unlabelledView post →Obscure YT of the day: 1974's THE DEATH SQUAD, which Quentin Tarantino says "is a much better movie w/ the same premise as MAGNUM FORCE." Robert Forster (JACKIE BROWN), Claude Akins, Michelle Phillips star. Directed by Harry Falk. youtu.be/9fEp45N4kOs?...
unlabelledView post →One movie I love for some reason I can't entirely explain is Magnum Force, the Dirty Harry movie where a squad of motorcycle cops starts killing anyone they want to as a shapeshifting mass and even Dirty Harry is kind of like Hm.
unlabelledView post →Magnum Force (ironically co-written by JOHN MILIUS of all people) does subvert the explicitly reactionary message of the first film a fair bit
unlabelledView post →My favourite bit from any Dirty Harry film is the bit in Magnum Force where Harry drives past Basil Fawlty who's about to give his car a damn goos thrashing #itv4
unlabelledView post →There is Letters from Iwo Jima, which portrays the perspective of the enemy on the island. And then there his ACAB movie, which ends with a disgruntled SFPD detective blowing up his boss with a car bomb (Magnum Force)
unlabelledView post →On this night (6th February) in 1982, the Scala Cinema was showing The Gauntlet (1977), Dirty Harry (1971), The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) and Magnum Force (1973) as a Clint Eastwood all-nighter.
unlabelledView post →An Italian photomontage movie poster for 1973’s Magnum Force. It’s a film it’s quite possible to rewatch & begin to imagine it’s a Judge Dredd tale. The wastelands of San Francisco become Mega-City One, the bikes Lawgivers, the killer-cops outlaw Judges. Even more than Dirty Harry, it’s pure JD DNA.
unlabelledView post →Reminds me of the “either you’re with us or you’re against us” mantra that was prevalent during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Also similar to a saying from the villains in the Clint Eastwood movie, Magnum Force.
unlabelledView post →Fun fact, the music for the “Meet the Sniper” video for Team Fortress 2 was Lalo Schifrin’s music for the Dirty Harry movie MAGNUM FORCE youtu.be/ZAhlD3h0EyU?...
unlabelledView post →I’m finally ready to reveal my Dirty Harry movie rankings: 1. Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact, The Dead Pool (all tied) 5. Dirty Harry
unlabelledView post →a friend was watching "Magnum Force" (2nd Dirty Harry movie), and discovered that somehow one of the background cars is a 1/55, hand built Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide. #weirdcarbs
unlabelledView post →My debate counterprogramming, not wanting to watch Trump be a reactionary asshole was...a Dirty Harry movie. Magnum Force (1973) is queasy, interesting stuff. The Clint doth protest too much of admitting the worst people alive got rock hard for the first, but also not willing to stop arousing them.
unlabelledView post →Yep tonight's film. Having a BBQ and watching Magnum Force. Some classic Dirty Harry lol #filmsky #magnumforce #70s
unlabelledView post →that's normal: part of the genre / joke "Dirty Harry" (1971) is about *a cop not following the rules* ("fascist") next movie in "Magnum Force" the protagonist is now killing the fascist cops who aren't following the rules, but too much = that defined cop movies since then.
unlabelledView post →For me the most 80s movie is Manhunter (86). The most 90s is The Last Boy Scout (91). Can't decide on a most 70s movie. Perhaps Magnum Force (73) for its feel. None of these are defining movies in cinema but just feel very that decade. I'm scared xXx might be the 2000s contender.
unlabelledView post →i often mention the Clint Eastwood movie Magnum Force because Callahan confesses at the end that he has no faith in the system he defends as a cop but he will still take it over fascism
unlabelledView post →Night Slaves (1970). Tight TV movie that starts with a mystery that still haunts. Short film, all story! James Franciscus, Lee Grant (Damien Omen II), Andrew Prine (Grizzly), Leslie Nielsen, Tisha Sterling (Coogan’s Bluff), Virginia Vincent (Hills Have Eyes)… directed by Ted Post (Magnum Force).
unlabelledView post →Continuing the franchise watch, as tonight's movie is MAGNUM FORCE #NowWatching
unlabelledView post →I am probably only person that has never seen the show - but saw Magnum Force (small) filmed and a big fan of the movie #AT40 #SFO
unlabelledView post →The No1 movie on Monday, December 24th 1973 was Magnum Force with #DavidSoul, remembered also as Hutch and the singer of Don't Give Up on Us Baby... all are remembered here, weegiemidget.wordpress.com/2024/01/16/l...

unlabelledView post →A fabulous 1973 movie poster for Magnum Force, the second Dirty Harry thriller. Designed by Bill Gold with photography by Philippe Halsman, it’s a darn masterpiece. I’d struggle to defend the film - beyond its San Francisco exteriors - or its values, but the poster is remarkable.
unlabelledView post →The police death squad in Magnum Force might genuinely some of my all-time favourite film villains. Such bad vibes. 🎥
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching film number 2 in the series - Magnum Force (1973)
unlabelledView post →"Magnum Force" is by far my favorite Dirty Harry movie. The first was seen by the public as showing Harry as a vigilante. Here, writer John Milius turns that on its head and has Harry chasing TRUE vigilantes. #TCMParty #MagnumForce
unlabelledView post →You simply don’t get this kind of shit anymore. (From 1973’s Magnum Force, the second Dirty Harry movie).
unlabelledView post →next up: another Dirty Harry movie, Magnum Force (1973). We seem to be on a binge of watching movie franchises lately. #Filmsky youtube.com/watch?v=qVk8...
unlabelledView post →yeah - it's kind of funny: Dirty Harry: Cop frustrated with ineffective justice system goes rogue and murders an obvious criminal. Magnum Force: Same cop takes down a gang of cops who murder . . . the same types of people Harry murdered in the first movie. . .
unlabelledView post →Magnum Force isn't as incredible as Dirty Harry but it's a damn fine sequel. Fantastic film. 📽️ My ★★★★½ review of Magnum Force on Letterboxd boxd.it/71hFZN 📽️ #Filmsky
unlabelledView post →In the film Magnum Force (1973) Clint Eastwood gets home late at night and grabs a cold burger from the fridge, then lies in bed to eat it
unlabelledView post →SOUL REAVER. I review the second Dirty Harry movie MAGNUM FORCE, right here... nuts4r2.blogspot.com/2026/03/magn...
unlabelledView post →It might have been an homage to the motorcycle cops from the second Dirty Harry film, Magnum Force. Lots of leather there.
unlabelledView post →😂🤣 Saw that too. Fully agree. The Godfather, Texas chainsaw massacre 😩 dirty Harry and Magnum Force. Saturday night fever, Rosemary's baby. Adults were so different 🤦🏻♀️ I think I saw 2 Disney movies, zero cartoons, but every tv show & movie kids shouldn't 🤣🤷🏻♀️
unlabelledView post →My DIRTY HARRY blu-ray collection arrived yesterday, and I watched MAGNUM FORCE (1973). Not as intense as the first film (but how could it ever hope to match Andrew Robinson's performance as the Scorpio Killer?) but very well crafted and I like how it challenges Harry's politics/world view.
unlabelledView post →RIP Lalo Schifrin, one of my favourite composers! Mission: Impossible, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, Telefon, Sudden Impact - so good! A jazz man, Lalo was a natural for movie scores. He was good at horror too, here's his rejected Exorcist score: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oAd...
unlabelledView post →Watching Magnum Force, the first Clint Eastwood film I ever saw (on a re-run in 1975).
unlabelledView post →"Hang 'Em High" was directed by Ted Post, who would go on to direct Eastwood in "Magnum Force," which I think is, by far, the best Dirty Harry movie. #HangEmHigh #TCMParty
unlabelledView post →Magnum Force was Milius? How 'bout that. (Didn't he also make the film version of Hair?) (I know we're riffing but Milius to me is a great use-case for 'it's complicated.')
unlabelledView post →Born OTD 100 years ago: Hal Holbrook (d 2021) who parleyed his long-running one-man Mark Twain show into a long career in film and TV. My favourite Holbrook roles: Dirty Harry's nemesis Briggs in Magnum Force; and the "solitary" 19th century settler in TV miniseries The Awakening Land.
unlabelledView post →The Clint Eastwood movie “Magnum Force” has a scene where a cop basically says “I wish I could shoot anyone I wanted to and not worry about consequences” while having a plot that shows why that is a bad thing (and the aforementioned cop gets killed, too)…
unlabelledView post →Not sure who said it first, but I quote Dirty Harry with that line, "A man's got to know his limitations." It's from the movie Magnum Force. Maybe Dirty Harry got it from your dad! There are so many good Dirty Harry (and Clint Eastwood in general) lines.
unlabelledView post →@adamscantwell.bsky.social I missed Fabio Frizzi at the DNA but caught The Kyle Eastwood Quintet playing selections from Clint Eastwood movie scores. Here they are busting out with some Lalo Schifrin Magnum Force.
unlabelledView post →Watching Magnum Force with my grandpa because it was the the first movie he was a grip on and got flashbanged by the opening credits playing the SNIPER TF2 THEME WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S FROM THIS MOVIE
unlabelledView post →This brings to mind the great line from the Eastwood movie "Magnum Force," where Dirty Harry says "A man's gotta know his limitations," as the bad guy's car explodes. Sometimes you just have to accept when you've been whipped. And, not to do so is simply crazy.
unlabelledView post →I think it was the movie Magnum Force where he shoots 39 people dead while investigating a suspicious murder
unlabelledView post →#TheDeathSquad: Ex-cop recruited back onto force to infiltrate group of dirty cops murdering criminals who escape justice. It sounds like MAGNUM FORCE b/c it's basically MAGNUM FORCE. It isn't quite as good, but for a 70min MfTV movie, it's pretty solid. Forster perf and Dave Grusin score shine.
unlabelledView post →On this day in movie history: Magnum Force directed by Ted Post released December 13, 1973. Cast: Clint Eastwood, Hal Holbrook, Mitchell Ryan, David Soul, Tim Matheson, Kip Niven, Robert Urich, Felton Perry, Maurice Argent, Margaret Avery, Richard Devon, Tony Giorgio, Jack Kosslyn. #Noir
unlabelledView post →Love Magnum Force, the film that says "Sometimes it takes a fascist cop to beat even worse fascist cops." God bless you John Milius, you unhinged bastard.
unlabelledView post →He was one of the co-creators! And he wrote the screenplay for MAGNUM FORCE, based on his treatment for the original DIRTY HARRY movie. And he wrote the original script for A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. He has a very narrow, very focused vision.
unlabelledView post →"DIRTY HARRY is the vastly better directed movie but MAGNUM FORCE is the more ~interesting~ film." My ★★★★½ review of #MagnumForce boxd.it/abwN7X
unlabelledView post →Magnum Force, great movie (but wasn't a date movie). #AT40
unlabelledView post →RIP the composer to Magnum Force, that one Dirty Harry movie with such a catchy theme that someone at Valve copied it when making Meet the Sniper's theme: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORRu...
unlabelledView post →Dirty Harry theme, obviously chill and amazing, but much like the film in general, I prefer Magnum Force more. That huge massive fuck off great blasting fanfare at the end, just makes you absolutely convinced the film will kick ass. RIP Lalo www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAhl...
unlabelledView post →Depends on the Dirty Harry movie. The Dirty Harry of Magnum Force would not. As Eastwood became more conservative, so did his character. The Charlton Heston Effect.
unlabelledView post →We are getting a literally KILLER Double Feature after tonight's Noir Alley with "Magnum Force," by far the best Dirty Harry movie, in my opinion. Then, the absolutely BONKERS "The Gauntlet," most notable for having one of the greatest movie posters of all time from Frank Frazetta. #TCMParty
unlabelledView post →Never liked those films - he wasn't nasty enough! 😂 'I'm afraid you've misjudged me' from Magnum Force might be my favourite line from any film ever!
unlabelledView post →Magnum Force is a fantastic movie and it is because of all you’ve said But I also feel that having Hal Holbrook as the main antagonist is such a great choice; Holbrook’s a fav of mine and he’s so damn talented and nearly frightening as LT Briggs
unlabelledView post →Pretty much a lift from the Dirty Harry movie Magnum Force then?
unlabelledView post →71 Magnum Force The second Dirty Harry movie. This time Clint figures out that the recent killings are being done by someone from inside the police department, and he's none too happy about it either. Surprisingly good! #MagnumForce #ClintEastwood #DirtyHarry
