60 of 179 · most liked firstRover Mechanic Simulator, yet another mechanic simulator game where the player is expected to unscrew some machinery, disassemble it, find some malfunction, repair it and then assemble it again. It is looking good, it sounds good (especially music tunes on local radio), and it provides somewhat unique machinery to fix - some remotely-driven drones which are supposedly used to explore Mars. However... the usual thing happened. The idea was good, but its execution doesn't actually cover the fun…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rover Mechanic Simulator is next to a simulator game where you get to be in the spacesuit of an engineer who is responsible for building a starting mars colony also quite educational where you can gain knowledge about the parts of such a mars rover. which is quite interesting to experience if you have any interest in space science and exploration. Watch my first gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvxLQgDfUso
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game. It's obvious something as complex as a Mars rover would have manuals, such as parts lists, assembly and disassembly procedures, and the like. This game doesn't appear to have any of it. I could not find any procedure manuals of any kind in the game, which means 75% of my play time was totally "winging it" as to how to go about finding a bad part, and then attempting to disassemble assemblies enough to get to the faulty part to then further analyze. You also have to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Compared to other mechanic games I've played (Car Mechanic Simulator 2015, 2018 and 2021, and Tank Mechanic Simulator) Rover Mechanic Simulator only feels like half a game. The core mechanic gameplay with contracts is present, but the endgame of eventually buying/finding and restoring your own personal vehicles is entirely absent so once you've done a mission on each type of rover to see the parts you're done, you've seen all the content unless you just want to keep grinding out missions.…

Rover Mechanic Simulator ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you are intrigued by organizations like NASA, ISRO, SpaceX, or daredevil missions both manned and unmanned to space, you are a space junkie like me, and this game will surely pique your interest. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ever since mankind emerged from the primordial soup, chicken noodle, I believe, we have striven endlessly to expand our horizons. Now, despite hundreds of years of evolution, we have only managed to have a couple of guys kick some rocks around on the Moon, and put some dune buggies on Mars. Perhaps we will never realize our dream of colonizing the sun, but for now, we've got to keep those buggies running. Of course I am referring to the Mars rovers that have gathered so much vital…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly not sure how the reviews for this game are very positive. Removing parts constantly makes you tediously unbolt screws, some parts having 8+ screws/bolts, each taking 1-2 seconds. My ears started ringing when I was cleaning parts with the airbrush. They also decided to add an annoying minigame at the end of every job, forcing you to do the generic 'connect the lines' puzzle that literally any other sci-fi/futuristic game has already overdone to death. In-depth but sadly ruined by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice rover reference material, mid to awful game. Judging by the forums and the game itself - devs took their sweet time studying and documenting every rover part, and that's cool and good. They did NOT take their time studying UX and how to make good games. AT ALL I think that most of the gameplay could be described by a) we did not think about it \ we do not care about it \ f you, that's why It begins with your first launch, where you get a LOUD wind sound EXCLUSIVELY in your RIGHT ear.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I woudn't imagine myself repairing rovers while listening to classical music. Here I am. It's simple, surprisingly relaxing and conforming and beatifully made. If you are into too much complexity it may upset you but for a casual gamer it's more than enough. It has enough tutorial missions for learning the basics, after completing a set of tutorials it lets you choose your own missions and complete them. You'll be mostly analyzing the parts (and clean them before analyzing) then dismantling…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR good idea, countless small issues hold it back a lot The main gripes i have with this game are: - not being able to disable automatic camera zooming and panning when clicking on parts (and the camera is extremely zoom happy) - generally tedious UI and lack of quality of life features (it takes so many clicks to get to the menu you want, why doesn't the printer help you figure out which items you want to print or at least offer the inventory screen to be one click away instead of having…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is very good, it was one of the best games i have ever played. But it has no repeatability. Once you reach the end, it's done, there's nothing else to do. just wait for new content, they only added 1 dlc so far, and the dlc was too short. When I bought this game I thought it would have automatic generation of missions. It was a huge disappointment for a game that could have had infinite content. A simulator that has no replayability is very sad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a strong technological backbone but it doesn’t have enough content for a full game. Rover Mechanic Simulator feels like a side project.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was kind of fun the first time around, but got boring very quickly with all the jobs being pretty much the same. Also the camera controls can be a pain.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I purchase a game, I expect it to be the full game and not a cap limited-rush to market offering. Buying a game with a cap limit is like going to a blockbuster hollywood premier and then not getting to see the ending. I wonder how many patrons would tolerate that before they burned down the theater? Remove the level 32 cap and I'll change my review. In the mean time, I'll move on to a FULL game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't need to repeat what's already been said. Rover Mechanic Simulator is thoroughly polished, and it offers exactly what is advertised. It's a wonderful, ambient, immersive simulator - great for a few hours of relaxing rover refurbishing after an eventful day. Furthermore, the controls and intuitive UI make for a very accessible user experience - with no R-rated content, this is a great educational game for young hobbyists. Looks great, runs smooth, fairly priced - get it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome if you have trouble sleeping. Start this snooze fest up and you'll be asleep at your desk in minutes! I tried it once, and took a 5+ hour nap without even meaning to do it. So boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A one trick pony. You are in a room and you do the same thing to the same 3 or 4 rovers until the end of time. After the 8th time of removing solar panels to clean and replace I just stopped playing. There's nothing here to enjoy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game. I absolutely love this game. I am fully in love with it. It has become my go-to relaxation experience. And I will explain below why that is in detail. But in brief: Rover Simulator is a very niche, ridiculously expansive mechanics and repair simulator which oozes passion, love, and complexity from every pore. It is a wonderful little experience which, for the price, I could not only recommend more, but say is worth more. You fix rovers. And that's what you'll do. From the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mixed review. Well the game got 10.5 hours out of me before I got all the achievements. It's fun for the first while. But there's only ever four vehicles in the game and one of them is a drone. There are five names for vehicles but two of them refer to the same one. The game has a skill tree, but they don't unlock anything new. The skills let you play the game less and do more screwing things in faster. The economist tree is completely useless as the game hands you money like candy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a very specific person type of game. I enjoy it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a discounted Car Mechanic Simulator. From mechanic simulators I've only ever played CMS 2018, and Rover Mechanic Simulator has less features than CMS, less vehicles than CMS, it's clunky when compared to CMS... You get the idea. Unless you are really into space and rovers, just go with Car Mechanic Simulator instead, even the 2018 version is better than this. I've played RMS for only 5 hours and already feel like I've experienced everything the game has to offer.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rover Mechanic Simulator is slow paced, repetitive simulator where you investigate and repair different rovers on Mars. I wouldn’t recommend you rush out and buy it, and I can’t compare it to others in its series but it was fairly relaxing, the rover models and components are full of facts and the UI is nice and user friendly. If steam had an ok rating I would place this there, this is really for those who are interested in moon/mars rovers, and I can’t say at this point what life skill you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly Recommend I. Love. This. Game. Beyond the seemingly simplistic controls, this game feels like you are actually tinkering with a rover! It allows you to go at your own pace, both as you repair a single rover and as you progress to bigger, more complex rovers. There is plenty of information you can read about each part and what it does for the rover, but you can totally ignore it all if you're only looking to rebuild-and-replace. As for sounds, my noise sensitivities are actually not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For what it is, it's fun. That being said, be warned this is 90% interactive exploded blueprint and 10% game. There's only like 5 things to work on, and while each one is wonderfully rendered with complex parts, the gameplay is simple, repetitive, and rarely surprising.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game with -40% discount and refunded after 10 minutes or so of gameplay. I felt quite excited to try out this game, but I think it's not even worth trying out. I launched the game for the first time and was instantly turned off by the early 2000s big, blocky, childish UI design and HORRIBLE sound effects in the menu. I put the settings to ultra and started the actual game. Instantly there were useless gimmicks, and too much information that has no actual purpose to the gameplay.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game that brought me close to the Aerospace and Robotics creations that made history through their missions on Mars. For me, it was an exhilarating experience from start to finish of each mission. The game is relaxing and visually pleasing. Mechanics and progress has a good flow, you start slow and through skills become faster. If you are expecting explosions and pew pew lazor fights and stuff... yeah, not the game for you. If you want to have a close look at the Mars rovers that made…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sweet game, mostly relaxing. It can get a bit repetitive but hey its a very interesting puzzle solver. Yes to me mechanic games are just that. Very interesting and even educational.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core of the game is taking apart, fixing, then re-assembling rovers. Seeing how all the components fit together to make a rover is really interesting. The mechanics aren't particularly fun though, you just sort of hold right mouse button to do everything. There are a bunch of secondary mechanics that are just tedious. You have to lift the rover to workbench with a crane every time. You have to "load drivers" which is just a poorly implemented water-through-the-pipes puzzle. The 3D printer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not your average "fixit" game. This isn't something you can really compare it to anything you've done in real life, not really, except maybe as an RC repairperson. What the game does well, it does REALLY WELL. You feel like you are in a tiny little machinists shop somewhere else and your job is that of a menial grease (dust?) monkey who gets all the machines people treat poorly and you get to fix. There isn't much of a story, what little there is gets told in the text fields of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid. If you made it to the reviews, you already know you are in the right place.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is nice but there is only 4 or 5 different rovers in it, making the game a little bit repetitive. Mars doesn't lack of rovers, they could took other rovers to put them in the game. Would have been better than wasting their time coding old mini-games than we don't care about.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The highly detailed rovers are pleasing to look at, but they are function-less, still you can learn a lot about them and what they do. The gameplay could use some quality of life improvements. 6/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Maybe the worst game I have ever 'played'. Because there is no gameplay at all? You are told what to fix by clicking on a part and being told if it needs replacement, there is only one way to fix it, and you cannot get it wrong as all you do is click on a few bolts, then 'remove' the part (by clicking, it is removed automatically), then add a new part, and add the bolts back in. This is the entire game, I have no idea what people are getting out of this garbage. Even a positive review posted by…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a screwdriver simulator instead of being a rover simulator. But the music is gorgeous and the idea is pretty interesting. What a pity.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These simulator games sound great in practice, but the implementation is just way too odd and tacked on to be any fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea, poor execution. Imagine if, to repair just one single key on your keyboard, you had to individually remove every single key, then insert your fixed key, then re-add every single key you had removed (instead of just repairing the one key). That is how you'll be repairing rovers in this game. 1) Horribly tedious, 2) Not realistic at all. Take it from an engineer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →well.. it's seems nice and all but the controls and UI/UX is badly implemented... i accidentally closed the hint and didn't even know how to open it back so i had no idea what to do... there is check list but it says stuff like "fix rover" ok how? why there is no little "hint" button on the screen with the corresponding keybind so i can press to bring back up that guide thingy? also the text is super small, its tiny! please add an option to size the text on the screen to bigger sizes
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game lacks "hidden" objectives for the player. It doesn't give you something to look forward to, like an unlockable tool or an unlockable mechanic that will change the state of the game a bit. It sure has the upgrades, but these alone can't keep me to the game. I could give it a second shot for any future updates.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Braindead hold right click simulator, at some point your brain just blanks out and you stop caring what rover or parts you're working on because it doesn't require any thinking when the game highlights it at all for you. Unlocked basically all the achievements in the game Needs a more in-depth diagnosis system to be interesting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very much like you build or fix a computer or any kind of electronic device really, you gotta tear it open and see what leaks and see what is broken underneath. Evaluate then fix it, and put it all back together and then ship it back once it's done. Fun game. It's not too long either i reckon. Has some funny bits and quite some challenging missions, which i'm sure you'll be able to overcome. :) The game runs on very low specs, but it's not ideal. I'd recommend a somewhat decent GPU so the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tedious and not very intuitive. Lots of time-wasters, and upgrades makes trouble-shooting too easy. Not enjoyable at all when compared to Car Mechanic Simulator. Only mildly redeeming quality in this cash-grab of a game, is the Rock channel on the radio.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most boring and repetitive games I've ever played. Want to detach a wheel? First unscrew 8 screws, one by one. Now do it 5 more times, since you'll need to detach all wheels to find the broken part. Done? Now attach all of them again, 8 screws each, one by one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unique and fun way to learn more about how the various NASA/JPL rovers are built. I wonder if that could include rockets in the future... will need a 'bigger boat' though :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to admit I will keep playing this game from time to time, I like this kind of stuff and enjoyed car mechanic simulator back when it first came out. However I cannot recommend this to others with a clear conscience. The graphics settings are all over the place The game is unplayable on anything other than high or ultra presets simply because the presets themselves are put together in such a way that the game will simply look awful on medium and lower. You'll get ugly unreadable low res…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →👎 I don't want to write a (proper) review for this game, but I do want to give this game a thumbs down to help the games ratings because I would not recommend this game to others. 👎 (Review date: 12/19/2020) I enjoyed my time with this game, but I'm not going to recommend the game as there is a lot of issues with poor optimization, poor gameplay design, very low variety of rovers to work on, and the intrigue and novelty of working on fixing up rovers wears off as there's very little in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just why does this exist? I figure there was a rover-nerd dev who really wanted this game for himself and managed to persuade his team to do so. It is basically a simplified Car Mechanic Simulator, but with the Mars rovers! How exciting! If you ever wonder about the engineering of a Mars rover, this is your game!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended, but with the note that some tedium is part of the design. Also a warning of some unresolved design and implementation problems. Anyone who has followed the Mars rover programs over the years (or has come to them after the fact and been enjoyed them) has probably picked a favorite. From little Sojourner to the twins, Spirit and Opportunity, to the behemoth currently roaming the planet, Curiosity, and its little helicopter buddy Ingenuity, there's a lot to like and appreciate.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →love the game if you love the whole planet mars and the lil buds we left there, this game will let you , it give me a chance to say hello and more importantly goodbye to the little rovers that lay down in to the night for one last rest
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all, if you enjoy a game that just eats up your time without demanding too much, this is a prime choice for you. Just set up your music if you want, and start taking orders. In this game, you get an assortment of requests to repair rovers. You just move them over to the appropriate bench, and get started analyzing the parts to find what's wrong. If a part is dirty, then remove it, clean it, and then analyze it. You either fix the parts that aren't up to snuff, by taking them apart and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After being a huge fan of House Flipper, I ventured out in search of more simulator games of that sort and stumbled across this game, and it does not disappoint! I have spent many hours just taking apart and putting back together these little rovers getting to know every little piece of it. While the game is 100% worth it considering the price, there are many tasks that are required of you that make this game feel far slower, repetitive and tedious. 1) Every time you take a new job, you're…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had seen this as a demo a while ago, but never got around to trying it out. So after playing Castle Flipper and enjoying that game, and whilst I am waiting for more content for that game, I decided to give this game a go. Well I was a little shocked at how very well done this game is. I have seen a lot and I also own a lot of ??
