60 of 215 · most liked firstDO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!! The developers abandoned this game in 2024 and left it as a unfinished buggy mess. Thousands of backers from Kickstarter and Early Access were spit on and blocked/banned when we objected to them leaving us in the lurch. Boycott all games made by Crytivo
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game started out as a great idea with so much potential to expand. I do not recommend buying this in its current state, especially for 30$. The devs have a habit of getting a game 90% complete, calling it 1.0, and then going off into the sunset to start the next one. All they needed to do was devote a single dev to finishing a few little things and the game would have been in a mostly finished state. There are long standing bugs, and no future patches. Even worse, no modding to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved this game, but the devs abandonned it like they do with all their games. Really sad, it had a lot of potential and was quite unique. Lost gem
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game got released in a worse state than the last Early Access build and got abandoned right away. It's an interesting take and has some nice ideas, but a lot of it was left poorly tweaked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's abandoned, The moderators of this page edit this page about once every year (as you can see in the last edited tab) so steam doesn't disclose that this game is abandoned before you buy which is extremely scummy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been abandoned by the developers, they announced it in their discord. They made a promise to never abandon this game and to finish it. They abandoned it to work on a Stardew Valley ripoff. Do not support these developers, do not buy this game, or any of their games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Came back to the game after quite a while, played it in EA and found it awfully cheerful. Now I have come back to look at it again and enjoyed it up to the point where I travelled to other planets and it seems the game is still unfinished. There are robots that don't charge. So if you are planning to travel to a planet that is i.e. a frozen planet, your people will freeze and the bots discharge and can't be charged other than with your god powers. Other Exile nations keep attacking even though…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead Game. Dead Dev work. Hopped for a lot from this game. Do not buy. Especially at the price point. As others have stated, bugs are everywhere and there has been no update since December of '24.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't usually write reviews but this one royally pisses me off. I've been a supporter of this game since before it was on Steam. This was one of my favorite games. I recommended it so many times. It's been over a year now since Crytivo has abandoned it. Doesn't make any sense to me. They had plans for it and now they've left it unfinished. I'll never buy another Crytivo game again after this. Don't bother buying this or anything else from Crytivo.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was awesome during early access, passionate developers listening to their community and updating often. After it exited EA, the devs just abandoned the game after hyping and making money. It's a shame as it had major potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy. Clunky controls. Missing features that were said to be in the game or would be added. Space age is absolutely horrible. Spore did a better job with space age than this did and that game is how old now? This game had a lot of potential, but they got it to version 1.0 and walked away, after removing features, like sandbox. It's just gone. Not even an option anymore. Scam company. They took donations through kickstarter to make this game and then gave a big FU to everyone that bought the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has bugs and missing content that should had been there. Also is no longer getting updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I backed this game way back when it was in alpha and bought it when I had the chance again on steam. Now almost 2 years later the last update from the devs is from 24-12-2024. I played through every update and started a new world everytime, getting excited for the next update. I'm really sad the devs abandoned this game, because it has been one of my favorite games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't in good faith recommend this game even though I think it is alright. The price is much too high for what it is. It's fun for a little while, and then it immediately starts to drag and get boring. When you hit the space stage, there's nothing new. It's just what you've already done again. The exile system doesn't work properly and exile civilisations will attack constantly regardless of relationship, meaning that trading and the airport don't do anything because you're constantly having…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately unfinished, even as of v1.0.2. The developers had an absolute gem of a game in the oven that just needed more time to bake before starting to cook up another game. It is now abandoned and no longer being updated as far as we know. You may have fun with the game, I certainly do from time to time, but if you are looking for a finished city builder with proper balance, depth and progression, steer clear and look elsewhere. Will update should the game get picked up and worked on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game when it was in early access thinking the bugs would get fixed and new stuff was gonna get added... that was 2 years ago there have been no updates...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Backed this game way back in its conceptual stages. They really fell short yeeaaaars after they started taking peoples money. Definitely unfinished, people like me have burned through every new update, hoping they would really get to the point where it is more fleshed out and delivering on claims, are done with it. For a new person looking for a civ builder, sure its fun and you get a rise out of it. I recommend it for new players, at a lower price point. But for the folks with rose colored…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is about as exciting as watching paint dry. There's no real tutorial - or at least if there is it stopped working 15 minutes into starting to play - so I have no direction in this game. Oh to be sure there's a tutorial button but after about 3 instructions it just stopped idoing anything. At least it told me how to move the camera I guess? The common answer on learning this game is "go watch YouTube videos" which isn't exactly how I want to learn the very basic objectives of a game. So…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has every potential and reason to be great aside from one fatal flaw: research. The massive tech tree in this game is locked behind timers that cannot be altered. You cannot speed up the research, so you hit a bottleneck pretty fast where youre just waiting to progress your civilization with literally nothing to do. If that mechanic were changed the game would be great, but of course its an older title by now and wont. Most of my recorded playtime is me letting it run for a few hours…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another abandoned game that would have been so nice with more work but they stopped supporting it. They ran out of money ? A meteor fell on the studio ? I don't know. That's the reason why I don't buy Early Access anymore, I've been burned too many times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine giving a (completed) game a negative review for not getting updates any more. Kids brought up on live service games should not be allowed to review games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I suppose it would be fine if they fully released version 1.0 before the full game was finished...... if they at least planned on finishing half the game they started.. "We want to clarify that we’re not stopping support for The Universim. We will continue improving the gameplay, releasing quality-of-life updates, and fixing critical issues and bugs. Seeing your love and passion for the game, we decided to spend just a little bit more time with the game and give you what you’ve been asking for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asked on their discord years ago if they are abandoning the game. One of them told me no... they lied
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ABANDONED GAME DO NOT EXPECT UPDATES OR FOR IT TO GET BETTER.........if you insist on buying it still get it on sale
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to like this game... I originally backed this project, I played from creation until they implemented save files thenforgot about the game. Jumped back in years later and after 13 hrs playing... Im not having fun. there isnt any game play, you cant place things where you ant them, its just chaos with nuggets and not in a managable way.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't know if the reviews are botted or just mindless drones (so the usual), but the game is fully abandoned, not updated for two years. Avoid, if you're looking for a game with updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont BUY! might seem enticing but gets boring fast its basicaly an afk sim
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: I can recommend this game, especially if you catch it on sale. There are many things I liked and only a few I didn't, so the overall balance is definitely positive. :) So, what did I like about The Universim? The Narrator! He has such a calming, deep voice that really relaxes me. It suits the role perfectly and he’s a genuinely well-written character. His comments are interesting, witty, and just pleasant to listen to. Speaking of humor, that’s the second thing I really enjoyed. To be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hasn't updated since 2024. gameplay is repetitive and boring, with nothing much in the way of anything interesting - it's essentially the exact same gameplay loop over and over again, and a lot of the mechanics aren't very intuitive don't buy this, it's not even being updated and isn't fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah not very good at all. Glad I only paid 4 bucks for it. Pretty boring and the world constantly being curved is pretty annoying. Weird, feels really old (I guess it is) but also abandoned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is almost no freedom. The game is based on timers so forget about any rapid expansion or specialisation, yuo just go by the discovery tree and do as you are told. It is also buggy (out of my two games broke due to a bug). It is nothing more than a copycat of multiple genres with nothing new.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →still lots of issues to fix, especially at the beginning of late game the game often just decides to stop doing anything or just letting your nuggets die and have you wait for hours until it has recovered. balancing is a huge issue. e.g. energy grid is down because for quite some time, because the game has decided there will be no sun and wind at all for almost an hour playtime.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandonware. Stay away. I bought into this developer a while ago. Was keeping up with it all the way. So many bugs every time I tested it out. Now they've 'finished' and barely achieved anything they promised.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game isn't bad, but it's not good either I think Universim is summed up best by its graphics and graphical performance: the graphics are okay, not astonishing or massively detailed, but I still had to turn down all the settings to get the game to run without lag after my civilisation got to a certain size. That's kinda the story with the entire experience. You play as The Creator and help guide a newborn pair of creatures (nuggets) into building a society. Discoveries are made over time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned and unfinished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I spend a little over half of my game time sitting around waiting for research to complete. And I am constantly forcing my nuggets to marry manually in order to keep my population above 100, which uses all of my creator points so I can't really do anything else besides refill the lakes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm one of the old timers who longs for a game that scratches the Black & White god game itch from back in the day. At first glance, Universim seems to deliver on that promise, question is whether it holds true. Let's start with the good, the idea of a round planet that you see in its entirety, good animations and colour palette, love the day and night cycle over the planet and the overall vibe of the game. As you slowly unlock more technologies and buildings, you get the option of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Clearly not done, but the devs are done with it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This should've been a great success, alas it did not deliver on itrs promise and it is very much more an idle game in disguise with minimal interactions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned by devs after release game had so much stuff that was promised then the devs removed it while claiming they never promised it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love the game just wish they would update it. gets boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Universim: a new civilization appeared. Let's see if they do any better then yours Me: *throw a thunderbolt on their building in construction and watch them burn* Just a fan of Black & White that was waiting for a good god game for too long... 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned by the devs. Don't waste your money.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its abandonware. Crazy part is that it had really good potential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The early access was better and now they released trash, then out right abandoned the game in a buggy mess. I know I will never buy another game from this dev.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lot of promise for this game. Played it, and loved it. However, once you "beat" it, there's no point in replaying. The Devs seemed to have abandoned the game, which is a shame. From someone who want wanted a City Building game, this cames so close to almost being perfect.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I pre ordered this game when it was still a concept and its fine. I enjoy it. Its abandoned and a lot of stuff was clearly rushed towards the end. I can recommend it at $15 but no more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No Recent Updates :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had an incoming meteor strike and the game decided to lock me in a cutscene for 2 min straight while i watched helplessly as my buildings blew up. Abandonware slop
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is so much wrong with this game that it's easier to say what's good about it. It launches! Actually that may not be a positive because once it does launch it does everything it can to frustrate you. There's a long period where aliens attack your planet every 5 minutes, destroying buildings. After an hour of that a massive alien thing comes destroying everything in its path. If you manage to still want to play after this be prepared for building constantly deteriorating and crumbling. So…
