negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have officially completed the game, save a few arbitrary medals. TLDR It's a new look at Plants vs. Zombies with side scrolling brawler mechanics. All in all I had a good time with it, but it left me wanting a little more in the way of unique challenges forcing me to use the plethora of unique dogs (towers & abilities) at my disposal. I think it's worth it at the price point of $15 though, I feel like the content that is present is good and they let you pet the dog. So that's pretty neat.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →9/10 Dog not Cat owners recommend this game. ☑️A fun beat'em'up. ☑️Beautiful art and designs. ☑️Great music. ☑️Cute doggos that you can rename. ☑️Different usable synergies. ☑️Good character designs and story. ❌There isn't any cats. ❌It's a casual game, not a challenging game. A challenge mode would be really nice, like "Don't take damage." instead of the same "Complete the stage." and other prerequisites for a 3 star. I won't go into too much detail, as there isn't much to really say.…

Please note that the game is a console port and only controller instructions are shown within the game A very colourful and charming hybrid of tower defense/brawler developed by the collaboration of The Stonebot Studio and Ludus Games. In a post apocalyptic setting, the main character, Alpha (the brawler), has discovered that someone is kidnapping all the doggos in the world. Alpha sets off on a mission in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are a fan of PvZ, consider buying this when it is on 30% sales . The gameplay is a little mix between PvZ TD and fighting. Visual and music is nice and relaxing, the plot is easy to understand with dogs everywhere. However, the gameplay will get repetitive and bored very soon. The fighting mechanics are too simple without anything new and different between skills. I have completed this game for 100% achievement in around 17 hours - this is a casual and easy game without any…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cute Plants vs Zombies like game, but more like Dogs vs Evil Punks. Witty dialogues, adorable dogs, fun and nervous gameplay, it's a very good blend of Beatem All and Tower Defence. Lots of upgrades to get. Really love it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[+] a sidescroll fighting game with a tower defense element, got good enough content to mix and collect. [-] awkward character's (Alpha) movement and actions. IMO Every actions command feel delayed and got an unneeded and noticeable lock down, really takes the fun off for an Action "fighting" game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Last Friend is an adorable tower defense/beat-em-up game where you collect different dogs that each have different skills and you can name them and get very attached to them ;-; I personally have little experience with tower defense games, but I had a great time collecting dogs and naming them after different friends based on their personalities (internal giggle) a very nice game to sit and just unwind with, and the fact that you CAN PET THE DOGS?? incredible. If you're a tower defense…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought I would try out a different genre of games and am glad I chose Last Friend. It's fun with cute graphics and great music.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lane base tower defense very similar to Plants vs Zombies, but you control a character that can has a couple of attack combos to help control each lanes. Each mission took about 5-10 minutes and there are a couple of missions that had no tower defense and 100% brawler. Game has about 12 towers that can be upgraded to level 3 and even more dogs that upgrades your character's skills, which can also be upgraded to level 3. Game was a fun 7 hour experience, the only bummer thing was when I fired…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tower defense + beat em' up action blends well together. The art style is cute and the music is good! There's some levels later on that have HUGE spikes. The game is in need of a survival mode. Overall a fun time. Full Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGyRMhEIGxQ
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great mix of beat them all and tower defense. Local co-op is a blast and the dogs are super cute!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stonebot's Last Friend is full of cute doggos - and yes, you can pet all of them. It's a little on the easy side but is super fun. It's more like Tapper than a TD game so go in with an open mind and you'll enjoy yourself. Has a great sense of humour and loads of variety. Not a Tower Defence game! It's Tapper, except instead of passing beers you're punching and uppercutting and also have turrets and traps. Loads of variety in levels and powerups. Great humour. Awesome. For more niche…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really entertaining. There area few bugs, such as towers replacing each other, and just downright turning into another tower, but I think that will be fixed. The art style is amazing, the story is really entertaining, and the characters are really funny. And also, who doesn't like dogs?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For about 2-3 hours I thought this game was ****ing awesome. A plants vs zombies clone with a higher difficulty (not try hard but often requriing a few retries as you plan and adapt), brawler mechanics thus reducing the amount of dead air and cute doggos? Hell yeah! However around the second boss the difficult and strategy go out the window, with the optimal strategy just being mindless spamming the basic turret dog and mashing basic attack and uppercut, and the difficult goes from being…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally bought this game on Epic because one of my friends worked on it, and it is one of the few games that have been developed in El Salvador. After I started playing it I got a little addicted to it and wanted to unlock all achivements, however, my computer died but I wanted to finish the game, so I bought it again for the Nintendo Switch and unlocked everything, but now that I have an Steam Deck I decided to buy it again so I can get the achievements. The game is not perfect but it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda like the set up, but it's turned out to be a mediocre TD mixed with elements of a mediocre brawler. Channel your anxiety and try to do both. Meh went in, meh went out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game was very good and very cute, for some of them a had to think. But the guide was not in keyboard and mouse so i couldn't figure out how to use the super dogs, and after i had complete the game it wiped my save before i was done
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. It's definitely in the same vein as Plants vs. Zombies, but with an added adrenaline rush. The dogs are cute, the enemies are varied, lots of abilities to choose from. I really couldn't ask for more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SHORT VERSION: The Last Friend is a lane-based tower defense game in which you balance tower placement with runnin' around smackin' fools. It's a pretty good one of these, with a good variety of towers and personal abilites that you can combine as you wish. Things can get a little stale at points though, as certain late-game strategies are extremely solid once they're built, and a good brawler won't have much trouble collecting the scrap to build them. Overall, I had a pretty good time, and…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would like to be positive, but the game is for midal review. Nothing is understood from the story and sometimes a bug continues without stopping the conversations, and there are conversations during the battles that are quite bad and interfere. A world where only these idiots people and mutts are left without other animals is quite unrealistic. No variety with only one tactic, the game is passed, there is no point in diversifying. 5-10 minutes of fighting with towers and 1-2 minutes with…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm on the fence with The Last Friend. This is kind of a Plants vs Zombies clone with lanes for a tower defense game but it's also a beat em up. You control a character who runs around the level and can fight enemies while turrets also do their thing. All of the mechanics are rather basic between tower defense and beat em up. It certainly works pretty well for what it is. Now I don't know if maybe the game isn't for me, even if I got it to relive some PvZ nostalgia, but after about 2 hours, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little tower defense/beat-em-up combo, that had a great aesthetic regarding dogs, that doesn't take itself too seriously. Certain combos are really strong, and it allows a lot of synergy, plus you can pet all the dogs!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The ultimate male fantasy. if you like tower defence, beat em ups, sick music, Dogs, or being a giga chad, then you NEED to play this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun little PvZ inspired game with some simple but effective beat 'em up elements, full of doggos and you can even pet them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall Impression: 74 C The Last Friend is a decent tower defense and brawler combo. While it is not great in either category, it blends the two together well enough to be a solid game. More detailed review: The Last Friend is not a bad game. It is not a great game either. The controls and collision detection can be wonky. The music gets to be grating. While cute, there are too many dogs to fiddle with and upgrade. Even with the number of dogs available, there is a core set that is so much…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Long review: So far the Game is easy, simple & and doesn't offer that much of a challenge in general, but is comfy asf, maybe you don't play it for the amazing and immersive story that it has, but just because the game is cute as heck. I don't play many games as I used to, everything feels empty, and I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and I can see the pattern of how videogames are being made, or is truly just more of the same and finding innovation is extremely difficult because…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It pains me to do this as I really like the game, but going back to see my progress wiped out and I didn't even uninstall the game. It may just look like 1 hour of progress, but that was a great 1 hour lost. The achievements are even there so I know I wasn't dreaming. I posted in the community about a month ago but I haven't gotten any response. Still gonna wait to see if they will even fix this issue before I can go back. But for now, I cannot recommend the game as it will just break my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dogs. Plant vs Zombie, city of rage idea in one game. What more I can say. Make a part 2 of this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, you can pet the dog. All the Dogs. Except T. Juan; he's got attitude. PVZ+Beat-em Up, during a post-apocalyptic dog rescue mission. What's not to love? Rockin soundtrack.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely mix of fairly simplistic beat 'em up and tower defence, Cute dogs are the stars of the show, literally.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is great! It's like Plants vs Zombies but with doggos rather than zombies. They switch up how the levels are played more than PvZ and there is also upgrades for your RV, dogs and your hero character. So far it's a lot of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game, as it has a cool concept and plays that make me like it, and the game definitely deserve more attention. It is still in developing (i hope) and here are some issues i observe when play: 1. No key mapping, there is no option to set keys or look at the key bindings, for KB&M. 2. Save game issues. Save game may gone missing, try to visit shop before u leave the game to ensure it autosave. 3. Pause menu issues. Game stuck when trying to access option in pause menu, no key…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is quite fun and beautiful to look at, I was worried about the tower defense element but being able to fight and move freely is a nice touch that makes it enjoyable. Plus collecting all the dogs feels great.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATE: Well, I don't know.. I mean its really pretty and you can tell a lot of work was put into it but the balancing is off at the moment.. I passed 20 levels on the first go.. I am still leaving a positive review but I will stop playing for now and wait for the devs to re-balance the game (hopefully), its way way too easy.. I did not once need to change my strategy.. so I dunno. I hope they improve it :) [Strat: Turrets in back, if you can get to lvl 3 its kinda crazy, put a few shields,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Last Friend is a pretty great game mixed with two genres of beat em up and tower defense put together. You don't require strategy in the game at many points but in the same sense you do. So you kind of can take a choice of which gaming style you would like to use to defeat levels. You can also in a sense mix them both up at shown in the first few stages teaching you the game. It's a pretty nice game for dog levels and helps show you the many different breeds if your clueless about how many…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept is great and I really like these style of games. But it is a super easy game, no challenge at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The art style is so adorable, it triggered my cataplexy four times in one hour. 10/10, would have temporary muscle loss again. For a real review, the beat 'em up portion is a step above basic light+heavy attacks along with Plants Vs Zombies 2d Tower Defense. I've completed the first major boss after the 14th mission. I do like how your main character has to participate in fights and cannot rely solely off his towers. The level variety is also a nice touch to keep things fresh. I'll certainly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual fun game, the main issue with the game is the difficulty is a bit too low so not much of a challenge. However, for some casual fun with friends who are not gamers, it's great. It's a short game though, so recommend buying on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to recommend this game, but this feels like a bad console port. The controls are awful on keyboard and you can't rebind the keys. Using a controller is definitely recommended, but it still feels like I'm doing mid-tier fighting game combos just to place towers. Really hurts to leave the game a negative review since all the towers are good boys and they didn't do anything wrong. However, there is a bug that prevents waves from coming so you just can't win some levels. I highly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was not expecting this game to be so good! The writing's very meh in the beginning and gets marginally better later but it is a great experience. This is like Forspoken's cat befriending mechanics but with dogs, and as a beat-'em-up/tower defence hybrid instead of an open world action RPG. If I had any criticisms other than the writing, it's that there's not much reason to diversify your turret lineup. Unlike Plants vs Zombies, the terrain and enemies aren't particularly diverse no matter…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →... Grrrrr
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little tower defence game, a little on the short side but enjoyable nonetheless, if you're looking for something similar to plants versus zombies but with a different flavour this should satisfy the itch, the beat em up elements add a fun twist to the formula and the art style is delightful
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and nothing special.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent enough mix of tower defence and beat 'em up but there isn't much reason to use a lot of the towers given. The tower you're forced to bring to every mission can be upgraded into one that can shoot across three lanes at the same time, so there's never not a reason to do so - combine it with something that does damage over time and a wall and you win every mission easily. Enemies can bounce around between lanes often enough to be a bit annoying. Bosses in particular don't feel challenging…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Last Friend is a genre-blending indie title that combines tower defense strategy, arcade-style brawler combat, and character-driven progression into a surprisingly heartfelt post-apocalyptic adventure.
