It really kills the vibes of watching your little trainset, not to mention the gameplay. There aren't any stakes. Train Valley 1 and 2 were stressful experiences with real consequences, which was fun. They were like RTS puzzle multitasking games. This game doesn't seem to have any stakes, the gameplay just seems super shallow. It's much more akin to a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really like this game. Though I still love and play TV2, this has more depth. It's not the same personality as TV2 but I really like it... a LOT. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. I just hope by the time i'm done with the campaign they got an expansion out LOL Devs, thank you again for putting such love and care into yet another game and for being a great catalyst for an amazing community and showing so many that gaming devs are still out there that care about what they put out..
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frankly, I'm not sure why this part of the franchise is getting smacked that much, at least judging by the reviews. Yes, it's very different in game mechanics, but man, TV2 has what, 300-400 levels with all DLC? Changing the formula a little bit was probably a must. And I personally found TV World rather refreshing and enjoyable. I played only with Signals mode ON, however, so perhaps there is something wrong when playing without them? I haven't encountered any serious bugs or technical…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Firstly, this is not Train Valley 3. It's not similar at all, apart from having trains in it. This is much more of a tycoon style game than the previous iterations in this series. It's not as much fun as Train Valley 2, but I'm still enjoying it. If you liked Railroad Tycoon/Transport Tycoon then you'll enjoy this. it's much more lightweight than either of those two games, but also enjoyable for it. You can just sit down and play for half an hour or so and the fact that there's an option to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprised at the mixed reviews. This is by far the best in the series so far. The new switches update makes this one of my favorite train games. Scratches the itch of some of the more complex railway economic games, while in a package that I can easily finish within an available play window. Comfortably fits in the space between casual and railway economic simulator without becoming too much of either. Great game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2 Things about this game, it is not Train Valley nor is it transport tycoon, so many negative reviews because it doesn't do the same thing as these games, it can feel a bit slow at start but if u want it faster then use the speed buttons, the game does get harder as it go's on. I find it very relaxing and making me think a bit at same time, I put in nearly 900 hours into TV2 and I reckon i'll put a fair few hours into this 1 as well. Fantastic game recommend 100%.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For those new to this series, it has basically been a puzzle game implemented as a railroad sim. I love the series and spent untold hours playing TV2 and workshop levels. While the mechanics and hotkeys may be similar to Train Valley 2 the developer clearly meant it to be a very different game. At first you find yourself asking "What is the challenge here" once the switch manipulation has been removed and no dispatching. However once you get a few levels in and the challenge grows, it is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Train Valley games are easy and relaxing to play, with each level being easy to beat but the challenge is being better and more efficient to get all the stars etc,,, this version removed all the intuitive game play and easy UI and just made it frustrating and something I'm glad I brought in the sale so I don't feel that bitter about the waste of money this was/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game but there are just some really annoying things: 1. Trains don't take a new route even if you laid tracks in front of it, it wills take a whole cycle to recalculate which is just stupid 2. Signal Mode makes no sense. The in-game 'tutorial' says "explains" it in 1 sentence with very little detail so no idea how it should work; my trains are either all stopped or they all crashing. It's stupid -- can't believe they put that feature in with zero explanation. Their…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having really enjoyed the previous versions I eagerly awaited this release. My initial feeling was that of disappointment, as mentioned in other reviews fundamentally this is a different game. Is it a bad game? Not necessarily but I feel it has strayed too far away from what made TV different and enjoyable and in doing so has become not great as a resource management train game and not great as a puzzle game which is a shame. As per the other reviewers I don't like the ghosting but what I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not recommended and I have requested refund. As a player of TV2, this version totally ruined the classic game mode of the game. It's more like a programming that everything ran perfectly, no scratch, no reverse, no cross train accident. All you need to do is programming the train route and then AFK. (may grab a cup of coffee...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Train Valley World is a fantastic further development of Train Valley 2 but more in the direction of transport tycoon. It gives you more control of how the trains work and run. And the Levels are great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The perfect amount of train puzzley fun while being a casual dopamine drip. Nice tutorial and great UI. Can play while listening to podcast and you can save anytime.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First time I've returned a steam game but that's because I did not do my research. I only post this so that players of the previous version will know they should do a bit of research since this game doesn't have the same mechanics of the previous versions. Sadly, the game just isn't for me. It's just not an improvement on past mechanics or new challenges with those mechanics. It's not the same game but one that one that could be a bridge to the more complex train management games. I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a fan of the other Train Valley games, so I was excited to check this one out. I got to the 3rd mission in the game, and a train I bought spawned out of bounds, rendering it useless. I restarted the mission, and the train did the same thing again. Not sure how a game that came out almost 2 years ago has bugs like that. I requested a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just completed it and loved every minute of the 41 hours I have played. (going back in to mop up some Achievements now) It is a shame that so many people have given this a negative review simply because it isn't Train Valley 3. It is an easy going, fun little train/logistic management game that has just enough challenge to keep you glancing at the time remaining bar, but never makes you think that it is going to be impossible to complete any level. With the promise of impending updates,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They took the formula that made Train Valley 1 and 2 great and decided to throw it all away for automation BS. Remove all that and Make Train Valley Great Again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not as good as the previous two Train Valleys, which I loved, and I can't recommend it as I did those. I've now completed the game after about 18 hours of casual, cosy gaming. Train Valley World feels... Rushed and incomplete. A lot of the detail is missing and it does detract a lot from the game. It feels like an Early Release title, but without any promise of improvement. Some examples: Cons: - There's almost no explanation for what you're doing beyond the tutorial (which I turned…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So... Train Valley World is good fun, with some caveats. First, it is "simplified" from Train Valley 1 and 2 in that you no longer have to do manual switching, and trains can phase through each other, though one train does have to stop while this is happening. This is going to turn off some fans of TV1/TV2. Personally, with the larger maps in Train Valley World, I kind of like this change. However, I do think the game would be much better overall if trains could collide, and the game had a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very lukewarm recommend. You must understand that this game is most close to a puzzle game than anything else. The game is advertised as a tycoon game but this game is NOT like Railroad Tycoon, OpenTTD or even Sid Meier's Railroads. Do not purchase this game if that is what you are looking for. This is a puzzle game not a tycoon or management game and a lot of the negative reviews are because the game is advertised as something it is not. There is no open map with industries and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although it looks like a simplified game, the core mechanics dont work properly. Although the game allows you to build more than one platform on a station, the game does not recognise any platforms except the original to load goods. Signals are in the game, but trains dont always obey them. The biggest issue is when they can find a "path" between stations even if they are connected.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I own Train Valley 1 & 2, this is nowhere near as fun or BUGGY as those. I have no idea what the devs were smoking when they made this game. I have over 30 hours in and there have been three missions where I had to start over from scratch because the mission objectives show I have one or two left.. but there is nothing left to complete on the board. Station loading and unloading is a HOT MESS.. nothing makes sense... Have two stations side by side, train wont move because it is at the "wrong"…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice chill puzzle game. Art looks gorgeous, UI is simple to understand, haven't faced any bugs so far. Not really a tycoon or management game. You will face different levels, where you have to do a basic challenge as well as "to get 3 stars on the level, do challenge/time limit" thing. I believe there some kind of stories on each levels, but without briefing, I can only imagine what happens here. Overall, if you want to relax and build trains without any hard challenges, this is the game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a puzzle like the previous Train Valley, with less real time elements (no clicking to send trains or switch rails, no collisions), and more focus on economy and management. It's more open-ended than TV1 and TV2 too. So far, it's been pretty fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game. It's rather puzzly, so not really a simulation in the league of Transport Tycoon, in case someone is expecting that. The amount of ways to block other players intentionally or unintentionally from building tracks or stations in multiplayer is insane though. The things that made us refund it were: - Unintentionally blocking train station building next to industries by building slanted tracks close enough. - Intentionally blocking train stations building next to industries by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Instant buy, and I'm off to play! The previous games were fantastic Insider information: - The developer is a HUGE fan of trains, and you can feel it in all their games. It's clear they were made with a lot of love!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'll keep playing Train Valley 2.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game after signal mode was released. Before that, the game was too simple for my taste.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The developer decided (for some reason) to please some """people that seek challenge where there is no need for it""" with signals mechanics in the game... (which btw was never a thing in the Train Valley series) The result is that now the game is bugged and broken beyond repair... Thanks devs, great job.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little game, same like train valley 1 and 2. Yes, the trains are going through each other. I dealt with the trauma.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Train Valley 1 and 2 were puzzle games; Train Valley World is more like a simple Railroad Tycoon game, with some puzzle features. Because it leans into the business aspects of a train game so much, it's difficult not to notice its deficiencies compared to more robust Railroad Tycoon games. The economy is pretty simple, though it does have pleasing production chains, like coal + ore -> steel, steel + fish -> canned fish. Traffic control in a railroad game can be a thorny problem. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Train Valley World is not as good as the first two games. It does a poor job teaching how to play, it requires a lot of sitting and waiting at max speed to gain funds, the signal mode where trains can crash into each other seems interesting but is more of a chore to play, and the music is grating and awful. Buy the first two if this one seems fun, but avoid this one. It also has the aesthetics of a crappy mobile game, so that's a red flag too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Until they implement "chain signals", this game is broken. I have yet to finish a level that involves signals because trains are stupid and always block each other and end up crashing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Leeching of the series name when its nothing like its predecessors.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played through the entirety of Train Valley World before the update that added train signals, and despite what others have said, I really enjoyed my time with the game. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't just try to copy what they'd done previously, and instead came up with some brand new mechanics that still very much fit the Train Valley theme. If I wanted more of the same, I'd just go back to Train Valley 2 (and I do sometimes), but I also really enjoyed this game for what it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With TVW the Train Valley series goes more into the direction of a railway tycoon game and away from the time management and puzzle TV1/TV2 variants. This makes gameplay more abstract. Instead of sending out individual trains, one manages routes by setting up waypoints and stations that the train then keeps driving in between. So it's more of a management game. In general I enjoyed it and recommend this game to anyone who loves railway tycoons, as long as they know that this is a simpler…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks like train valley 2 but doesn't feel like it at all, this game is very calm and relaxing. If you love the stress of TV2 you are probably not gonna like this, just look at some of the other reviews. I'm actually really enjoying the laid back vibe of this. I never did finish the last couple levels of TV2 as it was just too much to worry about and keep track of while playing. If you liked the look of TV2 but found it too brain burny you might like this more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great puzzle game! A bit different from Train Valley 2, but a solid addition to the series. I suspect most of the negative reviews are from folks wishing it were more similar to the predecessors. If you're after a solid logistics/puzzle game then you will not be disappointed :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the most boring game with trains I've ever played, but when I didn't feel like staring anything else, it was okay to unwind. But then I lost a lot of time due to a bug, and the illusion fell apart
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is too buggy and the co op works quite poorly
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →negative review until they fix the spend 60 stars achievement (you can unlock all items for less than 60 stars)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some cool mechanisms, but its an early access game at this stage. I'd be looking at it more favourably if they had been upfront about that. EDIT: The expert mode upgrade does improve the game quite noticeably, but the signals still seem rather buggy. Trains occasionally unload outside of stations, and collisions occur despite correct signal setups. Still not happy with the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 9 won level... i regret i can't refund. I totally lost the fun of Train Valley with this sequel. It's not train valley, it transport fever ! Without the fun ! You just plan routes, buy some new parcels, plan other routes, and you go play another game while your TVW game finishes itself. In TV2, you miss one star, you immediatly restart. in TVW, you miss on star on a level, whatever, i don't wanna be bored on this level again. And your next update... level editor ? just bring back the fun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can play it casual style and have some easy fun or try to optimize for the best times. Much fun anyway. The price is really fair for a game like this. Also there is a great community for TV2 that hopefully will live on in TVW. If you played Train Valley 2 expect something different. It has similar production chains but plays much slower.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not a good game, it is a broken copy of the Sid Meyers masterpiece, full of bugs, dumb graphics and half assed mechanics. why do i need to switch to "bridge building mode" Sid already showed you the best way to do this. ach
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Train Valley World does what every good Train Valley game does: puzzles, trains, and challenges! The tech tree and specialists can be a bit distracting in that their upgrades are always better but not always the best use of your money, and while the adjustment to ghost trains and stops instead of collisions makes the game easier in some regards, it adds accessibility for younger players without sacrificing the challenge since you can switch into signal mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a fan of the series, but have to say that I preferred train valley 2 over train valley world. This is still fun and I recommend it to anyone that's a fan of these type of games, but just not as big of a fan of this one. Probably two reasons for this. The first is the lack of collisions. The ghosting mechanic is just kind of lame and takes a big part of the challenge out of the game. The second is the weird track jumping that trains do when you setup parallel tracks. It's really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 60 hours logged in Train Valley 2. This is a different game, it leans more towards the management side of things. While I prefer Train Valley 2, this is good too. The early missions are not super interesting, they're more about teaching the mechanics, then it gets more interesting when the levels get bigger. One thing I'd like to see is a lot more sound effects. When you're zoomed out you mostly just get music. Updating review several months later: I've now finished all the levels on…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trains count limit is only way game is introducing any difficulty. Anyway instead of making game challenging it just make it frustrating. In later levels instead of figuring out how to plan your network you spend more time trying to figure out which trains you can move and how to move them to new destination. I like how game looks and works. Anyway in middle of 10th level I couldn't find the motivation to keep playing. I opened new area and noticed that now I have to remove almost all…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love train games, but I'll keep looking for something to scratch my itch. This isn't it. This game just isn't for me. The controls feel janky, the train logic isn't good (no signals, etc.), levels are too short (1-2 delivery objectives). Compared to a Transport Tycoon: Yes, but only if you are limited in choices Compared to Train Valley: No, except they both have trains Compared to puzzle games: No, there is no challenge Back to the drawing board fellas. I couldn't get past the second…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first I thought the tutorial was broken, but the truth is worse: the whole game feels like it was held together with tape. Pausing the game already messes things up. If you do the tutorial steps while the game is paused, they often do not register properly. The train spawns somewhere else in the fog and if you unpause the game, you immediately get an invalid path. The same nonsense happens when you build more than one station next to each other - the tutorial acts like it does not count, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun puzzle game, although I was hoping it would be more like TTD. Still definitely fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not terrible, but compared to the previous Train Valley games it's quite disappointing. A 5/10 when TV2 was a 9/10 for me. I'll get more specific below but it mainly just feels buggy and unfinished. Pros - The addition of schedules and signals is pretty cool for this franchise; it makes it more like a train management game instead of a tight optimization puzzle like Train valley 2 was. - I like that they added that hovering on a city or production building shows a dotted line…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you enjoy trains and strategy, this game is for you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do the following checklist, if you check half of it, you will ensurely enjoy this game, if you check 100% you will love it! - Do you like trains? - Do you like supply chain problems? - Do you like Train Valley saga? - Do you like games with affordable price?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have had so much fun with this game. Trains! Puzzles! Chilled time. Yeah i dont get the hate reviews on this game, its fun, its chilled. Life been a bit ♥♥♥♥ lately, this game got me through some ♥♥♥♥. Thank you excellent developers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With 200 hrs in Train Valley, and almost 1000 in Train Valley 2, I was looking forward to this. The game is different from the others, so don't expect a sequel. Instead you need to manage production lines, and product delivery. The levels can be huge, with areas you need to buy, planning is key. The game runs smoothly, but may take time to get used to the mechanics, such as upgrading trains, or 'Specialists' which boost the train they are assigned to. I have finished this, 100%, but the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Signals update is great. Much more interesting game. Some minor issues such as _sometimes_ buying a new train when an existing train is at the platform blows both of them up. Then issues the other way where _sometimes_ you cant spawn a new train for the second empty platform until a train has left the first. Save often! I do think the engine balance feels off. Pre expert I could not find a reason to have anything other than the fast accelerating train with the ghosting, even more so now with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think most players are reviewing this game after playing the first two train valleys. Since i've never played any of them before this one, i didn't had any of my expectations broken because of the different gameplay loop. Overall I quite enjoyed the game. It's kind of a chill game. It has its difficulties with the timed challenges, but nothing near impossible, until now i found them really feaseable. The art style is really cool. It's nice to see cities growing as you deliver packages.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was expecting so much more, feels like a downgrade from the previous titles. To be fair, it is too easy, 3 stars in the 1st attempt. Where is the board to compete with other players? DLCs from train valley 2 are so much more worth it, got all of them in Epic stores. Maybe from the some updates will get better.
