I truly tried to give this game a chance but yeah... This game feels like it should have come out in 2008. No innovation, no engaging storyline and the graphics that are about what came out around then. Gameplay *always* beats out graphics but this game has neither... Don't waste your cash.

Not just avoid, but point and laugh at it. No wonder this was lumped in the AMD bundle, this game has nothing going for it to justify the official price tag if you were to get it outright -- or any price, for that matter. In actuality, the developers should be paying me, and anyone else for wasting all of our time. To call it mediocre is generous, it felt like a waste of time to play it. To start off, the combat is sluggish, and when compared to any other action-adventure game, it's…

No wonder this game was free with an AMD CPU. Controls are sh*tty. Gameplay and the mechanics are buggy (spent my whole playtime with a bugged tutorial because the enemy was stuck in a place I cant reach even with restarting/new savegame). Graphics are well...not great and optimization is almost non existent Overall game gets a rating of 2/10

The combat is boring and repetitive. It's an easy game until the last bosses, when it becomes stupidly difficult and there is no way to change the difficulty. It's as if the people who made this have never played a video game.

So many things wrong with this game: bugs with sprinting or inability to do so because of dialogue, saves are horrible (not at the point of where you are and neither at the checkpoints), frames drop leads to game not responding to combat, bugged achievements, bugged perk to see collectables, bad writing, combat in general, controls, I can go on. Would not have played it if I hadn't had gotten it for free.

A diamond buried by its publisher, from someone who actually finished it I played this game from start to finish, and I'm frustrated. Not at the game, but at how it was handled and how it's been reviewed by people who clearly didn't give it a fair chance. The gameplay is not repetitive I keep seeing this complaint and I don't understand it. This is a combat-focused action-adventure game with progression. You unlock new skills, pull off better combinations, and grow stronger as you go. How is…

First game of the year done: Unknown 9 Awakening. Lore is by far its strongest element. Combat, graphics and overall game design leave much to be desired. Unique abilities don't reach their full potential, but at least I had a modicum of fun with them. Things can only get better from here.

I purchased this game during the winter sale, as it looked interesting and I wanted a "newer" game to test my new PC. This game looks bad, the way unreal engine handles light and skin is disgraceful in this day and age. I wanted to give this game a chance, it's very buggy, the controls are sluggish at best, and overall the game play is just not fun. overall would not recommend

I'm so happy this frustrating dodge simulator is over! Why make the game so hard? No wonder only 8% players actually finished it. And why is the walk so stupidly slow? And why make the protagonist such an arrogant unlikable impolite piece of sh*t?! Are you OK? If I had a list of games I'll 100% never play again, this would be near the top.

I recently built a new PC for the first time in years, and Unknown 9 Awakening came as a bundle deal with my new graphics card. Watching the trailers, the game looked quite compelling, so I was looking forward to trying it out. Reviews are quite mixed, both from critics and players alike, and I can understand a number of reasons why. Having just completed the game I thought I'd write a few thoughts. This game is fine, it's not great, its not bad, it's fine. The negativity surrounding it is crazy. It features unique combat, though the movement can be a little janky at times. It's a solid AA title with gorgeous art direction and environments. You can tell it's a "European"game, if you played enough of them in the past, so there is some jank. However, I enjoyed playing this as it was something different. Listen, buy it on sale when it's less than $15-$20 and stop listening to all the noise.…

I'll give this a recommend with the caveat that you don't pay more than 20 euros for it. It's a game somewhere between 'Good' and 'Just Ok', and it also has a short <15h runtime. It's simply not as good to justify the game's initial 50 euro price tag - that was a crazy decision by the publisher. This is certainly not the worst game of the year as some people hyperbolically called it. There's really nothing wrong with it. Most of its systems are not very deep and aren't too interesting to…

This one is tough. Is the game bad? No. Will I suggest anyone play it? Also no. Basically plays like a budget Uncharted minus the shooting and minus the spectacle. The game starts well enough, bad guys don't take too long to fight and there aren't that many. By the end you're fighting dozens of dude's at a time and they all have a million hit points. You can control them, so you should be able to have them hurt each other, but instead while they can hit you for 90% of your health, they only…

This game has a lot of things I love, and a few things I can appreciate why people get frustrated at, but I didn't understand why a larger publisher would let this game completely drop instead of giving it a proper chance. So my investigation lead me down a rabbit hole.... of two things. The first thing I would point to is there seemed to be a group of people actively looking to say it's a terrible game - and I don't mean people formed an opinion of it and disliked it, I mean people being so…

In a world full low budget Dark Souls clones it gave me joy to play one game that is instead cloning The Tomb Raider Trilogy with it's seemingly low budget. But there are still traces of Dark Souls that were enough to make this game annoying to play, The Boss fights. Luckily unlike Souls likes this game has a checkpoint system so it's not as annoying as it would have been if the devs went full Dark Souls fanboy with it's development. The game was a commercial flop that, unsurprisingly, once…

If there was a ''Mixed'' Button instead of Yes or No that'd be my option. The thing is, if this game was released in 2015 on PS3, i'd say it's a great game, but it's not. The gameplay is alright, fighting tends to be more on the fun side towards the end but its very clunky. You need to hold a button to do strong attacks and 2 times out of 3 it just won't register properly. I often get glitched in spaces where i need to spam every button to get out of. Unknown 9: Awakening is an ambitious debut from Reflector Entertainment—with a promising magical-lore setup, occasionally striking locales, and a handful of novel ideas—but it’s weighed down by flat, clunky combat, technical issues, repetitive encounters, and thin characters, leaving it feeling less like an awakening and more like it hit the snooze button.

The story seems fine and all but the mechanics are terrible target locking is useless and the forced camera moves make gameplay a frustrating experience more so than any Souls game just due to the fact the targeting and camera mechanics are terrible enough you cant even play effectively. I definitely gave the game a chance, but it is not very good. The story might be interesting to some and there are some interesting ideas in the gameplay. Unfortunately, they are not well realized. Combat is very frustrating and seems to push you towards stealth. I've had fun with it so far as long as your not walking in with the hopes that every game has to be a 10/10.
