While the game looks good and has interesting combat, the story is all over the place with character look-a-likes popping up all over. At the mid point this game becomes an absolute slog and combat becomes a chore. You start spending more and more time managing the battle quest, armour and hex cards than actual fighting. Even the boss fights drag on with bosses having 3 health bars just to drag out and prolong the fights. You need to get the battle quests perfect because if you fail them you…

pretty decent semi/rpg card battler which definitly focuses on telling a story and world building there's a lot of dialogue, even fully voiced cutscenes lots of lore and worldbuilding which kinda makes the game standout compared to more mechanical focused card battlers the art style is (as you can see in the screenshots) is pretty nice and so is the OST the VO is kinda hit'n miss, but works and the fact that is even there is commendable, also there's quite a lot of it i'm not realy the…

Pros: - Runs like a dream. No crashes, stutters, or frame drops. - Devs are actively involved and responsive to feedback. - Well thought out rouge-lite deckbuilder with RPG elements. - Great world-building - there's a lot to dig into here and more will very likely be fleshed out as EA unfolds. - Fantastic art design and music. Some of these creature designs are something you'd expect find out of Barlowe's Inferno! Card design is beautiful. Events are totally unique, very well written, and…

This game first caught my eye last year, since then, I had been quite looking forward to it. After several release date pushbacks, due to the devs wanting to deliver a more polished experience; I have to say the game does really lack polish at this moment in time. The art style is gorgeous, but this isn't matched by the card art, and some of the texts and buttons throughout the game look and feel really low quality. This might not be a big deal for some, but for me it just gives off an air of…

It's Slay the Spire, but overly complicated and with bad UI. For example, there's no actual card text on cards, just art. If a card does 7 damage, why not print "7 damage" on the card? Instead it goes like this: Mouse hover a card > a popup window appears that shows 50% of the card text > then you have to right click the card to open a menu with the other 50% of the card text.

Artstyle is good, OST is good, price is fair, game is good. For an early access it's already pretty damn nice and looking like it will have a very promising future. -Edit: I finished the game, 27h from start to finish. Absolutely worth the price. Can't wait for new updates, gonna play it again just to do all the possible endings. Highly recommended :)

Pros: - The art style is great, - The music is amazing - The setting is dark and very lovecraftian and game machanics are good. - Instead of a single character you have a party of three - A lot of story like in a visual novel and also rpg elements. Cons: - some dialogues are without sound and music - some of the art is inconsistant - there are holes in the story and some parts don't make sense - the gameplay could be repetative I hope that the devs will add more content to the…

Its stand out rogue-lite (and i played all of them) with RPG elements that are put very well in generics, for early access game it has a lot of potential with huge talent tree a lot of cards and different type of items. Very good voice acting and cutscenes are something that we don't have in many card battlers but this game has it more that its needed for my taste (we just wanna play cards), story seems good so far. All in all solid 7/10 with a lot of potential, keep up the good work devs!…

I would refund the game if I could, I simply can not stand the childish writing and characters in this game. A minor annoyance in comparison to the bad writing, the not very subtle politically correct speech used throughout the game, like using humankind where the phrase mankind would linguistically more appropriate. Or in certain card phrases that specify a lover being gay, when in the card there was no need to specify the sex of the lover unless it was to virtue signal. This was also…

It's hard to tell if the game is any good due to the endless inane dialogue you have to sit through. For 30 minutes of gameplay, at least 20 minutes is spent watching the characters auto-talk. Over and over. About 90% of the dialogue needs to be cut just to get the pacing somewhere in normal range...

SH is deck-builder card game featuring three playable characters, each of whom have their own unique deck and each of whom will be fielded in every battle. As opposed to the ubiquitous roguelike/rougelite StS-clones which have saturated the market, SH is actually a full story-driven campaign played out over four acts. Battles are turn-based. By and large, a character will draw 5 cards and will have 2 energy to spend, with most cards costing 1 energy. In addition to playing cards, each…

A compelling dungeon-crawling deckbuilder game with a unique setting and art style. Great for sitting down and playing for 15-30 minutes or a handful of hours. The deckbuilding element is a lot of fun, lets you build strategies based on abilities and mechanics, and then adapting those to new cards you pick up in the dungeons. Love this game a lot!

Enjoying this a lot! As a fan of roguelites and deckbuilders, I often wish these kind of games had a bigger narrative element, and Shattered Heaven definitely delivers on this, making for a more rounded and compelling experience. The RPG elements also promise to add a lot of depth to the gameplay. All in all, whether you're looking for a fun card battler, endearing characters or beautiful artwork and music, you'll find it here!

As somebody that doesn't enjoy roguelikes where you start over each run and have to build up again via RNG - I found this game to be a breath of fresh air. The story mode allows you to play through a roughly 30 hour campaign, gaining strength, abilities and loot the entire time. The only thing that you build up on a "run" that goes away is your collection of additional "neutral" cards that you gather up along the way, and it's actually a good thing to get rid of these after every dungeon.…

As most comments have already mentioned, the game is definitely more focused on telling a story, but do not think the game play has been abandoned. The mechanics are more than interesting enough: Semi-permanent state of the hero decks (20 card deck built prior a dive, then edited during the dive itself) Items used outside of the dungeon and during battles Character improvement via skill tree A light character equipment option True to its Early Access state, the game is merely…

I've played 2 hours so far and it seems very promising. The characters moving during the "standard" talking session are a bit weird but overall the art style is very good, but the full fledged cutscenes are very good. This is a game where the animation during the battle are, thank goodness, fast and don't take ages to play, letting you focus directly on your next. A great touch. Critical hit animation and voices are very cool! Some description of dungeon effects are not entirely clear, like…

I really like this game. It's different from other deckbuilders, in that Shattered Heaven is a lot more story focused. You still have deckbuilding, meta-progression, dungeon exploration, battles, and random events. But I think if you set your expectations to that of a story driven game - like The Witcher - you really start to appreciate the atmosphere this game tries to build, with its art, music, setting and characters. What I like: - The deck building aspect and finding cards is fun and…

Overall really, really solid. Highly recommend. Core game play isn't revolutionary but it's consistently solid. What sets this game apart is the world building and narrative. They do a great job of show not tell when it comes to characters and world building. Story rich deck builder battler with some pretty interesting mechanics and a bangin' soundtrack. There's awesome sound design to all of the strikes and power-ups as well. Phenomenal soundtrack, great art with Persona-esque monster design, though the combats are somewhat challenging at parts, but the deckbuilding feels limited and simplified. There's a story but it seems convoluted at times and doesn't inspire me to do another playthrough to understand all perspectives via the different endings. Either way, the whole game is not as amazing as its music, but I think it's enjoyable enough at the right price.

This is probably one of those titles content creators would try and insist is a hidden gem. Sadly, the game has way too many issues. The most glaring of which is despite being a deck builder, there's little reason to stray from certain cards or builds and you'll find yourself relying on most of the same cards throughout the game. Worse, combat forces you to dilute your deck by drafting cards from a neutral or adaptive card pool, without the option to skip, with a number of cards being way worse…

That's too many buzzwords you need to put some of them back. Also, the core gameplay is a little monotonous, and a little bit incompletely explained. You won't know exactly how progression works or how the story branches until you're deep enough in that you've already made your mistakes (never leave a dungeon floor without having gotten all…
