Directed by David Twohy

unlabelledView post →Legend has it that when audiences viewed the Lumières’ film ‚The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat Station‘ in 1896, the sight of the approaching train sent viewers running away in terror. In such lore lives truth, however: A moving picture was a shock to the senses, revolutionary to behold.

unlabelledView post →"Arrival" ---- Great movie!!! All of it from beginning to end was well done. Amy Adams was fantastic as was Jeremy Renner. More movies about languages would be good as they are rare. note: this is not the movie "The Arrival" with Charlie Sheen.

Below is and example of its HORRIFICLY lewd content, viewer's discretion advised

unlabelledView post →Anyway I deeply recommend Ted Chiang's fiction. Most people now know is work through the film The Arrival. Any of his short story collections are masterpieces but "Stories of Your Life and Others" is a great start. For gamedevs I always recommend his novella, 'The Lifecycle of Software Objects".

unlabelledView post →I often wonder if the Arrival, a 1996 Charlie Sheen movie, is a documentary because it would explain a lot if aliens were doing climate change deliberately.

Sure it's a little X-Files-y, and a lot of the twists are either glaringly obvious or make zero sense, but by and large it's pretty original. The climate-change message does beat you over the head a little, but only gently, which I can handle. Obviously it didn't take anyway, considering we're here twenty years later and the problem's only gotten worse. Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite…
