Still Not Dead is yet another game I've bought with a 90% off coupon I've got from crafting and it was supposed to be yet another “just for cards” game. Just look at it. It's yet another Unity-based open world FPS that looks a lot like Minecraft. There's hell of a lot of such games in Steam now and most of them suck harder than a vacuum. Every active Steam user should've seen such game at least once and most of them are epic waste of everybody's time. That's what…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Procedurally generated OG-Doomalike with deliciously absurd and destructive weapons. It's regularly updated and dev is very open to feedback. An absolute steal at this price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok guys, it's just one person that made this game, so I'm going to consider that (also because I work in the industry and I know how hard it is). PROS: - Nice music. Not amazing, but nice. - Nice atmosphere - Simpe game with retro feelings CONS: - 10€ are definitely too much - Supershort. Almost finished the game in the first run, I was 5th level on 6. Finished after 30 minutes. - No reasons to play again once you beat the game. - Levels are all the same place, with little variations -…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still not Dead is a Rogue-Like Outside-Crawler (can't say “Dungeon-Crawler” since every Area is Outside) influenced by Doom. At First, for me the Game was very Enjoyable. Albeit very short (6 “Levels”) you get rewarded with a Skull ( Which is very similar with “Clutches” in other Games like Hammerwatch for example ) that make the Game more Difficult the more Skulls you Unlock. Once you “Beat” the Game, (if you can even call it beaten) all you could do is Achievement Hunting, which i enjoy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →better than i expected, but i only paid $0.50, but worth more than that imho. Pretty fun, fairly diffcult, you wont be spending 100, or 3000 hours on it. But it's still nice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is looking like it's on the right path towards being something cool. As it is now I like the gameplay, it's very fun. The music is absolutely amazing and the art style is fantastic retro inspired awesomeness. The game is obviously not finished yet but what is here is fun to play. I wish there was a bit more here, and I assume in time it will come. I'd like to see a bit more enemy variety and more weapons or environments / stuctures. I didn't notice any leaderboards but that would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an interesting take on the rouge like spam we've been getting a lot of recently on Steam but other games do it better. The small time limit per floor is frustrating and doesn't add anything to the game. I'm not fond of the graphical style they went with. Combat is just kinda boring and the level designs are ugly. They do have and interesting perk and curse system.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still Not Dead is a minecraft-like FPS (but mostly just Unity asset flips). I got this in a bundle and my card idler bugged out and gave me 35 hours playtime, but if you've ever played any FPS in the last 20 years, the amount of "new" gameplay here is roughly 30 seconds. Effectively an arena survival shooter, you're stuck on what might as well be a procedurally generated map with sprites chasing you. Kill enough of them and then go to an exit to "progress". Bear in mind this game was…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got the ground work to be a good game, but the problem is the unlockables are pretty lacking and it gets pretty boring after about an hour or so. Also, it's not really stated in the description at all but the aimming is old school doom-like. As in, you can only look left and right. Currrently, from what I can tell. The game's weapons are locked to levels. Meaning, after hitting floor/level 4 or 5 you finally start to see an ak47, while on level 1 or 2 all you pretty much see for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I like it but reluctantly I have to leave a negative review on this one. It's fun, there are lots of weapons, enemies, perks, and curses in this game. The runs feel different one from another. Gunplay is good and environments are simple but neat. Yet I have several problems with it. 1. Enemies chase and/or attack you from behind all the time. They have no idle sounds of any sort either, just a barely audible alert sound that plays once. I disabled music completely and I still…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good in concept, and the buff/debuff system is nice, but this feels kinda like an early access game. I liked it, but not enough to spend much time with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh, where to start with 'Still Not Dead'? I love this game. I really do. So much in fact that I've had 3 consecutive lucid dreams about it in the weeks since I started playing it. It's straight up haunting me to where I'm seeing and feeling myself playing it in my sleep. I play 100s of games and this is the first one I've seen vividly in my dreams. Make of that what you will! Anyway...first, lets go over some of what makes this game unique, fun and worth purchasing. 1.) Non-stop & fast-paced…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice and well made, still being updated, bretty gud first person shooter. In short, it's like Wolf3D but randomly generated and with more stuff happening. There's a bit of mouse lag which makes aiming at things hard sometimes, it might just be my PC, but I'd suggest adding a way to disable VSync (unless it's already disabled in which case it's probably my fault). Or if you're using Input.GetAxis (I think that's the name) then use Input.GetAxisRaw instead for looking, as it isn't smoothed. But…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/5UhTkQ75fNE Nice game of classic appearance, in which we can find a great variety of monsters and zombies, besides many complements (weapons, potions and abilities) for our character, that will make things much easier. A fantastic game, in which we will spend hours of fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: (longer version below) Feels like it still needs more polish, which I doubt it'll receive. Repetitive with not much replayability but still giving you enough content to make it worthwhile on sale, but the achievements do appear to be grind-oriented. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brilliant, shame a game like this doesn't have more attention in my opinion. ;-; It's a little rough around the edges. E.G. Buying items can be a little finicky. But, I have had a smile on my face from start to finish playing this game and look forward to putting in a lot more hours. :3
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you loved older games like Doom and Quake, this is definitely up there, however of course, I'm growing exceedingly tired of the "it's indy so i'm only springing for 1988 graphics of atari quality" bandwagon. I mean it's all gotten really obvious and quite transparent. Retro is one thing, lazyiness and excuses is another. This game is great, the graphics are horrible. same goes for most of these good idea but we'll just do atari graphics, call it pixel and retro, and never have to improve…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game's okay, but there's some bug that makes it unplayable. Maybe from the developer, maybe from Unity, but I haven't noticed it in other Unity games: Sometimes while playing, most noticeable when turning, the game loses 1-2 frames, and then I'm looking in a whole new direction. Maybe 180°, maybe 90°, maybe none at all, but in an action FPS it's killer. Especially with this game's bland graphics that make it easy to confuse 1 direction with another.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lots of weapons to have fun with. If you loved Heavy Bullets and STRAFE, I think you'll love it. You'll need to strategize your path, manage your ressources, live with the curses and git gud. 24hrs after release, it is obvious that the dev love his project, is active and will make it only better! Careful though: There is no vertical aim and will NEVER BE (Don't you ever dare to ask the dev hahaha) But, as he says... the game is built around this idea.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access review - Take some 90's DOOM, throw in Rogue-like elements, and voila! That is "Still Not Dead" in a nutshell. ( brief video of me doing not-so-good here ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QKdFFnqf9s The pixels are nice, if you played the Pre-GZ doom era, you know the drill, you cant look up or down, you dont need to - there's a perk/curse system that you choose each level - if you took a perk this level, next level you are only given curses tp pick from. Or you can forgoe…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here are my first impressions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDo8y2K9cFc Truly a fantastic game, I really enjoyed this one. The developer knows what it takes to make a gradually intensifying classic FPS with a modern take on it. Especially if you loved older games like Doom and Quake, this is definitely up there. Pick it up when you can! I highly recommend it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another Jim Sterling fanatic here. After seeing him to play this game I finally decided to give it a go and I must say that it was well worth it. The player is thrown into Doom-like environment where they must search for food, gold, weapons, items and ammo while fighting against hordes of monsters. Not only that but you only have about two minutes before Error Sans Death starts chasing you. The exits won't open until you've killed a set amount of enemies so you'll better plan your actions…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, sadly not developed or updated anymore. I love the fact that you can break literally all scenery with enough force. Currently 2 achievements are broken, although I have developed fix for them (available in my guides).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat little upgrade and downgrade system, really satisfying gunplay and a subtle undercurrent of inventory juggling anxiety and that awesome freakin' soundtrack ticks all the right boxes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this game. Graphics became dull at the second run. Also the gameplay with the repetitive music
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to post a negative review because the game is unplayable without a working key rebind function. It has no ingame remap keys menu and the one in the unity launcher is broken.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The map is f%%king disgusting and tedious

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still Not Dead is a very solid experience, especially factoring in the price. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQmyXKz9JQ0 Plenty of indie developers try to make retro style games. They can be less time consuming and more straight forward to create in general. The problem with many of them is that retro games often carry over the shortcomings of their era of video games. The early first person shooter era of games like DOOM, Wolfenstein and Duke Nukem are well crafted games in terms of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This early access game is already in a very solid state thanks to the tried and true gameplay of older shooters like the original Doom, as well as a conscientious and compelling game design. The controls can feel awkward at first, for instance with the recoil physics and the lack of vertical aiming, but these constraints quickly start to feel natural and end up complimenting the franctic arcady gunplay and enemy design. A real old-shcool adrenaline inducer, complete with an amazing…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty good game even if its not my type.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is shaping up to be something great. Definitely one of the few Early Access games I could recommend getting. It's only 5 dollars, come on and get it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a fun little game. Love the art style. The music also gives the game a sense of urgency which i think is great. Lookin forward to the future deveolpment of the game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →STILL NOT DEAD Minecraft meets old school bit style FPS, the enemy's are hard and relentless even in the first stage. The goal is to kill a certain amount of enemies on each stage, once achieved a door will open to proceed further, the enemies and time limit keeps gets harder as you keep going. Weapons and power ups feel strong, very fun to use but it does cost money to pick up. I had fun with this title, interesting concept but overall still something you would pick up for less then full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my go-to game for quick play that's still addicting and fulfilling even after 16 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Isn't really much going for this at all - the music is poor, graphics aren't that good even for a retro shooter and it all gets a bit tedious
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is good controller issues fixed. with the exception of a bug or something that makes your player move backward on their own the game is relatively polished
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not bad for 3 euro.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent game for those looking for a serious challenge. Definitely worth the price.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly before last update the game was kinda ♥♥♥♥, but now it's kinda cool and dare I say... fun? Needs more gore though. Also, OP, you inspire me to make my own game, if you can do this, I can do this too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saw Jim Sterling play this game and decided to buy it. It is a fun little game with a lot of potential. I like the weapon selection, the blessing/curse mechanic, and the soundtrack (although a little repetitive right now). The death chase in the end of each stage is also a nice idea (reminds me of Descent somehow). Looking forward to future updates and eventually the full game, which hopefully will have more content and variation. Some sort of narrative would not be bad either.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saw this game showcased on Jim Sterling's YT channel. Glad I bought it becase it's fun as hell! When it comes to the blessings and curses, there's a lot more you could do but all in all it's a great game. And it's powered by Unity. This game is one of few that really showcase the good side of Unity.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun retro fps rougelike. Awesome soundtrack & the oldschool sound effects are pretty good too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun! Could use more content (lacking a little on blessings and curses) , but it's an awesome game to play with a podcast or something running in the background and I really want to see more updates for this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Procedurally generated simple maps, tons of weapons and enemies. The blessing / curse system is interesting. Personally it does not bother me that much but fyi for others - it still says "Early Access Upate 9" in game but not on store page - is it an early access game now or not? (Guess that was never fixed even though I found it reported in reviews and discussion posts from 2020.) Has a horrbile mouse sensitivity bug. Besides that, I had a couple of hours of fun and taking the price into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It really feels like an Early Access game. It needs more work. I have a couple issues with the gameplay loop. 1- You are against the clock and I'm down with that concept. But there is no timer displayed anywhere. Yet, you have a kill counter to unlock the exit? A clock would be more useful IMHO, especially since a curse can reduce the time and there is no way to keep track. At least, you can outpace Death once it appears, so it is not too catastrophic. 2- Because you're in a race against…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for the first runs, but after that it gets boring, especially as the achievements are very dull. Could've easily been made more fun by adding achievements for each skull (change of game, like "all enemies spawn from stage 1" etc., modificators). This way I had fun for 20 minutes, and then got bored. Not recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The undead are beings in mythology, legend, or fiction that are deceased but appear to be alive. Most commonly the term refers to corporeal forms of formerly-alive humans, such as mummies, vampires, and zombies, who have been reanimated by supernatural means, technology, or disease. It's cheap, play it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This, is a very fun game that I think should be developed more and has potential on a broad scale. The way this game works is like, you are in a FPS, you got a revolver and a lotta different type of bad guys around. You get to choose a select buff or de-buff depending upon the level. There is simple and sweet music at the end of which death comes and you gotta run. There are things marked on the map which can lead to exit/guns/ammo/other stuff. The cons are like, the gun doesn't necessarily…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →map is big, enemies are poorly rng scattered around. you can spend most of your time looking around for something to fight. its not really worth the time. gun feel is not interesting. enemies just either follow you around or stand still. its raw. too raw dev will spend more time responding to reviews than actually fixing the game that they never finished properly. i was thinking of having it in my library, getting a refund, a dev like which isnt happy by a sale is one that doesnt deserve any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little run and gun with cool art style.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A hidden gem of a game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its a good balanced fun roguelike but the developer's description is a little misleading when he said the gunplay is like doom its not even close
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game on a whim after getting a coupon for it from leveling up a game badge trading card. I love roguelites and FPS. I was drawn to the graphics and art style and gameplay description. There are two areas where I feel this game falls short: -Unless it was just a bug with my system, it realllllly bothered me that the enemies have no sound cues unless they're shooting at you. There are melee enemies that don't make a sound and can sneak up on you really easily. You won't know…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kind of a weird mix of rogue-like and old-school shooter. The generated levels will sometimes mess up your run, which doesn't feel great. This happens in a lot of rogue-likes but in some cases with Still Not Dead, you get such a poor layout that it seems cheap - especially early on when you're leaning on the minimap a little too much to figure out where items are located. It's not a forgiving game but it's fairly short to finish a run. The blessings/curses you get at the beginning of each round…
