Teslagrad has always been one of my favorite games. I have played hundreds of games since Teslagrad and it remains at the top of my mind as a beautifully crafted place brimming with love. Its wordless story and instructions allow the art and puzzle design to shine; it is a first rate puzzle platformer. The remaster is compatible with save files from the original game so you can jump right into the new content if you want.

Well designed puzzle-platform game with interesting gravity puzzles and nice graphics. The every-hit-kills-you mechanic makes it way too frustrating for me though, especially during the (badly designed) boss fights and trial-and-error sections in the later parts of the game. I gave up in the section where you rise up in the blue vortex between the spikes. Not for me, this game is.

Teslagrad is a fun and cute game, family friendly and any age enjoyable. I remember playing the original wanting there to be more, and was happily surprised with the remaster and Teslagrad released today. The game play is fun and best with a controller, but you can play just fine on a keyboard. All controls can be easily remapped for desired style. The story is fantastic and the artwork cute and well done. This was a fun and enjoyable experience from start to finish. I remember the boss…

Another game simply hard for no reason. I tried to do my best but man the precision it needs for each level is too high and with my controller its not possible to do without trying for like 100 times. Thus I give up, sorry to say but I don't want to waste any more of my time. It requires a lot of patience and precision which does not make any sense with the story it was going with. I am dropping the game since its gonna take too much time just to go through each obstacle with me dying too…

Physics-based platforming where the physics often fail to do what they are supposed to, so you have to reset the room and try again. You die from a single hit and bosses don't have tells for when they are going to deal damage, so you have to die and restart the fight from the beginning to learn the fight. Game is not a metroidvania.

This one is another tough review to write and makes me wish Steam had a "Neutral" option for reviews, but here goes: Teslagrad is a physics-based (mostly involving magnetism) puzzle platformer with very slight Metroidvania elements. The story of the game is told in wordless cutscenes and all of the worldbuilding is contained within the optional collectable scrolls. The big problem of the game is that its two halves both feel very underdeveloped. For a physics platformer your jump feels very…

It's always hard to get puzzle games right, because if they're too easy, people will not think they're challenged enough. But if the puzzles are too hard, people will be frustrated and not aware of what the trick is supposed to be to solve it, and might even do things out of order. Teslagrad Remastered tells a minimalist story about a young boy on the run when a band of man ransack his village, taking refuge in an old electric tower. I do not know who the boy is called, much less any of the…

A very challenging puzzle game with multiple boss fights where you die in one hit, if that appeals to you, you'll love it. If not, stay clear, I give it a thumbs-mid because of the difficulty. It's got a simple, easy to follow story, largely spread out across the 36 collectibles the game has tucked away across its levels. Close to the end of the game, you'll get a handy map telling you where you can find them, but you'll likely still be utilizing an online guide anyway. You'll see other folks…

Frustrating boss fighting game, like Cuphead but much worse. You die in one hit and the attacks are impossible to predict the first time, so you have to die a lot to learn the boss. The fight doesn't immediately restart when you die; it takes 5-10 seconds to reactivate which doesn't seem like a lot but it adds to the frustration. Instead of shooting you have to use a magnetism gimmick. There is also a casual exploration game tagged on, with some mediocre platforming and some very easy puzzles…

The game is generally quite good, but still I decided to give it a thumbs down. Simply because I think the amount of changes to this remastered are so miniscule that it doesn't justify a rerelease. This could've been a simple update. (maybe with the choice if you want to return to the previous unnerfed version on steam version control) I was curious and bought it although I played the game long ago on my WiiU. It doesn't even look much different, so what actually is really "remastered" and…

The world building is top tier. The music is honestly quite catchy and varies throughout the various environments in the game. Speaking of which, the environments are very detailed and varied. I absolutely love this game! Really glad they released a remastered version :D The puzzles are fun and challenging, and I find the use of electricity and magnetism really enjoyable. Though, one of the things I like the most about this game (and the sequel) is the unique art style and music. Also the visual effects are very pleasing.

The platforming on this puzzle platformer is genuinely some of the worst movement that I have experienced since playing some trash roblox cash grab. However, where the distinguishing aspect lies is that the roblox game was laughably bad whereas this is just frustrating. At many points, you have to walk long stretches of terrain slowly, due to missing a jump that has to do with inconsistent physics and awkward puzzles. The puzzles are not difficult, but instead often tedious and slow as you wait…

3/10 + art style + decent puzzles - 1 hit instant death - sometimes get sent back really far - long bosses that ruin the game and im unable to beat. not hard so much as it is annoying with what feels like a janky oversized hitbox. 0 plans to finish this one - all the achievements are just did you grab that identical thing

Pretty Janky and poorly made game. It just falls short in every aspect. -Art and animation had effort put into them but it's not quite up to standard. Visually it's a bit too sloppy and unrefined. it lacks in smoothness of animations and quality of individual frame drawings. -Clunky design that results in wasted player time, lacking basic QOL features and good design philosophies employed in other "metroidvainias". (e.g Map and UI is very bad at giving a clear visual of your location, exact…

A simple but atmospheric game with nice art, great music, silent storytelling, and some clever puzzle and boss ideas. My main issue is the movement precision. Aiming in the air or while using abilities can feel imprecise and inconsistent, and the instant-death design makes some parts feel more like trial and error than a fair skill check. The second ending being locked behind collectibles is also annoying, since the game doesn’t make them feel important early on, and the hard-to-read map…

I didn't play the original release, so will write a feedback as if it is the one. It's a nice game! I really like that they decided to keep the difficulty of puzzles reasonable, rather than obscuring them to the point that you need to take half an hour to advance through another room, as it may happen in some other games (hello, CrossCode). I liked the story and the way the developers presented it (through visuals only). Overall, it took me 6.2 hours to complete the game with all collectibles.…

I didn't notice any difference from the original game graphics-wise. The challenge rooms were more annoying than fun, with the exception of one or two. In a thumbs-up or thumbs-down world, this game is worth it, if only because you can get it on some seriously good sales. Not worth it if you already have the original, though.

But I didn't see why it's a remaster is the same game nothing change from the original one from my point of view is just a bit more expensive compared to the original one . This game is not bad, the controls and bosses are what made it a bad experience for me. First of all, i have to say that i dropped the game near the end, so this won't be a proper review. I'll start with what i found to be the positives. The artstyle is "cute", i liked the characters' animations, but found the backgrounds to be mostly bland and boring. The puzzles and anything involving eletromagnetism/polarity are neat and they hit a soft spot for me, because i like the subject a lot. That's…

Cannot recommend, the game is very slow and it does not save at appropriate times. I got to a large eye monster boss and decided to come back later, I found I had lost roughly half my progress in the game including other completed bosses and a powerup. It doesn't let you save manually, so if the autosaves aren't triggering after bosses and powerups then idk if they just expect me to beat whole acts of the game without quitting

Clever, fun, and doesn't overstay its welcome. It reminds me a great deal of indie puzzle platformers of the past like Braid and LIMBO. While Teslagrad doesn't match up to either of those two for me, the atmosphere inside the tower is, on the whole, great. The puzzles rarely feel repetitive or wastes of time, though I found myself wishing for just a touch more meat on the bone, even for a casual game, like the puzzles in The Swapper. I originally got this game as part of a bundle and I'm happy I did! The movement is a bit janky at times, but the puzzles are nothing extreme and the game is short enough that the experience is still enjoyable. There are 36 collectibles in the game and the game really helps you to find them all, as only 1 of them (the "last" one) is actually exposed and you have to go out of your way to get the others... Great visuals, great music, good and a little bit challenging platforming. Bosses are annoying tho, always have a problem with the timing. Also the chievs are just for the collectables not actually for defeating the last boss and getting the true ending. Always more satisfying to defeat a boss when a achievement pings instead of when getting collectables so bit disappointed in that but it is their design decision.
