This game is Great fun and would definetly recommend for anyone who likes openworld GTA type games. Apart from it only running on 1080p & 60hz, a classic for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Since my hometown in Ukraine was occupied, I have become interested in examples of occupation during WWII. I was curious to find similarities and differences between the current Russian occupation and the Nazi occupation in the past. That is how I discovered the Warsaw Uprising, which I had never learned about in school. One day, I also came across The Saboteur on Steam. Although it was released many years ago, I had never played this game before. For players like me, I would say: don’t…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An old friend I never knew. I want to describe myself as an afficionado of open world games. I have been to Skellige with Geralt, Saint Denis and New Hannover with Arthur, Steelport with the Boss and Night City with V and Johnny. It has been my favorite genre of games ever since I played GTA San Andreas as a teen. Despite that The Saboteur had managed to fly under my radar for the longest time. I can´t exactly tell you why butit took me until 2026 and well after the development studio closed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Saboteur is one of those rare games that feels like a bold experiment—and actually succeeds. Set in Nazi-occupied Paris, it blends open-world exploration with stealth, action, and a surprisingly stylish presentation. The core gameplay feels like a fusion of several iconic titles: it has the parkour and assassination elements reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed, the grounded storytelling and atmosphere of Mafia, the open-ended chaos of GTA, and even a touch of Wolfenstein in its anti-Nazi tone…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic game where you kill nazis. There is a lot of things to destroy to make things easier for other missions. Has a neat mechanic when a section of the map shows color the more people that support you. Gives the classic GTA 3 feel. Most importantly though, you kill Nazis.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Won't launch for some mysterious graphics card related reason. The only fix I could find that didn't involve downloading malware launches the game in windowed mode with the left end of the screen slightly cut off. A Steam game rereleased in 2024 shouldn't be doing this, it should be optimised for modern systems, but that's EA for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so disappointed to find out that Pandemic Studios shut its doors after the release of this game. This was one hell of a way to go out. It's incredibly creative in both its story and overall design, and the plot is fantastic. Sean Devlin is probably one of the funniest, most charming, and most memorable protagonists I've ever played as. He's a sarcastic Irishman who never takes the Nazis seriously, and that attitude makes every mission a blast. What really makes this game stand out is its…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is GTA in WWII occupied France, and it's a blast. Highly recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to buy this game back in the day but was not allowed because I had a younger sibling and I needed to get something we could both play. I missed out on one of the greatest open world experiences of the era. Good music, good cars, memorable characters, unique parkour mechanics, open ended mission design where you can tackle any problem the way you want, and you get to kill fascists. It feels a bit dated now but still an easy 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reviewing games I played a long time ago: A perfect example of a hidden and forgotten gem. Is it perfect? Far from it, it has a lot of issues, but its fun to play and has a top notch atmosphere, theres not much like it, really.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun pulpy open world stealth-adventure game. Send the Nazis packing from Paris one bundle of dynamite at a time. Runs buttery smooth on the Steam Deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, this game has controller support and xbox360 prompts show up on everything just fine! I used a Xbox one controller. I sincerely regret not playing this game when it came out. It's a true gem. If you enjoy the action adventure games of the 360/PS3 era you'll probably like this game. And it's open world. Writing is really good. Playing the game for the first time in 2026 feels surprisingly modern for a game that came out in 2009. It's not perfect and has some of the "flair" of the 360…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My gameplay hours are low but I originally played and beat Saboteur on PS3. This game is truly one of the most overlooked games of the 7th gen and such a blast to play R.I.P Pandemic. If EA didn't kill them they would've made such great things.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Saboteur would probably not be made in today's gaming landscape, but whether or not that works in its favor is probably up for debate. Owning the Xbox 360 version from when it came out, the game does provide what was a relatively fun AAA-game 15 years ago at a crisp 10 bucks. Exploring 'wartime Paris' while blowing up structures, vehicles and SS officers still feels great, and it does keep you hooked in a sense. A game as risqué and pidgeon-holed as this simply wouldn't get approved today.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Consider that a f*ckin divorce" Ah, The Saboteur, a classic in my eyes, Pandemic was shut down after they made it, EA was just starting to be the scumbags they are today, this game was made in a different time for sure, as none of it would be able to come out today, it has charm, it has style, the gameplay is still good today, the freeplay may be a bit repetitive, but back in 2009, this was a game to sandbox in a WW2 setting, and it was addicting! "Oh that's f*ckin funny, you're gonna be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is from 2009 which means that the graphics are from 2009 So dont expect a miracle. Also it takes 3 clicks to open the map rather than 1. Those are my issues with the game. If you can look past that you are in for a treat. The story is excellent, there is a nudity meter in the options and a lot of sexual themes, they sure don't make games like they used to. I had a lot of fun and this game is a gem in my experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game that is not well known. Open world game that is similar to mafia games. Still playable today and not too bad. If you've never played it, I recommend
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love. F_ EA for rushing it and killing the studio eventually.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last time I played this game was on the 360 and I never thought I was able to play this game again because it was never backwards compatable
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Saboteur is a mix of different games like Assassin's creed, Wolfenstein, GTA, Mafia. Also it is stylish, immersive, and incredibly fun from start to finish. The Paris atmosphere, unique black-and-white visuals, and satisfying gameplay make it a truly unforgettable experience. One of the most underrated game ever made and it is so sad that there will be no remaster or the saboteur 2 :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated games I have ever played in my life. Mix of assassin’s creed, world war 2, grand theft auto, nazis and an angry Irish man in Nazi occupied Paris.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can finally say that this game has a place in my heart, and an absolute masterpiece of a game. Before i even get the game, just by looking at the screenshot, i can already tell i will fall in love with this game. The fact that it's even better than what i thought make this game a certain top 10 in my books. Firstly, the characters are insanely good. They have so much charm, and the voice acting is top tier. It feels like they had so much love and fun just by the way every character voiced.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally played this game back in 2009 and recently decided to replay it. For a game released in 2009, it still holds up surprisingly well. Performance was smooth, I didn't experience crashes during gameplay, and I was able to complete the story without major issues. One thing I really liked was the ability to climb buildings. The lack of fast travel may not be for everyone, but for me it added to the atmosphere and made traveling through the city feel more meaningful. Overall, despite…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First playthrough review time. The Saboteur is a strong game even today, even though it came out in 2009. It mixes open-world action and stealth in a good way, similar to some popular games, but it still has its own style. The World War II setting also adds something different, and the overall design keeps things interesting from start to end. One of the better parts is the way missions can be done in different ways. You can go in directly or take a slower approach, so it does not feel too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic, absolutely bloddy genius aint it. Lets go f00k up some nazis.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of cool to go back to a game from the latter era of the classic 3D GTA formula, where they'd smoothed out a lot of the kinks and left you with the ne plus ultra example of a formula that doesn't really exist anymore. It's funny that this game about Nazi occupation has such a chill, hang-out vibe, but the design philosophy of this genre always was more about "here's a bunch of action figures." Open-worlds now defer to the collect-a-thon mentality. No Ubisoft game will ever encourage you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like the closest thing we get to have an Assassins Creed: WW2 + GTA 4 + Wolfenstein, plays much like the OG AC series, reminds me of AC2:Brotherhood, with the parkour, open world stuff and etc., though the story aunt serious, its tongue and cheek, and suffers the Ubisoft collectathon and map objectives. although don't expect a triple A game from that era. its jank as most 2005-2010 games go but its fine, a lot of BLOOM though like most late 2000s game and there's nothing in the settings to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For an unfinished swan song, its an awesome game from Pandemic. Though it sadly had a ton of potential to be something more. $4.99 is not at all a bad deal, and if you plan to get it then play it with Global Mod 2.0
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know if it's a bad game or it's aged so badly. - It lags on Geforce 3050 - It's very hard to shoot because cursor has "large steps". Your cursor is under the enemy and when you move mouse a little up, it jumps a lot and it's above the enemy. - Scripts sometime doesn't work and need to restart mission. It's not fun to do same things again and again. Why did I drop the game? Bryman mission. I freed him from the cell and need to run away from enemies. This... Bryman... cannot…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent game. Not amazing. Not bad. Just decent. It is however plagued with lots of small ever present issues. While these issues haven't been bad enough to make my overall impression of the game a negative one, they are pretty annoying in the moment. Climbing is annoying because you have to repeatedly hit space rather than just holding it to climb. On top of that, climbing isn't entirely intuitive. There are some ledges that look like they should be climbable but aren't and though more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Saboteur is the proof that you dont need a modern and powerfull PC to have fun in gaming, even 16 years after its realese. It´s an absolute hidden gem that deserves way more love! It’s an atmospheric masterpiece that perfectly captures the gritty, stylish vibe of occupied Paris. The visual direction is great: the world starts in black-and-white, and as you ignite the "Will to Fight" and liberate districts, the color bleeding back into the streets this is one of the most rewarding visual…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This Game is one of my all time favorites, I Loved Playing it when I was younger, I think the mechanics are still good. It gives you really good reasons to progress through the game and complete all the little side quests and getting all the perks. I wish that more people could give this game a try its a Great buy. The Story is interesting and the Gameplay is very Fun and it runs pretty well. Definitely Worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the art direction. The visuals and music are really immersive. Open world has plenty to do with the sabotage targets everywhere. Would love if someone did a reboot of this game but due to the nazi imagery and sexual content in the game, they wouldn't be able to in 2026.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What an overlooked banger. I actually played The Saboteur as a kid, but dropped it after my GPU died. When I eventually got my PC fixed, I never bothered returning to it. Back then it was just a fun GTA-like, but nothing that stood out enough to pull me back in. Coming back to it years later, I realized I just didn't appreciate half of what made this game special. Apparently 14-year-old me wasn't really into noir yet. We do have plenty of WW2 shooters, but an open-world city occupied by Nazis…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is sweet, especially for the pennies I paid on sale. Its not even my type of game really I'm not a huge fan of gta or gta-like games but this game I like. I think the setting+story+humour really make it... more than it is. Though it does have some rough edges, so be aware of that. If you can work around them its a wicked experience. Would recommend, if you're willing to take some measures on a modern machine to make it run smoothly, like compat mode ( I use vista ), absolutely no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a masterpiece and the absolute definition of a well produced video game (excellent voice acting, tons of things to do, and a deeply gripping storyline). the only downside is getting this classic to run on modern hardware. because it's an older title, you’ll need to manually tweak some resolution settings in a notepad file just to get it past the launcher. my fix: i got it running flawlessly at 1920x1080 in windowed mode, combined with a borderless window mod to simulate full screen. if you're…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is stupidly fun. Why EA shut down Pandemic I will never understand.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →got this during sale, the gameplay graphics brings back memories of simple old games. loved it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is very meh, after about an hour or two I grew bored. Some cool elements, but its similar to just cause which is so much more fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EA if you are seeing this, at least fix your games to run on modern hardware before charging people money to play it. Great game but nope not dealing with it's crashes and stutters
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I sunk double digit hours into this on the 360 and it's like running into an old friend that you haven't seen in a decade. As you look at its aged form, you can't help but be blasted back to the late 2000s where it was late nights as you try to keep yourself up with snacks and energy drinks as the late night slowly turns into the early morning. This game is nearing 20 years old so you can expect it to behave as such. The gameplay itself is a lot of fun and it has a good gameplay loop to keep…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I always wanted to play the Saboteur and to be honest I have completely forgotten about it, until one day it arrived here on Steam. So its great to final complete this game after 17 years. This feels like a crossover between GTA and Assassin’s Creed, its a shame that there was never made sequel to this franchise. Pros: - Fair plot/story - Long campaign - Decent Graphics - Huge open world - Good soundtrack - Great voice acting - Neo Noir style. Cons: - Terrible optimized -…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cool game with soul, but from the wrong publisher. RIP Pandemic. Edit: Game needs max 60 hz to stop the crash fest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This should be a blueprint for the BEAR MINIMUM a open world game should have., Sex, smart ai, disquise system, Cool cars, nude women (okay they are half naked at best but still). It is a shame that EA shut this company down but i guess it is for the best given that if they were to make a mercenaries or sabitoure 2 it will be mid at best and filled with ugly andrygoneous women. the most amazing thing was it was under 10 GB. i know right its not another obverbloated 100 gb midfest. I hope new…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant! NOT SHY AND NOT PC. I love it! This game is a gem and there are no equals that I know out there. The music is a treat too... GO FOR IT!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fantastic game. Feels like assassin's creed revelations mixed with godfather. Pretty good for its age. The game was made with soul and care like most of the older games. And surprisingly a solid experience despite of the studio shutting down, still there are a lot of areas where you can see where they couldn't finish the game, things like copy pasting towers and not adjusting the ladders for easy access or climbable walls and rooftops not being able to be grabbed. But im sure these things…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a lot of fun! The grapics are dated but that is to be expected. They don't detract from the open world fun you can have in this game. Do missions or run/drive around blowing stuff up. Your choice. Especially if you get the game at a steep discount, you won't regret a trip to Paris!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game, blending GTA, Mafia and Assassins creed into one holy mix. It's old yes, but it's timeless. Worth every penny. I played the demo back when it released and now still people were talking about it so I had to buy it and I am not disappointed what so ever. I have never seen a game use these kinds of elements before such as the black and white areas with the sky even turning different while entering it. It's fun and never too easy or hard at the same time. The driving is okay…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Assassin's Theft Auto: Paris brûle-t-il Edition. Nothin' to see here. Nope. Nobody special. Ignore the Mick with the bomb. Pandemic Studios' last and one of their best works. A charming and (generally) light-hearted WW2-themed, open-world bombastic romp that, after 17 years, manages to hold up surprisingly well! Better in some ways than others, but it never approaches datedness that starts to drag the experience down. Even when it plays fast & loose with real-world history or writing,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hours and hours and hours... I remember staying up for weeks just to enjoy this game on my old Xbox 360... I will get to play it on PC now... Can't wait
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a little over an hour in this game so far and I do not understand the positive reviews. This game plays and feels like a pre-alpha that they ran out of money to further develop and just haphazardly finished. Everything in this game in its most basic form of barely functional with zero refinements done. Parkour climbing boils down to repeatedly tapping the climb key until your character reaches the top with no other input required of you, which adds zero entertainment value. Driving…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favourite games, and it won't even run on "modern hardware."
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its ok. but there are still LOTS of issues with it.. many many bugs, from simple ones like hanging on exit, to quests disappearing, to enemy appearing out of thin air when an alarm is raised (especially 3+ in particular)... then there are save games that only save from mission start contrary to the loading screen saying explicitly "save the game ANY time".. implying the current game state will be saved!! and there are many silly quests, where objectives that imply one thing, but dont actually…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played this a ♥♥♥♥-ton on PS3 when I was a kid. It's a really top-notch open-world action game. Gameplay is fun and great, shooting is alright, driving is a hit-or-miss. I've never actually beaten the story before, but now I will. I'll update my review giving my full thoughts once I've done so!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to binge on this back in 2009-2010 during night times as a kid. Linear game with Crude humour, fourth wall breaking protagonist with personality who also takes cover dynamically, stereotypes on all sides and especially lots of potential carnage where game respects your wishes. Pandemic HAD balls. It's an unapologetic action game after all. The fixes you can search and make adjustments yourself will only take the game so far, though. It's was and still is EA after all. Just stick with it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a great game. Story is old school and perfectly cheesy. Dont forget to adjust a refresh rate!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's basically a more mature version of that mime episode from The Powerpuff Girls.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a game about killing nazis very good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey kiddo, Handsome Jack here... and I just played The Saboteur, and apparently somebody decided that Nazi-occupied Paris needed one extremely angry Irishman with a car, a pistol, and a personal commitment to making everyone's workday completely miserable. Honestly? I approve. You play as Sean Devlin, a race car driver who gets pulled into the French Resistance after the Nazis ruin his life. So naturally, instead of filing a complaint, he decides to spend the next several hours blowing up…
