60 of 147 · most liked firstThis is just simpler version of Bridge Constructor. Maps are definitely less challenging. Apparently this game is directed to beginners. But is that good game? Yes and no. It is a good game if you didn't play first Bridge Constructor. But if you did, there is almost nothing new and nothing challenging here. VERDICT: If you like puzzle games and haven't played other bridge building games before, this is a game for you. Buy it and enjoy it, you will be surpriced how much fun is in bridge…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple bridge building game. You get so many funds and then use those funds to purchase resources. Vehicles pass over the bridge when you're done and they change colors based upon which part of the bridge is being stressed the most. It's very simplistic and accessible.Only really worth it if you're a fan of this type of game or just want a casual game to waste some time...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Save your time and money but more importantly your money. I was duped into thinking this was like a bridge building game that I played around 10 years ago... That game (being 10 years old) is better than this game. The acheivements in the game do not work correctly. You earn badges depending on material and money spent building a bridge. Even though I met the requirement on several of the badges, I DID NOT GET THE BADGE. Along with this, the game is very short. Also, you cannot see 1st…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bridge Constructor Playground is a little nice game about bridge building. It's not good like Bridge Constructor Medieval, but basically you can make the same innovations. The biggest lack: theres is not really a story. You just hop from island to island to build bridges across rivers or valleys. The variousity of landscapes is also very low. There are three different goals: 1. build the cheapest bridge, 2. build a bridge that can handle the weight stress test at its best and 3. build a…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a dangerous playground if you let me build it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Upsides: - Actual learning value in the area of bridge engineering and understanding of mechanical and physical principles. Even if the physics engine is not flawless and the means are very limited, with the basics it offers it's still a lot of fun. Physics-based puzzles are more interesting than mere logic-based ones. It's more exciting to have that connection to real-life engineering, and it's fun to watch the result play out. - Lots of freedom. Feels like there's not one single optimum…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The controls are too bad. It seems like the game is designed for tablets and not ported to PC well.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No, just no. It's another clone/direct port of a silly phone game. It's designed for mobile platforms (phones & small tablets). It's not a PC game. There's no real strategy, there's no real gameplay. It's a rather boring and useless waste of time. Great if you like that sort of thing, but I really don't. I picked it up as part of Humble, otherwise I wouldn't have it here.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept is simple: build a stable bridge that will successfully withhold large quantities of weight. Connecting platforms to balance the weight and avoiding stress is the key solution to completing a level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent casual game. You are probably better off spending your money on something else though. P.S. - Three of the achievements are bugged.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What you see is pretty much what you get. It's a simple puzzle game of drawing out lines to make bridges. It doesn't try to be anything more than an adequate time waster. Clearly though this was designed for mobile first and the PC port is an afterthought. If simple puzzles are what you want, you could do worse. As for this review, I can't recommend it at this price. There's just not really much here. It's a $1 game with a $10 price tag that just doesn't deliver anything more than what you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game in a bundle and decided to try it out on a whim. I didn't go into it with very high expectations and neither should you. Not to say this is a bad game by any means; it's very simple, but still maintains an entertaining premise that keeps your attention. You're expected to build bridges in a variety of scenarios using as much supplies as you'd like, however if you want higher scores at the end of each level, you'll need to make optimal bridges using as little money as possible…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute casual game. Fun for kids and adults. I love spending a little time playing this game. I can't make a bridge to save my life. Oh well it is a playground after all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →guys that are on MAC OS this game is free on MAC appstore... im quite annoyed that its free in other places and i just paid for this and it doesnt work... spent 3 hours trying to get it to work and downloaded it off mac appstore for FREE and it works fine... very dissapointed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to bridge constructor, this game can range from extremely easy to somewhat complicated. This game has no max on budget, but to get specfic medals you need to fit under a budget, only use a type of material, or make a bridge that doesn't go over a certain level of stress. Overall pretty fun and worth a couple hours of entertainment.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this free from a Humble Bundle. If I had paid money for this I would be incredibly sad, especially at a $10 price point directly from Steam. First Impressions This looks like a bad iPad game written in Unity. Probably because it is. Controls The entire UI is clearly based around a touch screen, with the cursor acting as a glorified finger. You can't adjust sound levels in the game, I had to adjust them in Windows mixer because it screams at you. You can enable/disable the horrible…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is easier than the original title, its more like a DLC to me, you should buy this only if you finished Bridge Constructor.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AHAHAHA! This is even more fun than the original. The graphics are cel-shaded now, and look better overall. The music is less annoying, but still pretty annoying, but that's kind of part of the experience at this point. This is, in my opinion, and overall improvement over the previous game. Any semblance of a pretense to being an actual game is gone. You just make bridges and many of them go PPPPPBTTH KRCHINGK and fall apart, then the truck clips through everything, and hangs upside-down by the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple comics graphics. Unfortunately the coloring of the components is botched. Compression load is colored red, but everything else is green. (Or is it the other way round). Tension and compression are not well colored, which is a pity, because the data are there in the calculations. All elements are green without load. Cannot move the nodes, or did i miss something. No fine grid available, or did I miss that also. I do not recommend this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Refined version of the other Bridge Constructor games. What I like about this game is that it gives you a number of different puzzles or targets to achieve for each map. This makes it a lot more fun than the older versions of the game. For example, you are not limited by cost with your constructions. There is a cost target, but you don't have to pay attention to that if you don't want to. In the other games, you are forced to stay within the cost limits.....not fun at all!! Great, fun little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/U0SYNR0jPYY Little if anything has changed from the original which makes the slow building and mandatory tutorial a true slog to get back to any amount of creative freedom to build.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bridge building in it simplest form, worth a playthrough if you enjoy small games that you can relax while playng. You have 5 objectives per level which gives you something extra to aim for if you like to be a completionist. Value for money? Possibly but I had gotten this game in a bundle a long time ago so can't really judge it for that, in which case I would wait for a sale if you are in doubt.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's nearly the same game like the normal 'Bridge Constructor', but in this one sometimes you have to build the same bridge in three different ways to gain badges.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game in a bundle and decided to play it last night to try it out. It's pretty fun, but not overly challenging, a good introduction to the bridge construction genre of games. Nice easy achievements to obtain, tiny install size and a good way to kill a few hours. Be aware that this is a direct port of an Android/iPhone app so if that is a deal breaker for you, avoid this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally a game where when you mash ESC repeatedly you will actually exit the game... bliss But on a more serious not, only get this on sale, its a great game but im not so sure for the price... its fun and its chepish, but not cheap enough
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a fan. Game's more annoying than fun, you can lame your way through it and I'm not sure I've learned anything at all. Wouldn't spend money on this game, but I got it in the Humble Bundle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Terrible game. Clunky graphics, the UI gets in the way of the game (you can't click on things that *appear* clickable because the UI arrows steal the click), it's a shoddy mobile game ported into a shoddy Steam game. Humble Bundle is the only reason I own it, if you aren't getting it for free then hard pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →you can't build ramps in this game. It sucks. Making ramps was half the fun in the other bridge constructer. there's also infinite money for some reason. This one is dull and boring. Why no ramps when the game before it had ramps
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nothing extra bridge constructor. Perfect.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty much just more of the same as the original bridge constructor. The only sequel that doesn't really add anything, but instead removes features like dragging already placed pieces around. :/
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very basic game... feels like it was designed for mobile and just released for PC. You get unlimited money to build the bridges so it is easy to pass them, but each level does have different awards for building a passing bridge while adhering to certain restraints. The game will be more challenging if you choose to go for those.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bridge Constructor Playground is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a cheap, lazy cash grab. It's a dumbed down mobile ported Bridge Constructor game aimed more at children. The resolution is fixed at a really low level, and the gameplay isn't as engaging as other bridge constructors (and there are many of these on Steam). Combine this with the incredible $10 USD price tag, the same as a AAA game a couple of years after release, and you can see why this is hard to recommend.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Way too short for the price. Talking about a fourth of the time of the original game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While I don't get why this concept needed five or more installments, it sure is a fun little game for a while. It's structured more like a mobile game than anything else, and it has a fairly simple and intuitive gameplay. Thing is, at least in this version, the game gets stale super fast, and with its very small array of materials and vehicles and repetitive puzzle structure, I couldn't force myself to play further than the second world, and thus cannot recommend the title. Still, not a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended, but the least of the "Bridge Constructor" series. The best of the series is Medieval. In this one, it gets too repetitive with having the same scenario, but you must build different bridges to meet the multiple badge requirements per level. Build a truck-worthy bridge really cheaply, then again more expensive but where no piece is really strained, then again using only X-types of pieces.... eh. It just feels too similar to the regular "Bridge Constructor", so I'd recommend…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You want Pontifex? This is not Pontifex. It seems like a port of a mobile game. The music is 2 tunes repeating, and the graphics are way too plastic for my eyes. I also couldn't get onto the 1st real-game island because of the whole "get 25 badges to unlock the next stage" thing. There seems to be no limit on the moneypool, so you can build whatever, however, it will not allow you to progress unless you meat arbitrary challenges, which I couldn't be bothered with. I just don't have time for…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bridge Constructor Playground, developed by ClockStone and published by Headup, is a welcoming and creatively driven entry in the Bridge Constructor series that places experimentation and accessibility at the center of its design. Rather than framing bridge building as a rigid test of budgets and optimization, this title approaches the concept as a playful sandbox, inviting players to explore engineering principles at their own pace. From the outset, the game positions itself as an approachable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. Can be difficult with some bridges, nevertheless I enjoyed it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Designing your own bridges to make it work is really fun, but game makes you feel like you only beat it when you get all medals for each level. The problem is that some medals have way too tight requirements as they are often too ridiculously strict it takes away the creative freedom, which should have been what the game is about.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the simplicity of this one even better got me then medieval but lack of story humor element of medieval was a bit lack of a good taste. In my vision this is the classic BC that is of the most sandbox that really gives mind to fantasies about how your bridge will look like. for me BC are ranked like this: 1.Medieval 2.Playground 3.Classic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s an OK bridge building game with some positives and negatives Positives: There aren’t that many levels but each one has different objectives that you have to complete. This gives good replay value as most of the goals require different bridges. The game is actually a bit challenging as you need to balance stress and material cost. However, the levels do get same-y feeling after a while and there aren’t that many variations. Also, the suspension bridge is wayyyy too strong compared to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →More of the same Bridge Constructor (base game - no trains nor slope-mania). The innovation here is they encourage you to replay each level with different goals: finish with half your money leftover, or build using only wood, or use fewer than 25 pieces, etc. It lives up to its name, it's a playground to get creative with alternative bridges. It is comparatively short though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a mobile port and not a very good. It's yet another bridge-building game. There are hundreds of these and many on mobiles are better than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://cthulhuscritiques.com/2018/09/21/video-game-review-bridge-constructor-playground/]Link to Full Review Major Pros: Simple mechanics that are easy to pick up Decent physics simulation Minor Pros: Multiple solutions to each level Some humor in the fate of your poor test drivers Major Cons: Repetitive levels Unable to move connection nodes once placed Large difficulty spread Minor Cons: 2 out of 5 level badges are meaningless No new mechanics after the first 10% of the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable and relaxing casual bridge building game. You have an unlimited budget so you can make some crazy bridges, but the real meat of the game lies in beating the challenges (like only making your bridge out of wood or for super cheap. Would probably make a good teaching tool for a kid, too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bridge Construction Playground is another ClockStone's remake (first was Bridge Constructor) of old Chronic Logic's Bridge Builder. Aim of all those game is simple - you have to build a bridge that withstands trains, cars or trucks, with resources like wood, metal bars, stone pillars and lines. Despite being very similar to Bridge Constructor, Playground offers more flexibility. Instead of a strict caring about a budget, you can freely build any bridge in any way you like. Every level has also…
