60 of 230 · most liked firstGame has a good foundation but lacks in alot of areas. The gameplay is less about going for special builds etc and more about stacking money and spamming units and u win easy. The difficulty is way too low, i won without trying and just spamming units and speedran to chaos difficulty hoping for a challenge or more ''slow'' thought out gameplay but it still is the same. Chaos increase in difficulty by a very low amount each win and does not feel rewarding when playing as u dont get a feel for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 Satisfying, but very simple and very repetitive. Pros: -Heroes. There are lots of different heroes with unique buildings and abilities. Giving several different playstyles -Satisfying mechanics. Buildings that scale infinitely. Abilities that devestate enemies or give great bonuses Cons: -Weak progression. Each piece of gear gives different stat bonuses in one thing or another. Ranged units do 2 more damage... Start with 100 more gold. I mean, its certainly not useless, just nothing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if anyone else remembers this old Warcraft 3 mod called Castle Fight. It was 3v3 and everyone picked their race at the beginning of the game and built buildings specific to their race that produce units, had special effects, or helped your economy, etc. The units would automatically move down either the upper or lower lanes. This game is a lot like that game. I definitely felt nostalgic while playing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun casual game reccomended by a green man. I wont say which one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've got a bad habit of not playing games that I can't get anymore progression or achievements in--and I played 9 hours of this game's demo during nextfest just due to how fun it is. Easy immediate buy, and I'm really enjoying the full content. Good job devs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun and at an amazing price. The Good: -Easy for PC to run even with many mobs on the field. -Each Commander feel different and unique, allowing more play styles. -A protector Mimic at your base to give you a second chance or kill off an overwhelming wave. -If you lose, you get gold to help you out next game at the start. (Can be reset to zero if not wanted) -Equipment to give bonuses like more tiles, range/melee damage, extra gold, etc.. -Each Chaos mode level is more than…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I saw this game, I immediately bought it. I am constantly searching for good tug-of-war games. As an example, one of the best tug-of-war games is Battle Cats. I'm not expecting every game I go into to be at that level, since it's been added to for over 10 years. Now, after nearly 10 hours of with There Are No Orcs, I can say: This game is worth it. There are 3 things I look for in a game like this: Gameplay You create buildings that make money, you create buildings that make…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun, very cha-orc-tic! A shame that there is no orc, though
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →0/10 no orcs in the game... In all seriousness this is a neat casual strategy game. You pick a faction (human, demon, dwarf), pick a commander (with a unique passive trait, active skill, and unique buildings), pick a stage (some of them have neat modifiers) and go at it. Everything does something. A farm building produces X gold every X seconds. Windmill gives +X gold whenever a production/culture building nearby produces something. Put farm next to windmill = profit. You also get relics…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are no Orcs This is a pretty good game for a couple of evenings but gets old quick. Pick your commander, check their playstyle and just play. Once all basic difficulties are done chaos mode starts where each level gives enemy more hp and different mutator such as you start with all zones unlocked or all units hp sets to 1 or all enemies are ducks. Oh forgot to add, the fact that dev managed to make 3 different races with completely different and unique playstyles is impressive and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% worth the price of admission and then some. I absolutely LOVE this melding of genres. It's almost like 9 kings plus Hero's Hour or maybe more like Super Fantasy Kingdom and 9K. Anyways, its so much fun and the matches are just the perfect amount of time. The commander unlocks and equipment you find and can build are a fantastic progression system. I feel like this game is going to spawn at LEAST a handful of "clones." Hopefully they will each build upon what's been done here and give us…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did you play the old Tug-of-War games back in WC3 or SC2 days? This is it. Buy and place buildings that will either generate economy, generate units, or enhance units. Certain buildings benefit from being next to others, so your base configuration matters (you can rearrange things). You can choose from different leaders who have certain specialties and find gear to equip providing enhancements, get relics which shape how you play mid-match like most roguelikes, level up your shop in matches…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is definitely a specific audience out there for There Are No Orcs, and if you enjoy strategy games that don't require insane APM, it's incredibly easy to lose a few hours to this one. It perfectly blends that "just one more run" roguelike addiction with a constant, satisfying clash of armies. Gameplay & Mechanics The Loop: It's essentially a massive, pixelated tug-of-war. You drop down your buildings to produce a relentless supply of units, and they just march forward forever to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anyone remember a flash game called 'Robotic Emergence' this game heavily reminds me of this. its a great game with 3 unique factions. with each commander offering something new or changing the way you set up. overall a great game -p.s TY Spiffing Brit for showing it off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good auto battler, really similar in feel to StarCraft desert strike custom map. Good progression system with collectible gear with boosts to take on future runs. Good unit/faction diversity and I hope to see more some day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 10 hours in the demo. There Are No Orcs is an excellent tug of war game like Castle Fight from WC3 or Direct Strike in SC2. it's a lot of fun, cheap, there's room to make some truly busted combinations. The difficulty scaling is fun - higher ascensions tend to change the game, rather than just making it harder, so you have latitude to do different things rather than just the 'best' thing. Strongly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EDIT: Changing this review from Positive to Neutral. The problem, is that on certain difficulties, once the enemy castle gets to 40%, it starts vomiting volleys of nigh, unkillable troops. So many times, I'll have a horde of troops, decimate my enemy ENTIRELY--only to give up in despair because i can't fight back against an army of champions. This means, that instead of speed running a victory, you have to drag-out battles until you have lvl 4 / 5 buildings (which can easily take over an hour).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, pretty short game. You'll probably clear brutal in the first three hours, and unless that sort of infinite scaling apeals to you, be mostly done aside from maybe trying out every hero. Worth a couple of bucks, and from a glance it seems like it's updating pretty consistently so maybe there'll be stuff to keep bringing you back.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a commander-driven strategy builder with a deliciously crunchy economy puzzle at its core. Think: draft buildings, stitch together synergies, and pilot a clear win condition under pressure, all while managing timing windows (surges, overloads, tier breakpoints) that truly matter. The loop lands because it’s equal parts planning, improvisation, and engineering: you don’t pray for a lucky run; you design a machine and then stress-test it. What grabbed me first was how distinct the factions…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its an ok autobattler rts game its very easy with even the chaos mode being effortlessey cheesable a go0d 20 hr experience fer only seven pound is decent ig
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Of the 10 hours I played this game, I'd consider only 5 of those to be uniquely enjoyable. It's worth noting that the other 5 hours weren't deliberately unenjoyable, but they just weren't very engaging. As a matter of fact (at least for me) not much about this game is really annoying or infuriating, the gameplay is fair and balanced (if not easy), the requirements for unlocks generally feel pretty grounded, and the game runs fine. It just feels like after a certain point the game just looses…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello there. I'm definitely not an orc and I wanted to recommend this beautiful and fun roguelite auto-battler rts game. Choose the all-mighty demons, dwarves or humans and fight the green disease known as orcs. No mercy (also no Limp Bizkit on the soundtrack... don't know why). Really cool title, give it a shot, you're going to enjoy it. And if you're an orc, then we're already sending our troops to your location. May the green goblin teleport you to the other side before we arrive. Cheers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is straight up just a really fun game, thank you reggie
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →27 hours to beat and get all achievements, never lost a single match - The balance is so off. In the very few rounds where I was about to feel the slightest pressure, the game summons an invincible unit to your side that defends and nukes every enemy for 3 minutes straight which easily lets you come back into the game that you werent even losing in the first place. Remove that awful mechanic or make it a relic. If you want challenge, look elsewhere - If you want to turn off your brain…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About to wishlist a game called There Are No Orcs JUST because the dev goes by "SapientPearwood" on social media and that's a Discworld reference so... Gotta do it. What? We all know I'm a sucker for Sir Terry Pratchett, and anything made by a dev who appreciates Discworld is worth a look.
unlabelledView post →Good game. I wish the enemies felt even one-tenth as distinct as all the armies you can play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool game. I would have never thought to combine Inventory Management with Kingdom Builder mechanics, but it works.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun auto-battler game. You put down buildings and little guys come out and fight. Each of the groups (humans, demons, dwarves) has their own mechanics and buildings. The buildings themselves often have mechanics meaning layout is important. Each commander also has their own active and passive abilities. Finally, the final tier of difficulty (Chaos) has a different "whim" mechanic each level. This gives it a pretty decent level of variation to prevent it from getting stale quickly, there are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game. If you've ever played games like Castle Wars in WC3 or Starcraft this is similar. You build an economy, and unit spawning buildings on your side of the map. Then these spawn units, or generate money on a timer. The units go down "the lane" like a MOBA by themselves, you don't really control them. The most direct interaction you have with the enemy army is through things like your commander spell. It's a very fun concept, and I'm thoroughly enjoying my time playing it. I'd give…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thanks Reggie !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a fun game to play a few rounds, the 3 different factions all feel fun to play and the hero's all bring unique strategies to the table. Combine that with the equipment you have a good amount of builds you can do before you get bored. I do hope they add more commanders, Enemy factions, and Maps to the game at some point.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow, this was a surprise. I like that the chaos challenges were only a slight increase to unit HP and more or less a random game tweak. Some where really easy and some required switching the strategy slightly. Unfortunately, the demons (which are actually just demons for some reason) are way easier to crank out units and reroll relics. Ended up beating about 80% of it with the same commander. I do like the equipment drops, but I'd rather have a loadout option than having to pick the three items…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a bunch of interesting ideas in this game, but ultimately it falls down on overall design. There are only 4 levels in the game and what the game wants you to do is to complete these 4 levels 100s of times with gradually ramping HP of the opponent creatures. This just isn't fun or varied enough to make a good game. A significant source of variation is that you can choose between ~30 commanders, which play quite differently, and you get achievements for completing each, but you can get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very satisfying, factions play very different and are great fun, altho some heroes seem to be rediculously OP and just outscale everything
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun to learn how to use each faction as they're actually played differently enough from each other that it's fun. But... please nerf Xerth. He trivializes the game. Doesn't matter who you're fighting, and on what chaos difficulty (I'm on 53 RN so idk if that's high yet) but I beat everyone sub 5 mins. Lemure pens + Soul Crystals is too OP and I'm able to ramp fast enough to break 1st tower by 1min 30s most games with just lemures. If I get lucky and get the exploding or splitting on death…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game. I'm a big fan of auto battlers but there are so many bad ones that I feel like I'm just saying that I am a fan of bad games. But this game is awesome. There Are No Orcs is everything I want from an auto battler. Multiplayer could be cool, but I don't think it's that important. What is here is a lot of fun and I hope it keeps getting additional content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun base-building tower defense game. It plays very similarly to games like The King is Watching, where you are juggling economy, space management, and defenses all at once. This game does the formula quite well, with the relics, characters, and Chaos modifiers all contributing to high replayability and lots of roguelike "pop-off" combos. The only element of the game that I didn't care for is the equipment system, but even that is still yet another way to further mix up your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, the game has enough raw content (30 Characters) to get you your 1$ an hour enjoyment out of this 9$ game. However, I really like playing about 3 characters and dont care enough off to try the other characters. Well in that case there is an extremely limited amount of mechanics that changes each game (roughly 10-20 minutes). I lost interest after about 7 hours but forced myself to play roughly 20 characters. I'm still recommending this game because I had enough fun for the price tag for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First Thoughts People refer to this game as an "idle" game which I find a tad odd coz I'm never spending time doing nothing when playing this title. I'm always pondering what to buy next or the arrangement of my base etc. I'd call this game a "reverse tower defence" game because it's you that're literally destroying the towers and not defending them. Too Easy The game can be super easy, as in, zero challenge. Once you unlock the demons (ideally selecting the character called Xerth), all you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The perfect combination of auto battling and strategy, reminiscent of the Warcraft 3 custom game Castle Fight. The game ramps up as the round progresses requiring you to slam down buildings and manage their position, it really nails the feeling of endgame RTSs when you have loads of resources, without the panic of needing to manage your army. Overall a great experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, played the demo for 7 hours on the last Steam Fest! It is simple to understand, hard to master but super fun and relaxing too! I see the Dev implemented some features suggested by the community, thanks a lot!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very repetetive. Good time waster, but not much else. The loot system is tedious, and everything seems to be made to tick boxes rather than engage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My account has thousands of hours poured into games, but this one is my very first perfect achievement game. It is probably the only one where I literally just enjoyed playing it without even feeling like I have to grind, just having fun trying every commander and their different playstyles, and how some of them interact with some silly Chaos levels. I'm not saying it is THE perfect game, there are definitely minor bugs and things I wish would have been more (like unique bosses in certain…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so fricken peak, love that there’s no orcs! Orcs are very scary and give me nightmares, so the lack thereof is very calming and peaceful. Huge fan of games like this one, feels very nice and has good mechanics! I love the first human character! Very cute!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Y'all have no idea how long it took me to find a good auto battler roguelite game. The game has some shortcomings regarding the meta (some relic combinations are outright broken) and relic diversity. However, the meta progression and faction diversity makes up for it. Game is easy and fun yet also as hard as you want to make it at the end game. I also have a huge dislike for orcs so this game fits the bill perfectly. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a genre I don't see enough of, macro management RTS. This one seems simpler than it really is, the strategy of what buildings to build and when is pretty substantial, and I got a ridiculous amount of fun playtime in this game for $9.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to get into base building autobattler. Very straight forward. Each leader has quirks that open up new ways to prioritize/arrange your base building. Great quality of life features to manage a non-offensive inventory. Difficulty tuning is on point for a working adult. Went with my guts as soon as I saw it on a stream and it paid off. Very fun game and you can put it aside when you've had your fill. My advice is to move around to the different races instead of trying to complete all the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving the game, its so cute and the music is so soothing. gameplay is fun and tons of replay ability Dev please add 3x and 4x time speed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some feedback: > Stacking gear with increased starting gold makes most games too easy, even on chaos 100+. > I found I was spending more time spamming buildings than watching the battles, which takes away from the fun. Could be fixed by "pre-placing" buildings so they get auto-placed when purchased? > An improvement to the loot and crafting systems is well needed. > A post-battle summary is missing. Overall good fun, looking forward to returning after some balancing and additional content…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun for a few hours maybe a few days, but worth it, easliy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not usually a fan of auto battlers.. But this is really not like others. It's very active and as fast paced as you want it to be, as you build up your stuff in real time while all the action goes on, and has a high speed mode you can keep on (and still win if your good and using the OP demons faction) So yea you end up playing a lot and not just watching stuff like other autobattlers. I'd describe more as a strategy game with real time with pause combat. Very straight forward at first, but…

(Version 2026.01.21) Rating: 7 1/2 There Are No Orcs: is a “tug of war”, auto battler, city builder, tower defense, with some RTS and roguelite (rng) elements. You have the species to select from “Human”, Demon, and Dwarf, and in for each species you have 10 different commanders. These commanders will bring different passive traits, different skills, and unique buildings. And to be expected not everything is perfectly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't let the pictures fool you, this is a really great RTS game. I highly recommend downloading the Demo, to see if you find the GAMEPLAY and mechanics interesting. The actual full version got tons of champions, Relics and unique compositions, you just dont get access to them in the demo. Will be playing for atleast 40 h to devour all the content. Won with combos in atleast 20 different all satisfying ways. Amazing game, don't miss TRYING it out, make sure to buy if it ends up being…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun, strategic, and can be mindless. :-)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game scratches all of the itches that a deck builder scratches without all of the bad bits of a deck builder. Difficulty scales nicely and there's a lot of variety in play style commander to commander. Definitely can recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can only meta the game, the difficulty is illogical. Demon clown or succubus is to op. With that being said any other character the enemy just goes into you're base and your minions don't go and kill them so you lose.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun little game. Looks like devs don't work on it anymore, but would still buy and if it is on sale I definitely would. Lots of cool builds and synergies to play with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its good fun for about 30-40 hours, need a game like this with multiplayer pvp <3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fantastic but the catapults/cannons are a 100% win con and I think they need to be nerfed on both sides. I have never lost when I start to produce them, and I have only won when my enemy is producing them by producing them myself. Other than that, this is a really really fun game. Good work, underpaid Chinese devs.
