The graphics recall the NES era, and the game intentionally uses a sharply limited color palette – blue, green, red, and white – to further reinforce the retro feeling. Most of the levels consist of four unmoving screens, with each quarter of the level starting you back over at the beginning of it, while a timer runs in the background to measure how quickly you perform. But the graphics belie a pretty solidly constructed…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime-san: ~~~~~~~~ San was sliming away happily in a lush garden for his morning slime as he does every single day. As he was sliming from stem to stem, the ground suddenly started shaking! From the corner of his eye, he distinctly identified a worm form, honing in on him with a wide open mouth as fast as ever! Well, you guessed it! He was gobbled up! No time to waste, he needs to get out of this worm pronto before being digested! This is not what Slime-san was expecting for his daily…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts out great, but falls off immensely in later levels. The controls of this game are simply not precise enough for some of the later required precision movements, like going around pillars or dashing accurately onto small blocks. It is kind of a shame, because I personally rather like the art style and there is some effort and love put into the game. It is pretty long too, with a large amount of levels - but some of those could have been revised or cut short to remove unnecessary…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Even though I got the game for free, it was mainly to record my experience with it. After over half a hour and most of the first world, this game is acutally really fun to play through, showing difficulty to the point where you WANT to continue. Collecting the apples makes it even harder and allows it to have more replayability after completing the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent start for a game, but really needs some work. But there's a *lot* of glitches. The menu broke and hardlocked the game (twice), the bouncy flying creatures pushed me into a wall a few times, and the backgrounds you can choose are cut off by the inner overlay. I really didn't like the water physics, and the time limits felt too restrictive (both acid and trophy). Another small issue is the pacing; levels go from fast paced platforming action to waiting on a platform for 2 minutes. Also,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hello friends, Today I will revie the game Slime-San: Superslime Edition. This game is basically a very hard platforming game with some time restraints on each level. As the character tries to get thru each level, the "timer" that comes up are the digestive juices of the creature the slime character got swallowed by. This results in many deaths happening when the player is trying to get thru each area fast. There are also hidden areas the player can find on certain levels. There are also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime-San is Super Meat Boy reborn with a lot more content, clocking in at around 200 levels, not even counting bonus levels, minigames, speedruns, challenges and collectibels. Slime-San is ginourmous and if you like the music from the store page and can live with the unique art style, any person into platformers with perfectly spot on controls will be in paradise for dozens over dozens of hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →really i love this soundtrack, its just like an old snes or genesis song, they did a great work creating this effect the controls are really stable and when u die its really because u mess it up and not the game its an enjoyable game! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJQP3F15yeQ
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a good game that is sort of ruined by one incredibly obnoxious feature that, to my complete astonishment no one online is talking about: This game runs in 3x4. The same aspect ratio as Japanese shmups like Ikaruga or DodonPachi or old arcade games like Donkey Kong or Dig Dug. In other words, taking an older 4x3 monitor and turn it on it's side is the only way to make all of the gameplay content fit on the screen. If your monitor isn't turned sideways, there's a border that surrounds…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dashing actually speeds up the game instead of your character. Why??? This means that it can actually disrupt the timing of certain levels. Hitting the corner at the wrong spot catapults you off in random directions. The stomach acid gimick doesn't add anything meaningful to the gameplay, especially when it is in near every level. The worst parts are when you are forced to wait a good ten seconds at the start of the level for the acid to fill up in order to complete it. if you die, you have to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't hate it completely, but I wouldn't recommend playing it under any circumstances, sadly. What I like: The controls generally feel tight and responsive: it's not floaty like a lot of bad platformers All of the moves have more depth to them than usual: just for example the dash speeds up time and you can jump in midair only under certain conditions (no generic double jump) It has a nice difficulty curve. It eases you into the gameplay for a good while, but does become hard soon enough.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime-San controller bindings?. Answered: It is the minus button ___ TLDR: What is the button mapping for resetting a level in Slime-San? (I have a valid reason for not being able to figure it out) ___ I know this might be an unlikely place to find an answer, but is there anyone here who owns the indie game Slime-San who can help me figure out a certain button binding? You see, I recently got the game on PC, and I'm playing with a controller. Annoyingly, the developers bound the retry/reset…
unlabelledView post →Great game. If you like platformers you will like it. BUT it's not like super meat boy. Seriously stop saying it's a clone because it's false.(all the jumps are smaller, not same mechanics except For the jumps and wall jumps LIKE MOST OF THE PLATFORMERS NOT LIKE SUPER MEAT BOY, and the art direction is not the same at all.) the devs make great work with this game.(And they make free updates wich are very good)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm really bummed because I really want to like this game but I swear these are the most unresponsive controls I've ever experienced in a platformer. I even tested my controller inputs which were fully responsive and tried another game and my controller works fine. It's like the game eats a quarter of my inputs. I'm not sure if the controls are just quirky or if I'm crazy but I really hope I can figure it out and get it sorted because I desperately want to like and continue playing! Edit:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime San isn't bad. You play as a slime swallowed by a creature. Due to this every level has stomach acid as a hazard, putting a timer on levels. You can slow down time, which allows you to pass through certain objects. You can dash, it's a dash. The platforming in itself doesn't feel bad though I do not enjoy it enough to keep playing. The graphics are fine. Not visually pleasing, but they're decent enough. My main issue is a bug that nobody else seems to experience, a bug that cuts off a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is incredibly good when it’s at its best. Sadly, the game is only at its best one third of the time. All the fun parts are incredibly well made quick and intense platforming. The bad two thirds of the game are made up of levels that require waiting or precision in a game which's strength lies in fast paced movement. The precision levels are especially bad since the controls disallows precision entirely. Another bad thing about the game is that each world has its own gimmick, the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I tried to like this game, I really did, but I was ultimately done in by the unresponsive controls. Vertical dash the FIRST time I ask Slime-san, not the third.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's see: -Is this game a platformer? Check. -Does it have tight controls? Check. -Does it have an amazing 8-bit soundtrack even Shovel Knight would be surprised? Check. -Does it have cute and very detailed pixel art? Check. . . . -Do I need to buy this even though I sucked at Super Meat Boy? ABSOLUTELY CHECK.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Goes on sale for >2$ and has some pretty nice puzzle platforming. Other reviews have mentioned it, but this is Super Meat Boy core, and well worth the price, considering the number of levels. Great game to just play for 10 minutes at a time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly great season. Actually had a good amount of time to watch new and catchup too. A bit heavy on romance, but so many variations that it didn’t feel too repetitive for me. Completed/almost-completed new releases: - **Oshi No Ko S2** - I think there’s another episode or so left in the season. Great season, lots of character development and overall plot movement too, although didn’t land quite as hard as S1 for me. 9/10 - **Makeine** - Surprise hit of the season for me. Really loved…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you've played Super Meat Boy or Celeste, I'd give Slime-San a shot - although it is not a clone of those games which is a good thing. I'm honestly surprised it isn't brought up more when discussing who's among the best indie platformers of all time. I think this is up there. Maybe it's the artstyle/direction that puts some people off but this game is really good and more platformer fans should play it! Try the demo, just do it!A special shout-out has to go to Fabraz for having a ton of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Platforming feels terrible. There is a ton of levels though, which is good. More of a Meh than a no, but steam doesn't have a neutral rating option
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →>< I didn't leave a review!? What's wrong with me !? This game is amazing, charming, challenging, fun, colorful, I could go on. If you are the type of person that is into games liek Super meat boy, then this will absolutley appeal to you . I like the quirky art style, the charm of all the characters- these devs did a real bang-up job on crafting a great game. Each level is broken up into sections, you need to quickly get through each stage in the section - and you're alwas being timed. There…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A frantic and fast-paced platformer with a really cool aesthetic and pulsing soundtrack. The main gimmick of sliding through walls and slowing down time keeps things interesting for a while. That said, the difficulty spikes hard and the precise twitch-controls can become exhausting rather than fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave this game a fair shot, played about 3h and 50 levels, and I can't say I am having fun. There are definitely some things the game does well: - cool pixel art - upbeat music On the other hand, I found myself frustrated by these aspects: - too much visual clutter. When you die you leave green trails and send green bits flying around. And sometimes enemies are just not visible enough - too many levels where the you can not start right away, because the first thing to do is to wait (could be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So much love was put into this game, and it reminds me of this game Wuppo — with a similar level of (dialogue) detail! However, it's maybe my fault for not looking close enough and conclude this game is aimed at speedrunners; e.g. the focus on time-trophies, a constant timer while playing, an extra countdown timer bar for the stomach acid (basically: the floor is lava from a certain moment in-game/level!). I'm used to it in a way, but I prefer to explore levels without pressure at first, after…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like super meat boy, then you should get this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime san is a full fledge platformer, that deserve its place amongst the top of the genre. You have a bunch of character with different platforming ability, a lots of level to complete, bosses, rush mode, collectible, its just complete as a game. All the option for the hardcore gamer, and easier character for the less hardcore one. If you are a fan of 2d platformer, just get this, its worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there's a game that exemplifies how different the indie marketplace is compared to several years ago, it's Slime-san. I firmly believe that if this game releases in 2014, it's proclaimed an instant classic and positioned in the 2D challenge platformer pantheon. It's not quite up there with the absolute best in the genre, but it isn't far away - for a game that appeared seemingly out of nowhere in a Humble Monthly, Slime-san is unbelievably polished and content-rich. Three free DLC updates…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay, kinda cute, but the controls are bad and it has bad reviews this is a satire, obviously other people's reviews don't influence my opinion
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime San was developed by Headup Games and released on April 7th of this year. the game is a fast paced platformer where you are a little slime that was eaten by a worm, you climb, jump, and morph your way through a variety of levels while avoiding the incoming waves of stomach acid that appear after a time limit. This game is a fast paced platformer and a platformer is only as good as its controls, and rest assured, these controls are stellar. The control scheme is tight and responsive with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolutely delightful platformer, I honestly can't recommend it enough. Gameplay is super fun, and there's a great pace to it as it steadily gets more and more difficult. It certainly is reminiscent of Super Meat Boy, but I think Slime-San is different enough to stand strong on it's own. There's an incredible amount of content here for what it is, with plenty of extra modes like Speedrunning or Boss Rush, plenty of ways to customize your game experience, plenty of diverse areas, unlockable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is weird this game has such a low completion rate. 2.1% for beating all the levels seems astronomically small. But then again, only 8.1% beat the first world, so it's a small percentage of a small percentage. This game does have a fast reload on death, which is nice. It is mechanically intense with the “extra” jump you get off walls and when walking off an edge. The soundtrack kicked ass and I had a bit of fun with it. However, the game makes the cardinal sin of making you wait and go super…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"We have over 150 levels!" "We have Speedrun, Boss rush, and NG+ Modes!" "We have a Level Editor!" Nothing about this game is charming. Nothing about this game stands out. You are not going to remember a single thing about this game. You deserve better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun, fast-paced, slimy, medium difficulty
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Slime-san is one of the best platformers I have ever played, and I genuinely can not recommend it enough! It is completely full to the brim with content! You have 100 regular stages, remixed and harder versions for a total of 200 stages. Add the DLC, and you get about 100 more on top of that. For good measure, you also have a bunch of fun mini-games. The game features an all-star cast of guest artists for the amazing soundtrack, such as Meganeko, Kubbi, FantomenK, Kommisar, tiasu, and…

unlabelledView post →Simply one of the best hardcore platforming games of all-time. Pretty much every level contains 4 stages that are one screen large and each stage contains one fruit that are difficult to gather (think Celeste). This collection has a TON of content... the original game has 100 levels and the two sequels have 30 to 50, and it also contains 10 bonus levels for this collection only. Not only that, but each game has NG+ as well. The controls are sharp and vary between the different unlockable…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally coming back to this after many years, and it's an absolute banger. Nice style, good music, good gameplay.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underrated and very addictive gem. I bought it because I loved Demon Turf and I dont regret it at all, it's a fantastic game. It's a lot closer to super meat boy or celeste, if you liked those games you likely will like this game also.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Controls are very inconsistent (could be my controller or ingame settings, idk) and the bosses has so much waiting. Still enjoy the game overall it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is such a fantastic platformer, you need to play this if you're a fan of the genre, the Dev's have done a wonderful job with this. Play it, you'll see just how good and finely tuned it is. Wonderful game, worth everyone's time and genuinely deserves more reviews!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had a lot of fun with this game. Some sections were very difficult but if you like games with a retro art style and difficult platformers like Super Meat Boy or Celeste I think you might enjoy this. Charming and funny
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick Description: -Slime-San is a challenging precision platformer w/ an art style that will bring you back to the the good old days of Game Boy Color. Slime-San has charm jumping off the screen, offers over 300 unique levels, and has an easier learning curve than more traditional games in this genre. *Update: -I initially completed the 100 levels in the main story and wrote my review after about 12 hrs. -I completed the Game+ Mode of another 100 levels about a year later which took…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played the entire campaign despite the recording shown. What a fun gem for such a low price. A lengthy, entertaining and progressively challenging main campaign got me hyped for more. And there's much more. The main story is already a bunch of hours, then factor in New Game +, all the DLC content, the level editor and more. No wonder people are clocking in at over 50 hours. Get it. Or at least the demo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent times await you in Slime-san. If you like high-paced platforming, this game will be a treat! It features super fun mechanics, very smart level design, great learning curve, and and an equally great difficulty curve that'll always keep things interesting as you get more and more skilled throughout the whopping 100 levels in this game! The game has a very simplistic approach with the art style (which, on the surface may intrigue or detract you from this game), but it telegraphs…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My new favorite die&retry platformer. Sadly, this game doesn't encounter the same success than Super Meat Boy (that I like too). And honestly I prefer Slime-san! Maybe it's because the graphics are too retro for many people. Personally I like it. Asides that, everything is nearly perfect. In Super Meat Boy, you can only jump, here there are more options: -you can dash in four directions -you can phase. It means that when you active it, you can go through everything in green on the screen…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →https://youtu.be/OjL2r1X23fU Avoid being digested while navigating well crafted levels with that will keep players on their feet, well, slimes don't have feet but yeah... The low color pixel art works well as a way to highlight important elements of the level while still haven enough detail to give the visuals joyful character.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a super-meatboy clone with a few issues. The retro pixel graphics distract from the game (but it does run properly in 4K, fullscreen). The colour scheme is lacking even for a pixel effort. Controls are a bit janky so you will often miss your target. Also, you can't select your controllers, so if you have peripherals other than a gamepad plugged in (HOTAS for example) the game is unplayable. You shouldn't have to re-arrange the plugs in your PC just to play a low effort pixel…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, deserves a Positive review. Charming, difficult and fair, and lovely the look at. If you like challenging platformers you should give this a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fantastic with a creative aesthetic, smooth controls, a smooth difficulty curve, and tons of content! The soundtrack is also outstanding and upbeat. 8.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lets get the least impressive aspects out of the way first. The controls are not quite as tight as Super Meat Boy, fittingly, it is slicker and slimy. With the great music selection they have, they really should be using it more liberally. And onto the good stuff. (In my experience so far) This is a Worthy Succesor to Super Meat Boy. The controls are slick enough that one gets used to them quickly, but it introduces new methods to play so that it doesn't become stale. There is great…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazingly fun with controller. Really tight controls that allow for Meat Boy-esque speedrnning and zipping through levels. Surprising depth outside of levels (a town to explore and many unlockables). I'm having a blast with it. Lovely artstyle and a unique personality. It has what looks like an expansive campaign, and if yo're a completionist like me, well, I'm 4 hours in on world 1.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am quite enjoying this game, as others have mentioned it does have a strong Super Meat Boy feel and that is great. This game has great controls which are fluid and responsive. The appealing asthetic which easily relays critical information. And plenty of deaths to come as you tackle the vast variety of stages.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I feel like playing super meat boy again, this time with some time limits and little extras like dashing. Greatg game, 100% recomended for those who like hard platformers (super meat boy, VVVVV, etc)
