60 of 319 · most liked firstCreeping up on 70 hours and I'm absolutely loving this game... it's a chill survival crafting & building game where you don't starve every 10 minutes and watch your food rot out from under you and watch your base get destroyed. Sometimes low-key survival can be relaxing and chill, not stress inducing. This is a perfect example of that. Some of the things that impressed me right off the bat were the visuals, the content and how polished it all is already... While I usually love hyper…

unlabelledView post →Do not buy it yet! It's definitely early access, with clunky controls, bad combat, and really boring quests. I'll continue to play through it all, but would advise anyone else gives it a miss for now and waits for the devs to build and perfect the game more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a decent framework but a proposed 1.0 launch date of October 2026 and I am afraid it will be released in an incomplete state. Based on their roadmap, it appears that it will never receive the updates that it needs to set it apart from other more feature complete survival/crafting/gatherers. - There are no waves, currents, or water physics in this game about water and boats. - The game has a sailing tag. You do not ever need to touch a boat in this game except to cross the two…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game — the concept has potential — but the value for money just isn’t there. After about 12 hours of playing with two friends, we all felt the same: the experience is far too repetitive. The combination of clunky combat, unbalanced spells, uninspired loot, and bland boss design made it hard to keep going. This could’ve been a fun weekend as playtesters, giving feedback and helping shape the game — but charging money for it in this state feels premature. It…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to love this game, really I did. I even paid for it... But.... every time I found that i need to adjust the game settings, I would have to start a whole new game. I would literally lose all the progress i had made, limited as it was, to be lost. It doesn't cross over. I get that, but not being able to access the game settings from the game is ludicrous. They can only be accessed when you begin a brand new world and thus if you do this, you lose all you've accomplished in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access Review. This game is beautifully well done so far. The surfing is the best thing I've ever done in a game to get around rather just sticking to a boat. This is also done by a small developer so kudos to them for serving. Survival aspect isn't you trying to suck up water or food to keep a meter up, the survival aspect is to know when to eat food so you have a large health buff to fight things and dodging is somewhat important. XP System is rewarding and locked making sure you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not very playable yet... However, I can't wait until it is! I'm going to love building in Nera with my friends when they fix the frame rate issues. For now, I'm uninstalling it and waiting until it's fixed. The game is pretty and I love the story. I literally can't wait until it's playable!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall a fun and relaxing game. For an early access game, my expectations were met and I'm looking forward to further updates. Having played through almost the entire game as of writing, I do have some requests that I think would make this game more rewarding. Exploration starts off interesting, there are a bunch of islands and large statues that suggest mystery, yet nothing is ever revealed. I would like to see exploration be rewarded with interesting finds such as rare loot, easter eggs,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am giving a positive vote because this game is a genuine indie effort, with a beautiful, uncommon setting and overall serviceable gameplay. But other than that... i dunno, man. There are games where the world is limited in size, but very varied, gorgeous to look at and full of content (like Subnautica or Enshrouded), others where it sometimes gives a feeling of emptiness and repetition, but is more than vast and still beautiful enough to compensate (like Valheim or No Man's Sky). And then…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like this game. I really do, but unfortunately I can't. Not because it is in early access but rather the game to me feels like it has an identity problem. It feels like the spirits and the elements are heavily inspired by Avatar, which I like. But that's about it. The spirits are just... there. They don't move, don't have any benefit, they are just... present. Same goes for the element system which is my biggest concern. It's not that it feels lacking or bad in itself but rather...…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Update: Tested the january performance improvements. Nothing really changed, still constant stutter (drops in the 30-40fps) on high end hardware. At least the areas with unplayable framerates on the starting island seem to be gone now. As someone who really liked the demo I sadly have to give this a negative review for now. Not because of the gameplay etc. but because of the terrible performance. Dont get me wrong, the demo also had bad performance. But atleast it had solid 1% lows and just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Craft from storage should not be an unlock. It should be a fundamental part of these types of games. It should just work for all container types.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was skeptical about trying this game. To my surprise, despite it having rough edges, the game is pretty enjoyable. From swimming, combat to crafting or just enjoying the views. It's mostly smooth sailing. Some things to notice : - No crouch, sneak or any form of stealth. - Limited amount of customisation on character creator. - Micro-stutters on my system despite running around 60-80 FPS . - Can't close the game properly just lingers after exitting to desktop. - Hard to find what…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish Steam would introduce a Meh or Neutral option for reviews since its not always so one sided, positive or negative. I think its an ok game, it has a pretty world but most if its systems are either way too simplistic like the combat or kinda useless like the exploration. I know its in EA but I'll judge it for what it is now, taking into account that the game is out for almost 2 years. - Combat / Enemies If this game is more aimed at children or casual players thats fine, not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having spent more hours on the game, I'm revising my earlier review again: Voyagers of Nera is an enjoyable experience, but likely more for the cozy gaming crowd. As a survival game, it has severe design flaws that missed my expectations. The core progression follows a standard loop of gathering materials and base building, mixed with reading lore pillars and rescuing spirits or runes. While the concept works on paper, the execution feels incredibly shallow. 1. Tools and Materials Tried and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like Valheim, but pacific islander instead of vikings. Damn good game. Can't wait to see what the updates have in store for it. If you've ever watched Moana and thought, "Man, I sure would like to sail around doing ♥♥♥♥ like that instead of just watching it...." This is your game.

Then this game is literally perfect for you. The pithy opener is not made in jest or jeer. This is a very solid game as is. If nothing else was added, and for the cool sale price of roughly 20 American dollars, I can confidently say this is a worthwhile purchase. The fact it's getting responsive and robust updates makes it a steal. Nera mixes some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very cute game, great graphics for only 3 months in and an indie publisher. There's a few glitches and flickers with the graphics, I have not DC'd once and it seems to run very well on my moderately old PC. They definitely need to add more progress to the game but overall, very fun. Love the ocean, love the dynamics with environment. Highly recommend, even without late content, it's a worth while game to buy. They seem very active in their small community, so I hope it grows bigger.…

unlabelledView post →I love the visuals and, potentially, I'd enjoy the game. It looks great and the underwater stuff recently added sounds like fun. Not recommended for now, however, because they decided a basic QoL feature like crafting from storage should be a mid game unlock instead of just a thing that you can do. I cannot recommend games taht work this way anymore. Crafting from storage or bust.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bones of a good game are here, but it's still light on actual things to do. The skimming is fun, the aesthetic is fantastic, and the building is right up my alley... but the combat is samey with little nuance or variation, and there really isn't any reason to explore beyond finding the handful of spirits in each biome (that unlock abilities that may or may not even be useful). The game just needs more fleshing out, overall. I especially appreciate that the 'framework' building system…

unlabelledView post →Just "beat" the prerelease content that is out at this current point in time. Played the entire 27 hours with my wife. We had a great time. The mechanics are enjoyable, it's just the right amount of chill and action-packed, and the progression in the story is great. I would highly recommend this game, especially if you're a couple or have friends looking for a new game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this game is promising and these types of games are right up my alley however I can not recommend it at the moment. At my current specs, 5900x - 5070 - 64gb ram - m.2 install, the game runs pretty poorly. Yes I am playing on 1440p but that shouldn't be an issue for this machine as I run several games at 1440p without issue. All drivers are up to date as well and I do not believe in the whole "hurr durr ue5 bad" crap, I play plenty ue5 games without issues (heck I can run windrose at…

unlabelledView post →As crafting/building goes, not the best As spooky exploration goes? freaking -chef kiss- Could do with more boats and better building even if they copied enshrouded 1 for 1, for construction. Basically makes you feel like you are a part of Vaiana/moana movie mixed with Avatar the Last Airbender. The game overall even at early access is a solid 7.4, building needs improvement but thats it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eight hours into this game I can say it's fun but is missing something. The loot is vanilla and boring. The progression is good but not great. Exploration is repetitive - each area in first zone never really surprises me once I saw the loop. Combat is basic and repetitive. Its just all ok. I'm finding it difficult to want to play more. Not sure if updates will help this as the game loop seems baked in now and as-is it's 6/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could not launch this game. I tried: -updating gpu drivers -adding various launch options through steam properties -downloading and updating epic games launcher (yuck) PC specs attached.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a cute, cozy game, but nothing really grabs you. Combat is dull and repetitive. Boss fights, blink and you'll miss it. Archery is redundant. The aesthetics are nice for the genre... But it is an extremely easy game and definately fits the family friendly category. It's not worth the full price tag for the content it has and playability, I probably wouldn't be happy even getting it on sale price.

Anyway I enjoyed my experience and will just wait for more content. What I like about the game: 1. Nice graphics, Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. 2. Earth, Water, Fire, Air 3. My favourite part: Building. I love the different…

unlabelledView post →So far, so good. The environment is beautiful, and it feels like a cozy open-world survival crafting game. I initially bought it because the boat looks interesting, but I barely used it mid-game and ended up relying on the surfboard instead until I reached the early access level cap. I enjoyed the crafting and building system, though I think theres still room for improvement, like adding more weapons, armor and building options. Overall, the game is fun and enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting Voyagers of Nera! The perfect post-dos1 chill game. 💙 I get to explore beautiful nature and sea and build a settlement.
unlabelledView post →Fantastic game with lots of potential. Almost at the end now. A few things could do with QoL updating and adjusting here and there but over-all a great time killer! I'm not keen on basically having to re-start a base every-time I venture to a new area, and it was an absolute slog using the ancient gate to go backwards and forwards to bring all materials to the final area so I'd love to see more boat storage or perhaps a backpack/rucksack or something for abit of extra storage for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really beautiful ocean based survival crafting game. The biomes are lush with life and resources and the ocean gives way to a whole new depth of gameplay. Crafting is basic and exploration is encouraged right out the gate! Combat feels a bit lackluster with the same enemy types, would love to have seen more variety. The game is in early stages and lacks content and progression for those of you that are a persistent new game "diver". Ok to play alone best within a co-cop situation, in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The open world, island exploration, crafting systems, and combat feel are all quite satisfying. The main reason behind all the overwhelmingly positive reviews is likely the hands-on gameplay elements—like the neat little island puzzles and spirit mechanics—that genuinely enhance the experience. Feeling your character grow as you progress and being rewarded with mechanics that streamline your pace feels great. Also, these are very easy to access, and while the combat mechanics are above…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty game, but it did not click for me after nearly two hours of trying to figure out why I was doing any of the things on my todo list. There's all the parts of a good game here, probably, but something left me feeling like I was doing chores. Nothing felt rewarding. Nothing felt like I was making progress. In fact, I started to feel like I was doing the washing up according to someone else's plan. When I develop games, I like to make sure the player has a motivation, not a task list.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Voyagers of Nera is my family's first survival crafting game. We had tried Minecraft before (split screen on Xbox) but it was a bit much for our youngest (who is now 6). Voyagers of Nera is a much nicer experience for our family. We did turn off weight, item durability, and dropping items on death. - The game has a great setting with fun visuals. - The combat is okay but not great. (reworking this is on their road map right now) - The "grind" feels minimal, but you do get the satisfaction of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun ocean-focused exploration game! Great base-building mechanics with decent amount of boat-building support structures. Combat mechanics are good, with four different elemental buffs to choose from, you can also mix and match various spells/skills from different elements to suit your playstyle. ...however, it lacks combat creativity. (we need a variety of weapons!!)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I ve played 5 hours so no refund, dont worry you have my money... It's one of these rare times i should have listen to reddit. My rig is 10 time beyond the requirements and i had stutters right of the bat in the first room, v sync "kinda" fix the issue but still, i climb a path to see a tower, my frame rate drop 40 fps if i watch the wrong way, amazing. Add to that the clunky gameplay, its the first time in my history of gaming i actually had to play both with controller and mouse because some…

The character style, environment are very similar to me. They both have gliding and certain mechanics. Palia has more elements like mining and farming, it is an older game so its "just" in that. Their differences is in the environment as Nera is more a water environment with a tropics flavour and Palia is fully on land (last i played anyway). Do i dislike Nera? Not at…

Tedious grind, none or very little content, combat is horrible, no climbing, repetitive and boring. Bought the game and set up a server and played with friends. Every single one of us quickly got so bored that server is shut down and none of us is playing the game anymore. I am aware that this game is in early stage, but I simply can not see evolve into anything…
