60 of 82 · most liked firstI have played all of the Samurai Warriors games to date and am a huge fan of the Warriors games. And I have to say this is the best Samurai Warriors and possibly the best Warriors game I have played. In Spirit of the Sanada they focus specifically on the Sanada Clan making their way through the Warring States Period. This game is much more story focused than previous installments, filled with tons of dialogue, characters and events. The main story took me around 35hrs to complete so it's not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →musou game fans, back in the day i loved Dynasty Warriors 5 and Samurai Warriors, i haven't played any of either series since but am in the mood to revisit, which games past those are worth playing?
unlabelledView post →Samurai Warriors 1 is a messy game with a rather bland cast, but the way they portray Nobunaga is so fun. Manages to be concise and memorable. For modern standards it might come across as too heavy-handed & edgy, but in 2004 it paired perfectly with stuff like the Hellsing anime & Evanescence lol
unlabelledView post →It's not even the first time Yasuke has been depicted in sengoku-era video games. It's not even the -second- time. I could understand folks missing Samurai Warriors 5 since not everyone's a Musou game lifer, but dude was in Nioh! Both Niohs!
unlabelledView post →Hidden Gem To start, let me preface by saying I was a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors 4 when I was a kid, and I've played a small bit of Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme This game has far exceeded my expectations, especially at the price I paid $20 + The combat is so action packed! Absolutely love it! Its pure hack & slash, but the battle system feels great. + Controls and combos are very easy to learn + There are hundreds of units on the screen at once, and you are able to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have a NVIDIA v-card - don't buy. The FPS is unbearable, and the problem hasn't been addressed for 2 years. I am a fan of the franchise and I am sure the game is good, but this is my point.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →by far the best samurai warriors game in the series, my only gripe is that there is no dubbing and no battle log so you need to look down at the screen to see what they are saying and if you miss it, thats that BONUS: Link to the Hidden costume DLCs : https://store.steampowered.com/app/595750/SAMURAI_WARRIORS_Spirit_of_Sanada__Exclusive_Costumes/?snr=1_5_1100__1100&utm_source=steamwidget Much love, Bubby
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally 100% completed this game.... ugh... If you'd asked me in the first 10 hours of playing, back then I probably would have recommended it... ... But then it started to drag on... and on... and on... and I found I wasn't even halfway through the game yet before I'd got completely sick of it. I'll put it this way: It is like a Samurai Warriors game... except ONLY about the Sanada family... and with hours of text blocks and cutscenes sandwiched inbetween every battle... and like…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: This is the best Musou game on Steam, wishlist it and buy it the next time it goes on sale (which, unironically, is about every 18 months) or get a physical copy for the PS4 for much cheaper. Long version: I own and have played a LOT of the following games: Dynasty Warriors 2-7, including every Empires and Xtreme Legends variant Samurai Warriors 1, 2 and 5 Warriors Orochi 1, 2, 3U (PS4) and 4 Hyrule Warriors + Age of Calamity Fire Emblem Warriors (Three Hopes comes out in a few…

unlabelledView post →Did they forget that Samurai Warriors is a thing and also a mainline game? Call me crazy, but Ancient Japan and Ancient China don't look all that similar.
unlabelledView post →This is the best Warriors/Musou game I've ever played. Not only does it have the improved Warriors combat system of the Samurai Warriors games, but it also has the most in-depth and engrossing story out of any Warriors game I've ever played. You follow the life of Yukimura Sanada and his never ending battle to protect his family and loved ones in a time of chaos in Japan (the Sengoku "Warring States" Period). This Warriors game is also incredibly unique for having multiple social hubs, side…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What the fuck why does Samurai Warriors 3 on the Wii have a crossover game mode with the Famicom game Murasame Castle Did Koei even make Murasame Castle??
unlabelledView post →Same old Samurai warriors, but with a much more satisfying storytelling, focusing on two generations of Sanada. (Focusing so much that Sekigahara is a "secondary battle"...)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yeah, I baited myself into another bad koei title. I insisted because I wanted to enjoy another sw game but now I can't even get my money back pros - ?? downs - ridiculous anime stuff everywhere - bad storytelling, I don't like using this word but dialogues are just cringe. - no ultra widescreen support - some designs are beyond bad, hitting the ridiculous landmark (looking at the 3 meter tall summo) I gotta stop doing this to myself. I hope one day they'll go back to SW1 design or torwards…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometime people can just lie in game interviews, there's nothing stopping you. "Samurai Warriors 3 can have 50 enemies on screen at once" No it can't. That's a Wii game that caps out at 20 enemies on screen
unlabelledView post →Pretty damn good. - The Good – - By far the best story out of any Warriors game. Because it’s focused on the Sanada clan, it is much more personal, and allows you to get attached to the 3 main Sanada officers. Characters have actual arcs to their story and every major figure that regularly shows up is developed with more care. The story is LONG. It starts with Masayuki’s first battle at Kawanakajima under Takeda Shingen (1561) and ends with Yukimura’s final battle and death during the Osaka…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you've tried a crossover game and bounced off it, give the mainlines/Empires games a shot!!! Origins especially changed my mind a lot, but DW8 Empires/Samurai Warriors 4 Empires are both absolutely goated Also try emulating Sengoku Basara 4 if you're a Combat Sicko, utterly singular experience

unlabelledView post →If you are a fan of Samurai Warriors or Dynasty Warriors, you will enjoy this game. I think the weapon's upgrading system is actually interesting. If you like to develop every warrior to maximum it will take about 500 hours. However This game is truely poor ported. As my pc this 16GB, i7 4770K and GTX780, the fps is always around 25~50. It is nothing about the graphic set up when your GPU is around the same level with mine. So for the pc gamers: If you just dont want to buy a play station…

It is a spin-off of Samurai Warriors 4 and their counterpart of famous Dynasty Warriors series. It was released on November 23 2016 to celebrate Sanada year anniversary and cooperate airing along with climax episode of the NHK TV taiga drama "Sanada Maru". Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada heavily focuses on history of Sanada Clan, and their roles in Sengoku War from since…

Bad port 40-60 Fps Max setting @1080p on GTX 1070. @max setting the graphic is very good. If you like warrior game you will love this.

unlabelledView post →certainly a very unique take on the standard Musou formula. I'm more surprised that KT isn't particularly going in this direction with their newer games (notably SW5) because i find this rather enjoyable...and annoyed that it didn't come any sooner, or that no one informed me that this has been ported to Steam (i found out by screwing around on the KT publisher page) now if only they would bring in SW4 and SW4 Empires into steam...still not sure what's stopping them from doing so, considering…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hands down the best Warriors game out there if you're into lore and story. It is unrivaled in its storytelling, dialogue, and character development, not to mention it still does combat/gameplay well too. I've played pretty much every Musou game and I wish more Musou games were like this gem. Only gripe I have is with the exploration battles, those are kind of lame. But you can speedrun them pretty easily.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, I must say that as someone that played SW4 (in consoles), I couldn't avoid thinking at first that a "spin-off" like this one would probably not be worth to buy at full price again, but I was actually surprised to find that was not the case after finally playing the game two years after it was released. If you know your history about the Sengoku period, or/and you've already played the previous SW games (although only SW3 and SW4 are focused in the storytelling), you'll probably…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very solid game. Very eductional. This game gives a deep insight to the Sanada clan's history. Compared to previous titles, this game is considerably harder and more intense during battles as you always need to accomplish various tasks within limited time. This is very challenging but also very fun. If your are not sure about buying this or not. Here're some of my opinions: -This is not a short series spin-off. The content of this game is huge. After 40 hours, I still haven't finished the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty decent game, overall enjoyed playing it. It has a good story to it and the characters are great. Sadly the down fall is there's only a couple of things you can only do in game and it is really not worth the price range. Really great game, but I would recommand getting this on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game. A great addition to the Samurai Warriors series focusing on, personally, one of my favorite clans, the Sanada. I have not had any performance issues with the game. It runs flawlessly, and it's quite challenging if you put it on the Hard Difficulty. This is a game that challenges you strategically, forcing you to switch between two different characters at times to complete objectives in different areas in the map. I love how detailed they go into the story, and the little touches…

unlabelledView post →D - Dynasty Warriors Origins Not just the graphics, I want it to play like Dynasty Warriors 5. Samurai Warriors 2 was a late PS2 game but it was ported to and shined on the Xbox 360, really hate that DW5 never got the same treatment. And since I hated DWO’s gameplay changes let’s bring it back!
unlabelledView post →I think I owe Samurai Warriors 1 an apology, that game was pretty bad to 100%, but it was bad by typical PS2-era Koei musou standards, it was still a fine enough game, and I imagine when not going for everything it's pretty good. Warriors All-Stars is so much worse.

unlabelledView post →I've played Samurai Warriors 4 and Samurai Warriors 5 to gauge my impression on the Spirit of Sanada and this game really surprised me in a couple of ways. No longer are battles just a one stage thing and the implementation of strategems gives you a sense of achievement when you do things right. The story is a bit long, mind you, and some of the dialogue a bit tedious to get through because of the lack of animations but regardless, it's a pretty good story for a Musou game. The combat is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REALLY good game, that's it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely loved this installment. It's similar to the other games, but different as it focuses on the Sanada clan. However, you can be all playable characters from the previous games. It's fun. It's shorter than the others, at least to 100 it is. I had alot of fun with this one and look forward to playing more of these games in the future,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I start the review on the game I want to talk about specs first. If you play this musou game, like other ones; do it with a controller. You CAN use SteamLink very successfully with this game, and it is also compatible with SteamDeck (yes, I tried it!) So it's fine for that, but yes, there are quirks with it being a PS4 port. Read the other reviews if you have spec questions, but it was fine on my NVIDIA 1070ti on 1920x1080 (forget about ultrawide here). This is the best musou game on…
