Rumble in the Bronx
Keong comes from Hong Kong to visit New York for his uncle's wedding. His uncle runs a market in the Bronx and Keong offers to help out while Uncle is on his honeymoon. During his stay in the Bronx, Keong befriends a neighbor kid and beats up some neighborhood thugs who cause problems at the market. One of those petty thugs in the local gang stumbles into a criminal situation way over his head. From TMDB

unlabelledView post →An incredible day at the pictures! Guignol shorts ripped, full of twist endings & horrible surprises, the highlight for me being "Suspense" (1913) with a legit great car chase Then exiting Rumble In The Bronx we overheard someone say "I just saw the best movie ever made" and maybe they're right
unlabelledView post →My Review of Rumble in the Bronx (1995). We remain in NYC for tonight's feature: [Rumble in the Bronx (1995)](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113326/)! This is the movie that introduced Jackie Chan to America, and launched him to super-stardom. I watched the New-Line Cinema English dub, which cuts some scenes and adds others. If I can find it I'd like to see the Hong Kong/International cut as well. My first Chan film was Rush Hour, released a few years later, and this feels very much like the…
unlabelledView post →well, but I've seen Rumble in the Bronx before and it rules. the movie very obviously being shot in Vancouver just doesn't bother me. so I'm bummed I didn't quite have enough energy for it, but feel very good about seeing Mohicans
unlabelledView post →"Rumble in the Bronx" is a classic NYC movie in which you can see the lush green mountains around the harbor, a very NYC thing that you totally don't see in Vancouver.
unlabelledView post →I don't think I'll ever see a martial arts scene in a movie that felt as cool as Jackie Chan fucking up a Wing Chun dummy in Rumble in the Bronx. That was my very first kung fu movie and I spent the next year in the backyard trying to learn how to do a backflip
unlabelledView post →Any '90s era Jackie Chan movie. I'm talking Rumble in the Bronx, Operation Condor, First Strike, or Super Cop. Just shut your brain off and enjoy the fun!
unlabelledView post →Tonights film. Yep watching Jackie Chans in Rumble in the Bronx. Just classic Jackie in all his glory lol #filmsky #rumbleinthebronx

unlabelledView post →Like in "Rumble in the Bronx" when THIS is supposed to be the view from the Bronx and NYC (film not even trying to hide the mountains of Vancouver)
unlabelledView post →Rumble in the Bronx probably isn’t even in the top ten Jackie Chan movies but for an American audience who had never seen a Hong Kong action movie before, it probably felt like seeing the stars for the first time
unlabelledView post →I think both Jet Li and Donnie Yen have superior martial arts choreography, but I do love Jackie's spectacular stunts. I also will always have a soft spot as Rumble In The Bronx is basically what got me into martial arts. A movie that I can actually say changed my life!
unlabelledView post →Jackie Chan straight up broke his foot about 2/3rds through shooting RUMBLE IN THE BRONX and just painted his walking cast to look like a boot and finished shooting the film that way
unlabelledView post →I remember that was a joke in Scott Pilgrim. Scott's on a film set in Toronto and gets thrown through a backdrop to reveal Toronto's skyline as a reference to that. I also remember the snow-topped mountains of New York City in the Jackie Chan movie Rumble in the Bronx (filmed in Vancouver).

unlabelledView post →I was showing my 14 year old the Jackie Chan movie “Rumble in the Bronx” tonight. I thought he’d be amazed at the way Jackie moved, or think the film was funny. Instead he was trying to figure out why the actors lips were not synchronized. I explained dubbing, and he promptly lost interest.

unlabelledView post →They used to do that a lot when showing handheld consoles in movies and TV shows.. another example off the top of my head is the Sega Game Gear in the Jackie Chan movie "Rumble in The Bronx"! 😅

A year or so before this track came out, I was invited to a showcase put on by a record company who were hyping Ash up as the next big thing. I thought they were sort of OK, but getting a bit ahead of themselves. The show was in a dingy, local rock pub, that was mismatched to the level of hype and the band's stage demeanour. I would have made a terrible A&R person for a record label, as they went on to indeed…

unlabelledView post →On the episode, I talk about why my favorite Jackie Chan films aren’t the Hollywood ones. They’re his earlier films, because of the better fight choreography and stunt work. My top three: 🥋 Drunken Master II 🚓 Police Story 3: Supercop 🏙️ Rumble in the Bronx What’s your favorite Jackie Chan film?

unlabelledView post →Relatedly: FUCK I love New Police Story. This movie never gets old for me. Much as I love the Rush Hour movies or Mr. Nice Guy or Rumble In The Bronx, this might be Chans greatest work. Just such a good thriller-noir-action film that isn't afraid to explore depression and failure before victory.

unlabelledView post →Yeah, there was also a distinction between Action Movie (Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Rambo) and Martial Art movie (Rumble in the Bronx, The One, Mortal Kombat) That's become a bit less of a distinction since the late 90s. One more thing the Matrix and the Wachowski's changed 😁
unlabelledView post →My intro to HK film (aside from USA Network on Weekends) was Rumble in the Bronx and Hard Boiled. After that, it was a mid-'90s tabletop RPG called Hong Kong Action Theatre!, the text of which assured me that Lam was Woo's equal, rather than a pretender to the throne. It was not wrong.
