This is a very disappointing game, can't say it's THAT bad, you decide: +The one and only plus - battle mechanics - 1st time I've seen it in indiegala minigame made by the same person I guess, and what can I say - there it was WAY better - to move around you click left MB, to dash and kill you click right MB - now about the problems of the game -You can't dash while moving - you have to release LMB if you want to click RMB - like, what's the problem? When a lot of enemies around you even the…

Great Little Game! Great Game Play, Nice Soundtrack ! This is a great little retro inspired slasher, with some minor dark souls inspired elements. But dont go expecting a 2D dark souls, this is not that. Really great to pick up and play for a short time and then come back to it again and again. Really nice progression system. There really isn't anything to dislike here. And for 3 bucks. Hell yeah pick this up.

I am hesitant in giving Slash or Die a thumb's up. It has a mildly interesting play mechanic, and is only three bucks. Fair enough. Slash or Die is a coffee-break game and reminds me in some aspects of Devil Daggers with permanent stat upgrades. And believe me, 10 minutes goes a long way - this is something you play very briefly and pick it up later. Just like Devil Daggers, of course. The game only uses the right and left mouse button (yeah, I know, no controller support). Left mouse button…

Wow such a sweet little game completely slayed by its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controls. Mouse only, hold mouse button to move, can attack while moving. If this had keyboard movement at least it would be great, feels like it is made for controller. Sorry to have to refund but you should take note of the many complaints around this issue.

This game is fun for a bit, to boot up and mess around with here and there. The pixel graphics and music are enjoyable, and the upgrade system (more health, stamina, speed, bleed damage, etc...) adds some variety to the gameplay. The game is a bit simplistic (which I don't mind) but the reason I don't recommend it is the limited mouse controls are annoyingly / unreliably implemented. Gameplay consists of you clicking / holding LMB to move your character around the screen toward the cursor as…

So you slash enemies and they die. If you fail to slash an enemy, and enemy slashes you instead, you die. Slash or Die. But seriously, it's a fun casual action-rpg. Check it out.

Easy to pick up and a little masterpiece for simplicity. Roguelike game with ingame points to spent for upgrades, think about more health, stamina (which is used to attack), speed, damage and certain skills (depending on class). Left mouse button to move, right mouse button to attack. Three different classes of which two have to be unlocked, so far I played the warrior and berserker and both feel very different to play, while still being equally balanced. Good to play for a while and to…

The problem with this game is that it has too little depth and too much grind to level up your character and beat the game (unless you're just really good I guess). At first it seems enjoyable but there is just way too much grinding to level up your character when the entire game is just 1 mouse button for movement and the other mouse button for attack, which doesn't make it worth playing in my opinion. In addition to that there isn't a point to upgrading more than 1 character as it takes way…

Not bad at all. It's a bit slow in the beginning, and could use some polish (it feels clunkier than it probably should, and sometimes the slash doesn't hit enemies it should), but for this price, it's a very good, very simple little game. The bosses and later enemies add some strategy into the game, and it doesn't feel like a mindless clickfest. No real, major downsides like other people have already said. It succeeds well in what it does.

After playing this game for only a few minutes, I can tell you xactly what is wrong and right with it. Graphics, music, upgrades, design, variety = All present, all decent. The problem is the controls. They're tricky at best and frustrating and unresponsive at worst, and in a game where that's your SOLE mechanic, it simply can't be overlooked. It doesn't mattre how good the other aspects are if the driving game mechanic is undeerperforming or even broken. Th mouse control makes this game…

Fun and simple action clicker. Great game to kill short periods of time, though as of now I'm pretty addicted to it. Gain souls/experience to level up your characters. Put stats in health, stamina (number of attacks/cool-down), speed, and damage, also misc. stuff to upgrade as well. Beat bosses to unlock new classes with their own interesting and unique attacks. I'd recommend this game at full price ($2.99), but if you find it on sale don't pass it up.

I like the concept of the game, but there are too many frustrating points that makes me not recommend this game. First of all, it is a simple game, you use only mouse to control (left for movement and right for attack), what is kinda intuitive. But to attack you need to release the other button, I mean, you can't attack while running. This issue has generated a lot of threads on Discussions page, as many players refers to it as a "mouse bug". But no! It's just a bad decision from the…

Very basic game with little conceptual thoughts put into it. Getting started is rather difficult and by the time you get the hang of it, you already got completely bored. The "second wind" option costs way to much souls for what it does.

Pros: - pixel graphic style - classes design and choose - gameplay feeling Cons: - controlls: holding left mouse while moving and right click to attack gets painfull quickly (OSU! mouse only players can relate), also you need to release left mouse to perform attack (if not timed right you can stop moving to not attack = get hit), - killing = getting souls but: 1 Boss gives 50 souls, second boss 50 souls, third boss 50 souls, my point is why would I go further to beat harder enemies and…

Game Summary: This is a very apt title, as one of the better strategies is to wander the area, killing enemies as soon as they spawn, so they can't get any attacks off. Most enemies have a wind-up for their attack, as you have no shield or way to defend yourself, giving you a chance to dodge out of the way as needed. There are some exceptions, like those annoying ghouls who glow green whenever you draw near (which counts as their attack), but crowd control is a fundamental aspect of this…

There are plenty of cheap, retro styled, action oriented games in Steam. And you're probably wondering (like I was) whether this game falls into the "Devil Daggers" category or in the "Cash grab, better to avoid" category. In my opinion it falls firmly into the first category. It's a decent coffee break type of game that is best enjoyed in short bursts. The basic idea is that you survive wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies and you have to defeat a boss at the end of every level…

Slash or Die is a fast paced, action arcade, hack and slash that seems deceptively simple at first but, definitely has a level of skill mastery associated with it. The game features: + Increasingly difficult gameplay + Unlockable characters + Character progression through upgrades + Bosses Are just some of the key features of this game. Very 'pick up and play' but, also very punishing if you make a mistake. The trance inducing music, clean pixel animations, and the flow of successful combo…

It's a good game for the most part, but I don't recommend spending more than a dollar for it. Problems: You have to stop moving before you can attack. Sometimes you will get hit when you clearly were not hit (archers mostly). Sometimes you will get hit by ghosts DURING your dash which is complete BS b/c their is no warning. Very appealing retro aesthetic, pixelated graphics and a cool chiptune soundtrack with a mobile-like "I have five minutes to kill" gameplay concept and progression system. Englishsky translation of the little text present in-game is obviously done by non-native english speaker, somewhere from Eastern Europe. Not an issue. CONTROLS ARE ABOUT AS RESPONSIVE AS A DEAD HORSE. I refused to torture myself with sluggish, unresponsive click controls and I asked for a refund. Sorry bois.

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

I gotta say, I really like this game. You control one of three characters (warrior, berserker and mage, although you have to complete the first boss to unlock the berserker and the second and third to unlock the mage), each with different mechanics, stats and upgrades. Using just the mouse you can maneuver your hero and perform an attack, which costs mana, to kill enemies that keep spawning. The enemy diversity is good, each one with different attack types and harder enemies appear as you…

It sort of works as a game, it's fun for a short while but I personally found it to get boring pretty fast. Not quite enough variety. My biggest complaint aside from that is the fact that you have to move by holding down the left mouse button, which already sucks, and attack with the right, but if you are holding the LMB then you won't attack... because... Anyway, it's well made for what it is, I'd say it's worth a dollar.

With the core premise of shooting around bisecting Ghosts n' Goblins monsters, you'd think it'd be hard to make a mediocre game. You'd be wrong. First of all, enjoy reminding the game of your preferred language between English and Russian, as it won't remember what you told it last time. Then, Slash or Die continues to demonstrate its high-school level programming with the global tactic of "Enemies just come at you", providing a ludicrously un-fun startup phase of you being too slow to avoid…

If you are even slightly disabled, beware that this game is MOUSE ONLY. I unfortunately cannot play for more than 20 or 30 minutes before turning it off. -Grindy. Slash or Die is a Top Down Action game developed and published by Click Games that is largely inspired by the Souls series, but has its own vibe and style to it. The combat is stamina based, like Souls, and you even collect souls and use those as form of upgrading your character. You have three characters to unlock in this game. The game's biggest issue is the lack of attack variation from you, your attack is basically only a dash attack and that's about it. Sometimes the attack is unresponsive…

Too much grind. It's a game that pads it's playtime out with high difficulty and a ton of grinding to level your character to their intended functionality so that maybe you can actually beat the game. It's fine as a short "pass the time" kind of game, - if you like grinding. I mean you have to grind just to earn extra lives. Think of it like playing an old arcade game, say "Space Invaders" that you play over and over again until you score enough points to earn a extra life for the next time…

What a weird game. Not a fan of the action games like these but i am a fan of One Finger Death Punch and somehow this one strikes the same nerve as OFDP does. It is basically more than the sum of it's parts. Gameplay is simple: Left button to move and right to attack. Upgrades are permanent and based on collecting souls that some enemies drop. Grindy gameplay but very good for quick sessions when you got some spare time.

This could really use controller support. Having one joystick move and the other to aim my attack would severely reduce the headaches I get when trying to pay attention to both character and cursor placement. Also, the stamina bar should be above the character, checking the corner of the screen before I attack is rather tiresome and derails the action a bit. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable experience.

The bossess are very different from each other and you have to know their patterns to defeat them. The soundtrack is also very good.
