unlabelledView post →The most egregious sin that THE NEW MUTANTS commits is wasting the pitch-perfect casting of Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams. I was a NEW MUTANTS fanatic in the '80s, and I cannot think of two more perfect people for those roles in a totally frustrating mess of a movie.
unlabelledView post →Watching Thunderbolts and it’s…. Good? It’s very different. Weirdly it’s got a lot in common with The New Mutants movie, but this time it works.
unlabelledView post →Cannonball in the New Mutants movie is from a coal town in Kentucky, and in one scene he’s just casually holding a piece of coal. “My dad gave me this coal,” he says. As someone from a coal town I can tell you I’m constantly doing this.
unlabelledView post →The New Mutants had some hints of Mr. Sinister/Nathaniel Essex being the big villain of the second film, which was never made. Essex didn’t appear in the first (and only) film, though.
unlabelledView post →#OctCharacterCover Day 8 New Mutants One thing they did right in the New Mutants Movie was casting. Cocaine Bear was perfect for the part of the Demon Bear.
unlabelledView post →I finally watched The New Mutants last night and, to be honest, I didn't hate it? Maybe it's me not being an MCU veteran but aside from a couple of clunky exposition scenes, I thought as a Marvel "horror" film, it was actually pretty fun Also my love for Anya Taylor-Joy grows ✨
unlabelledView post →I know I’ll catch some shit for this but I watched the New Mutants movie again for the first time in 4 years and other than the obvious issues it has grown on me, I enjoyed myself.
unlabelledView post →‘THE NEW MUTANTS’ director Josh Boone says making the film was “so traumatic” and “so unfulfilling.” “We didn't really get to make the movie we wanted to make. We made half the movie we wanted to make.” (via thedirect.com/article/the-...)
unlabelledView post →So I watched the New Mutants film and...it is a fever dream of a movie.
unlabelledView post →The New Mutants movie was good and we should stop pretending that it was “bad” just because it’s different from the comics
unlabelledView post →If you see this, post a mutant! (The New Mutants movie did her dirty! 🍅🍅)
unlabelledView post →Just wait till they remember that the New Mutants film existed and they see how Magik is portrayed there. Also, Carol Danvers slander in 2026? Get over it, you basement-dwellers, 2019 was almost a decade ago!
unlabelledView post →Clayface looks dope. It looks like a very light horror movie - an entry level body horror - but I’m just happy to see a project like this COMMIT after half-efforts like The New Mutants and Multiverse of Madness. Gonna try for opening day for this one for sure.
unlabelledView post →Currently watching The New Mutants for the first time. (Don’t worry, I’m keeping expectations low) #filmsky #marvel
unlabelledView post →My daughter got interested in Magik while watching me play Marvel Rivals, so somehow her first X-Men movie is The New Mutants 🤷♂️
unlabelledView post →If they take any notes from the history of Marvel properties when writing the script for X-Men, I hope it's that The New Mutants had more to teach them about the tone and genre of X-Men than any Avengers movie did. Mutants are scary. Both being around and being one. It carries inplicit body horror.
unlabelledView post →The queer-coding is subtextual (though brought to the surface in the New Mutants film) but the depth of Rahne’s symbolic engagement with the queer community is remarkable and compelling – forming all manner of relatable and meaningful allegories. 8/8
unlabelledView post →Drop a hot take or unpopular opinion: The New Mutants movie is good with some great moments
unlabelledView post →Few movies come as close to a 50/50 split between brilliant and terrible as the New Mutants. I'm rewatching it now and I constantly go from "oh that's great" to "damn, that's awful" Sadly, some of the bad stuff is so bad it drags the whole movie down.
unlabelledView post →Last movie before AEW Dynamite. The randomly selected movie is... The New Mutants, 2020
unlabelledView post →For reasons which passeth understanding, I'm watching the New Mutants movie, which I've decided to give an extra 15 minutes to convince me purely on the basis of Maisie Williams' actually p dece Scottish accent
unlabelledView post →God I hate how the New Mutants movie disappointed me.
unlabelledView post →I also watched The New Mutants film again this evening. The more I watch this the more I love it.
unlabelledView post →If you want to send me into a white-hot rage just make me contemplate the New Mutants movie.
unlabelledView post →New! Mic Wright (@brokenbottleboy.bsky.social) joins me for a chat about The New Mutants, the very last of the X-Men movie series which barely even got a proper release and hardly anyone seems to have actually seen... timworthington.org/2025/02/12/i...
unlabelledView post →Anya was so fucking good as Magik in the New Mutants movie
unlabelledView post →Y'all remember the New Mutants movie? 4 years ago, it was supposed to come out in theaters after numerous delays. On April 3, 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, the movie did not debut anywhere, even though it hadn't been officially delayed or given a new release date. This was my post on that day:
unlabelledView post →Man, I hate that that stupid ass New Mutants movie gave the New Mutants comics and team a bad name.

unlabelledView post →I genuinely love Wolfsbane and the New Mutants movie being so awful made me specifically angry on her behalf.
unlabelledView post →I am working on my painting skills. So, I did a Magik in oil on a 5x7 card. I used a clear gesso over a pencil drawing. Great lighting reference from my daughter and the New Mutants movie...and off we go!!!
unlabelledView post →Make a GEN 13 movie already. Try again with THE NEW MUTANTS. I'm still miffed that Ava DuVernay FOURTH WORLD movie fell through. Just anything that's not Batman or Marvel Avengers at this point would be nice if we're doing super people.

unlabelledView post →The New Mutants movie made unfilmable comic book stories work as a feature length film The Demon Bear comic story goes “a girl is mauled by a bear in the woods and then there’s a power outage at the hospital for unrelated reasons. The girl survives, though.
unlabelledView post →god I can't get over how Thunderbolts is actually, really About Something haven't been this surprised by how About Something a superhero movie is since The New Mutants
unlabelledView post →Not comics: The New Mutants movie was good.
unlabelledView post →WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME THERES GIRLS KISSING IN THE NEW MUTANTS MOVIE ??
unlabelledView post →Finally watched The New Mutants movie. I actually enjoyed it a lot, though I also am familiar with the original comic book source material.
unlabelledView post →I haven't watched the New Mutants movie (I hear it's pretty bad) but I appreciate how Rod Reis makes Rahne kind of look like Maisy Williams New Mutants #1 - November 2019
unlabelledView post →I made a pile of money working on The New Mutants, which was Twentieth Century Fox (RIP) making a quick, cheap film solely to retain character rights to the X Men
unlabelledView post →The New Mutants has been out for years. (Nobody’s seen that film to tell me I’m wrong).
unlabelledView post →Michaela I often think you're right and girl, this is one of those times. One of the funniest things to me is that the NEW MUTANTS MOVIE, THAT NO ONE OTHER THAN ME WATCHED, MADE HER OPENLY GAY and the comics didn't
unlabelledView post →I've finally watched The New Mutants movie It's actually... not that bad Dani x Rahne ship has gotten some love, that's a win BUT Feels more like a tv show pilot than a movie though? Oh and Roberto and Rayes look a bit too white?? Editing is also super weird and doesnt flow too well Still, not bad
unlabelledView post →I wish the New Mutants movie had been good. And that they didn't make Ilyana a racist 😕
unlabelledView post →I’ll give two answers: one with both the characters being from the same film and another where the two characters are from their own films. 1. Alia Atreides and Princess Irulan from Dune: Part Two 2. Ilyana Rasputin (Magik) from The New Mutants and Princess Irulan from Dune: Part Two
unlabelledView post →Hey what’s up if we’re talking X-Men TV, we were all hosed as far as not getting the New Mutants movie as a prestige horror series like it felt was originally intended
unlabelledView post →Forgot that The New Mutants movie had a Bastards of Young needle drop.

unlabelledView post →I totally forgot about the New Mutants movie until just now. Huh! 🤔🤷♀️👩❤️💋👩
unlabelledView post →They could bring back Anya Taylor-Joy from the New Mutants movie. She was great.
unlabelledView post →I first saw her in Queen’s Gambit, spent the entire show thinking “this person would make a great comic character.” Completely forgot that the New Mutants movie existed and was filmed 3 years earlier.
unlabelledView post →I watched The New Mutants, and this is awful on so many levels... but @alexfromawen.bsky.social was right, it's worth suffering through it for Dani and Rahne, by far the best and most well-developed idea this film had (the only idea that got some development, really)! 💞
