Easy point and click game mechanics Nice scenery You are in a post-pandemic world with a unique time travelling remote. That part was fun. Some items are available in the daytime, some in the dark. None of the puzzles are difficult. There is one at the end that you can easily overthink :-)), don’t. Another unique feature is the QR codes you find scattered about. Scan these with your phone to trigger…

unlabelledView post →The World After has been good fun so far! Although I am nowhere near finished with the game yet, I was compelled to write a mini-"review", seeing as (for some reason) there are no other reviews written yet. It's a beautifully-shot game, with cinematic videography. It looks great. Thus far, it's a seamless FMV/interactive game where your choices matter vis-a-vis progression of the storyline. It's a brilliant idea for a storyline, too (especially w/ the present-day wordlwide pandemic situation).…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the backgrounds are great and the acting is fine, the actual game itself falls short of its potential. The point and click puzzles are entirely unrelated to the plot and often nonsensical. The sci-fi elements in the game COULD be used well in a point and click game to make puzzles more interesting and flesh out the world, but they're sorely underutilized. Using them is less of a logical step you realize you must take to solve a puzzle and more of something you just resort to. All of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short point-and-click full-motion-video (FMV) adventure, not an interactive film with binary choices like the Wales Interactive products. Quality video footage well shot. Nice environments in countryside France. The plot was somewhat interesting but awkwardly told in part by scanning QR codes (in game) and watching around ten 1-2 minute video logs, especially with the fat actor hamming it up. I didn't know how to proceed in the castle because I missed a place I was supposed to go in. Objects…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this yesterday and played through it. The work done on the camera, cinematography are very well done and I feel like the way it was presented was very heavily inspired by Gabriel Knight 2. What I mean by this is how is displays the main character in each scene. This presentation was also done in Phantasmagoria 2 and it's nice to see someone borrow pages from those two games for an FMV adventure. Overall the puzzles were easily display and clear and precise except for the final…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately the audio only seems to work half the time. Technically you could still play with subtitles only as they still work, but that isn't good enough for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The producer of this title was kind enough to provide me with a key. I recommend this game to people I don't like. I spent several hours trying to probe the alien so to speak, but I got the VERY BAD ENDING achievement. This made me feel VERY BAD inside and so now I am just feeling empty. Honestly I recommend getting this game for free from the producer if you can, because I would not spe----- This game is a heart pounding adventure that grips your very soul from the start and you just cannot…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very charming FMV game, in the vein of Contradiction or the recent Dark Side of the Moon. Low budget but really well put together, although quite short. Different endings help improve replay value though. It has beautiful countryside France and solid acting (Jean-Claude Dreyfus is a delight). There is a lot of absurd humour hidden here and there, which I really enjoyed. This is clearly a passion project from the small dev team, and just for that and the amount of work it takes to create a FMV…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →BUG, UNPLAYABLE, no left arrow on the third screen
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the FMV perspective with real actors. However the game was too short (less than 2 hours to complete) and really made no sense. Dont see why we have to guess what was happening. Just tell us in plain english for goodness sake.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice point& click experience. The game isn't long (between 1 and 2 hours to complete) but is definitely worth it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but sweet game. The quality of the film shots is really nice, and the story is well written. The second half of the game (from after the mansion gate) felt a little too linear, as you can only access one or two screens at a time. If you missed a lore QR-code at some point, you will realise this only in the very last game scene, forcing you to replay the game to get the true ending. A more open approach to the map would have been nice. The puzzles were simple but consistent with the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice game. Very pleasant to play because this game has beautiful pictures, the story is original, and there are funny moments. Controlling night and day, you can make time traveling, I love it. You can save your game. Good atmosphere and sound design. It is not very hard to play but it was a pleasure to take the time to visit all the levels of the game. Indeed, it's well filmed and visual effects are nice.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The World After is an ambitious narrative adventure that blends classic point-and-click design with full-motion video storytelling to create an experience that feels closer to an interactive film than a traditional game. Developed and published by Burning Sunset, it places the player in the role of Vincent, a writer who escapes pandemic-era Paris for the quiet isolation of the French countryside. What initially appears to be a reflective retreat meant for creative focus gradually transforms…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very decent FMV game. Very Quirky and well written. It has a couple of different modes. The retro filter and visual novel mode make this a treat to play. This is a game that most people will pass by which is a shame. There is some funny bits in it, and some very strange parts too. Its not too long either. There are 3 different endings too. If your a fan of FMV games. Please get this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked it, it's a nice and well shot and acted little FMV game from France during the pandemic. Didn't really follow all of the story (chat logs etc.), so not sure about that aspect of it, but the scenes are nice and idyllic, the point&click gameplay is easy and the puzzles and stuff aren't that complicated or hard. There is some backtracking and repetition involved, but you can skip scenes and interaction animations, so it isn't that tedious. It has multiple Endings and if you get the best…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its beautifully shot and the controls are solid but the story was just okay and the English dub while appreciated was hit and miss. Also you can't click to skip scenes so going back and forth or just replaying for achievements can be a bit tedious. Regardless I'm giving it a thumbs up because there is not many proper point and click adventure games in full fmv. A lot of the fmv games are basically interactive movies with just a click to move to the next scene (wales interactive I'm looking at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The World After is an FMV game with gameplay similar to Contradiction: Spot the Liar. A writer has recurring dreams and the answer to their meaning lies somewhere in the French village where he resides. It's an interesting set-up, and while there isn't a great deal to the plot, I liked what there is. Unlike most modern FMV games, there is only one choice in this game to make. It isn't the sort of game where you make many choices, and from those choices come many variations in the plot.…
