Ryan: How much did they pay you to give up on your dreams? Bob: Twenty seven thousand a year. Ryan: At what point were you going to stop and go back to what made you happy?

unlabelledView post →Is the movie Up in the Air a pretty depressing movie for a 9:30a AA flight? Yes. But it has vintage #AvGeek content so yea sure why not.
unlabelledView post →Was devastated to learn the Up in the Air writer (of the book, not the movie) is an IDW guy now. I really liked that book in college.
unlabelledView post →Re-watched Up in the Air recently and one of the ways the movie tells us Clooney's character is smart is he defends stereotyping folks because it's "not prejudice it's effeciency"
unlabelledView post →Dug up what is likely my first byline: a review of Up in the Air, published in the March 2010 issue of Teen Ink magazine (lol). A bit hyperbolic at times, but not bad, tbh. Also, an ad for some newfangled Twitter thing.
unlabelledView post →Up in the Air. The movie was charming, heartbreaking, and fun. The book was disjointed and uninteresting and I hated everyone.
unlabelledView post →Just put it together now that Walter Kirn is the guy who wrote Up in the Air and does a podcast with Matt Taibbi. Jason Reitman directed the movie, and his first feature Thank You For Smoking was executive produced by (drumroll) Peter Thiel and Elon Musk
unlabelledView post →Reskeet with a quote from a show/movie that’s actually good advice. This clip from “Up in the Air” (2009) changed my life and dating outlook instantaneously. youtu.be/Dw6VE8jjP-0?...
unlabelledView post →The novelist, who wrote Up In The Air 😑 He is working on a movie based on antivax shithead Jay Bhattacharya, meant to be a "satire" of COVID precautions, called "The Rash". (Instead of a fatal illness, see, it would just be a skin rash) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_...
unlabelledView post →Musk (DOGE) and the Trump administration reminds me of the 2009 movie, "Up In The Air" where George Clooney and Anna Kendrick are hired by a company to fire their employees.
unlabelledView post →normalize checking your bags even if they fit in the overhead*, you are not George Clooney and this is not his hit film Up in the Air
unlabelledView post →Our fifth film involving George Clooney in some fashion (Up in the Air, The Monuments Men, O Brother, Good Night & Good Luck). #HATM
unlabelledView post →I know people disagree, but I kind of loved "Up in the Air" (the movie, I haven't read the book).
unlabelledView post →Apparently, RFK's VP running mate has convinced Walter Kirn of Up in the Air fame to write a movie script about the pandemic - he's apparently making a fictionalized account where Bhattacharya is the hero, COVID wasn't a serious threat, and ivermectin worked.
unlabelledView post →I haven't read the book, but Up in the Air was made into a good movie
unlabelledView post →Post this more out of disappointment than meanness. "Thank You For Smoking" was quite good. I hated "Juno" but that was about the script. "Up In The Air" is a fantastic film. The wow, right off a cliff with the rest. His film humping his dead fathers corpse was at least watchable, otherwise...
unlabelledView post →#bales2025moviechallenge - airport Up in the Air (2009) I like this film. It has strong performances, directing, and an unresolved ending that feels more real than you might expect. I LOVE the brilliant scene when Clooney teaches Kendrick how to get through airport security
unlabelledView post →Can I offer you "Up in the Air". Though admittedly it's a movie
unlabelledView post →I loved the movie "Up In the Air," starring George Clooney and Anna Kendrick as contractors who break the bad news to employees during corporate layoffs.

unlabelledView post →Up in the Air is actually the kind of movie I miss to be clear. And Behemoth looks to fill the space.
unlabelledView post →Its like that movie ‘Up in the Air’
unlabelledView post →I read Up in the Air before the film version was thought of. Really enjoyed it.
unlabelledView post →14. Out of Sight just might be George Clooney's best film performance, but it might also be Up In the Air.
unlabelledView post →For Jason Reitman who later went on to write and direct UP IN THE AIR, a film where we’re supposed to find sympathy for a guy whose entire job is to fire you.
unlabelledView post →Remember the 2009 George Clooney movie Up in the Air? Pretty sad it’s par for the course now. 😕
unlabelledView post →god this reminds me it's so funny how Shiruku was a high profile celebrity focus in the Meitantei Precure cast when it was Totally Up In The Air which one Cure Eclair was and then we kind of completely forget about her once we can focus on Luluka/Kurea yuri

unlabelledView post →HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY REMEMBER WHEN TRUMP, VANCE, JOHNSON AND HEGSETH WERE ON A PLANE... AND THEN FOR NO REASON THAT MAKES SENSE IT JUST BLEW UP IN THE AIR ( LIKE A VAN DAMME MOVIE IN SLO MO ) AND EVERYONE WAS LIKE " OH SHIT ", THEN THEY WENT BACK TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING. GOOD TIMES.

I'm a big an of Jason Reitman's work, but I'd rank this last of the 5 movies of his I've seen: 1) Up in the Air, 2) Juno, 3) Thank You For Smoking, 4) Young Adult, & 5) Saturday Night. I loved the look of the film & the claustrophobic feel. & the idea of a...1)

unlabelledView post →The movie Up In The Air is literally about this.
unlabelledView post →Real airports are difficult film sets. Passengers keep moving, secure areas need approval and aircraft can't wait for another take. For Up in the Air, American timed arrivals and changed gates around the production. LAX may also require tenant approval and case-by-case security clearance.
unlabelledView post →These visual tropes reduced Black performers to comic relief based on racial caricature rather than treating them as equal actors. While the film itself (Up in the Air, 1940) is a product of its time, the poster’s design actively amplifies and markets that racism for laughs.

Unfortunately, I believe it is the nature of these corporate figure, stoic, cynic, hypocritical characters what might weigh the emotional aspect down for a greater part of the story, only cut through by brief bursts of Kendrick and Lynskey excellence, and eventually, Clooney's character's growth. Overall, the final message is a little…

unlabelledView post →I don’t really get why this movie got an Oscar nomination. I mean it’s watchable but I don’t think it’s Oscar-worthy. I think this movie is too simple to be nominated. There were some funny parts but it’s more of a “LOL” than “LMAO”. Script wise, it’s nice. It’s kind of real in a way since a lot of people are losing their jobs because of recession. I think that’s one of the reasons why people liked this movie because it is what’s happening right now in the USA.
