unlabelledView post →I have mixed feeling about this game. My first playthrough: - I started with the Standard difficulty - the visuals very good, - the music was good, - the combat was something I had to get used to, but it was ok, - and the story was ok. Overall a pleasant experience. Finished everything, beat all the bosses, collect all the loot, achievements, etc. My second playthrough though, nothing like my first... I chose bloody whiskers difficulty and Oh my god, the combat, felt absolutely horrendous:…

unlabelledView post →This is a very solid game, and I find it unfortunate that I simply have to give it a negative review. The story is good and original = the rat kingdom is under attack by amphibious kingdom and some other aggressive species. The hand drawn graphics is cute and detailed. The soundtrack is good. It has lots of weapons and armor to chose from. It has a main quest line and some side quests. It comes with a DLC incorporated that extends the play-time. So why the negative review? This is for sure…

unlabelledView post →100% Completion The game itself is really good. It has a charming style and a decent story. I genuinely enjoyed my time with it. The music is also very pleasant and fits the atmosphere perfectly. However, there are a few things that left me confused. The game offers three difficulty levels. Following the recommendations, I've completed it on a medium difficulty and then replayed it on ''Bloody Whiskers''. The game seems to aim for a Dark Souls-like approach with mechanics such as equipment…

unlabelledView post →The story is very cute and I played far longer that I wanted to because I liked it so much, but the gameplay is pretty terrible. First and foremost, the combat sucks. It reminds me of a worse version of Salt & Sanctuary or a continuous quick-time event sequence. It is never fun to fight. Second, the structure is extremely linear and there is no point in exploring because areas are empty until the player accepts a side quest to go to that specific area. You can also only accept one side quest at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After finishing the base game + DLC on Standard mode and Bloody Whiskers mode, I can say the game is fun and overall a good experience, but only on Standard. On Standard difficulty, it’s probably one of the easiest soulslikes you’ll ever play. It feels balanced, manageable, and enjoyable. Enemies hit reasonably hard, mistakes are forgivable, and the game flows well. But the moment you move up to higher difficulties, especially Bloody Whiskers, everything falls apart. That mode is honestly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun 2D Souls-Like with a great aesthetic. I want to recommend this game, but some of the hit boxes are way too wide, making dodge-only attacks that you cannot block almost undodgeable. Souls games can have immense difficulty as long as my failures are clearly mine. In Tails of Iron, I'd say about half my deaths I groan and mumble and get frustrated because I died from a series of attacks I hit the correct inputs at nearly the frame-perfect timing in the correct direction to dodge, but the…

unlabelledView post →I ended up 100% completing Tails of Iron, all weapons, all armor, and I pushed through the hardest DLC difficulty (biggest mistake). My final in-game time was just a little over 11 hours, which honestly felt like the perfect length for the kind of game it is. Short, brutal, and memorable. What surprised me the most is how something that looks so cute on the surface can be so relentlessly violent and challenging underneath. ails of Iron tells its story in a really unusual way. There’s almost…

I have beaten ds1 ds3 and lies of p multiple times and i probably have over 400 or even 500 hours in souls like games, i even beat lies of p no death to bosses one time, so i know and im good at souls games so that means this game should be esier than those right? nope the hitboxes on this game are TRASH more times then not i dogde a attack or im standing behind the boss and the boss still attacks me even tho IM NOT IN THE ATTACK, If you are new into…

unlabelledView post →Why did they even add the dodge mechanic? Half the time when you dodge you can be touching an enemy when the red lines appear and it will not roll past them and will stay in front of them getting hit. Many enemies will just stun lock you and do an entire health bar worth of damage one shotting you.. Good concept of a game very poor execution of how many game mechanics should work.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played on Bloody Whiskers. Bloody Whiskers is lazy and garbage. More health is ok, more damage is ok but when you speed up the enemies the combat and movesets you created just vanish. Some bosses were on 1.5x speed. Just lazy design for more difficulty. Post game is garbage. Fetch quest 1, fetch quest 2, fetch quest 10 million. Go there come back here go to the other room come back. 5/10 walking simulator. Post game bosses are just recycled bosses from the main game. Boring. Frog…

unlabelledView post →This game is like a story book with pictures! About Redgi, one where you'd want your dad to read it to you before bed every night chapter by chapter. The Art is just so wonderful it makes me giggle like a child again! Outstanding game and a good story to go along with it! Combat is kind of janky by modern standard but hey, I like it! 250% Recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. That’s how I wound summarise it. It’s very entertaining. I played it in normal difficulty and it was not easy. I did several times but every time you defeat your enemies it’s really rewarding. The art is so pretty and the story is ok. You meet lovely friend in the way. The only thing I didn’t like was that sometimes to progress on the story you have to do side quests. It’s mandatory and some of them are just a bit repetitive. Apart from that, very nice game. I will end up playing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming game well worth the $3 I paid for it. Impressive showing for a small indie team, but does have some flaws. Pros: - Artwork is fantastic throughout and does a lot of the heavy lifting in this game. - Music works well with artwork to give a nice 'vibe' throughout. - Attention to detail was really charming, so many animated characters in the background when in town or during boss fights. - Narrated by VA for Geralt of Rivia. - Combat, while clunky, is fairly entertaining (which is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I decided this year would be one of experimenting with playing different game genres than the ones I usually play. So far, I've been dabbling with Souls or harder combat type games with the First Berserker Khazan demo and Tails of Iron. Any recommendations for starter Souls games?
unlabelledView post →That said, what I did end up picking up with some of that credit was: - Astro Bot - First Berserker Khazan (Preorder) - Tails of Iron 2 (Preorder) - Returnal I have enough credit left over to buy any other PS5 game that pops up that I want. Probably Ghost of Yotai if nothing comes before it.
unlabelledView post →Awesome art direction! At the beginning, this game is really enjoyable and gives you some of the best vibes you can get. But where there is fun, there are also unfun things: the combat is very potato. Most of the time you do not understand how you take damage. Some attack animations from bosses are impossible to see - they are very fast or the warnings are very small. Some bosses are also bugged, like "Moleguard": after he attacked me, I rolled into him and he just froze. There are a lot of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tails of Iron is a solid game brought down by some pretty serious flaws. I am on the fence of thumbing up or down, but considering I spent a lot of my playtime frustrated with the game and remaining only just interested enough to finish, I have to thumb it down - I don't think most people will have fun with it. To get the good stuff out of the way: the story is really solid and the storytelling itself is impeccable. The game's opening is incredibly compelling and fuels the rest of the title…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Good: - Good sound design/atmosphere - Combat and weapon variety are (just) OK - Short campaign; it doesn't overstay its welcome (about 6 hours if you don't include the squirrel village) The Bad: - A LOT of walking back and forth. You will see the same locations over and over again - Less than two hours in, the game already has you grinding side quests for gold coins - Clunky movement and platforming - Boss design is not very impressive; the final boss fight is very underwhelming I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. It has its flaws, but it's still pretty solid. I don't recommend doing every single side quest like I did, because it ended up outstaying its welcome. Not a good game for people who like getting every achievement, since one of them requires you to beat the whole game again on the hardest difficulty, and it's not a game that warrants a second playthrough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game. Perfectly balanced default setting. No need to play again. About to buy the sequel for $13. But this one is worth the price retail or not. No bugs, no crashing,...great indie. Happy to support.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very borderline thumbs up recommendation from me. This is a very short game - i got nearly every achievement playing through blind in ~10 hours. My actual save in-game shows closer to 8 or 9 and that includes the DLC. The DLC is very very short, i'm talking like maybe 1 hour. The game is not too hard and does have you backtrack a lot throughout the map for side quests later which can get a bit annoying, but is excusable since it is so short. I also did not find the game to be too hard…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everything lasts 2 hour to do in this game. You talk to someone? No skip the "dialogue" which is some squeaking of a mouse. You wait and even after finishing the dialogue there is extra 2-3 seconds where you wait your mouse to shake his head in approval to finish the dialogue EVERY SINGLE TIME. You break an impassable terrain? It respawns after you die so you have to break it again which lasts another 10 seconds each time if you die during that quest. You died and returning to where you were…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed the game - finished the main story, village quests, ranger quests, found all the bards, built a tavern. But arena broke me. I had issues with hitboxes and reading enemy patterns before - but I managed to power through it, with couple of deaths. But the final arena fights in the moletown were just brutal and unfair. Drained my energy and I can't muster up the energy or will to play the expansion after the bull crap I had to experience. I would give the game 6/10, but I'll leave…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So this game has a few things going for it, the length is pretty solid for what it is, the combat is simple but fluid, and the game will force you to play how it wants you to play for better or worse. This game is slick in it's animations, and those kills are really satisfying, especially when it comes to bosses. I assumed from the presentation it was going to be a metroidvania and I guess you can argue it just for the gas mask allowing you to go to new areas but it doesn't fit the mold…
