Ubi would make more money fixing the ports of DA and Pandora tomorrow than their last 6 "AAA" titles, but they are neurologically disabled.

I'm a huge fan of the Splinter Cell series. I have been for 20 years. I remember beating Chaos Theory and looking up what they had next. I loaded Splinter Cell's website and heard, "My name is Sam Fisher. I used to hunt terrorists. Now I am one." and I freaked the hell out! I was so excited. When this game first came out, I played it on Wii. I loved it. It played almost exactly like Chaos Theory, and the loyalty system made for replayability to see what would happen if you made different…

This is the inferior "next gen" xbox360 version of double agent and this game is a horrible and glitchy mess. Firstly you'll have to patch it with an official ubi patch which will simply swap some gamebreaking bugs and crashes with a different batch of bugs. Secondly this version of Double agent is piss easy as most of the locations will be linear and bland corridors with enemies as smart as rocks with broken pathfindng and super xray vision. Even if you are a fan of Splinter cell games do…

Read the comments and thought people are exaggerating, couldn’t be more wrong. A really garbage port, you can use whatever workaround or patch/update you want, it does not fix it. Really bad AI on the PC port, bugs both visual/gameplay wise. The only “workaround” to play this game is to emulate the Xbox 360 version on your PC. The graphics are better, the AI ain’t that cooked as on the PC port and of course you have less bugs.

The Steam version hasn't received any patches, and the PC version of the game is bugged and requires mods to be somewhat playable. All that and it's not even that great a game, all screenshots and most of the video on the store page are from the PS2/Wii/Original Xbox version of the game, which is COMPLETELY different to this version, and arguably better.

An absolute garbage port made by disabled apes. Don't buy it under any circumstances, even with all the possible fixes and works like trash and keeps breaking down on you as you play. Better play it through an emulator, or V2 of it the same way.

Ubisoft should be ashamed and offer this game for FREE to those that want it until they fix this game. (Which they won't) Legitimately the MOST glitchy and broken game I have EVER played and it's not even particularly close either. This is straight up robbery. It's a shame because I actually would recommend this game if it wasn't so damn broken.

I hate myself for putting as much time as I have into this game. tl;dr the other reviews are right: stealth is worse, the game's been abandoned by Ubisoft, and even after you get it running there's a good chance it'll be a buggy, glitchy mess. Firstly, the game is clearly abandonware and a terrible port; it wouldn't even launch after installation (thanks Ubisoft). Spent forever troubleshooting, installing and uninstalling patches, and tweaking .ini files just to get it to start, only…

Tested on Steam Deck OLED! The most troublesome Splinter Cell to configure on Deck and PC, but still worth the effort. At first launch, it tries to install old PhysX and Xfire software - cancel both and the game boots fine. No Ubisoft Connect here, which is refreshing. Same community controller layout as earlier entries works well. The challenge is stability: many graphical settings cause visual artifacts, so it’s best to edit the .ini file manually or run on the lowest preset. Once tuned,…

Just pirate this game. No joke, I decided to both buy AND pirate this game out of morbid curiosity. And the pirated version literally ran BETTER since it had the fan patches pre installed, whearas Ubisoft completely neglected this almost 20 year old game with broken AI and bad level design. And so it kind of went to hell with the Franchise. For many reasons bit the biggest one is because Ubisoft needed a release for the new generations of consoles. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While the original team was already underway making it for the original Xbox, using the Chaos Theory version of the Unreal Engine (2,5) Strangely referred to as Version 2 of the game. Because it was released actually later than this next generation version, which is called Version 1. Which is kind of…

Double Agent was already a poorly designed, poorly made game as is on the Xbox 360, with it's nonsensical storyline, abandonment of the themes set up by the prior games, betrayal of the concept of a "SIGINT ninja", hilariously linear level design, terrible AI, a terrible upgrade system that fills your inventory with useless junk and caps out with terrible "Enhanced" Night Vision goggles that become pixelated as you move (and cannot be disabled through regular means), and a UI so cut down as to…

Spent hours trying to fix the game via the ini files and it's just a mess. Managed to get the controller working and optimised but the game just won't have it... Constant crashes, graphical bugs, virtual memory errors despite 20GB GPU etc. Had to request a refund but due to the amount of hours spent trying to fix the game, the 2 hour refund time limit was spent in the FIRST LEVEL before I even got into the actual refinery! Game crashed on the crane and that was the final straw.

This is NOT the version advertised in the screenshots. The Original ps2 and xbox origin versions were well written and almost bugless, this 360 faux mock up is awful, contains to many plot wholes, and in all honestly makes me sad it was ever created when the og version was better in everyway. You probably have noticed that this game has very negative reviews on Steam. Are they deserved? Probably. The game is as broken as reviews are saying. Although, I've seen games with mostly positive or very positive averages on Steam that are way more broken than this one. So it's not too bad. For some reason, as expected from the Ubisoft the game on Steam is not patched. I'd recommend to download the 1.02 patch the very least for a much smoother experience. Splinter Cell Double Agent has two versions, and they are two completely different games. This version is called version 1, but given all its flaws, it shouldn't have been. And with all the flaws mentioned, I think this version was released far too early. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent takes the familiar stealth foundations of the series and places them inside a story built around deception, divided loyalty, and difficult choices.
