He needed a third film to give us a clearer throughline to his interpretation of Bond (The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill were *very* different movies, both mostly good for what they were) but that's not his fault.

We’ve had a lot of fun with Joe Don over the years, on eps like Congo, The Pack, and Joysticks, but he was also great in GoldenEye, Cape Fear, The Living Daylights, Charley Varrick, Fletch, Walking Tall… it goes on. What a life! www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

unlabelledView post →I will die on this hill: this song should have been the title theme for The Living Daylights, not the A-ha song Co-written by John Barry and interpolated throughout the film. They shoved it into the end credits but I feel like it was intended to be the main theme youtu.be/KltjoX0VtgQ

unlabelledView post →What’s your go-to Bond movie? The one you throw on and feel instant comfort and delight? For me it’s THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS, an absolute fucking banger from end to end. Great stunts (the plane!!), great one-liners (“he got the boot”), and Dalton might actually be the perfect Bond. Lethal and slutty.

unlabelledView post →Happy 80th birthday, Timothy Dalton! In the actor’s first movie as James Bond, The Living Daylights (1987), Dalton’s smart, subdued wardrobe included a tan gabardine Benjamin Simon suit with an open-neck cream shirt while confronting Soviet General Pushkin in Tangier with his trademark Walther PPK.
unlabelledView post →15 - The Living Daylights - Dalton makes a good Bond. It’s nice to have a romance you can actually believe now. The film itself is a mixed bag. Some really nice ideas, but it doesn’t tie together nicely. The stunt work feels like it’s gone up a notch. 5/10

unlabelledView post →Acknowledge his correctness because “The Living Daylights” is the second best Bond film and some days it is first.
unlabelledView post →Definitely. His Bond got knocked for being dark but he really isn't, at least by the standards of nowadays. And The Living Daylights is a top-tier Bond movie.

unlabelledView post →Now rewatching, The Living Daylights 1987). I remember clearly when this movie came out because it was the first time I watched a new Bond take over. I was Born when Roger Moore was already Bond. Dalton was a perfect choice. He brought some real gravitas to the role. Fantastic entry.
unlabelledView post →oooh i love The Living Daylights but it is not a great movie haha it was my first Bond and that does a ton of heavy lifting for it having said that, it's got some really good Q bits and a lot of the classic Bond gadgets are in it the Bond girl in this one was a bit too Bond girly tho
unlabelledView post →The Living Daylights premiered on this day in 1987. As you might expect, film critics were keen to discuss Dalton's arrival as 007. More surprisingly, they also made a lot of comments about the HIV/Aids crisis. You can read about it in James Bond Will Return.

unlabelledView post →10. The Living Daylights (1987) Our first entry into the top 10. It is a great Bond film, plain and simple, and the script suited Dalton’s Bond perfectly. The action is incredible, and such a memorable action-packed ending. Epic theme, too.
