Ten years later a friend of mine invited me to play SupCom1 with his friends and said it was better than SupCom2. I didnt believe him, until I tried SupCom1 and its just on a different level. Never thought I would find a game where I can go oops all artillery and enjoy the never ending sound of explosions. If you like RTSs checkout Supreme Commander 2.

Nevertheless, old is gold in my opinion, and I love it. Highly recommend the OG Supreme commanders (Supreme commander and SC: Forged Alliance) for a more in-depth experiences as Supreme Commander 2 is a highly 'condensed' version of what this games series has to offer. But still well worth your money, so give it a shot.

The game is solid fun, although the hard AI is ridiculously overpowered and unbalance its still crazy entertaining and cinematic all out warfare RTS in the genre. I love it for what it is.

The maps are small, the scale is smaller, and Supreme Commander's innovative economy has been removed and replaced with the generic resource system for RTS's. It's like they took all the most generic parts of an RTS, and did them badly.

In the first games, your units would bump into each other, and when you gave them orders to move or attack, there would be a very long hesitation before they would do anything. Those problems don't exist in this game. So vastly better programming in this game. That said, I still love both games and they are both worth having in your collection if you like RTS games.

They got the balance right and less economic management means more focus on battles. You can load up build orders and have them repeat out of any building you like and you can set up routes to monitor. Lots of ways you can customize the game to your liking like turning off all air units, or all long range artillery. It's more basic than the original and I think thats a good thing. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with SC2…

Its one major difference (which many consider a weakness but can be seen as a strength) over SC 1/FA is the smaller scale battles, meaning that if the main thing keeping you from enjoying the original SC was the overwhelming nature of the game, that is less of an issue for this one.

Supcom Forged Alliance had more units, better balance, but was MUCH, MUCH harder. Would recommend that if you're gonna play Supreme Commander. When I purchased my computer, I wanted to see if they sold the complete game on PC. I was very excited to find out they did. I was not disappointed, the gameplay is exactly as I remember it. Than Supreme Commander is a great franchise. I played the 1st one long ago with my father, so I may have some nostalgia blinders on.

The positive thing that I enjoy is that you can play this game online with a normal internet speed and high ping. I hope they release a third version of this game. The offline part is also very fun so that you can play offline for hours.
