There is ONLY farming and idle selling standing behind the counter waiting for the slow NPCs to buy everything, that's it. Literally that's it. I only continued playing to completion because I cannot refund the game as I sadly backed it on kickstarter for $50 alpha access (the game was originally advertised as $24.99 but changed 2 weeks ago) and because I kept thinking "There has to be more, right?" I am an early…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to love this game. I am a farming, cozy gamer girl lover. But this game is boring. That is with me stating the obvious - repetitive tasks are boring when you can't cycle through them. I ABSOLUTELY love that farming games allow my brain to shut off, but this game made me want to pull my hair out. And seeing the developers in the discussion page say they are not only NOT changing this game, but they want to KEEP it as is because it gives the Harvest Moon feel. Guess what? Harvest Moon…

If you like the demo and don't mind that there is nothing more to do then that. Then you will enjoy the game but if you're looking for anything more this game isn't for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are expecting the next Stardew Valley like game, this game is not for you. It has no fishing, no mining, no cooking, no good friendship building, no seasons, no events, only farming and taking care of farm animals. It's meant to be a relaxing little farming sim, but it didn't feel relaxing. I'm probably not the designated audience, it feels more like it's either meant for kids or for less demanding people. I was so excited for this game but I was quickly bored and it is a whole lot of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was a backer for the Kickstarter campaign for this game, but as cute as it is, there really is not much to it. It feels very repetitive, in that you run a shop selling the same old stuff, negotiating the prices and trying to convince the buyers to make currency in order to complete a task. Essentially all you need to complete a 'task' is to give the currency you earn from selling your veggies to it and it's done. There really is no challenge here. Apart from that it's just a farming game but…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love farming sims, life sims, animal raising sims. I had such high hopes for this game - I played demo, thought it was cute, the graphics are great. For me, however, it's too simple. The storyline is cute but it's not something that keeps me wanting to immediately play it as soon as I get home from work. The only reason why I do not recommend it is because if you're anything like me and you've enjoyed similar games like Stardew, Coral Island, Luma Island, Sun Haven and others like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FEELINGS ON BACKING WITH KICKSTARTER: Cute, but after backing on Kickstarter for $40, I feel like I was ripped off. If I could refund it I would. The fact that the game is now $16 is an insult, in my opinion (yes we got a couple of skins to compensate, but not $24 extra worth). It feels like there should be a bit more to it for that price. If you're only paying $16 and only want to farm and, maybe, sell some items, this is for you. If you want to do anything more, don't bother. If it wasn't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had this title on my wishlist for a long time, so when the opportunity came, I didn't hesitate... and I was very disappointed, the whole plot is basically presented in cinematics at the start, quest progress can be overcome by digging wood, stones and weeds. Romances with elements of different genders, practically without cutscenes. It is cozy as they say but in a mindless way. In addition, there is nothing to discover, only hit the achievements and forget, but for no more than 1/3 of the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a long review in mind, but this game is not worth that effort. Play Recettear, or Rune Factory 4 Special, or Stardew Valley, or hell anything else. This game has LESS content that most mobile games despite being compared to them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🐮 Sugardew Island Review 🌽 Sugardew Island is a simple, peaceful, and utterly cosy farming game. True to its tagline, "Your cosy farm shop", you’ll plant crops, care for adorable farm animals, and sell your harvest or complete tasks for friendly villagers. It’s a relaxing loop that never feels overwhelming, making it perfect for unwinding after a long day. The animals are absolutely charming—so colourful and full of personality! The art style is lovely, and the night-time ambience is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This should be a mobile game at best. I was a backer and I am so disappointed in this so called game. It is way over priced and lack luster. if your haven't bought it..... JUST DON'T
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's the thing.... This game is perfect for someone with a bit of the 'tism looking for a simple grind game that they can play to disassociate from the world while watching Golden Girls. If you're looking for a lot of different features, or in-depth story telling, this isn't for you. I absolutely love this game, but I love it because it's not loaded with millions of options, hundreds of quests, or anxiety inducing TIMED tasks. It's simple, and beautifully mind numbing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's cute but boring. There's really no story and all you do is farm crops and resell them the entire game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a repetitive simple game. I asked for a refund because I was bored after 2 hours. Days are the same but with higher goals to achieve. You can just try the demo its the same as the game over and over again. Some bugs are really frustrating because you have to start the day again (customers cannot go to the register so you have to skip the shop for the day, the animal produces disappeared before you could take it). The game is cute and may be fun for a kid but it is too expensive for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor story and progression, there isn't enough to the game to make the time worth putting into to the farm.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First Off: I did, generally, enjoy the time I've put in thus far. BUT basically, the Demo shows you everything the game has to offer... I really thought they had a great framework for what they had when I first played the Demo, thought it was a very good start to build from...but then they basically didn't build anything more. It is a very cute, VERY simple farming sim with a splash of shop keeper to sort of fill out the story elements. There's basically no decorating or customization, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm very disappointed with this game. It's boring as hell. I played the demo and thought it had potential, so I wasted my money buying it. The game is just about growing crops, selling the crops in the shop to unlock some upgrades and that's it, there's no fishing, cooking, nothing. The only interaction with the animals is petting them. It's frustrating. Also, the energy runs out in a moment, you have to be constantly eating bars (and crafting them) since one won't even cut down two trees. In…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I backed this game because i had high hopes for it. But, it feels like a terrible demo. Basic phone games but this to shame.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok first and formost yet again a game with no keymapping ability wtf getting tired of this trend with devs. secondly has some QOL issues like so quick item swap between chest, store , ect. near non existant char customisation which is a big issue for some folk with these types of games. i personaly didnt find issue with the targeting aspect of this game like others did. but i do find issue with teh item selction aspect i think should be reversed q an e should select tool bar not item
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played 1 hour. after 1 hour I want refund! This game is a bad mix of stradew valley and moonlighter. If you haven't played these games play this game later play others and see the difference. If you played these games do not buy it or play it. you will be disappointed. Pros: +None I can tell Cons: - no map. no inventory, no character screen etc. - controls are bad. you fight with it. it is not precise. we have mouse and we dont use it. why? - you are too close to the game. it should be a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I joined the Kickstarter with a lot of hope for the game to become something special but in the end it is just a cheap attempt at a farming game. This has been the most disappointing Kickstarter pledge I've made and all we got was a wake up, tend crops, sell in a shop where NPCs aren't sure if they want to buy them, burn your energy doing mindless stuff, then sleep and repeat. Progression feels pointless and the shop system is a failure since it seems more RNG on which method you should use…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the farming and livestock raising in the game. However, this is nothing more than those two elements. It's a quick game to finish and there isn't much of a story. I recommend this to people who haven't played a game like this as a gateway game to the genre. I would not recommend it to people looking for mining, adventuring, crafting and a strong story with many characters in addition to farming and livestock. Get this on discount if you can to make it worth your time and what you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am honestly so disappointed in this game. I backed it on Kickstarter knowing it was going to be a shorter, more chill farming sim. Play the demo. That's the game. Nothing else in the full version. It had such potential. Control bugs, a typo in the first freaking cutscene, very few NPCs. Having the animal islands be actual islands and not a tiny zone that takes 3 seconds to run through would have made the game feel more expansive. I do really like the shop sim and the lack of clock (time…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looked more fun in the pics. the island is very small and the lore kind of doesnt add up. humans fled the island from thorns yet theres a whole farm and shop with a trader already there who gives you the house and farm. not mucvh depth at all. camera is static and the blue blocks telling you where your tools can be used is intrusive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1/10. The whole game feels empty and like a demo. The characters that come into the shop will literally say "I already have milk at home" with the milk in their hands from your shop and expect a discount? The main character design is awful- you have a pot belly and the arms are awkward. Running animation is awkward. The map feels empty and small. TBH this feels like a terrible Harvest Moon rip off. No amount of fixes could honestly change my opinion. The lettuce seeds are called S A L A D…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks cute but that's about as good as it gets. It's lacking in game play, story, and dialouge. Really disappointed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I find this game to be cute and cozy. It brings me back to playing harvest moon : back to nature and please give this a chance before you just side with the reviews. I don't mind the grind and I am used to the here and there with items. Truly enjoying it so far and it brings back good memories of old fashioned farming sims what was gather and get money to buy items than repeat. I don't know if people were expecting stardew valley type of game play but this overall itched a scratch in gaming I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This cute little farming sim is exactly as advertised. No stakes, no pressure, simple mechanics, and adorable graphics. Please do NOT buy this game expecting it to be something it's not. If you go into Sugardew Island with the expectation that it's going to have an in-depth story with fleshed out character arcs and immersive gameplay, then you are going to be disappointed. This is a calming, quiet game with repetitive gameplay loops and a 'turn your brain off and enjoy' attitude. IMO, the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a delightful and well-crafted cozy farming game. It's got all the staples of the genre, in a smooth and stress-free design. I think it achieves exactly what it wants to be, and is a calm, enjoyable time. My only warning would be this: There is no friction or challenge. No seasons pass, no sick animals, no time limits, no hard choices, nothing that would cause any sort of difficulty at all. In that regard, it's closer to Power Washing Simulator than to Harvest Moon. It's a relaxing,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was a Kickstarter for this game and unfortunately am pretty disappointed in the final product. This game was pretty hyped up and I expected it to be much deeper in both story and gameplay. Definitely not the game I was expecting and sadly not a game I would recommend. I had access to the game early as a result of the kickstarter and played through before it was even released. It's shallow, it's short and gets repetitive quickly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's talk about it- This game has so much potential and has a big heart behind it but it lacks in many places in game play and mechanics! I wouldn't recommend it as it is! 1/10 needs a lot of polishing!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you think you're getting a full farming sim like Stardew Valley you're reading articles from people that aren't the devs. The game is a basic farming sim with a shop sim element as well. Its mindless and great to play while watching TV. Its simple and cute and I knew what to expect going into it. Its exactly what I need for someone who finds games like Coral Island and Fields of Misteria way too overwhelming at the moment. Finished? No Steam Achievements? Grindy but not hard. Steam Deck?…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a lovely game. I play this outside of more intense games as a "wind down". It's a farming/gathering/pet the animals sim with *at last!* no day timer so you can literally walk away from your PC and not worry about your character fainting or losing energy. It's childish, for sure, but in a charming way and I'm in love with it and will play it to finish. Recommend if you want to be able to watch movies and relax whilst playing with the freedom of no timer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While the game is beautiful, and the storyline is cute, the gameplay itself is shallow and extremely grindy/repetitive. I would not want to play through the whole game more than once
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty cute and fun. The gameplay loop is extremely monotone, in the way a game like Stardew Valley never is. The only thing you can do is wake up to farm. There's no NPCs to build dialogue with (though there are 4 dateable NPCs, but they don't really talk with you, just at you, and don't seem to have interesting dialogue), only 2 locations, and after playing 35 days there's no seasons either. It's a fun time killer for a couple hours but it's not more than that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this game to regular gamers because there just isn't enough to it. It might be a good option for a small child learning how video games work. Watch someone play the game online if you want an idea of what the gameplay is and see if there is enough to keep you interested. There isn't anything more to it. I just completed the game while watching tv. What there is to do is pretty polished though. Plays well on Steam Deck.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's sad that one of it's 'unique features' (the shop) is one of the most boring and frustrating features. It's fine at first, until you have 250 harmony to collect and you have to sit there doing nothing except occasionally right clicking. Also the 'haggle' mechanic where the customers with a ? over their head becomes irrelevant as you go the guaranteed option or risk not getting enough harmony and having to only have a few things in your shop the next night and pretty much wasting the day.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →honestly it was just kinda repetitive and boring. i do think it would be a fun game with some updates/QOL things added though!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played the demo and it was so fun... until the final product was release... the game is legit all you do in the demo. its short, boring, and nothing to do. you dont even get to design your house, barns, anything. everything is preset. the only thing you get to decide is where to dig.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the demo of this game before purchasing it and I quite enjoyed it. However, I thought I was missing out on more content due to only having access to the demo, which cuts you off at day 8. I do not regret this purchase, only because I bought it on sale and it is "ok" for what it is. But I will say, it's lacking. There's no life to the game. You can't really do much with the other available characters....it feels like there's not really anything to do and I've only played the game for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't a bad game by any means. I played the demo and loved it. The problem for me was that I was under the impression that there would be more to the full game when it released so I bought it. Unfortunately, the demo was literally all you did in the full game also. It's really cute and I like the different approach they made with restoring the island and the store you run, but it's a little too simple for me. When I played it a bit after I purchased the full game, it felt a little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sugardew Island: I completed the game in just three days, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it to anyone. The $14.99 I spent was not justified by the gameplay, which fell far short of my expectations after eagerly awaiting its release. Honestly, Sugardew Island feels like it’s not even worth $4.99. I won't delve into specifics about my disappointments—let's just say there were many—but I believe any genuine gamer will understand my reasons for leaving such a critical review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Expectations going into this game are important. I feel badly for the kickstarter backers who are disappointed, as I've definitely been there. There's a demo to help you see if this game is for you or not. I recommend trying it before you purchase. As a disabled person who has plenty of time to play a game, I can tell that this game is more along the vibe of scratching the old harvest moon game itch without a lot of the stress of a daytime clock. It is an intentionally small game that is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For starters, I wish Steam had an in-between rating option. If you're looking for a time sink or an easy achievement game, this works. However, it comes with issues. My #1 advice: wait for a sale. $17 isn't worth it. I accidentally left the game open for 25-28 hours, so ignore my Steam playtime a bit. The wording makes the game feel way more expansive than it actually is. "Unlock this new animal island" really just means another tiny section separated by black loading screens. You only…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought on discount, so I'm happy. It's cozy and wholesome but there is very little to do. You grow crops, you sell them, you basically rush through the advancement tree because of it and before you know it there is little else to do but max out for no other reason than to have done it. It's great for a couple evenings of mindless clicking in a beautiful setting. There are a couple beautiful scenes to enjoy, two. The map is very tiny, though. I'd say it is a wonderful game for young children and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very basic game. You farm, chop trees, break rocks and you sell crops. I liked it for the simplicity. You are trying to help restore the island and you get quests from each animal island. You complete the quests by selling crops to get Harmony. Once a quest is complete, you go back to the Harmony Tree to pick up another. Every time one quest is complete, you have the option to go to each animal's space and collect a reward in packs of seeds. I played the demo and then paid the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great the controls are not !!!!!!! you can start out using the game control which in itself is quiet enjoyable but it freezes way to often and reverts to pc control which is totally useless as it is way to time consuming and frustrating to actually try to enjoy the game =( maybe you should have considered releasing on xbox or playstation for this reason. As is atm it is extremely disheartening in its current state !! I have tried to give it a go by saving and re entering the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you're expecting in in depth game with lots to do, and a story and direction then it isn't for you. but if you want something to come home to after a soul crushing day of work to just turn your brain off and listen to some spooky stories while farming, then this is the game for you. i really like the sheep, and the sound effects of picking crops tickles a certain part of my brain for what it is, it's fine, just don't go into it expecting anything like other farming games and u wont be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This might be a good vertical slice in the day 1 of early access, but positioning it as a finished game, are you kidding me?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring. Not enough unique gameplay to keep me interested
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's not much to do and it's pretty repetitive. It's an okay game, but not at this price (especially in Brazil).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very basic and mindless and I like that. I can easily play it while listening to an audiobook. I don’t think it’s trying to do anything groundbreaking, it’s just mindless fun. If you are looking for a Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley type game, this is not it. I do recommend getting it on sale, the price is a bit high for the game play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I supported this on Kickstarter which is always a gamble. I paid over $20 for it.... Is this ok to just kind of putter around in for a minute without much thought? Yeah, sure. But the grind gets old real fast and there's not enough fun in the progression or much of anything else to do but just keep grinding. If you're looking for a fun farm sim, I would go elsewhere. If you're a Stardew fan and want something like that, you can get Fields of Mistria for less money and waaay more content even in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far, so great. This is a cute and fully cozy game. There's no combat, no punishment for running out of energy and no time-passage pressure. FR. Nothing attacks you. You don't pass out. Time is Day Phase, Shop Phase, and Night Phase. (The phases don't change if you don't trigger them. Day only ends when you start Shop. Shop only ends if you run out of inventory or if you intentionally choose to end it. Night only ends when you sleep.) If you like light-shop sims and farm/ranch sims, but not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s a charming, relatively short game that leaves a lovely impression. I especially enjoyed how the time mechanic was designed—using your shop to move time forward made the experience feel calm and natural instead of rushed. The story is simple, but still enjoyable, and I had a great time playing throughout. Definitely a cozy experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short. Very short and repetitive. Cute animation. Finished in 10 hours. Very disappointing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game in the evening, intending to maybe spend an hour playing before bed. Played six hours straight. Play is very easy. Story is simple, easy to pick up and put down as needed. Farming and shop mechanics are easy and fun. Overall good game. Fun and addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the demo then brought the game, its a low effort relaxing game it even tells you to sit back with a controller its literally asking you to sit back and chill the graphics are very cute, its very low effort compared to other games ive played in this genre, this aint no stardew valley or story of seasons so if your wanting that type of game you will be disappointed but it literally lets you play a demo so you can see for your self, will I play this alot? probably not its to chill for me…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Highly Recommend this game, its very relaxing and you can play at your own pace. I love how we can be on the game day for as long as we want to get done what we want, then when we need more energy or want to start the day over we simply sleep. The looks and feel to the game a great, no bugs that I have found. The Devs did say to people that this is a smaller game. I feel some of these reviews that are not in favor of the game did not read what the devs said. If you see this game and think Yes…
