The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Archaeologist Rick O'Connell travels to China, pitting him against an emperor from the 2,000-year-old Han dynasty who's returned from the dead to pursue a quest for world domination. This time, O'Connell enlists the help of his wife and son to quash the so-called 'Dragon Emperor' and his abuse of supernatural power. From TMDB

But the learned man knows it demonstrates a deep truth about how people turn into Scorpion Kings and what that means for our society

neutral · AI labelView post →this movie is a great example of the Roger Ebert's Review of The Mummy phenomenon, where I cannot say any of this movie was particularly good except that i really really enjoyed watching it
positive · AI labelView post →Anyway in my opinion THE MUMMY (1999) is a pretty near perfect film, but one of the top ten perfect things in it for ME is that Imhotep initially grabs the eyeballs of a SEVERELY NEARSIGHTED GUY and that causes MULTIPLE ISSUES Like that's just... *chef's kiss* He's like "DANG IT"
positive · AI labelView post →‘The Mummy’ (1999) is the perfect film imho(tep)

neutral · AI labelView post →The Mummy (1932). The shimmering black and white cinematography of 30s studio films serves supernatural stories well, because it makes them appear even more dreamlike and like something seen in a witch's mirror. The film is moody, with an aching heart, and puts love as a source of death and rebirth.
positive · AI labelView post →The Mummy is a fantastic film.
positive · AI labelView post →New poster for Lee Cronin's ‘THE MUMMY’ The film follows a young girl who reappears to her family after being trapped in a sarcophagus in the desert for 8 years.
neutral · AI labelView post →I haven’t seen Besson’s DRACULA, but it’s so wild how “Mina is the reincarnation of Dracula’s bride” has become part of the accepted lore. None of this is from the book; he’s directly pulling from Coppola’s 1992 film, which was cribbing from DARK SHADOWS (and maybe THE MUMMY), as was FRIGHT NIGHT 🤣

neutral · AI labelView post →A silly hill I shall die upon: Karl Freund's THE MUMMY (1932) is deeply underrated. It's not a "scare a minute" film, but almost more of a tone-poem about heartbreak. Freund somehow *got* that Karloff was a very gentle actor, and he plays into that. It's also *very* beautiful to watch.

neutral · AI labelView post →Boy is Lee Cronin's THE MUMMY a failure, a thin sausage skin of engagement with the original film stretched over a boilerplate possession movie. Dull, dull, dull, and its only decent elements -- the stuff set in Egypt -- only make it more frustrating. www.patreon.com/posts/159135...
