What is a game that feels like home for you? It doesn't matter how much or little you've played the game. Each time you return to it you're filled with a sense of peace. You can choose however many you want! For me, it's Four games. -Dragon Age: The Veilguard -Bloodborne -Thymesia -Elden Ring

Finished Thymesia. A short but impactful Bloodborne-lite. Some bosses truly made me work for the win so I'm satisfied as that's exactly what I was looking for. Worth your while if you're into the genre.

A fast paced souls-like that tries to copy Bloodborne and Sekiro with a plague doctor setting. The bad part is the severe lack of content, repetitive level design, and terrible target lock camera. The entire game wraps up in under six hours, forcing you through recycled, drab gray corridors. Enemy variety is tiny, and fighting large bosses in small rooms breaks the camera angles completely. The good part is the brilliant claw aggression mechanics and boss fights. Instead of standard health…

I would highly recommend this game to anybody who is a fan of the sekiro-like games. This game is sort of like a mix of sekiro and bloodborne, with some RPG elements. I think the worst thing about this game is that it is unfortunately kinda short, but it's made by an indie studio and it does have a lot of build variety allowing for good replayability. I also am a proponent of supporting indie developers. If you liked sekiro and/or bloodborne and/or Nioh games and/or Wo Long fallen dynasty,…

78/100 This game was a surprise, a HUGE surprise for me, and a very pleasent one, with the only negative clearly being almost 80% due to an apparent lack of budget Amazing gameplay and mechanics, a very complete skill system, a BEAUTIFUL parry system that echoes that one of Sekiro, and, as few as they are, some very good bosses and enemies, with really cool fight and "fatal hits" that give it a little cinematic touch The lore is simple, direct, to the point, and well done, the length is...…

While this game has great atmosphere and a fantastic deflect mechanic, I simply hated the combat system. There is a wound + reclaim system where you inflict green wounds on an enemy, and then you have to use plague damage to convert that into real white damage. If you do not “clean up” the green damage you inflicted, the enemy will reclaim this health over time. While some players enjoy this system because it forces you to stay aggressive, chain attacks properly, and incorporate a mix of light…

Thymesia didn't want to be just another Souls-like and tried to differentiate itself with a new combat system, sub-weapons, executions, and separate levels instead of a classic open-world. It works out well for the most part, and some of it is even quite exciting ! The issue ? Everything else... The wound mechanic in Thymesia works in a similar way health does in many recent fighting games. The damage you deal with your main weapon is "temporary", and the enemies will recover most of it if…

Thymesia is very short, unmistakenly had a pretty low budget, and it does nothing that you haven't seen in many souls-likes before. The story also is pretty much non-existent. So you have to set your expectations straight - you're not getting into a smash hit. But if you do, what you'll find is a game with pretty good level design, decent graphics, cool setting and bosses and actually a VERY good combat system. The combat system in particular is extremely well-made for such a small game.…

I thought it was ok. What is there is good, but the game has so little in terms of variety. Fun for a couple days, though! I really enjoyed the combat systems and mechanics. Wish there were more than 3 levels, like 6 bosses, and 15 enemies. Ehhh. Maybe wait for a sale?

Thymesia is a compact soulslike that focuses on fast, skill-based combat rather than scale. Performance on PC is stable, with smooth gameplay and minimal technical issues. Combat is the highlight: quick, aggressive, and built around parries and timing. The plague weapon system adds variety, letting you steal and use enemy abilities instead of relying on a large traditional arsenal. Boss design is solid, with several memorable fights that test reaction speed and pattern recognition. Regular…

Gameplay is 100% Dark Souls meets Sekiro. Takes 1-2 hrs. to get used to but once you get the hang of it, both parry and dodge timings feel very responsive. Story is very soulslike bc I had no clue whats going on and watched a lore video after finishing. And game itself isn't too long with 3 Chapters + final boss which makes it compact and entertaining

The least fun I ever have in a game is when the game makes me wish I was playing the game it was reminding me of. Playing Thymesia just made me want to play Sekiro, for example. Playing Lies of P made me think of how much better executed the bosses of Bloodborne were.

A very good even if flawed game, what shines the most about Thymesia is its combat and on that it really delivered, there are a lot of different systems combined into something really satisfying and challenging. I still have my beef with the first boss of the game but that probably was me still getting used to everything it had to offer. Outside the combat, level design(even if it's really linear) and atmosphere it's not the most stellar game but it balances itself out :D.

This game encompasses annoying things other games in this genre have patched out or addressed to some degree. Other games do it better, like Khazan, Black Myth Wukong, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Stellar Blade ["souls-lite"], Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, AI Limit, even the demo for Mortal Shell 2. The combat system just isn't fun to engage with or learn from, because it's so inconsistent, frustrating, and poor in execution. I wouldn't recommend this even on discount, because the game is 4 years old.…

Thymesia is a game that at times you can find extremely easy and at times very difficult. One thing to know is that this game relies on parrying. Without giving away too much - Yes, you can block if you set up the skill tree that way but the game mechanics will have you switching back to parry. When you block you still take some damage. When you parry you inflict damage but that also depends on the skill you decide to go. The parrying in this game is not as smooth as Sekiro but if you have…

This is using rog xbox ally (z2A). U can obviously get higher graphics quality if u increase TDP, but these settings allow for stable and clean image with balanced TDP and battery life

Good atmosphere, good moves, but the first real boss is hell of a steep jump on the skill curve. I'm quite familiar with soulslike games, I like them, gone through most of them, but this is where my frustration won. With at least two phases, at least one undefendable move in his sequences, and some really nasty instakill attacks this guy maxed out my dismay (only DS2 DLC bosses could do this trick, but those were far from first damn boss of the game). I know, GIT GUD. Nope, thanks!

This game is interesting but definitely needs some adjustments. The lack of any voice acting isn't the biggest issue but would have been more immersive for the dialogue. The few bugs i encountered where a bit strange is its mainly due to attacking in elevation would stop Corvus from moving with his attacks. Pros The claw mechanics are fun and unique. It appears that the developer aimed to create a new experience reminiscent of the beloved Bloodborne franchise. However, the game suffers from a noticeable lack of several crucial features that many players have come to expect, such as the presence of engaging non-playable characters (NPCs) and dynamic conversations that enhance the storytelling experience. Thymesia is a great Soulslike, especially considering it was made by a team of just seven people. that’s honestly impressive. It’s not a perfect game by any means, but it’s fun and feels good to play. Of course, there are quite a few flaws, but in my humble opinion, the strong gameplay overshadows them. I’d give it a solid 7/10, especially knowing this was their first entry into the genre with such a small team.

Very little amount of content for the full price. we are talking about like 2 hours of actual content and then several extra hours retrying bosses. I thought this game could be one of the favorites of my souls-like journey. At first, it felt like an asset flip but given its average playtime I didn't care about that angle too much. The plague weapons system was the only thing that kept me in the game; it was fun to farm enemies to get specific ones in the beginning, but after some grinding it felt monotonous and killed the fun. First of all, this is not a well made game. For example, hitbox on your sword is so bad, that it visibly phases through enemies more often than not. That said, the rest of it works fine, and has a lot to offer. While it is technically a soulslike, it feels a lot better when you embrace button-mashing chaos that it encourages. It has a convoluted system of two health bars (one of which is depleted by parrying and special weapons, while the other, actual "health" - by your heavy attack option),…

The last two bosses were really well done and probably my favorite part of the game. Didn’t care much for the story though, it just kind of exists. I found the ability to turn up your parry window for decreased damage reward to be really nice, because it was a nice way to get into parrying without having to dedicate quite so much time (and hand pain) to being a pro at it. A pretty average soulslike, featuring decent combat, exploration, regions, and character progression. The combat is fine—fluid and fast—though the bosses are a bit too difficult. However, the game's biggest drawback is its length. I finished it in five hours without rushing to the end, and this brevity affects every aspect you’d want to develop, learn, and fully grasp—only for the game to end. If you've beaten Sekiro, or enjoyed a charmless run in Sekiro, this is for you. I hope they make another and expand on it; really enjoying the experience and there is so much potential.
