I feel like I must be missing something. This has the exact same problems Regency Solitaire had, except in many ways it's worse. Ancient Enemy really does feel like it is getting closer to where these games should be, but basically Shadowhand is "roll dice until you win: the game", except it requires you to constantly click stuff to see if the dice rolled in your favor or not, so it's actually worse than that. Yahtzee has more viable strategy and meaningful interaction than you get here, for…

Entirely too luck based. Some hands you will not be able to complete even half a round, restart the same encounter and it could be even worse, or you get it done without breaking a sweat or using any abilities. Just too little thinking and too much luck of the draw. I prefer my games tending toward skill and not luck. But to each their own. If you like luck based games and gambling then you might well love this game. Just not for me.

I really loved Ancient Evil, a game by the same company, but this just felt incredibly frustrating in comparison. Far too RNG based. It is pure luck if you will get a card that will do nothing and the next card picked up by the AI will give them a 10 streak combo that utterly screws you and leaves you dead in the water. Sure you get tools to switch things around, but they are also often RNG based, so you just get in a loop of randomly hoping you will get that magic card that will give you the…

Just buy Regency Solitaire, this games duel aspect where you have to play solitaire against a bot, with a bunch of added modifiers and RNG, is absolute HELL. It'll literally have you yelling 'NO F***ING WAY' when the AI makes some 10+ card combo after you've been having to draw over and over. The only way to semi-enjoy this is on casual mode but then you're missing out on a huge aspect of the game. ____________________________ edit: over 100 hours in and i still can't recommend it. the more…

I played Shadowhand Solitaire first, not realizing this was the original game! While the story is the same for both games, I actually preferred this as an RPG and the game mechanics of this game to Shadowhand Solitaire. And it took me playing this version for me to realize Lady Cornelia is Lady Fleetwood from Regency Solitaire. So I love that this is a fun backstory for her!

TLDR: Fun but very limited and luck dependent. You wouldn't lose much if you stood away but if you are looking for something with a twist and have tried pretty much all the available cardbattlers and somehow missed this one, you may get it. It's a bundled game and available for very reasonable prices, goes often on sale too. If you are purely a solitaire player, I think this is a better option for you than most cardbattler players as this is more solitaire than a cardbattler. There is some good…

A really fun and challenging twist on a card-battler + solitaire + RPG mash-up. Much deeper than this dev's other game "Ancient Enemy". The story is a bit deeper and more developed, though don't expect a detailed quest-line or back-story. For a solitaire=based game, it's deeper than most. More RPG elements than most similar games- with a skill tree, a huge variety of weapons and gear to choose from. Like to min/max? It did look pretty solid so decided to give it a try. 20 hours later and all gold stars on normal difficulty can say it was quite good time passer. An enjoyable solitaire game, perfect in small doses. This is an ideal "coffee break" solitaire card game with deceptively simple rules. Long explanation: during play, on your turn, you draw a card, and can play any face-up card on the tableau which is adjacent to that number. The card played becomes your new "active" card and you can continue playing more cards as long as they are adjacent. Example, if you draw a 5, you might play a 4 or a 6 from the tableau. If you played a 6 then you…

Shadowhand may look like some kind of edgy competitor to Slay the Spire, but it's not. It's just a lame solitaire derived card matching game that seems to have been copied, reskinned + pasted onto Steam several times so the developers can get paid for several times for the same game. After all, game development is all about the money, not creating things of value for gamers. There's a few bells and whistles, like a faux inventory system that makes this look like an RPG (but it's far from it)…

This game is way WAY too RNG based, to the point that RPG elements become completely trivial. The amount of time it takes to play this game to completion is almost entirely based on the amount of time you WASTE pressing "reset hand" because you get a bad start. That, and whenever the AI cheats and constantly give card layouts that give your opponents 10x streaks. Avoid this game!

Great twist on one-up, one-down solitaire making it considerably more challenging than the typical games of this genre. Also a well-done storyline and details. The layouts seem more challenging than many card games, even though only about 25% are turn-based battles. It's the duels with the opponents which made this game really interesting for me, as there's a lot of strategizing involved with picking out your weapons, clothing, gear, and card playing abilities to best arm yourself against…

Interesting and challenging RPG/Solitaire game set in 18th century England with an attractive young female protagonist who becomes an outlaw to solve crimes. Excellent artwork, the cards remind me a lot of MTG in style and detail, but the gameplay is much simpler since it's just Solitaire. But it's not easy and actually quite challenging. Also has many items & cards to equip and attributes to set when leveling.

To be blunt--the game's elements do not support each other and make for a product that doesn't really satisfy either the Deckbuilding crowd or the Solitaire crowd, with minimal crossover appeal to either group. Regency Solitaire, by this dev, worked because it took card solitaire (Mahjongg style) and spiced it up with a few powerups and a light story. Purely casual fare, but a good timekill and pleasantly presented. Similar in many ways to 'Faerie Solitaire' (which I had to check to confirm it…

Just a restart simulator. That is all there is too it. Enemy goes first and gets a massive combo, restart. If the enemy refuses to play a card even though they are able, restart. The thing is perfects require Timed clears. So the enemy always stalling becomes so annoying. Wasting turns for you. And that forces you to restart. I hate this game so much. I do not know what compelled me to play it as long as i did.
