It's solid good fun, much like its sequel which can also be purchased on steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do you like being shot at by enemies you cannot see? Do like dying to random explosions? Do you like suffering fall damage from falling 2 meters off the ground? Do you like waiting an eternity for fire to disappear after triggering an explosion you need to progress? Do you like unforgiving turret sections where you have to defend a submarine from aircraft and dying after two hits from a torpedo you can't see? Do you like games that break if you play outside a 4:3 aspect ratio? If so this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had Ubersoldier II sitting on my Steam account for a while, and every time I go on a Eurojank binge I always feel its siren call, but being the type of person who can't just play the second game in a series before the first I've left it sitting as the first game hasn't been available on Steam... until now! I've once again succumbed to my addiction to low budget Eastern European FPS games so I was pretty happy to see they finally have this game available, and after playing through it I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubersoldier is bad. It is gloriously bad. This review is negative but I actively encourage you to see this one through, it only took me less than 4 hours to beat. The gameplay is ridiculously substandard and everything is barely holding together at the seams, aiming is jank and precision weapons are just not viable, automatic weapons miss their targets consistently, melee "combat" can be generously described as 2 helium balloons softly crashing into each other, explosives either destroy the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only brought this because Funhaus played it for their demo disk series back in the day. that's all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little budget FPS that's on the better side of the budget scale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The absolute king of the Slavjank FPS subgenre. Unironically better than every Call of Duty and Medal of Honor game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ÜberSoldier Positives: + Acceptable graphics (for its time) + Ok shadows and lightning effects + Weird physics engine (resulting in some fun moments) + Good sounds + Some parts are quite fun + Got some low budget charm to it + Ok temporal shield to use Negatives: - Unstable framerate - Bad voiceacting - Monotonous and repetitive gameplay - Below par gunplay - Overly use of special effects - Bad animations - Some bugs and glitches (but nothing serious) - The story is just bad - Weird head-bob…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the 2nd game first as this wasn't available on Steam at the time, but man do I regret it, I even wonder how the sequel became reality when this is sooo bad in comparison. The enemies are probably thought about combat from CoD: WaW due to their EXCESSIVE grenade use, you will get bombarded infinitely if you try and use cover, but if you don't, you'll get hitscanned, so you either kill them before they do a lot of damage or the game punishes you for trying to play tactically. Guns feel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We need more of these old-school FPS games back on Steam.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UberSoldier is an old school first person shooter. The game is set in WWII so weapons and vehicles are from this period to gave the game great realism. Step into the shoes of Karl Stoltz, a German soldier who was killed in combat but resurrected by the Nazis. Now, Karl is seeking vengeance against his former masters and has joined the Allies to turn the tide of the war. Burut updated this game in 2024 but it remains a 32-bit title. The movement, shooting, guns feel similar and the maps are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated games ever.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →for 5 bucks its silly, if you are a fan of jank ass games then its a decent time. Turn it on stream it to your friends and laugh at it. Voice acting is bad, shooting is iffy, story is...there. physics are silly. overall for a 5 dollar game its 4 hrs of dumb.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can do a lot worse if you're in the mood for some funny garbage. It's like Return to Castle Wolfenstein's adorable, mentally challenged cousin. The story is hilarious for all the wrong reasons, proper balance is pretty much non-existent - savescumming is a must, but dаmn, it's trying. And the gunplay is unironically pretty decent. Buy it for a peanut or two on sale, and you're probably going to have a somewhat good time. Just skip the submarine section; it's really not worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you ever wondered what the term "Slavjank" means, play this game. It's one of the very best representatives of its kind and a perfect intoduction to this sub-genre of mixed-bag-quality games that still leave you satisfied and yearning for more, despite all of their flaws. - Perfect installation, not a single crash, didn't even have to fight the settings. Everything just works. - The weapons look cool, sound decent and are satisfying to use. Almost all of them, only the pistols are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a fun simple shooter, with for its time good environments, a fine enough story and satisfying gunplay. And let's not forget the tons of over-the-top destruction moments and countless awesome explosions. Way better than its sequel as it does not share most of the sequel's problems. Though, just like the 2nd game, I do not like the upgrade system. You have to kill 3 enemies with a knife in a short time pediod to get a health upgrade or perform 3 headshots for shield power upgrade. As far as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I honestly liked this game. The story is so weird it's really cool. I like the idea of dead German soldiers being resurrected by a machine. Somehow, the basic idea reminded me of the movie "Outpost".
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Wolfenstein (2009) you may like this one. The movement, shooting, guns feel similar and the maps are nicely built. However, the main difference is your character’s identity, and the story is a mess almost a joke. If you don’t mind that or simply skip the cutscenes, you may enjoy it more. What I like besides the regular gunplay is the ability to stop bullets. It’s similar to one of the Mask abilities in Wolfenstein (2009): you can collect bullets…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Many years ago, I owned & played a disc copy of UberSoldier II - or "Crimes Of War" as my version was titled. Expecting it to just be a bad game, one I could chuck on for a laugh and quickly be done with, I was actually genuinely surprised by how much fun it was (although don't get me wrong, it was a bad game). Reminiscing about playing it, and wondering if I had any chances for a revisit, I come to find that both it AND a prequel I had no idea existed have since been listed on Steam. So what…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Cover and Name of the Game make it sound like it's Based but it's actually a Cuckold game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking for an experience, that feels like the engine plays through sanding paper; look no further - Burut got you covered! It is hard to explain the abrasive feel of motion in this game, imagine playing on a mousemat full of gravel. Headbobbing is very annoying too, very micro and jittery. Hated playing it back then, revisiting it in 2025 didn't change that. Doesn't work well with HD resolutions. Wouldn't recommend it, tho the cheesy setting could be fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ OST is three, 40 second songs looping endlessly + 9/10 deaths is random grenade or barrel explosion + Emotion tutorial + Best love story in gaming + Fun to shoot :) - Air plane level :( 9.9/10 legendary fps no cap
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so glad this is on steam now! i didnt think older games like this would be able to be bought again, would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys ww2, and older games!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UberSoldier, developed by Burut CT and published by Strategy First, is a World War II–themed first-person shooter that blends historical warfare with supernatural science fiction. Originally released in the mid-2000s and later reintroduced to modern audiences through Steam, the game stands as a product of its era—ambitious in concept, uneven in execution, yet undeniably distinctive. Rather than striving for strict historical realism like many WWII shooters of its time, UberSoldier takes a bold…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've played Ubersoldier II which released on Steam before Ubersoldier I, then you'll instantly recognize the gameplay and tone. The gunplay feels a lot like the original Metro 2033, with punchy and lethal bullets. This is slavjank through and through, but like...the good kind. If you manage your own expectations and go into it with an open mind its actually a really fun romp. The enemies are typical slavjank with heavy ragdolls and bits of armor and gear that go flying off when they die.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've liked this game and revisited it from time to time ever since its original release. Really glad to finally see it on steam; the retail release has the later version StarForce DRM that will make any version of Windows newer than XP bluescreen and refuse to boot until you remove it. It's not really a hidden gem - it's a janky singleplayer WWII shooter with the twist, "you have a bullet shield." the sequel has been available on here for years, but I think it was a step back in gameplay from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice single player WWII FPS game, in the style of older WWII FPS games like RTCW, etc. Graphics are good - not COD good, but well suited to the game. Sturdy, although linear, missions, many weapon choices, just a fun, simple game to play. Easily worth full price, a steal when on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good old FPS game set in an alt universe during WW2. Cut scenes and voice acting are terrible but who gives a ♥♥♥♥. Gameplay was solid. Good looking graphics even by todays standards and gun play was fun. Pretty difficult game though. The enemies have some pin point accuracy from even miles away and are grenade happy. Short game, if you are into old school shooters you should pick this up when it is on sale. I did have to tweak some files to get past some minor annoyances. You can find these…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For being what is essentially "We have Return to Castle Wolfenstein at home." if you can get past the jank its actually very fun and has some of the funniest and most excessive use of ragdoll physics and explosions and physics props that I have seen in a long time. A very rough gem in my opinion. Yeah the plot is kind of nonesensical and the translation isn't the best but who gives a ♥♥♥♥? Fun game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Similar to playing an Wolfenstien game. Not a bad game, until the submerine level. Very annoying level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UberSoldier, Aka Eastern Front: Unknown War, is a slavjank FPS from the mid-2000s, that was clearly inspired by Wolfenstein games. This one is kind of guilty pleasure. Objectively it's kind of bad and aged like milk, but if you are connoisseur of slavjank and below average FPS games in general, this is not the worst thing you could be playing. The game follows Karl Stolz, an ex-nazi officer that dies during attack of German resistance and was brought back to life by an experimental nazi tech…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like Return To Castle Wolfenstine was made by people who grew up in a soviet block country
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried. I really did. But eventually, my patience ran out. I first had the chance to play a demo of this game back when Future Gamer Magazine (a publication in my country) still existed. They used to include DVDs packed with game demos, and this game was one of them. Back then, I only had a potato of a PC—a Pentium 4 build. Playing this game was choppy as hell. Still, I vividly remember how spectacular the physics were: objects flying everywhere when things exploded, and the shield power was…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ÜberSoldier 2 is a lovely and nostalgic game for me. It's a game that I occasionally come back to just to play and cherish the good old days. When I saw that the developers re-released ÜberSoldier 1, it felt like a dream come true. So yes, this simple and probably goofy game is one of the best old games I played when I was a teenager. ÜberSoldier 1 has serious problems, but if you're a fan of the second game, you're still going to enjoy it a lot. I'm happy that the developers really cared…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not amazing by the slightest, but a short and somehow fun romp all the way through. I enjoyed my time with Ubersoldier, even through the jankiness of it all. I was confused allot by why some things were done how they were, but I enjoyed the simplicity of it all. I will say, Ubersoldier 2 succeeds where 1 does not, and that's in gameplay. While I thought this game was mostly fun, it was very rough. 2 is still rough but more refined, and I'd honestly just recommend that over this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really like this kind of old school FPS. Tight aiming and movement, physic interactions and destructions, and scripted events. It reminds me of similar games: Dusk 12, The Stalin Subway The level where you shoot endless airplanes is horrible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it back when it came out in 2005-2006 and played it again now and it is still a very fun shooter similar to Worfenstein but on a lower budget. Graphics were quite good for the time as well as the bullet shield ability that takes inspiration from Matrix. The game is not too long, maybe about 5-6 hours. On medium its slightly challenging but far from frustrating. I would definitely recommend playing and its worth the price of 5€.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A generic goofy world war 2 shooter that allows you to reflect bullets back at enemies and also easily knock enemies on their ass, perfect for 5 dollars.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10 SHOOTER 420/69 SLAVJANK!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Basically Call of Duty 2 but Slavjank. 7.0/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UberSoldier II: Got the first game on retail way back in the day, this popped up cheap so I nabbed it. Probably won't run on modern systems, I dunno.
unlabelledView post →Cool game and well made game from the year got released.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good classic and great game physics, however its a bland game. solid 6.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A typical game to kill time. Once upon a time, after its premiere, it was still pleasing to the eye with its graphics, today not so much, but it has not lost its playability. Although, to be honest, the plot is so banal and the dialogues so dull that it sometimes gives you a headache... despite this, I can recommend this game out of nostalgia, but only to kill time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great FPS. Low budget, but this game will give you fun playing it. Interesting scenario and characters. UberSoldier 2 is also a great game. Worth the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this is not the worst game ever it's only very mediocre at best and quite janky. This is a neutral/medium review because it is not straight up bad game but its so-so at best. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3284023770 Übersoldier I first played back in the day and it had some serious issues due to the old useless and infamous russian copy protection system called StarForce. Game also had insane amount of crashing. Thankfully now available steam edition has gotten…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Idk why I love bad voice acting so much, the whole thing is just that. you are kinda just there, being dragged from one location to the next. this game isnt shakespeare, but damn is it fun. seems like all the enemies had explosive barrels behind them, i just see them blasting out of windows left n right. it has a weird comfy vibe for me.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You shoot more nazi troops than the red army for a couple of hours in corridors with exploding barrels and open areas with barely any cover. But you have the shield power up that remedies the issue of being in the open. The window decoration enemies and explosions out of nowhere were still chipping the enjoyment out of this game. The mp40 was more accurate than the other guns and the machineguns didn't deal enough damage to be worth using them. The only other guns of any use was the sniper…
