60 of 185 · most liked firstSo, after about 19h playtime and 100% achievement completion, do I recommend Swag and Sorcery? No, absolutely not. Not even on sale. I've wasted my time so you don't have to, so let me explain why Swag and Sorcery is a pile of... mediocrety, horrible design and unrealised potential. Graphics Let's start this on a positive note, shall we. Graphics are a nice looking pixel-art style and competent animations. Good job. Music I have no strong opinions about the music. It's there I guess,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awful. Click fight 10000 times just why. Developers should feel ashamed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Grindy, unfunny, and unfortunately very boring. Would do well as a phone app, but on PC...it doesn't feel robust enough to really be worth the attention.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Idle RGP, sign me up! Unfortunately it has all the grinding of an idle game without the tools to let it idle, Even just a simple option to have your hero's repeat a dungeon automatically would have been a huge improvement.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →imagine a idle game except it wont let you go idle
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like they had good meat as a base but the potatoes simply didn't exist. It had potential it just felt intentionally cut short or something... I have weird feelings about it because it was fun but there was not much to do and certain mechanics become underused or useless later on. Sad. Maybe if they make a second one it will be a fully fleshed out experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not just grind. The heroes do not loop in battles. There is no autoplay. You need to manually restart the the battles everytime with little rewards. The game starts out fun but plummets into the boring area very dramatically. Would be great to play on mobile platforms but not on PC. As long as there is no surprise autobattle upgrade after 5 years, I wouldn't recommend this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the grind in this game gets unfun really fast. it was a cool time to chill out, but around this point, i'm not enjoying the gameplay loop of sending my guys out, babysitting them or having them chain chug potions to make it back with minimal results. loop hero is a much better, much more challenging and rewarding game to play. check that out instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →would not recommend it, even if it were free extremely boring not worth your time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Part of me wants to recommend it while the other part don't. At the beginning the game is relatively fun. But when it gets to the mid to late game it gets progressively repetitive where you have to keep running the same dungeons over and over. But the catch is there is no AUTO feature for this game, which basically makes grinding almost unbearable. If you want to try, do give it a try during sales. But its not the PERFECT game in this state, maybe DECENT but not GOOD
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Swag and Sorcery is repetitive and shallow, with slow progression and lackluster gameplay. It quickly becomes boring and tedious.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, the game is decent — a solid 6 out of 10. However, it's frustrating how close it came to being great. If the developers had added just one simple feature — AUTOMATIC REPEAT of the adventure — this could’ve easily been an 8/10. Without that one magical button, about 80% of the gameplay becomes repetitive manual clicking, which turns what could be a smooth idle/loop experience into a chore. It's a small QoL feature that would drastically improve the flow and enjoyment of the game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello Friends, Today I will write about the game SWAG and Sorcery. This is a faux idle click type of game. It is not really a idle click game as it is more like a fake one. In this respect, this game is more like a micromanagement game with lots of grinding to do in it. To tell you how much grinding is involved, I personally beat the game and finished the storyline, but the game is endless and the player can keep playing if they wish. Many of the achievements are not possible until after…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →20 hours of numbers must get bigger clicker fun wrapped in a $2 purchase. Fun game with little to no replayability or end game content. Still worth the buy , when on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →after playing 14 hours of this game I can say this. I HATE THIS GAME! I felt the urge to punch something everytime i played it. But I had to finish the story because I made a deal to myself that I would finish games I bought. So GOODBYE SWAG & SORCERY stay in my library and never be touched again!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely unfinished. In end you'll need ingridients from monsters which just not added....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →although it's got only 54% positive reviews for me it's a good and enjoyable game. Just make sure it's your type of game. Also don't buy it full price, you can almost always find it 75-80% off
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a good time playing this game, but it feels more like an idle game in theory rather than in practice. Unfortunately, you can't truly idle in this game as you have to keep clicking back into fights. Overall, it's not a bad game if you're into this genre, but I personally found it quite repetitive. It requires constant clicking just to make minimal progress, and not having a second monitor made it even more tedious to play. However, I must admit that I enjoyed the story and the overall…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice idea, graphics and gameplay loop that were destroyed by the lack of effort. The game is fun for an hour or two, but later it's dragged down by the underdeveloped mechanics. A lot of them feel like there were thrown into with the promise of being developed further in the future (like spell system, where you can only do level one versions of almost each spell or the fashion contests). For that reason it feels more like an early build than finished product. The humour completely did not work…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like an gacha game with no microtransactions. We are waiting soo long for nothing. Everything has a cooldown for what purpose? And it is not an afk game too. So, you should look at the screen and just wait for the cooldowns. And yeh, its obviously boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game, in it's current state feels unfinished. Items removed, yet still kept in and obtainable through quests feels lazy. Small consistency problems, such as "titanium" not having "ore" in it's name, even though the other's do, sudden crops for long names instead of a better way to show that it continues on. Secondly, the library's spells having a roman numeral 1, means that at some point, they wanted them to get upgraded, which is not in the game, adding more to it's unfinished feeling. A…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's basically an idle game, but everything requires a manual input anyway.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Repetitive and Grindy. I should have stopped playing 6 hours ago, but i wanted to persevere through the "campaig" to see if anything changed. It did not. It also was an extremely unsatisfying ending. Not worth the time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Press button, wait, press again, wait, press again, almost no progress, no humor real grindy, but not in a fun way, no real game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bundle worthy best for TV/coffee breaks, so grind is less noticeable, not AFK friendly unfortunately, tier III items are never needed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100%-ed it just to be done with the game gonna be completely honest, only bothered with the game with cheating in money it is a botomless pit of grind without, with a lack of the kind of quality of life features that you would expect. The game doesn't really have a story ending? That or I broke the game sequencing catastrophically by restarting the game so that I could turn up the audio before the cutscene play so I can hear it. Anyway, game had a lot of bones of something great and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its basically a mobile game clicker. Not much content in it. Silly outfits tend to be the strongest and its not balanced at all. The crit damage boosting items are by far the best items in the game and nothing else even comes close. I spent 8 hours in it and got to Endless mode (the end of the game). The end was also corny as hell. Honestly, I don't think I have played a worse game on Steam that actually ran... and I still had 4 crashes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks great, plays rubbish. Ignore the pretty pixel art, the gameplay within is monotonous and repetitive. I waited for the fun to kick in but it never arrived.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bunch of issues that could have solved by simple qol implementation. I didn't get too far however, my hours is just mostly due to it being open and not doing anything. >adding automation to lessen the grind aspect of the game. >remove death mechanic. why even add this punishment. >adding a % value as to when they use potions
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring and grindy game. You play the same mini game over and over again, but it's not actually a mini game, you have very little to no control over what your characters do, there are no consequences to failing the mini game other than wasted time and in fact the only thing you need to win this game is time and a high resistance to boredom. Purcahse at your own peril.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Swag and Sorcery is one of those games that immediately wins you over with charm before revealing the strange, contradictory nature at its core. On the surface it looks like a whimsical fantasy management-sim where adventurers trot off to gather loot while a quirky village grows under your supervision. Its pixel-art world is vibrant and expressive, full of animated personality, and its tone leans hard into slapstick humor, self-awareness, and light satire. That playfulness creates a welcoming…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game would be more fun if you could level up from expeditions, not just from gold in the training field.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very pretty to look at. It wants to be an idle game in mechanics but you have to click to resend your teams on explorations every 30 sec, making it a chore to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely avoid. This game is... genuinely boring as hell. Arguably, the most boring game that I have ever played. It's a constant grind but not even an engaging grind. Just mindlessly pressing "replay", make a couple potions, "replay", "replay", "replay", make potions, "replay", "replay", "replay", "replay", make potions, "replay", "replay", "replay", "replay", make potions, "replay", "replay", "replay", "replay", make potions, "replay", "replay", "replay", "replay", make potions, "replay",…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is quite boring, the game loop is not very interesting and it is quite small but tries to drag things out. The passive gameplays and timers is not quite at the level of a idle game so in the end it is just a slow and rather boring hero management game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lazy Bear doing what they know: fun, cute graphics built with great ideas for game design all implemented in a way that comes so close to enjoyable yet falls painfully short. This is just another of their titles which has all the makings of a really good little game but they struggle still in the execution department. Buy on sale if you must but I honestly wouldn't bother at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool Idea, but seems under cooked. Last update was 4 years ago, so i doubt it will be getting any further development.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cant really recommend playing the game the main gameplay feels like a mobile idle game but instead of being able to idle you have to start all the tasks manually which makes the game really annoying to play the quests also just kinda suck and sometime they'll ask for the wrong amount of an item or even the wrong item, with some of them even asking or rewarding items that arent even in the game definitely not worth it unless heavily discounted like sub $2 usd
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mid game. Really repetitive and non challenging. 17h and I got all achievments... most of the time I was clicking to start the run and watching something.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was fun for a bit, then gets really really grindy. I can see the interest but the development disappeared for it after 2020.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am in love with Lazy Bear games! So much so I went through the whole catalog and this was the last one I needed to play and I am glad it was the last one. This is so far the only title under Lazy Bears catalog I would say you could skip and not miss a thing. The Costume Contest seamed very random and you could waste a lot of coin trying to bride the Judge's. I recommend not doing so unless you are shooting for a mission goal that requires it, and I would of loved to be able to set the mission…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Thoughts I'm really enjoying this game! When I first found it, I was on the fence in terms of optimism. I've seen silly-looking games end up being kind of annoying and not as funny as the writers thought it would be. This one, I actually do think the gimmick landed. While the cutscenes can be a bit slow-paced (a 2x speed option might be nice, in case you don't want to skip them entirely), the writing is genuinely silly and clever more often than not. There have been many times where a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While game has nice pixelated graphic and probably good concept, it (just) doesn't work :D
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actual playtime is 17 hours, for some reason it took a long time to idle the Steam cards. Anyway, I have a love/hate relationship with this game. I love, love, love the concept. The pixel art is amazing. The humor is very witty. There's a lot to like here. But... there's a lot to dislike, too. This game can't decide if it wants to be an idle game or one that requires active engagement. It just needs small pushes to go either way but it's refusal to commit is what hurts it most. If it had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was boring and bad but somehow i felt compelled to 100% it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, its just a idle game but the idle becomes to much work. while the work is not fun. so you play while wasting time on a game which moves way to slowly forward. PASS
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Î hate to say this, but the game is too dull. It is not a bad game, but not great either ... In the end, I can't recommend it. It drags on, especially when the mid-to-end game is just boring. Also, no automation ....
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was really fun for a bit, but it quickly became tedious. Great concept, poorly implemented. The game is just endless grind, if that's your thing then by all mean get it, otherwise skip.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It takes a long time to progress in the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is lackluster repetitive, non idler and automation, LEVELING up just through gold is dumb af. Game could have so much potential. I can't recomend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So the game isn't 'bad' but it isn't 'good' either. The gameplay loop is basic and some QOL improvements are desperately needed. it's very short. I have 100% achievements within 17 hours and I was playing badly. If this is on sale for about a fiver, go ahead. its a fun timesink. Otherwise... there's better games for this price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While starting out as fun, the game quickly becomes a grindfest with no strategy going into it, with barely any gameplay besides repeatedly pressing the button to repeat expiditions. The fashion contests, which are the one unique and interesting aspect of the game fall flat. Simply matching your clothing-colour to the current trend all but guarantees the win, with no consideration of "style" or unique look. It also requires interacting with an extremely basic crafting experience, that does…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is as straightforward as it can get. Kill monsters, craft weapons, repeat. I find the stats gacha and equipment combinations enjoyable. It gets very grindy at the end but that's fine by me. I just wish there was an easier setting to repeat the area. Overall still would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're not fond of games that are hardcore in grinding, you will not like this game at all. After the first dungeon, you will start to feel that the game is dragging. After the second and third dungeon, you will feel more dragging as the grind gets more tedious. Still a chill game though, if you just want to have a game on the side to relax or divert your attention for a few minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can go from upgrading your town to slaying monsters to participating in fashion shows. Can't say I've ever played a game that let you do that before. Then again, before Graveyard Keeper I had never played a game that let you manage and run a cemetery. These developers sure know how to inject uniqueness into their games. To be fair, the gameplay loop can get a little repetitive and at times feel too "slow" from a progression standpoint. But since I'm such a loot goblin that part didn't…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Price is a joke, buy only on big sale. Game had potential but there's shallow mechanics, lot of bugs, lots of grind, poorly balanced, crappy UI. More like students midterm project. Without big expectations for 1$ it's ok.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved Graveyard keeper so was hoping for something amazing but other than the sense of humor is this a pretty run of the mill AFK game that I'd expect to get for free in the App Store.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's like the devs set out to build a 5-story house, ran out of money or passion or guidance along the way, decided to knock out a floor and demolish the top layer to make a weird 3-story house that has squeaky windows and it leaks from floor to floor. Brutal if you don't know what you're doing, decent if you figure out how to specialize and build up stats to craft better gear, certainly not worth the time and effort unless you happen to be a dumb completionist like me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As desktop game that you keep open at all times to keep managing? Mid. As a mobile game that it should have been? Let it do offline work and it is a charming experience with funny moments.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks Great, Unbalanced Execution Swag and Sorcery starts out so very, very promising, but quickly turns into a frustrating grindfest. It takes too long to collect enough resources and gold for most things. It starts great, with a lovely little cutscene involving an eccentric king and a missing item that he sends heroes to go retrieve. You then have a good tutorial quest system walking you through the basics. Heroes have to be hired via gold at the guild. Then, you drag their portraits…
