unlabelledView post →Happy birthday to Sam Neill, one of the stars of what's probably my favorite movie, Until the End of the World.
unlabelledView post →Just blocked someone for calling UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991) a "weird movie" Fuck off to your theatrical cut with that shit, we watch the director's cut up in this bitch
unlabelledView post →Happy #LetterboxdFriday 📽️! It was a bit of an uneven week with my #lastfourwatched. That's right, the worst of my week was a Coppola film. WaaPaKe (2023) Until the End of the World (1991) Jeepers Creepers (2001) Megalopolis (2024)

unlabelledView post →Sam Neill was great. The original (shorter) version of "Until the End of the World" was my introduction and I still love his performance in that film. Also, the raising rabbits story in "Hunt for Red October"? [Chef's kiss]. youtu.be/P8JW75Lv25k?...

unlabelledView post →ah, Sam Neill (1947–2026). Until The End of the World, dir. Wim Wenders (1991) remains my favourite film,
unlabelledView post →#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched I've only watched one new film this week - Wim Wenders' 'ultimate road movie'/sci-fi Until the End of the World. Instead, I've been digging into the HBO back catelogue - this week it was The Deuce, John From Cincinnati, and Primal.
unlabelledView post →Many, memories of Sam Neill roles, all terrific—was he ever not great, & was there ever a bad Sam Neill film?—but one I haven’t seen mentioned is one of my favorite films: Wim Wenders’ Until The End Of The World. He wasn’t the star of the film, but he tells the beautiful story beautifully.
unlabelledView post →I'll add to the Sam Neill posting by recommending a mind bending movie he was in that I haven't seen others mention - Until the End of the World (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Until_t...). Sam plays the third star who is often on his own searching for the others. It's a very strange and contemplative film.

unlabelledView post →Making my way through the 5 hour Wim Wenders Sci-fi film “Until the End of the World” and I’m so in love
unlabelledView post →The best way I could describe UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991) is "What if TÁR (2022) was a sci-fi road movie where Max von Sydow is the surprise guest-star in the third act"
unlabelledView post →There’s a 20-hour version of Until the End of the World (1991) and it seems kind of silly we can’t watch that cut of the film yet in the age of streaming. A landscape of boundless technological opportunity squandered by myopic pencil pushers.
unlabelledView post →Wim Wenders' UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD has been reconsidered in recent years, but it had a pretty starry cast (and a legendarily stacked soundtrack) for a five hour apocalyptic SF conspiracy road movie by a German arthouse director. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BCq...
unlabelledView post →Against all odds, the best album of the 21st century remains 1991's soundtrack to the movie "Until the End of the World." Wow what an upset. bsky.app/profile/drew...
unlabelledView post →Happy birthday to Wim Wenders, director of my favorite movie, UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD.
unlabelledView post →If looking for a film to watch I recommend “Until the End of the World” Wim Wenders it’s got nostalgia for Sydney, outback, AI, CyberPunk, Nature everything all 6 hours of it
unlabelledView post →What I love about UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991) is that Wim Wenders was making a movie about the magic of cinema off of a screenplay by Peter Carey that practically screams "MOVING PICTURES HAVE RUINED THE WORLD"
unlabelledView post →All I can find of Peter Carey commenting on his screenplay for UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD is this old Paris Review interview, where he is quite curt and mysterious about the whole matter: petercareybooks.com/life/paris-r...
unlabelledView post →Until the End of the World was my favorite movie for decades, so I’m feeling some feelings about Sam Neill’s death.
unlabelledView post →Until The End Of The World has the best soundtrack of any film of all time. Likely the best (for me) the best Wim Wenders film. Sam Neill in all his handsomeness. RIP Sam Neill

unlabelledView post →Spent all of yesterday rewatching the director's cut of Until the End of the World & I'm sorry but I still love that movie despite any & all imperfections, & find it fascinating as a cultural artifact that could only have appeared in that very brief immediate post-Cold War moment & then never again.
unlabelledView post →It should be The Piano or maybe My Brilliant Career. Hell, I have a soft spot for Until the End of the World. But who am I kidding? My favorite Sam Neill film is Omen III: The Final Conflict. And it’s not even close.

unlabelledView post →UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD (1991) *** - the Criterion directors cut is over 4 1/2hrs long and is not for the faint of heart - this is a big, complex, vast film of standing still, running around, moving from a love story to a sci-fi dystopian think piece. You are not prepared…you will be tested…

unlabelledView post →Top 10 film over 150 minutes. 📽️ #Filmsky Only including one each from ‘LOTR’ and ‘The Human Condition’, but I could’ve easily picked all three of each trilogy. ‘Until the End of the World’ has to be the 287m Director’s Cut, as the other versions just don’t make sense. In no particular order:
unlabelledView post →UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD is a wholly un-cynical film. If made these days by almost anyone else, there’d be casual murders, betrayals, explosions. Instead, everyone finds unity. There’s plenty of conflict & mystery, but no one is a “bad guy”. Everyone just wants to find happiness.
unlabelledView post →One of my fav Sam Neill films is the 1991 sci-fi roadtrip epic 'Until the End of the World'. Running to almost 5 hours in its complete version, this film by Wim Wenders is set across several countries in the then future of 1999. Well worth a look. Longest film I ever watched in one sitting!
unlabelledView post →The movie '48 Hours' is actually 96 minutes. '9 1/2 Weeks' is 117 minutes. Most worrying, 'Until The End Of The World' is 179 minutes.
unlabelledView post →On this day (26th July) in 1992, the Scala Cinema was showing Until The End Of The World (1991) with Buster Keaton short The Railrodder (1965) as a ‘Road & Rail’ matinee.
unlabelledView post →Tonight’s movie: Until The End Of The World. My pick! We just now discovered this is the “director’s cut,” nearly 5 hours. Welp, we will watch the first half tonight and finish tomorrow
unlabelledView post →In 1991, Wim Wenders made a movie called Until the End of the World. If you are a cinema-knower 🧐 of a certain age, you've probably heard of it and may even have seen it. If you're a true sicko like me, you own the 4.5-hour director's cut on Blu-Ray. But it's suddenly got a whole new relevance 🧵

unlabelledView post →I strongly recommend people (re)watch Until the End of the World. That movie was ahead of its time.
unlabelledView post →Wim Wenders Until The End Of The World is perhaps the coolest film I’ve ever seen. When I first saw it, it was cool, but it’s the sticking factor to me over time. It’s how it changed my view of the world and how his films influenced my career in science. That’s cool.
unlabelledView post →R.I.P. Sam Neil (78) - I could go on for days about Sam Neil. From Damian Thorn to Alan Grant, he never disappointed. But, a film you may have never looked at twice, or dared to even watch I do recommend UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. Long, slow, it just goes on and on…but Sam Neil elevates the film.
unlabelledView post →My favorite film of his is "Until the End of the World." I remember walking out of the theater after seeing it and telling my friends, "I don't know if that's what the world will look like in 1999, but I'm sure we'll get there." And damned if we ain't close.
unlabelledView post →I still haven’t seen the movie, but when we were dating I got obsessed with my husband’s copy of the soundtrack to Until The End of the World (the Wim Wenders movie). Daniel Lanois’s “Sleeping in the Devil’s Bed” is still a favorite.

unlabelledView post →Good morning Bluesky! It feels like this is near future rather than far. But it’s probably the best soundtrack of my generation. Until the End of the World. The Criterion version of the movie is five hours long and worth it. @jamellebouie.net have you opinion? #vinyl #recordsky #soundtracks
