This has been one of the most exciting and unusual games I've worked on in my career! store.steampowered.com/app/2781470/...

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I released Eldritch in 2013, the same year as BioShock Infinite. Since then, I have shipped two more solo commercial games (NEON STRUCT and Slayer Shock), two more employed games (The Blackout Club and South Park: Snow Day!) and eight game jams (dphrygian.itch.io). I hope Judas is worth the wait.
unlabelledView post →South Park: Snow Day—a 3D co-op South Park game by the developers of the Blackout Club—got announced today. And I did a bunch of writhing for it! I’ve been waiting to talk about this for two years ahhhh!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wPsWPTuSxd0&feature=youtu.be
unlabelledView post →I forgot this was in my library. It was a fun game while it lasted, Devs have since abandoned it a few years ago. There really wasn’t any talk of updates or future content, just radio silence. It was an awesome concept and I wanted more out of it but it’s just dead. Hope they’ll come back, but at this point in time I can’t recommend it right now.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Were chatting with my friends on whether or not the devs were still active in the game, they immediately popped into our session and started trying to sow distrust between us ("Do you trust the perplexed one?"), but our power of friendship was too strong so they sicked the Shape on us. 10/10 Will fistfight whatever Voice threatens my dog again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead and abandoned by developers. Other reviewers that know the game is dead but still recommend it are irresponsible. No dead game should be mostly positive, potential buyers need to know that the game is dead and the developers took the money and ran.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello Question. It's been a little while. Since this game released you have been great at keeping contact with your fanbase. The connection being a large part of how we learned what this games story was about. I understand people have hurdles or get discouraged or experience quite a lot of pain anguish and strife. Especially in this post 2020 world. We all need a vacation. But please do not keep this up. If you intend on finishing the story of these characters. Please do, we would love to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game with alot of potential that was killed off by Covid 19. Do not buy if you don't have friends to play it with.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs ditched the game before it was done, do not get the game, its still very much unfinished and the only reason why its staying up is because big youtubers covered it in the past and they hope to ride that wave for as long as possible with 44€ of cosmetics. Avoid this game, its not worth it even on sale!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Blackout Club was, and still is, one of my favorites. The thing is, however, that it was the most fun at its peak activity--when the interactive, real-time storyline was still running and the developers were updating it accordingly. The Blackout Club was done in part to tell a story that players could be a part of, and that story is now concluded. I would still 100% recommend playing it, but if you're going to recommend it you HAVE to be honest about the fact that it's a dead game and there…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is dead now, but even in its prime it had some... issues. The best part of it was the devs could sort of invade your game as the various "totally not gods" and affect the lore and move the story forward. The problem was... they only really ever did it to big name streamers and favored people in their communities and most people never got to engage with that. The story is "completed" and the devs have moved on and what is left just isn't enough to really keep the fires burning.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1.) only buy this on sale, it is not worth $30 considering it isn't being updated anymore. 2.) this game had so much potential and it physically pains me it never got the chance to live up to said potential. my friends and I discovered this game 4-ish years ago, just after the devs had moved on from it. it sucks they only gave it a year and a half before dropping it, because the concept and lore is fantastic. you play as a group of kids who live in a town that's been targeted by mysterious…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i loved this game, fun gameplay and really really cool easter eggs. it sucks that the devs are no longer working on it, and its not really worth the full price tag anymore since its abandoned. i wish the devs lowered the price so more people can have access to this game in its current state.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It Was, and Is still to some extent, a pretty fun game. Unfortunately, the game hasn't been updated in 4 years. I'm note sure there are servers for them to shut down, as it seems like the matchmaking is peer-to-peer, which is good for it's longevity. But since it hasn't been updated in a while, player count is barely existant. I hope the devs are doing well, and have a new game coming out soon, or future plans for this title, as it seemed pretty well received.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Question: Have you ever become a super-fan of a game your friend works on? It's well known I have zero chill, so when it comes to The Blackout Club, Rain World or currently Sea of Thieves I am loudly keen, but I'm wondering if anyone else is in the same place
unlabelledView post →Honestly, would love to play it again. My favorite co-op game. Unfortunately no ones playing it anymore, and my friends are not interested. It was fantastic at its peak, but it's been long forgotten.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended? Yes—with caveats. Bring friends, blink carefully, and enjoy the eerie charm of this forgotten co-op experience. This game had all the makings of a standout co-op horror title. With a fresh premise and clever mechanics—like the tense blinking mechanic and the eerie interplay between the town and underground zones—it offered something genuinely different when it launched. But ambition can be a double-edged sword. Developer interviews reveal that while they had grand ideas,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game was ahead of its time i hope it gets revived at some point.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It would be great if the developers actually came back to finish their game. But as it stands right now, this is an incomplete project being sold for $30, with even more paid cosmetic items on top of that. I don't want a refund, I don't want this game to get delisted. Just please come back and finish it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played this for many years and ill be honest its fun but they never are gonna add anything else to it, for 30 bucks not worth it at this point in time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not at the current stage. It was lovely while EH events and community were active, but these days you could barely find anyone to play with, which makes one of the game modes basically inaccessible unless you bring your own friends along. The friends I did bring along, new to the game, found the plot and lore both confusing and lacking, which makes sense since huge part of the story was told through the live interactive events.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is very fun BUT Devs have since abandoned it. IF the devs come back with more updates and stuff then I will recommend this game. But until they do, I don't recommend it
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was one of those very unique games that had a fantastic premise and was scary at times. Sadly there was never enough people to keep this ride alive long enough. Loved the creepy monsters and the atmosphere!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs ditched this ♥♥♥♥ for seemingly no reason. Shame!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is the perfect blend of horror and hilarity, like if Stranger Things and Scooby-Doo had a love child. Imagine sneaking around your neighborhood with friends, only to discover that your neighbors are sleepwalking zombies and there's a monster that makes your mom's angry voice sound soothing. It's teamwork, terror, and ten times better than my actual high school social life. 10/10, would scream 'WHAT WAS THAT?!' again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredible potential. Sadly it's been abandoned long ago, but still super fun with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I really liked this game and I used to play it a lot back during covid with one of my old friends. It's really fun as a co-op game and it has really interesting lore. From what I remember, the devs had an aspect that allowed them to interact with the community in game as these sort of deities which was interesting and new. I wish they had continued to support this game but it hasn't gotten any updates or new content in years. Even though it probably won't happen, if the devs did decide…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i'll miss you blackout club, its been 5 years you were worth 30$ when you came out definitely NOT worth it now that the game is dead. 🥀🙂↕️
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Going through some stuff to organize and clean up the house and stumbled on this little piece I did for my character in The Blackout Club when I was obsessed with the game. It's actually pretty decent and now I want to play the game again. 😅
unlabelledView post →I do not recall ever dropping a game after 2 hours because it's been so boring. This game has nothing. I wanted to play with my co-op crew, and the game is such a grind that it is unbelievable. Basically, progressing to new missions require a certain level, and to reach a level you have to grind each mission over and over again, and you just need more an more levels for each new mission (and there are only 4 missions in total). Very bad game IMO, very boring, and it also has a fair share…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such potential only to be recklessly abandonded by the devs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game but nobody plays it anymore. I got it because I saw it in an old Markiplier video
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this due to the game being essentially abandoned by the devs. It had promise and was a decent time but nobody plays it anymore and there are no new events or updates for nearly 5 years now as of 2025.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun, by yourself or with friends, i remember picking this game up back in 2021 and the player base was still somewhat active...but now you get around 16 people TOPS in peak hours. My suggestion is to just make the game free, its been abandoned but is still interesting to play, especially with the stalker mode! (I just want to be able to stalk people again :[ )
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are still 1600 players on the official discord server. The game is as thrilling and funny as at release. Forgotten Gem that deserves WAY more attention. One of the most interesting horror games i played.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i loved this game, sadly its dead, but it can still be fun every now and then by yourself
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just remove this, abandonware
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When this first came out, it had great potential. BEWARE DEAD GAME DO NOT BUY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sad to say I am genuinely disappointed in the amount of money wasted to play this, not be able to refund and have the devs call this a completed game. This had so much potential to be a better game. Even if you have one one or two people to play with this game still feels so bland and empty in the later stages. Also $45 in cosmetics is such a gouge at this point of the dead state of the game, they should be given for free.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →games abandoned
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completely abandoned. Interesting features but poor support and a worse community. I enjoyed my 12 hours, but realize that I did not enjoy it enough to repeat while grinding for all perks/levels/maps. A shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Noticeably abandoned game, half the map is missing and there is no ending. Devs probably brought it out of beta just so they wouldn't have to actually finish it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i would love to rate this game positive bc of it's potential and funny moments but gets old fast. Devs abandoned it yet show up in your lobby and mess with you (in a fun way) hopefully its picked back up at some point 4/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned the game with covid as the excuse, despite already developing from home. Is a massive grindfest with no conclusion and deceptively small content. Could have been great,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish the devs would revive this game. It's SO fun, but so dead... :(
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Blackout Club is 50% off: store.steampowered.com/app/599080/T...
unlabelledView post →I remember being extremely drawn in by the tutorial, but the gameplay loop lacks that tension and quickly becomes monotonous. I booted this game up again to play with friends, and after a few runs, we were already bored of exploring the same chunk of map over and over again, progressing towards some nebulous goal. You level up at a glacial pace, and it takes entirely too long to unlock the other half of the town. There are interesting concepts, but the game seems to have been abandoned. Not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An art piece of my OC Aubie for The Blackout Club, an amazing game that I miss so so much! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
unlabelledView post →Could have been a fun co-op game, It can be, But Its potential has been lost, plus It has certain Issues and it feels very off, It feels unfinished. Its also dead. I would avoid buying this game If you got no friends to play it with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game play loop is boring and repetitive, they coop aspect is unimportant and the atmosphere is non existent. Interestings concepts that weren't fully realised, suffers from a cheap feeling atmosphere, map and models.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While i like what this game has to offer; it was left for dead. Quite a shame, but what can you do about it. Unless they by some pure miracle decide to invest into new updates and area releases- i do not think it is worth playing for so many hours.. Especially at the price its at.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun asf but the devs abandoned it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I obsessed with setting and atmosphere of this game! I think it has so much potential and I'm still waiting for an update!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This piece was made in: Feb 7, 2019 Here is one of my fan oc's from the game, The Blackout Club. I love my crazy man. This is going to be the last piece I post for today, I will be posting more of my old works when I'm able to! I'm gonna get some sleep now pfff #RedRingDoctor #Fanoc #TBOC
unlabelledView post →devs released the game at an insane price and never supported their game or added any basic features people asked for. abandoned the game very quickly and just threw in like 80 dollars of DLC, all being very basic clothing edits. kinda glad the devs fizzles out i guess. but am sad bcuz the core game had potential if it didnt have so many issues and was freaking 30 dollars
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An exceptionally good game with a super interesting story and fun gameplay. Despite its age, the fact you can simply play with your friends makes it hold up quite a bit! If you like horror, stealth, and plot, this game is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most unique games I played. Visually it`s like if you mashed Stranger Things and Dishonored together, but it`s a completely different game, because there is no combat apart from knocking out enemies with certain gadgets, you mostly hide and look for evidence while avoiding NPCs, stalker player if he joins and an invisible entity if you make too much fuss. At first it was a horror game but as you get to know the layout and how the mechanics work it turns into a really fun and engaging…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Then I joined up with some other ex-2KM folks at Question, and my ninth game was The Blackout Club. For people who got to experience it in its live incarnation, it was something uniquely exciting. It was also one of the most challenging projects of my career. store.steampowered.com/app/599080/T...
unlabelledView post →This game used to be fun and had a ton of potential, but was randomly dropped by the devs and abandoned even when it still had a lot of players.
