60 of 187 · most liked firstI remember watching this game on youtube back when it was in alpha or beta or whatever. It seemed like an interesting promising game that was still in development. I thought it was interesting enough that I ended up buying it to support the development. I played the game for maybe 7 or so hours over the course of a few days trying to do various gimmicks and whatnot to destabilize towns and bring forth my win condition. After I had my fun I uninstalled the game and figured I'd play it again in…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one hurts. I was a great game, fairly "early on" into the development it had a fun, if unfinished progression. Like many reviews say its a similar but "opposite" style of game-play to rimworld. You pick one of 3 evil/god styles and go from there. About 2 years ago they completely reworked the progression and removed a bunch of features and now its just stale. Dev's completely abandoned it about a year ago from the time this review has been posted. It was fun, and awhile back I can say i…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"We know it has been a while since our last update. After the 1.1 update, our intention was to keep pushing out updates to address the issues raised by our players. Unfortunately the truth is that the sales of the game were impacted by our poor V1 launch, and we had to make a hard decision to secure funding and focus on our next game to keep the company afloat. I’m sure a lot of you are aware of the layoffs and company closures happening in the industry right now, and we’re trying our best not…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buyer Beware, AI Icons, dropped features, and abandoned development. This game was promising, with a great concept. The devs took feature after feature out, eventually slapping together a dry 1.0 version.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game just makes me sad man, it's such a promising concept, but because it came out of early access way too early, it completely flopped and we're likely never getting any new content for it again, decent for what it is, definitely get it on a sale though, it's pretty fun for a while, i just hope someone else refines this idea, or the devs eventually come back to it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not "finished", in a sense of the word. Some aspects of the game are waaay overscoped, while others are totally barebones and it's not really functional. The villagers have all these complex relationship and economy mechanics, which affect what you do hardly at all. The game is about bringing ruin to the village, supposedly, but the systems aren't very functional and the villagers are liable to bring ruin to themselves without you doing much of anything. Your abilities are sometimes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had a lot of potential; but now is abandon-ware. They stripped the game, hollowed it out and added AI images. Rushed a release just to try to squeeze out a few pennies out of the last buyers. Avoid all games by this publisher. Genuinely, refuse to buy their products. Although, not like their new typing game will go very far, lol.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was on a pretty good path, plenty of positive changes coming down the pipe line and a promising future. Then out of nowhere the game is suddenly released in 1.0 and not even close to a complete state. Yet another abandoned game to add to the pile. Might as well just avoid it unless its on sale for dirt cheap and you want an evening of being the bad guy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →half baked dead game abandoned by devs after replacing real art with ai for no reason.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a promising concept, charging money for abandonware is pretty sketch though
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandoned game. sad, it had promise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's rare to see a game so deliberately ruined by a developer. Feature after feature was REMOVED from the game for NO LOGICAL REASON whatsoever, leaving an empty, boring husk of a once-enjoyable game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't played this in a while. I didn't even realize until I went to see if it had received anymore updates that it had been abandoned. And that hurts. This game had so much potential. It was really good. Now I find that the game has had a ton of stuff added, some of which was completely unnecessary or even ruined some of the older aspects of the game. Ruinarch had a lot of potential. I was REALLY looking forward to its progress. If the Devs ever come back to it, I'll give it another…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not updated, barely finished. Dont buy it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As all other reviews say: the game's amusing for a couple hours, and then it goes downhill fast. This was an awesome idea of a "Reverse Rimworld where YOU are the Storyteller", be Randy Random! Except things needed more polish and more time in the oven before calling it a 1.0. It still feels largely some form of demo, with the actual cool features falling short of feeling complete, and no real campaign to give a feeling of progression or purpose. A big shame really, as this would've otherwise…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I pirated the beta and bought it when it fully released. There is more content in the beta
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned Game that had so much potential but now its not worth anyone's time
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They promised a bunch of stuff that never happened and it never really felt it ever left early access. Don't get this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dev said the 1.0 release was not an end to development then gave only one update (1.1) afterward, the game seems to have abandoned at this point. The last update was over a year ago so can't recommend the game as is. Dev heard the feedback and knew the game was still lacking, but hasn't given any news. The game had potential which is why I got it during EA so it is sad to see it end this way.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →abandon-ware, came out had one update and *poof*
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game got somehow worse as it got developed, run away.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is heartbreaking this game was abandoned to chase trends. This is an interesting, even if not unique, idea that I love but needs just a little more work for a complete experience that I could suggest at the asking price of twenty-five USD. At this moment I would classify this game as a ten to twelve USD price range. But to purchase under the burden of knowing it will not see any further development.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually liked this game. it was fun, and I enjoyed playing and scheming. Extremely disappointing to see the game abandoned, and the devs using ugly AI images that the game definitely did NOT need. DO NOT BUY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While enjoyable and largely 'finished', it's a shame the game has been left in this state - it has so much potential for story telling (Rimworld style) but most of that capacity is unrealized even after all this time. Still, it's a fun romp if you are psychopathic-minded and would enjoy ruining the lives of innocent villagers. Getting to 100% achievements was quite a slog (and then they added even more!).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was a good game. Abandoned and unfinished though. No signs it will get worked on again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfinished abandonware. Devs took the money and ran.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Liked the game but sadly it was abandoned. Buy this if you like the current gameplay loop but the limited content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →AI generated Icons. Honestly kind of a disappointment to find that after returning back to it. I thought the Imp was ugly because it was intended to be ugly but no its AI. Im trying to justify my negative review because i could tolerate alot of the crust of the game but it felt weird it was solely a sandbox and not a series of RTS esque missions. UI was also really weird.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Promissed tons of features. Never delivered. Rushed EA release. Don't buy this, don't waste your time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i backed this very early on in development and it had such promise, very disappointed to see the devs basically drop the project and release a terrible 1.0 for a game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had potential which it didn't really realise.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wish it was finished :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game had potential but sadly its abandoned.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game had a ton of potential, sad to see it left like this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Potential that was left to die unfortunately. Shallow game-play. A web of relationships and interactions that can take place. There is space for deep planning. Inducing kleptomania into a villager only to steal resources so a defence tower isn't built....only for that villager to go in a rat cave and die because the AI is big on masochism. That tower from earlier? It was never built cause the only person knowing how to build in a town got into a fight with another villager and banished from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had a great potential to become wonderful (maybe even the best) simulator of dark overlord that makes life of peaceful fantasy people miserable through slow corrupption, turning them into cultists, vampires, necromancers, etc. But, unfortunately game was abandoned in half-finished state: difference between overlord archetypes is laughable, each playthrough is the same and each mechanic is left without depth. Best example for me is making necromancers. Basically, only viable way to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Abandoned. Little content for what was promised.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had a great premise of essentially a "reverse Rimworld", being super in depth at a top down view, playing as an evil god doing evil things. But, the game got sort of left in an early access limbo, then suddenly pushed out in a rushed release that stripped some features and shattered the community. Hopefully somebody else revisits this idea in the future.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game promise you many thing but naver deliver
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately abandoned. Alot of potential and honestly I think its not too far from being really good. But it just misses the mark sadly. The base idea of slowly corrupting villagers through different means is a very neat concept so at the very least I hope someone else runs with it further since it seems this dev either ran out of funds or ditched the product.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic idea with mediocre execution. It's been abandoned for a couple years now. If it ever gets steeply discounted it might be interesting to poke around in for those who haven't played it, but at the current $24.99 price tag it isn't worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't get it unless it's on sale. That's my advice, It's a fun game but there's only so much and I think the devs abandoned it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sort of a half-baked game, I really don't recommend buying in this state unless updates begin again from the developer. They have a good thing going here, it just needs more work that maybe they're unable or unwilling to do for whatever reasons.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was a cool concept, had a lot of potential. Was confirmed as abandoned by the DEV's. Not worth getting in it's current state. Quite a sad outcome for a cool game. :/
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →devs disappeared, don't buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game sucks because the devs completely abandoned it early in development. I think its ridiculous that they charge full price for this very unfinished game but I still enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A bit of a boring game with not a lot of depth. Sure it has a lot of interactions between things, but there is no real depth or fun for me to enjoy it. It was advertised as this big "Be the villain" simulator, but it boiled down to "Not much depth, sling spells to kill the humans on the map"
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's funny how two similarily themed games - this an Shadow of Forbidden Gods were released almost at the same time and in heavily undercooked state. This one is in much worse state than the other - almost unplayable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it to support the devs which was a waste. I'm so sick and tired of these promising Early Access ripping off customers. They fully knew how crap the game was at launch and blamed the poor sales as the reason to abandon it. They shifted blame on the publisher in a 'publisher paid' update to add trading cards. Note: Game uses AI assets poorly and will no longer be getting updates. BUYER BEWARE - ABANDONWARE - EARLY ACCESS SCAM
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has the skeleton of a great game, but never quite achieved that potential so it just lives in perpetual mediocrity. If it's on sale, the game can be a fun time sink for a little while, there's fun little stories that develop as the game goes on which you can take an active part in and have fun with it. I was one of the backers of That Which Sleeps who saw this recommended as a game that, unlike that dreaded kickstarter, would be finished. Technically they were right, the game has been…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is fine. nothing abhorrent, just. gets really boring very fast. i really wish they didnt just drop the game entirely after messing up the v1 launch... theres a lot of potential with this type of game hopefully some indie dev picks up this concept and does it real good also uses AI images for a lot of the UI
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've watched this game and had faith in it for a couple years, ever since CallMeKevin played it. Every time I went back to it, I had fun for maybe an hour - and then didn't. It's right up my alley, as a purveyor of sandbox style games where you can do what you please as you please. Endless chaos? Sign me up. However; This game is inactive, and I sincerely doubt there'll ever be another significant update. The concept is genuinely fantastic. Who wouldn't want to intricately destroy entire…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →haven't played since 2020 but seems the game is abandoned/dead it's a good concept that was poorly executed which is why I didn't play too much then but coming back to check on the game i see absolutely no reason for anyone to purchase it unless you can get it on sale for maybe like $5 tops even that might be overpriced
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game has been abandoned by the devs
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a shame they abandoned this game to try developing an Amogus type game 4 years after Amogus was relevant. Hopefully they make a sequel to Ruinarch even if they inevitably fail in their new endeavor to chase a meme that's already dead
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game will be fun for a bit, but not fun enough for me to cough up 30 CAD. The early access reviews were made based off of the belief that there would be more things added from the roadmap. It was fun while it was early, but there was an expectation for more. This game was abandoned, and I certainly don't think it'll pull off a no mans sky. Play Worldbox or Shadows of Forbidden Gods instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just boring repetitive gameplay. Seems like unfinished game, not worth the money or effort. Sad that SplatterCatGaming recommended it at all.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My second run in this game, when I finally started to learn the ropes, I had captured a human man. Keaton was his name. I initially tried to brainwash him to become a cultist of mine, but he resisted, even through grievous torture. So instead, I made him a serial killer. He ends up killing maybe 1 or 2 people, and gets cast out instead of killed. He wanders in the wilds for a brief time, and then I spot him going into a cave. I look inside... The Necronomicon. Keaton walks up to it, and he…
