60 of 181 · most liked firstI love when a movie premiere REALLY understands the assignment. Last night’s THE MONKEY premiere was held at a church, as a funeral, with a “priest” opening with a benediction, all before we watched a movie in which like 80 people hilariously die in gorier and gorier ways. Such a fun night.
unlabelledView post →I heard almost no buzz about Oz Perkins' adaptation of the Stephen King story, THE MONKEY. Folks, if you love horror with an absurdist eye, HOLY SHIT you need to watch this movie. Incredible performances, eye-popping visuals, and the darkest wit I've seen in ages. GREAT MOVIE. AMAZING!
unlabelledView post →I really like King's The Monkey, always thought it was a genuinely scary little story, so i'm not really on-board with the film going the over-the-top horror comedy route. We'll see i guess.
unlabelledView post →Osgood Perkins’ ‘THE MONKEY’ has some of the bloodiest, nastiest kills in any recent horror film, with a tone similar to the ‘Final Destination’ films. Find out more in our review… bit.ly/DFMonkey

unlabelledView post →‘THE MONKEY’, a new film from ‘Longlegs’ director Osgood Perkins, arrives in theaters in a few weeks, but is it anywhere near as good as his previous film? Find out in our review… bit.ly/DFMonkey
unlabelledView post →Oh ffs On a flight; saw The Monkey as a movie to watch while multitasking (horror movie- Final Destination kinda vibe I think) But I accidentally tapped The Rookie without realizing and it took 20 minutes for me to realize like “wow how long are they gonna go with this folksy baseball frame story”
unlabelledView post →Haha, this movie rules. We really are in a golden age of weird horror. The Monkey is less arty weird and more hilariously outrageous weird.
unlabelledView post →A complete departure from the seriousness of Longlegs last year, director Osgood Perkins is back with The Monkey this year, and the bloody-as-hell Red Band trailer has arrived today. bloody-disgusting.com/movie/385091...

unlabelledView post →(My partner has NOT joined me for this film, and went home after ‘The Monkey’. So much for “for better, for worse”!)
unlabelledView post →Watching The Monkey. What a weird, intersting and oddly funny movie.
unlabelledView post →LONGLEGS and THE MONKEY director Osgood Perkins says he wants to make a STAR WARS movie about “the collected dreams and nightmares of Darth Vader told as short stories.” (Source: comicbook.com/starwars/new...)
unlabelledView post →The Monkey was a good solid fun horror flick, not perfect but enjoyable to watch from start to end, exceptional casting throughout. Some Stephen King stories actually work just fine on film and this was one of them!
unlabelledView post →Need a cathartic laugh in these trying times? See THE MONKEY. My favorite Oz Perkins film by a mile-long rope of bloody entrail. Dark, twisted, hilarious, sad and f’n GORY as HELL. I absolutely loved it. @stephenking.bsky.social
unlabelledView post →Absolute bananas that Disney pulled the asshole move of copyrighting the monkey with cymbals (for TOY STORY 3), so no one else can use it, which is why Oz Perkin's The Monkey movie has a monkey with a drum. (learned on The King Cast)
unlabelledView post →After striking box office gold together with both Longlegs and The Monkey, NEON and Osgood Perkins will be staying in business together with Perkins’ new horror movie KEEPER later this year, and the relationship doesn’t end there:
unlabelledView post →“The Monkey” is a slasher film that plays its brutality for laughs, David Sims writes. But the comedy comes with an uncomfortable mission statement: There’s no stopping death. theatln.tc/zDrKv79X

unlabelledView post →🔔 NEW VIDEO! 🔔 Since it’s still my favourite film of 2025, let’s talk about Osgood Perkins’ hilariously macabre adaptation of Stephen King’s short story THE MONKEY! youtu.be/UonW5fz1Cwg Please comment & share to feed our algorithmic overlords!

unlabelledView post →I reviewed “The Monkey”. Despite some gruesome, darkly comedic kills the movie is kinda boring and continues Osgood Perkins’ commitment to making inert horror films with an airless aesthetic. www.vulture.com/article/the-...
unlabelledView post →Watched The Monkey tonight "This movie is so weird, it feels like it was made by a genius or a crazy person." *Directed by Osgood Perkins* "Oh wait never mind this makes perfect sense. This movie is genius."

unlabelledView post →Watched The Monkey tonight. My thoughts: I am in awe that a movie could go completely off the rails, when it was never on any from the instant it started Every actor in this movie was acting in their own version of this movie This is not a good movie & yet, I must recommend it because: WTF (1/2)

unlabelledView post →Just got back from a promotional screening of The Monkey. After the movie, they brought the Monkey out as a surprise but most of the audience booed him.
unlabelledView post →Lucky enough to see a screening of “The Monkey!” I’m not usually a horror fan and I’m actually kind of scared of monkeys, so I was nervous but was overjoyed by this horror comedy! Worth a watch if you need a laugh

unlabelledView post →The Monkey was a fucking blast. A gruesomely funny horror movie about daddy issues. Plus, the female-led teaser for Perkins's next movie is super intriguing.

unlabelledView post →It goes deeper into multiple outlets! His Ballerina review calls Ana De Armas' character the wrong name throughout the whole piece. Final Reckoning review references set pieces that aren't in the film. This isn't who Elijah Wood and Tatiana Maslany play in The Monkey.
unlabelledView post →I saw The Monkey tonight. It was definitely a movie.
unlabelledView post →Guys I don’t know how else to say this but the Rock DJ sequence from the Monkey movie is shot…really really well.
unlabelledView post →The Monkey is a very stupid, campy movie, but it is exactly my kind of stupid, campy movie.
unlabelledView post →The Monkey is utterly insane. A hysterical, bloody blast of a film about coming to terms with the randomness of death. It’s Osgood Perkins channeling Final Destination through the lens of Stephen King. For those who haven’t liked Perkins other films, this may be the one for you.
unlabelledView post →That new Final Destination movie is really going to have a lot to live up now that The Monkey has stolen it's thunder.

unlabelledView post →THE MONKEY (2025): Everyone knows that THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER is my favorite film, but I'm still delighted at how much I love this one. I can (and have) made the argument that it captures the spirit of Stephen King's small-town horrors with aplomb, but it's also just reeeeal fucking silly.
unlabelledView post →#nowwatching The Monkey Still on a horror kick I guess lol

unlabelledView post →“The Monkey” is very much a “subtext is for cowards” film, full of sons digging around in their fathers’ closets, eerie motels and hotels (and CascoTels), pilots and airplane accidents. Oddly, that subtext serves as the glue that holds an otherwise stream-of-consciousness film together.
