Solo Dev of Tower of Guns, directed Mothergunship, and co-directed '3 out of 10', Mothergunship: Forge and Battle Train. I like classic FPS games, game art, and making halloween props. #indiegames #gameart #gamedev
unlabelledView post →I want to like this, but honestly it's just not very good compared to other FPS roguelikes I've played. Pros: Good presentation - art and music are well done Cons: Guns are incredibly slow and have no feeling of weight or power to them. They all feel the same and don't change your playstyle at all. Vertical rooms with finicky multi-directional launchpads are not what I want in a FPS of any kind, let alone a roguelike. First boss (didn't like the game enough to try to get past it) is very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little rogue lite FPS game that's perfect for killing some time. No real story to it but it's still plenty of fun. Good variety of enemies, weapons, and mods with some random power ups in the mix.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have I never left a review for this game? Holy crap. I've spent 10 years with the soundtrack on my phone. This is a first-person bullet hell. It's very fast, and it was the testing game for a PC I built back in 2015. I... LOVE... this game. It's packed full of action, secrets, references to old stuff that only old guys and millennials understand, with an utterly irrelevant story stapled on for the sake of fun. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the game at full price, but if it goes on sale,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#Roguelite #Bullethell #FirstPersonShooter all of those things the game #TowerOfGuns can be tagged with a bit of an older title but still a lot of fun with a strange element of bullet hell and FPS that shouldn't work but it does for all fans of either of the two genres I would highly recommend it!

Gameplay Combat shares a lot of similarities with many old-school shooters: fast-paced movement, assorted power-ups, and a lack of reloading. It’s been slightly polished and refined, but it still plays…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The whole game feels rather slow. The weapons you get at the start of the game feel so sluggish and cumbersome, so it was strange seeing the trailer again and notice that there seems to be one gun that fires at a respectable pace. The environments are janky in places but have charm, though I do often find myself wondering where to go in some of the bigger rooms. Can't say I picked up on any story that is driving me to keep playing. It's a shame that I'm left so cold, honestly if any single one…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man this game is the GOAT, they should make a second one and destroy all these lame imatatores today in wash of copy cats. Even after all these years, this game has aged like fine wine, stood the test of time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower of Guns is an industrial roguelike bullet hell shooter. And a rather fun one. A round of this game is short (kinda the idea of a luch break game) and as such you have to save or check points. You die, its over. When you start the game you pick a weapon and a power-up and off you go. Throughout the game you can find more power-up and ungrades to your weapon. The game has no hitscan, so you can dodge those bullets and need to keep the movement of enemies in mind. Each level you play…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR It's a tower of guns. There's a tower and it has guns. And you are in the tower. And the guns in the tower are shooting at you. And you have a gun. And you shoot the guns in the tower with your gun. And when you shoot the guns in the tower of guns with your gun you can go further into the tower. And then more guns shoot at you. And you shoot those guns. And sometimes you get a new gun to shoot the guns in the tower of guns that is shooting at you with it's guns. And so you have to shoot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In 2014, the idea of a first person rogue-lite was pretty novel. Most were still top down and/or 2D a la The Binding of Isaac, Rogue Legacy, and Dungeons of Dredmor, and while some in the 3D realm did exist, such as Eldritch and Paranuatical Activity, Tower of Guns was the first to make an impression on me, and perhaps solidify my love for the genre. It’s hectic and absurd, a true embodiment of a Quake-style shooter, only with rogue-lite elements. And while it holds up pretty well in terms of a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty cool idea for a game and is honestly "okay". The music is repetitive and annoying. This might have been a positive rec in 2014 but it doesn't do much for me today in 2024.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the all time great sleeper hits. If you like rogue likes, bullet hell shmups, or zany adventure games, you absolutely need to play ToG. It's a classic for a reason.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You basically only need to use 40% of your brain when playing, so I found this to be the perfect game to play while listening to new music or watching something in the background. The gunplay is not particularly good so to me being an FPS didn't feel like a big selling point. Decent enough that I can recommend it though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun bullet hell fps from cool indie devs. Got this on PS plus back in the day and am happy to be able to come back to it on PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A wild and wacky shooter rogue-like that's really fun TL;DR: A very well-done and surprisingly unique shooter, with many loadouts, silly humor, cool bosses, enemies and layouts ! Short and fun Time to complete ~4hrs Time to 100% ~7hrs Difficulty: [■■■□□] - Mild to Challenging Genre: FPS, Arena Shooter, Boss Fighter, Rogue-like Unique design and execution that's focused mostly on a lot of destruction and fun. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mothergunship and Tower of Guns are great games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oddly find myself coming back to this over and over, across 12 years. It's quite satisfying, and quick to play a fun session, tho I wish there were user-mods or just more... _stuff_ to access, and better handling for multiple weapons.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is not a bad game, but I'm just not feeling it. You have one weapon, pick ups can power up, but it feel sluggish. For me the whole game feels that way.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mothergunship proves sometimes less is more. Good roguelite fps, soundtrack is great, a lot of secrets that you will probably not find on purpose. The games dry humor in its "stories" is knee slap worthy sometimes. Gunplay is not exactly satisfying unless you get a really good mod/stats at some point in a run, most of it boils down to shooting and strafing until youre the only thing left in the room.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I. Love. This. Game. i love that you can just pick it up and play. no real time needs to be devoted to each run; you just jump and shoot and run and jump and shoot and kill and the gun gets better and you get a powerup and now you double jump, now you have 2 jumps while you run and shoot and jump and jump. jumping, which was 33% of the fun has now just doubled itself, making itself 50% of the fun in the new jump and jump and shoot and run quadrality. then you get a powerup that doubles your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Roguelike FPS with emphasis on towers full of guns! I really liked this one, because each run is always different. Improve stats, blast various enemies and get to the next floor. Didn't find any critical bugs, so that's ok. There's also spiritual sequel - Mothergunship - worth checking out too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"This isn't a bad game. It really isn't. But it also isn't even close to worth $15." -ScouSin That about sums it up. $17.99 CAD is not a fair price for what you get. I'd say it's worth about $2 in 2021, and frankly I wouldn't even pay that. It took me about a half hour to beat. Ended with 1 death. I unlocked some guns and some new starting abilities, but I'm really not even interested in trying them out, or attempting to unlock everything. The controls are way too floaty, character movement is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower of Guns is a fast, chaotic first-person shooter that strips the genre down to movement, firepower, survival, and replayability. Developed and published on Steam by Terrible Posture Games, it approaches the FPS formula from a roguelite perspective rather than presenting a traditional linear campaign. Each attempt sends you through a dangerous tower packed with mechanical enemies, traps, projectiles, upgrades, and bosses. Runs are deliberately short enough to finish in a single sitting,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rating 3/10 Intro Playing this game only reminds me of why I didn't click with most 2010s Rogue-like shooters. Relying more on unfair level design for challenge and luck. I don't think it's a stretch to say it was until Post Void and others similar to it, that the niche finally figured out how to make permadeath feel fair. Positives + Weapons have good impact. + Good aesthetics and graphics. Negatives - No perk or weapon pickups to spice things up. - No permanent upgrades for your character.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower of Guns scratched an itch I didn't know I had — it's a fast-paced, old-school FPS blended with roguelite elements that somehow just works. The mobility is the real star: stacking jump upgrades until you're barely touching the ground while dodging bullet hell barrages feels genuinely exhilarating, and the handcrafted rooms with their hidden secrets and Easter eggs kept me coming back to explore. The randomized storylines are a nice touch, and I actually left the dialogue on because they're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game when I was young, and it has not gotten old to me, I am so happy this game exists, I really don't have much else to say to express the happiness this game brings me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →definitely an indie game. Movement feels a bit clunky and soundtracks leave a lot to be desired. The game would be massively improved with some voice acting and more flushed out story moments. Boss design is pretty cool, but sometimes it's hard to keep up with projectiles and enemies all around you in many moments - especially the spikeroom lol. This really feels more like an arcade shooter you could compare with classic doom, as opposed to what you may think of when you hear "roguelike". If…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played a ton of Tower of Guns, the previous game from the same creators which plays a similar to it. MOTHERGUNSHIP slays yet a more basic take that's closer to a dungeon crawler with guns that tower. store.steampowered.com/app/266110/T...
unlabelledView post →When I was a kid, I used to play with legos and build massive towers. Now that I'm an adult with constitutional rights, I can finally play with those same towers, except with guns. Its a fun game, I got it in a bundle. Oldie but goodie type beat. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →your father wasn't killed by the tower of guns.... your father IS the tower of guns!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Silly Game for Silly Turrets
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tower of guns is a Roguelike fps with voxel graphics and decent handling. I personally don’t like how some of the guns feel but the upgrades and movement feels like and old school arena shooter. I like it short bursts but the menus are a little clunky and favor a controller.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As I booted this up I said "Dang, this is a lot like a crappy version of Mother Gunship..." Turns out, Mother Gunship is apparently the follow up to this game. 100% go play that instead and dodge this one. Since they have moved to a new game this one will never see updates or new content so why play a WAY lesser version of a newer game? Last update was 2018 and it was just a post about the new game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably one of the best action roguelike hidden gems on the steam market, a great pickup if you want an industrafunk bullet hell title to add to your steam library. Please don't shoot the cuddle bots.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who played this game so much on ps4, "HOLY COW WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS 1 BILLION TIMES HARDER THAN THE CONSOLE." Seriously, skip it, even with doing no hugbot kills. Dudebro went all dark souls on the PC port and unless you're a glutton for punishment (and there's games that better cater to that, huehuehue) consider this a skip.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game, simple but juicy. Play this, you wont be unsatisfied.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PC port is a little ruff around the edges but the game play is just how I remember it on PS4.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I used to play this game a lot on Xbox before i had a PC and i'll tell you what i'm not nostalgia blind, this games sucks a fat turd, feedback when hitting something is not great even with mouse control this game feels like a chore to play, tower of guns more like tower of gun mainly because of you can only use one gun i know its supposed to be a bullet hell, but its also an fps even the most basic of that genre allow you to have more that 1 friggin gun, and the starting perk with 3 jumps is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love Balatro. And Brotato. And Monster Train, Peglin, SNKRX, Dome Keeper, Dicey Dungeons, and Tower of Guns (and many, many more). I loved playing em. But, they didn’t end. There was no high note. Runs were quick, and cheap, and beating one wasn’t progress- just maybe an unlock and more game. 4/12
unlabelledView post →*gun to your head* PLAY TOWER OF GUNS RIGHT FUCKING NOW Legit tho the game is such a hidden gem, I love it to BITS. Boomer shooter meets roguelike meets bullet-hell, all in a neat steampunk-themed package with a banger of an OST to boot and random goofy storylines every run. Would die over a sequel
unlabelledView post →Meh, i was skeptical. It's honestly just alright at best. Doesn't give any real content except for the single run you may complete.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Back in the day, I was as clueless about this game genre as a potato at a tech convention. This roguelite masterpiece took me under its wing in 2016-2017, making me feel like a gaming pioneer. Fast forward to 2024, and guess what? I snagged this gem for a mere penny, unleashing a symphony of nostalgic pew pews. Now, let me lay down the ammunition of truth. This blast from the past still hits the bullseye. It's got more staying power than a pun-loving cowboy in a wild west shootout. Sure, you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sensitivity setting is probably the worst i have ever seen, you can go from like 3-6-10-20-30 and so on... You cant access options menu while in the game, you have to go to main menu. For the very little i played, it didn't really do anything for me, enemies where boring, no feedback from the guns, audio design is meh.
