The Dead Pool

unlabelledView post →if you want to see some truly horrific acting watch the first five minutes of the final Dirty Harry film, The Dead Pool, Jim Carrey plays a drug addled rock star miming Welcome to the Jungle, I reckon if I was Axl Rose I would have sued - don't know what for but jesus, also Neeson's ponytail..
unlabelledView post →A couple sequels and a couple spins of the roulette wheel. "The Haunted Strangler" was good Karloff fun. "The Dead Pool" completes Dirty Harry's lionization from dirty cop to hero cop. "Beau Travail" was not finished; way too dull, tapped out halfway. #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky

unlabelledView post →Here is Guns n Roses in 2 separate scenes in the Clint Eastwood movie The Dead Pool. In the first scene they are Jim Carrey's funeral. In the second Slash, ya know, has a harpoon.

unlabelledView post →Last night I started watching the Dead Pool, oh my god it really is an utter disaster of a film, nearly finished because I have to..the first Dirty Harry was made by Don Siegel, old school, hard boiled, tell the story, make sure the script is good, then finish it...see his movies instead..

unlabelledView post →It was a legacy win, rather than the film being any good win. Mind you, compared to his other output of the same era, ie The Rookie, The Dead Pool, and other generic thrillers that are basically "macho cop TV movie of the week" material, it was actually good. but only by comparison.
unlabelledView post →God, I don't think I do. I mean I watched the TV edit of ROBOCOP but that hardly counts. I remember the first movie I was so disturbed by that I had to stop watching, tho: the final Dirty Harry movie, THE DEAD POOL. A guy is set or sets himself on fire and that was too much for li'l ole me.
unlabelledView post →When The Mask whips out a bunch of guns, he says “Now you have to ask yourself one question. "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya? Punks!” This nod to Dirty Harry was intentional since Jim Carrey was in the final Dirty Harry movie, The Dead Pool. #FFBMovieNight
unlabelledView post →look i wish there were a better movie demonstration of how betting markets can change or induce behavior than Dirty Harry: The Dead Pool, but it's really all we got so far. noone has made Jim Bell's "Assasination Politics" into a movie yet
unlabelledView post →The last Dirty Harry movie was called The Dead Pool. Rich sociopaths have wagers on which celebrities will die first, and one of them decides to cheat. Bonus for Jim Carrey as a rock star victim, we get to see his best Axl Rose impression and lip synch to Welcome to the Jungle. 😂

unlabelledView post →That was essentially the plot of the 1988 Dirty Harry movie “The Dead Pool.” The obvious problem is that even if you end up with a list of suspects that doesn’t undo any of the harm from the crime itself.
unlabelledView post →After five films and countless bad guys dispatched by his trusty Magnum, Dirty Harry heads off into the night to enjoy a well-earned retirement. The Dead Pool is the least substantial film in the series, but it’s also quite fun as well: boxd.it/fHKRiV

unlabelledView post →If you remember the Dirty Harry movie The Dead Pool you will remember how Harry sends a mafioso criminal into a fatal stroke simply by flashing some pages at the man saying they contained incontestable evidence of guilt. The guy vapor locks and dies. It's a nice dream to have starring Dear Leader.
unlabelledView post →I rewatched all five movies as part of my semi retirement experiment a year or so ago. They are great until the 4th movie, ‘Sudden Impact.’ ‘The Dead Pool’ is only notable for being Liam Neeson’s first Hollywood vehicle.
unlabelledView post →I didn't like Shao Khan's helmet design, but I loved how he was interpreted (finally, a live action Shao Kahn in a non-shitty movie). The Dead Pool was cool to see, Johnny Cage and Baraka were great, and Kano was hilarious. I had a good time, though they maybe crammed a bit too much in there.

unlabelledView post →Apes is a phenomenal looking film, without a trace of "filmed in Canada" energy. You've almost touched on my point here: The Dead Pool feels like a TV movie, when it isn't.
unlabelledView post →I think sometimes it's sold, sometimes it isn't. It doesn't offend me, it's just a fun thing for a film fan to notice, like day for night shooting. i know the Dead Pool is filmed in SF, that's why I said it has filmed in Canada "energy"

unlabelledView post →16 Blocks is genuinely a better Die Hard movie than DH4.0 & 5.0 in the same way that The gauntlet is a far better Dirty Harry film than The Dead Pool.
unlabelledView post →My parents randomly started watching an old Clint Eastwood movie tonight, The Dead Pool (seems to be a Dirty Harry one?). It features a VERY young Jim Carey as a rock star junkie, and a young-ish Liam Neeson. Seeing them share a scene is… discombobulating.

unlabelledView post →BEWARE THE GRAY GHOST Within 25 minutes, this manages to work as a salute to the past, a generational passing of the baton & thanks to a plot device from The Dead Pool (a film which contains several of its own Batman connections), it is also a fantastically thrilling little adventure #BatmanTAS
unlabelledView post →The Dirty Harry movie, The Dead Pool, but it actually stars Deadpool instead of Clint Eastwood.
unlabelledView post →Looking at the dates, THE DEAD POOL came out a year after ROBOCOP, but obviously I didn't see either of these in the theatre so I'm not actually sure which I saw first, regardless. Anyway, the *actual* first R-rated movie I saw was probably just some comedy with swears or something.

It was certainly time to put the series to bed. Though, imagine my surprise seeing a young Liam Neeson opposite Clint Eastwood. 84% #TheDeadPool

unlabelledView post →But there’s a hype sticker for “The Dead Pool,” a 1988 film that band members appeared in. The sticker describes “Jungle” & “Sweet Child” as hits. “Appetite” took a while to take off; it was only in 1988 that it exploded. That suggests this is a 1988 record—a second pressing.

unlabelledView post →The replies on a post like this are always eye opening. People just don’t watch any movies, must be. I totally get not liking The Rise of Skywalker. But it’s the WORST movie you’ve seen in TEN YEARS? For me, it’d be When Time Ran Out… if Newman weren’t in it. Since he is, it’s The Dead Pool.
