60 of 217 · most liked firstI remember when this game officially released in its early access. I absolutely loved it so much, that I played the five in game day demo for 30 of my hours. I still love it, deep down. The developers were excited, the fan base that awaited this game was excited. All in all, people liked the game. Then the team stopped fixing the game, or heck , they stopped doing anything. I remember people couldn't play on the switch like, at all. Bugs were causing animals to stop eating / drinking, people…

unlabelledView post →PLEASE AVOID! As others have stated this game has been abandoned by its studio, indie.io. They have a history of abandoning games in a poor state if they arent a good enough cash cow. It has multiple bugs that will crash your save and make it completely unplayable. Its such a cute concept and idea, but considering its state i cant recommend it. I love this game, and it makes me sad it'll never get a proper finished form. It could be so succesful in the hands of the right people.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rolo to the Rescue must have one of the most heartwrenching savage game over screens ever. When you have continues you may manually walk out the door. However, when none are left you have no choice but to walk yourself into the cage with the controller and submit. Brutal.
unlabelledView post →Neat thread full of demo themes. Also "To The Rescue!" must've been pretty late-ish in the game considering it's all over the actual score.
unlabelledView post →a sadly semi abandoned game riddled with game breaking bugs. I held off on reviewing this game as I had followed it from its very early days as an idea on social media platforms and I truly loved the concept of a game supporting the very thing its allowing you to play as Now in 2026 and over 100 hours of gameplay in, I have to be honest. The core concept is still great and unique, run an animal shelter, care for an adopt out some adorable pups on a familier but not terribly repetetive…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →in my defense i really enjoyed the Toy Story 3 game and heard good things about Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (and the Bug's Life game that's included as a bonus)

unlabelledView post →As an early access game, I enjoyed it. Was excited to see where it went. But it's INCREDIBLY buggy, bordering unplayable sometimes. It has been completely abandoned by the devs and untouched in almost 2 years, leaving it in that exact state- buggy, and borderline unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is basically abandoned, it has not gotten a proper update in over a year now, no patches, no new features, nothing. don't buy this game expecting it to get better, it's almost 100% that it wont.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, yesterday, i ended up pretty much finishing the entire game of Toy Story 2 Buzz Lightyear To The Rescue in one sitting 😂 In all fairness, it's a short game, it's so much fun, and it's such a childhood classic.
unlabelledView post →I have played just an absurd number of hours of this game, and can confirm that the gameplay loop is actually great. It's a perfect combination of mindless and soothing, and of course anything with dogs makes it extra cute. However! The number of bugs is still obscene. Dogs get stuck looping back and forth within their kennels, causing their welfare stats to drop. Adoptions get stuck halfway through. Doors inexplicably stop working, causing players to spend hard-to-get dollars to replace them.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is abandoned. if you havent received bugs upon loading the game the first time, believe me you will get them. not only does the game seem to have some kind of compounding interest of game breaking bugs, the shadiness of the dev team is also something to concern yourself with. as of 2026, the dev team for To The Rescue!, after migrating to indie.io, not only stopped responding to bug reports years ago, but has abandoned even the discord support server. thats right. THEY LEFT the only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very fun and has so much potential, but sadly the team has seemingly dropped it, so it will never receive a new update at this rate. It comes with a bunch of glitches that break the game to the point you have to restart to fix them. So as much as it hurts to say with how good this game could have been I can't recommend it unless it gets adopted by another team and actually finished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dev abandoned this game with dozens of breaking bugs. a shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At some point years ago this was my favorite game. I had over 400 hours on it before I played tonight. I was sad to see a few months ago it looked to be abandoned, but recently there was an update of a bunch of bug fixes supposedly... The game is more frustrating than enjoyable in its current state. Compared to how I felt years ago, I feel like this game has gone backwards. Helpers are bugged. I see a dramatic decrease in animals being brought in. I cannot use the outdoor play space at all.…

Probably one of the best video games based on a movie. It really captured the scale of the movie and each level is filled with fun collectables Any fans here?
unlabelledView post →I want to give this game a good review, it has good bones and is fun, but it's only fun when it is working, which is rare. I think this game has been abandoned, it hasn't got an update or even a bug fix in over a year. There is a large market for this type of game, and this one had potential to fill it, but with the game breaking bugs, short story, repetitive game play that doesn't get more challenging, and no achievements, it can't. I would love for this game to be picked up and improved on,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice concept, but the game is riddled with game-breaking bugs, some features are unfinished (not a single foster, not a single helper, nothing), the playground makes some dogs just bug out and not count, and they run around the map. Also, the rhythm of the game is off; you can feel that the game is rushing you day after day. It is not fun, it is not relaxing, it's stressful, it is boring after a couple of hours at best, annoying at worst. So, avoid this game like the plague. A side note tho: I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot, in good faith recommend this game. Wish I could get my money back. I have tried many times to play this, even after the Sept 2024 update, but I always get stuck in the damn tutorial. It's pathetic. I tried streaming this for my community and it was a massive let down. Better off playing Cat Cafe Manager or something that actually runs. This would be a super fun and cute game if it worked as advertised, but alas, it does not. It's not even worth $1 with the amount of bugs this has -…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cute, but there are too many bugs in the game. The last "update" was on September 2024. There are still present bugs that haven't been addressed or fixed. You will get stuck in the game almost instantaneously and the unstuck button in he menu doesn't work. If you try and report any bugs on their Discord page, good luck. All posts have gone radio silent with no replies in over a year. Don't buy this game especially if it comes with a bundle. Save your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I know it's cute! I know. DO NOT BUY IT. This is 100% abandonware. So much so that the old publishers, Freedom Games, have cut all ties with this game. With the old developers who have ALSO cut all ties with this game, Little Rock Games, there were massive gaps in updates. Each update contained only one or two bug fixes, if it didn't break anything else on the way in. List of time periods with no updates: - Dec '21 to March of '22 - May '22 to Dec '22 - Dec '22 to March '23 - June '23 to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In all honesty, I can't recommend the game in its current state. Gameplay-wise, it's very repetitive and lackluster. Some of the systems like the happiness doesn't seem to have an impact. I did sign up for something chill though. But it's still so so buggy even after being out for 3 years. Dogs and staff getting stuck in the pens, adopters/owners choosing dogs they don't want/own or not choosing dogs that fit every criteria they asked for. To The Rescue has promise but, it's a long way off…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was such a good game and a good idea, but sadly the dev team has since abandoned the game and there are a ton of bugs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Edit: Yes, the devs recently updated the game after 2 years - please do not take this as a guarantee the game will be totally fixed. There are still game breaking issues. Abandonware, please avoid. Adding on to this: If this game actually ran properly, then maybe - just maybe, I would say grab it if it's on a MASSIVELY reduced discount. But even for a couple of pounds, it is just not worth it. I came back to this game today after like a year of forgetting about it and somehow it's in a worse…

This game can easily fall into the cozy category because why doesn't want to take care of some cute dogs? - The art style is absolutely adorable and contributes to the comfy vibe that this game presents. c: - Gameplay loop. Not even going to lie, the first time I picked up this game, I played for AT LEAST for five or so hours. It's not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game when it originally released, and really enjoyed it. I also liked the idea of the devs donating part of the profit to shelters. I don't know if that was actually a thing that ever happened, but what does seem true is the game was just completely abandoned. Even after they announced that another team was taking over the game to keep it alive, they also seemed to have jumped ship after just a couple updates. Disappointing and honestly just a waste of money. Not sure why Steam…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Promising game that was left unfinished and basically unplayable due to numerous glitches and bugs. Don't pick this up, it's wasted potential at its finest.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was such a cute game and had so much potential! It first launched and, expectedly so, had bugs. However, it was soon completely abandoned by the devs, with no answer or announcement as to why. It's so sad, I hope someone else creates a similar game-concept soon!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game was abandoned alot of bugs! do not buy! game was so cute and promising but to much bad to out weigh the good!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ very nice concept and idea + different dog breeds with wonderful designs + the adoption process is quite well made! choosing dogs according to their preferences including the individual temperament is awesome! - the care feels very repetitive, not much variation - the start (tutorial) is very overwhelming. the actual start afterwards is very underwhelming (i don't understand the choice here) - the whole ordeal feels more tedious than fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played this game in a while, but "To The Rescue!" is a cute shelter management simulation, where you're responsible for their health and happiness as you try to find them a forever home. I own the base game, but the Deluxe edition isn't worth it, as there isn't much music in the game, and I don't find it to be memorable or catchy, just... cute. What I disliked the most (Bad News) > LACK OF UPDATES - I haven't played this game in about year, and after picking it up to write…

While this is an incredibly cute game and I would LOOVE to sink so many more hours in it... It released in 2021 and it's now 2024. The last major content update was Dec 5th, 2022 with a total of 2 updates in 2023. Why are there still so many bugs? Why hasn't there been major content updates? I stopped playing because I had a fully built shelter and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very buggy, even in other consoles. I play on the Mac and Switch, and both versions of the game are unplayable; my switch version can’t even load a save properly. I’ve had this game for a while now, and let me tell you: the devs never update. Only ONE update in like the last 3 years. And it didn’t really fix anything on Mac or Switch. Which sucks because if this game was at least playable, I would easily sink over 100 hours in this game just endlessly taking care of dogs. But instead, we get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good game, it really is. Has me hooked for hours - even with how unplayable it is. Kennels don't work, doors don't work, walking glitches, constantly getting stuck. These bugs have been known for well over 2 years; to report them, I was directed to a dying Discord server that's being filled with hookup ad and crypto spam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have not wanted to write a bad review for this game. I like the concept, its fun to play, and I anticipated being able to play it for some time before its release having seen it in the wireframe magazine. Unfortunately since its release the game has been abandoned. Many of the same bugs that were present at the start are still breaking the game 🫠. Its also unclear whether any of the money has been donated to animal shelters as promised. Its a good game but its been left at a state which is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite my love and appreciation for the game, I just don't think I can give it a recommendation. The good: adorable graphics, good game concept, simplistic gameplay The bad: The bugs, I have found less than many others who have played this game before me, maybe they fixed some however. My main issue is just the difficulty is not enough, maybe it's just the type of person I am, but I cannot just do nothing most of the time. After finishing the tutorial, instead of the game starting it…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, this is a very sweet and cute game and an enjoyable simulation. The artstyle is beautiful, and the animations are adorable! They did very well with this game so far. HOWEVER... It seems like the game is unfortunately abandoned and there's a few bugs that I think no one has any intention on fixing. I LOVE this game, and It's sad to see that there's possibly no progress going forth with it. Overall.. I preach you get this game under the awareness that there are bugs, and likely no…

unlabelledView post →What was once a really cool concept of a game, ended up being released with a ton of bugs. Making the game ultimately unplayable. Despite some of the updates, the game still has a lot of broken features which makes it really hard to progress and even to my knowledge there is no real end goal. I hate to say it, but this feels like it was 100% a cash grab and development hasn't been given to it in a very long time. I would not spend any money on it & if I could go back and refund it I would.…

Yet, when you get past the rose colored lenses it provides you, the game just feels empty and a little pointless.
