unlabelledView post →over on Twitter, @izdaramola.bsky.social reminded me of A Most Wanted Man. a *great* movie. one of last decade's best. i think about it a lot.
unlabelledView post →Each time I watch, A Most Wanted Man, I am reminded of the brilliant screenplay and talent, not only from the entire cast, but the depth of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s character performance in his last film. 🕊️

unlabelledView post →Wanted Man Another Signature film onto Paramount+ for Ireland, my expectations were low. And yet, while not being good with some meh acting outside of Kelesy Grammer and a weak first act, the second act onwards does improve with it's writing to make it an alright watch.

unlabelledView post →movie adaptation of le Carré’s A Most Wanted Man. It is also PSH’s last living performance in a movie. I am biased but I think it is rather very good. His performance as a weathered and strained senior German counterintelligence official is a tragic performance given what he was doing to himself.

unlabelledView post →A Most Wanted Man, Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s last film, is extremely underrated.
unlabelledView post →I just watched A Most Wanted Man last night, his very last film. He always turned in a brilliant performance. He left us way too soon. An incredible actor.
unlabelledView post →Our Kind of Traitor, Little Drummer Girl, or The Constant Gardener (and A Most Wanted Man): astonishingly good casting, directors and screenwriters finding ways to make incredible novels _even better_ on film
unlabelledView post →📽 Watching "A Most Wanted Man" (2014) Philip Seymour Hoffman's last film before we lost this great talent. Robin Wright's performance of an American CIA officer is a prescient warning. All the characters are misguided in thinking they are doing the right thing. Hoffman's performance is his best IMHO
unlabelledView post →The WSU football team went to the movie theater I worked at to see a movie the night before a game they were playing. Mike Leach, who was the coach at the time, asked me for a movie recommendation and I pointed him to A Most Wanted Man, which he told me he enjoyed as he was heading out.
unlabelledView post →I certainly remember her in the Sherlock Holmes films. My real Rachel McAdams fandom stemmed from her role as Inez in my 2nd favorite movie of the 21st Century, Midnight in Paris. She was also great in the excellent A Most Wanted Man (based on a John le Carré novel) opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman.

unlabelledView post →I get it, you got to do an interview with Dolph and all, but the praise heaped on the dreadful film WANTED MAN feels like I watched a completely different film than the writer of this piece. Bonkers. www.indiewire.com/features/cra...
unlabelledView post →I am back on my spy movie kick. A Most Wanted Man, a le Carré flick. Philip Seymour Hoffman is like a prototype for Gary Oldman in Slow Horses, only German. I love an odd-ball trainwreck of a spy.
unlabelledView post →Autumn Spy Season continues with Our Kind of Traitor, which turns out to be on Netflix (why, o why, isn’t A Most Wanted Man streaming anywhere - it is so underrated as both book and film)
unlabelledView post →Admittedly I'm more familiar with his film adaptations, but damn there are some fantastic ones. (A Most Wanted Man being one that a lot of people didn't even hear of - it's a Le Carré spy thriller with Philip Seymour Hoffman directed by the same guy who did the Enjoy the Silence video!)
unlabelledView post →Just finished A Wanted Man and moved on to Never Go Back by Lee Child. This one was adapted as the second Reacher movie starring Tom Cruise. The story continues almost directly from the previous book.
unlabelledView post →PSH was actually in the film version of le Carré's A Most Wanted Man.
unlabelledView post →There are quite a few good Le Carré movie adaptations. Put the Constant Gardener and A Most Wanted Man on your list. The latter is Philip Seymour Hoffman’s last role before he died. Robin Wright is excellent in it as well. Ralph Fiennes is great in the former.

unlabelledView post →A Most Wanted Man is a very very good spy movie. (Which is honestly what brought the comparison to mind.) And part of the reason for that is that you believe that many of the main characters still exist once they walk off set. Soderbergh….

unlabelledView post →I concur on both of those being standouts 👌 How late have you gone? I think the latest I read was A Most Wanted Man (underappreciated film adaptation by the way with a great Philip Seymour Hoffman performance!) but recently picked up a used copy of Silverview
unlabelledView post →“A Most Wanted Man” was an entire book’s worth of the howl of righteous rage that PSH let out at the end of the film adaptation.
unlabelledView post →We watched A Most Wanted Man tonight and I think it's the only PSH film I haven't seen. Its a very well made movie even if I'm not a fan of LeCarre "Spycraft is actually tedious and backstabby" stuff but man this movie sets some new record for "LOL What the fuck accent is that actor doing?!"

unlabelledView post →I really love his work. His passion for film probably started with photography which is relatable for me. I like the Miles Davis portrait the most of these four. I also like the European Neo-Noir style he brought to The American and A Most Wanted Man (one of Philip S Hoffman's last movies)

unlabelledView post →"A Most Wanted Man" the last film with Philip Seymour Hoffman & Willem Defoe (John le Carre story) involved burning people who were actually not averse to Western security interests in stings and traps to bolster the careers of political hacks. seems similar at this point youtu.be/OUyYBrlF_W8
unlabelledView post →No thank you brother! I loved it, thanks for making great, passionate film. Definitely adding "Wanted Man" to the list 💪 🙏
unlabelledView post →I think A Most Wanted Man is the most realistic movie about espionage I've ever seen. Also it was Phillip Seymour Hoffman's last role before he passed, and he was so perfect in it.
unlabelledView post →I have not been impressed with most of the Le Carré movies in my life. A Most Wanted Man was decent. Spy Who Came in From the Cold was pretty great, but different era and sensibilities of film-making.
unlabelledView post →Upon rewatching A Most Wanted Man I am more than underwhelmed by a film I very much liked when I first saw it, but now didn't work for me at all after reading the novel.

unlabelledView post →Enjoyed ‘A Most Wanted Man’ last night. It’s LeCarre & Philip Seymour Hoffman after all. But have to wonder what nuances. the Hollywood cast going German missed. But I guess that’s the economics of US movie making.
unlabelledView post →My non-pedantic answer is: I need to read A Most Wanted Man not just because I love Le Carré but because I think PSH’s performance might put the movie over the top.
