Shelley is living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. With nowhere to go, fate delivers her to the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. In order to accomplish their goal, they need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men; at the same… From TMDB

Or a bad witch?” he was literally quoting Anna Faris in this movie cause he’s ALSO in it 🤯🤦🏻♀️😅 It makes so much sense now!!!

Losing my mind as Napoleon Dynamite did his dance performance at the end of the movie. Crying my way through “The Force Awakens” even though I wasn’t a big Star Wars fan.

unlabelledView post →It's sort of weird how Playboy Magazine in pop culture is like this big, extravagant adult vice wonderland that's in comedy movies like Miss March (2009), Hop (2011), The House Bunny (2008) and what not, but then on the other hand you have the movie Star 80 (1983).

unlabelledView post →I love this because The House Bunny is a movie that was way better than many give credit for, and is achingly funny
unlabelledView post →Programmed a double feature of ANIMAL HOUSE and THE HOUSE BUNNY last night. The latter is... so *weird.* Anna Faris is game as always, but it's a PG-13 movie about an orphaned Playboy bunny sexifying a loser sorority. The rating is a dead-weight anchor, neutering the comedy and mandating innuendo.

unlabelledView post →18. The House Bunny This is also propaganda, but for Hugh Heffner and the Playboy brand. I liked this movie! It was fun and took the protagonist seriously as a character in a way thought was pretty good but could have been very bad. Shelly 100% carries the entire movie. Good MC

Something I realised I hadn't done watching the other 2 comedies I picked out the last couple of nights. I love the running joke in this film.
unlabelledView post →The other star of the remake is Eugenio Derbez, a Mexican actor and comedian. He's the one who gets tricked in this one. And there is a lot of Spanish in the movie, I enjoyed that. (I do not speak Spanish though). I've been a fan of Anna Faris since The House Bunny. You should give it a chance.

unlabelledView post →The only movie I can think of where they actually took this into account is the sorority in The House Bunny. Yes, really. They were like “Okay, we can’t keep this glam up, we have to go halfway between what we once did.”
unlabelledView post →Really good watch, would watch again, and can recommend. A modern re-telling of "Snow White" and sort of a response to "Sydney White", a story of a psuedo-princess cast out and taken in by 7 societal misfits. It's a fun twist that's she's this vapid playboy bunny that comes in and indoctrinates the other girls into being like her. It's a fun movie, not the best movie, but consistently good and a well done downtrodden versus the authority trope.
