positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly still a fun little 6 hour experience. Stubbs The Zombie is one of those little time capsules that make you realise just how old you are. I have fond memories of playing Stubbs way back in the mists of the past on the original Xbox. At the time it stood out for its novel approach to the usual horror conventions and its use of the Halo BLAM engine. I distinctly remembered a surprisingly moving narrative, epic set-pieces and a full range of bodily related abilities as well as a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The most realistic zombie simulator I know of! Jokes aside, it's a short game that doesn't take itself too seriously. It kind of straddles the line between having enough variation and feeling repetitive. Perhaps it's because the gameplay can feel a bit clunky at times and some levels feel too large for their own good, but there's enough dumb fun in the scenarios that it kept me wondering where the story's going next. I think you're guaranteed at least a few laughs and memorable moments out of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My biggest regret with Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is not playing it sooner. The number of times I noticed this game at Blockbuster in my younger years and never sprung for it is shameful. It is not a masterpiece, but well worth the $4.99 on sale (hell, I'd even pay full price, it holds up well). You'll like this if you're a fan of: Fun gameplay - Converting swaths of enemies into your zombie minions doesn't get old Humor - This game dropped in 2005 and some of the jokes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a complete waste of a really cool idea. Being the instigator of the zombie apocalypse as patient zero zombie is brilliant. The people you munch on become zombies themselves and you get a little zombie entourage who will attack living humans themselves. You also gain the ability a little ways in to possess a living person, so, for example, you can control a soldier with a gun to mow down other people with weapons so you can prevent getting surrounded by guns as Stubbs himself. There are…

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse (2005 Video Game) A moment where I revisit a game from my childhood as an adult and it's BETTER than I remember it. My exact kind of humor within a one of a kind video game experience, Stubbs is one of those games you gotta play at least once imo.

No microtransactions, no game passes, no cheaters, all fun. If you enjoyed Destroy All Humans, youll enjoy this. Take over the city as a zombie and spread your infection, eat all the brains, and find love. Its not a very long game(6.5-7 hrs if your chillin), so i would recommend getting on sale, but i got nothin but love for it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stubbs the Zombie, an original xbox classic that has finally been remastered and still shows very little age. Far from a remake, the game is fundamentally the same with a lot of quality of life changes (being able to turn off the absolutely dreadful green filter is a huge plus) and for its price, as well as fully functional, seamless split screen co-op, Stubbs very much has a pulse worth purchasing. A relic of its time in more than its retro-futuristic, Matt Groening-esque humour with some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite an enjoyable experience. For the age, it doesn't feel that jank at all and doesn't take itself too seriously. For 2 bucks it's worth it and you get tons of ways to kill humans other than just spreading the infection. I would totally buy a remaster that has full on hordes and advanced graphics for this. 10/10

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I understand I only have an Hour worth of gameplay at the time of writing this, but that doesn't add up to the years spent playing this. I remember being a Kid, in the 2000's, early 10's, there was a big Zombie fanbase/culture kind of thing going on? Everything from the latest Games, the Movies, the Books, whatever. This was one of them. And at the time, I dreamed of getting it, and when I finally did, It felt like a apex moment. There's still nothing quite like it. I believe it still holds…

unlabelledView post →This game is a blast from the past. From an era were ideas were just made into games rather then just following spread sheets data and trends. This may well be the only zombie game were you get to be the zombie rather then shoot them. Its a mix of comedy and gore but is a good experince. its has a co-op so you can play with a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This would have been a good game if the mini games wasn't present, or at the very least were optional, I gave up at the non-optional dance mini game. The main portion of the game was good, but the non-optional mini games killed the whole thing for me. Personal rating 3/10.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its one of those games that you either have played as a kid and love it for nostalgia or you dont like it at all. From the tailers and screenshots it gives you Destroy All Human vibes but the actual gameplay is very repetative. You invade different themed maps with the same 2-3 Humans repeated over and over. Minimal changes as you move on and minigames that just drag on way to long. Even on the 90%off sale i couldnt get into this game. It does have a very cool setting and some funny story…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is one of those titles whose identity is so strong that it remains instantly recognizable even years after its original release. Developed and published by Aspyr, the game embraces a mischievous premise rarely explored in action adventure design—you are not humanity’s reluctant savior, but the cause of the apocalypse itself. The story centers on Edward “Stubbs” Stubblefield, a traveling salesman murdered decades earlier who rises from the dead beneath…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yo, this game sucks Since seeing it around its release in 2005, I always thought it was an open-world type thing where you do zoinky things and build up hordes of zombies and get some AI-fighting-AI action. The latter two elements are there, but in extremely limited amounts, and it is certainly not to the extent I wanted, nor is what actually is there good enough to justify playing through at all. Gameplay By far the most disappointing aspect of the game, and I have the most to say about it.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a great deal of fun. Given that it's a black humor, I am not sure if it qualifies as horror. Thus I call it... ...REVERSE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! The game is one of a kind. Some Zombie Tycoon is anything but same. This is not PG-13 (in a great way!), it's 3rd person action, it's ludicrously violent, it's hilarious enough, it has some groovy music. For as short and kinda BS on highest difficulty (which is actually pretty doable) as it may be, I still had a blast in this game.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a delightful old reverse zombie shooter. Definitely shows it's age at certain points, and isn't a long game, but for being as old as it is, it's still very unique.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the greatest games of all time. Does it run perfectly? No, some zones have some bad frame rate issues, but my man i have a lot of hours in the xbox original and this version is playable at all. The world needs more Stubbs, fun light hearted dumb games like this are to rare today.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just completed the game - Very funny and silly game to play as the zombie, causing the massive outbreak to a city. Highly recommend if you like old-time jokes/humor and satire. Easy to play and control though at the very end it does get a little ridiculous fighting the enemies and some areas are a instant death. Works well on a Windows 11 PC - No major issues/glitches/bugs.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure when the fun supposed to start, because I have played this over 3 hours and i'm still not having fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fast-paced, hilarious, and lacking of all the lazy dev trappings of modern gaming. You won't see assets reused in unreasonable ways, environments do not outstay their welcome, and though you may occasionally roll your eyes at the cliche, you will find yourself occasionally surprised. The cliche is just a marinade for this game's own unique sense of humour. There is no filler, no grind, and you can tell every step along the way was lovingly made.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most underrated zombies games ever made. The only game that let's you play as a zombie and it's extremely unique. The 1950's aesthetic and setting works so well. Pair that with an amazing OST and this game is a true gem. Highly recommended 9/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →1) Unless it's core gameplay (Legacy of Kain, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without A Pulse), no eating sentient beings. 2) Unless there's a timer, the plot doesn't advance until everything's explored in the current map. 3) Never approach from the expected direction/altitude.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have fond memories of Stubbs the Zombie, let them stay fond memories.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs, wrinkles, and jank included, I still love this game as much as I did back in the day. If your rig can get through the tangled web of bugs and the like, which I ended up doing purely through luck and have been able to keep doing, Stubbs is an Uno Reverse card of the zombie genre: you're the shuffler there to cause mayhem. Whether you have a goal or not, the story never fully agrees. Bro sometimes acts like he's there to chase the girl, but sometimes he just. Goes somewhere, munches…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique as it gets playing as a zombie and infecting others is a blast. Dated humor from the era it was made which is pro for some and con for others 100% one of those game you would see someone playing in the background of a tv show or movie. Be warned the game can be buggy and some achievements while obtainable can but extremely buggy as while.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't want to give this game a bad review, this is such a joyful game made to be really fun. This port however is both pretty solid and a complete pile of ♥♥♥♥ though. I had it working without any issues for 2 hours, I stopped playing for a while and when I came back I can't get above 20fps, I changed nothing about my PC, this port is just funky. So I recommend the game itself, yeah, 50/50 on this port, get it when it's on sale, hopefully it works, it's a great time, if it doesn't…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →timeless classic if you were a fan back when it came out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short fun game where you get to be a zombie eating brains and kill all humans, took me just under 6hrs to beat it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really rare treat to get to play as the zombie! Has this old game feel with bit juvenile humour. Weird story that gets weirder the more you play. Not maybe the best game ever (for me) but it was enjoyable to play through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The cult classic that turned 20 this year. I enjoyed it's short duration and hope there will be a sequel. The game is old but still very enjoyable...it reminds me of the Playstation 2 era. Which is always a good thing. Give it a try you won't regret it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished my first play through in 10+ years, and I'm almost as in love with it as when I first played it. They largely removed the soundtrack, which i believe to have been a staple of the game, but otherwise an excellent classic! Would definitely recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels good to revisit a game I played when I was a kid as an adult only to discover it's better than I remembered, what an absolutely fun game! My exact kind of humor and a unique gameplay loop that came entirely from the dev team reusing alot of what they had made with Halo Combat Evolved and retooling it for a completely different kind of game. I feel everyone should play Stubbs at least once in their lives because even if they end up not vibing with it the way I do, they'll likely still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really liked the game and the absurdity of the story. Would I play it again? Not really. It really shows that his is an old game with the issues that I had with AI and the gameplay. But I really enjoyed most of the game :b
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To be honest Stubbs the Zombie is a game that has only recently came back to memory after I heard the song "My Boyfriend's Back" while at work. While I didn't remember much of the game from the little bit I saw from a friend playing growing up, the dancing minigame came out like a core memory. It has been very fun to play it, and its mostly very simple in most of its gameplay. There are moments however where it can get a bit tricky, but nothing bad enough to where it ruins the game itself.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The good: All the voice actors seem to have had fun recording their lines. The bad: Basically everything else. Game crashes a lot. Story is practically not existent. Gameplay becomes boring and repetitive after 20 minutes. Most parts of the game have no music playing and those parts that do have music are on like a 20 second loop. Level design is bland. Combat is a chore. Split-screen coop can't be played with 2 controllers, 1 player has to use a keyboard and mouse and the other can use a…
