Wish I could recommend this game as it seemed very promising at the beginning but I can't, it's too linear and bare-bones. Also the graphics aren't the best neither is the story. Not to mention the game is filled with bugs and glitches where the people look like they were possessed by the devil himself judging by the way they turn their heads.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only got this because Funhaus played it for their demo disk series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly not a bad game at all, considering this game was essentially made by one man.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you ever wanted to experience the gameplay of Hitman in fps with indie stlye - and with significantly worse execution - then I would recommend The Slater to you. Otherwise, it's best avoided.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who's heading to the game today? The Slater clan will be there, and it looks so pleasant, albeit a cool breeze. #wiwx #GoBrewCrew #ThisIsMyCrew --4.26.26--
unlabelledView post →Not bad. A first person low budget Hitman game with unintentionally hilarious cutscenes. The biggest problem is the fact there is no option to save during missions, only after you completed a mission. There is no cloud save either so I lost my save file. Overall it's not bad.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You should add auto or quick saves to your game. It's not 1990's anymore...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There were no technical issues, but the gameplay is lacking, the AI is poor, and the levels are linear. I think $9.99 is asking too much. The game can be completed in 4-5 hours so it falls below the dollar per hour metric. It has been on sale at 90% off for $1.49, and I'd say that's a fair price if you're interested in a low budget noir-esque first-person Hitman game with a "you killed my father" revenge trope. Unity engine (build 5.3.8p2), but does not have a native Linux version. However, it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Budget Hitman and fun. Amazing work by 1 man. Cons: Game is too short.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game for sale, very short game, only 6 levels & you can choose 3 difficulty settings. I would recommend this game if you are a fan of stealth games. It has a good story that I enjoyed. It's sort of like 1st person Hitman. For an indie game developer, it's pretty good, I would rate it a 7.5/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No way saving game you die you go all the back to the begining
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mark Slater is a former Mafia cop avenging his father's death. And also continuing his work of finding those behind the creation and distribution of a new drug. Pros: + Game made by one person + Stealth + Multiple ways to eliminate targets + Achievements + Trading cards + Great soundtrack Minuses: - No ability to stun civilians - Many characters can pass through the hero - Monotony - Optimization Total: Hitman-style game, but without the ability to complete the game without killing. Get into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is not much to add - a good project from one developer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Frustrating little game but very rewarding when you get the job done smoothly. Get it on sale if you like hitman style sneaker games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty good first person Hitman-esc game, where you play as Budget Bruce Willis. Played for quite a few hours, and had fun for the most part. Would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →budget hitman... i almost finished the chapter but got caught in the end. F u for for not having manual saves or at least checkpoints.. now i gotta repeat the whole chapter from start. but ya recommended

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Temu Hitman 47. Its great!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Slater is a highly ambitious Hitman clone from a solo developer with clear love for the industry and genre. However it is a generic, clunky, and awkward mess in terms of gameplay, and I could never recommend this to anyone outside of a joke purchase. Despite that, I genuinely believe that the solo dev behind Laina gave this game their all, and I think it shows with its level design. A surprising level of care went into how the levels flow, how you traverse them, and how lived in they are.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Obviously I did not think this game would kick Hitman off it's throne when it comes to assassin/stealth games so I did not expect that much going into this one. The Slater is basically a Hitman game stripped down to the bare minimum. Obviously in all of the 6 missions you have to kill a bunch of people. The way how to do this is trying to find clothes and/or keys/passes. Most of the time killing the people that wear these clothes is the easier way. Once you walk into a restricted area or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very jank Indie BUT a fun one! There are no checkpoints but you can do one level quickly in a comfortable sitting. There are multiple ways to complete your missions and even pacifist options. This is Wish dot com's Hitman but it does it well for what it is. Fairly impressive tbh.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought and played this solely to reminisce about that short period of time Funhaus played it as I enjoyed the sh*t out of that whole series. Hope I get to a point in life where I can just kick back, relax and enjoy a nice cold can of God Beer™. One can only hope. If you are somehow curious about the game itself, I think it’s rather like the game your granny gets you thinking it was that one “Hitman” game you want more than “Hitman at home” (and yes, there are slight differences between those…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor writing, janky gameplay
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its like if Hitman was written by a bunch of teenage boys. the story is generic and the locations cater to a certain type of male audience. That said, the mechanics are good enough to have something to casually just play around with. recommend if you dont take it too seriously
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so awful that it manages to loop back around to being incredible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Slater is a low budget Hitman clone with the level of technical prowess that puts it closer to the older game of that franchise, but even then it still lacks a lot of important quality of life features, like the ability to manually save mid-level. There's also some equally weird choices like not being able to take the disguise or items from a body if you already hid it. Basically the game feels undercooked in many aspects. But the core fundamentals of the game are still solid; it's a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slater is chill af and a bad ass mofo. Good story with a likable main character. The game isn't very long but the atmosphere is nice and builds a lot of tension. A fun, quick little game with some good achievements to unlock. Would like to see Hitman and Slater team up on a mission sometime. If you like stealth games give it a try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Slater takes place in a gritty, drug-devastated world where strip clubs and sex dungeons are everywhere. Former cop Mark (the) Slater has to put an end to it. So he gets information on people who are involved in the Business and kills them. This is accomplished by collecting clothes, keycards, and codes that allow you to unlock better clothes, keycards, and codes until you reach your target. Then you shoot them, hide the body, and go for the next one. Assassination-style games live and die…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Review of The Slater The Slater plunges players into a dark and gritty underworld, where former cop Mark Slater seeks revenge for his father’s murder and aims to dismantle a deadly drug operation. This indie game promises the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of a perfectly executed plan, offering a familiar yet unique experience for fans of the Hitman series. As Mark navigates through dangerous environments, he must eliminate those responsible for his father’s death and bring down the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From Cop to Ghost: The Slater Mark Slater's story is a dark one. It follows his descent into the criminal underworld after his father's murder. The narrative unfolds slowly, revealing details piece by piece as you progress. There are no flashy reveals, but the weight of Mark's grief and his growing determination for justice are palpable. As a stealth-focused title, the game emphasizes careful planning, patient observation, and precise execution. The controls are responsive and intuitive,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pleasant stealth game experience The Slater is a unique stealth game, it is simple, but very enjoyable, You'll be spotting the same 3D character models and hearing the same voice lines over and over, simple mechanics like "collect a keycard to access this room", "collect another keycard to access the room inside that room" and so on. Things like that didn't bother me at all because of the following reasons: 1. It is a short game, you don't have to worry about doing the same things for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you need to take a contract out on someone and you can't afford Agent 47, then Mark Slater is your man. This game is essentially a discount version of Hitman. It's not challenging and it's quite short. I played on Normal and finished the whole thing in about 4 hours. Only the Dungeon level caused me any real problems. Throughout the game all of the targets either stay still or wander around a circular route which includes a clearly intended kill zone for an easy takedown. There's no time…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If Max Payne was Hitman
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The soul of Hitman, but cheaper and easier
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is bad, the gameplay is mediocre, the mechanics are clunky, but I enjoyed playing it. I'd say this game is more of a puzzle game than a stealth game or shooter game, you essentially just have figure out the order in which to do/grab things. The levels are fun at first while you run around and explore and figure out where things/people are for the first time. I wouldn't recommend it at full price but for 1-2 bucks it's alright.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Linear bootleg Hitman. Got it for a dollar but still.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Slater? More like the Slaughter.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is the equivariant to "mom can i get hitman blood money" and she says we have hitman blood money at home
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was at the last game in '23 where the Jets flattened the Pats to end Belichick's New England tenure. It was miserable weather. But they had the Slater pregame shirts, and I got to watch the entire game standing in the front row behind the bench. Still worth it.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game, if you want to try a first person hitman type game (and this is on sale): give it a go
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Who do you call when you need a middle aged bald assassin and Agent 47 ain't around? THE SLATER, that's who. So crack open a couple of Godbeers (exactly a couple), shoot up a dose of D-Pain and get ready to murder hobos and innocents in this adrenaline-fueled romp that will make you want to rewatch old Funhaus episodes over and over again.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hitman from Wish.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's basically a indie hitmen clone. But it's inferior in every single case. You may could argument it's super cheap, especially compared to hitmen, but I still can't recommend it. It is not horrible or unplayable, it's somewhat well made, but yeah, better save your money and get Hitmen. If you THAT poor that you may never will have enough cash for Hitmen, maybe stop shopping on steam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good Game, Good Story ! If you are interested in stealth games like Hitman, definitely play this game, but this game may be a little harder than Hitman. If your murders or moves are revealed, you are 100% dead! The interesting and attractive point of this game (for me) is that the game does not have an automatic save! If you lose, welcome! Try from the beginning of level.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What can I say this game is like a poor mans version of the Hitman series, but don't let this comment put you off what is a little gem of a game. This game has been created by a very small team so don't expect "Hitman" game quality, but it certainly has aspects of Hitman in it, such as take out a guard without being seen and take is clothes dump the body in a crate or wardrobe etc. It's a fun little game and worth paying a few quid for, I certainly hope the guy who made this goes on to make…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐⭐⭐ Recommended only for stealth lovers, since the game forces you to play that way. If you're caught, you're dead and that applies to every level. Considering this was made by one developer, it's a decent game that deserves some applause. My only complaint is the walking speed, which is painfully slow, but you can run around all the time without alerting enemies, so that's a minor issue.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Hitman inspired indie game with some good ideas. I love how the devs rewarded exploration, a few times I could find a vent to use to sneak upon a target and better still standing on the opposite side of a window and shooting through it to end the target. A little bit bland but I still enjoyed my 4 hours getting all the achievements
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Acording to Steam, the reviews are mostly positive. I gotta ask, is this some joke I'm not getting? I've played six hours of this, and tho I appreciate some parts of it, even for just a buck, this is painful to look, to hear and to play. I understand that it was made by just one guy, but part of an Indie dev's work is to understand their limitations. This game wants to look AAA, but no amount of post-processing can fix the bland look, with a boring colour palette and no detail whatsoever in…
