48 of 48 · most liked firstI’ve been bouncing around a lot of different RPGs lately and nothing was quite sticking. Then I found this little game and yeah RIP to all other games for a while. It’s like they took Slay the Spire/Roguebook and smashed it together with Final Fantasy and DnD.

Aesthetic is very cool, lots of interesting synergy already, I unlocked a character, and roaming around the map collecting cards and things reminds me of the old might and magic games. 😊

unlabelledView post →Right? Haha. My immediate next game will be Axiom Verge (which should be on the shorter end, so I think I will get through it). After that, Roguebook, Ender Magnolia, and Wanderstop. 😊
unlabelledView post →Civ VII's in the queue for Switch 2! Currently playing a simpler fantasy turn based hex board card combat style game called Roguebook. It's been a relaxing change at a good time for just that. It's also a spinoff from Faeria - a game I own but haven't played. Now I'm definitely going to! ^_^

unlabelledView post →Oh dang, Roguebook is 90% off on Steam. $2.49. It was a great game, and my only complaint would have been that it was shorter than I wanted it to be, so if you like Roguelike deckbuilders, that is an absolute steal.
unlabelledView post →Might feck around and redownload #Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales tonight. Been wanting to play a solo card game. It's either that, or Roguebook, or Across the Obelisk.

unlabelledView post →There is a similar game called RogueBook. You have a party instead of a single deck. I have no clue on cost because I got it on PS Plus.
unlabelledView post →Great game! Have you tried Roguebook? Its a very similar rogue like deck builder.
unlabelledView post →Finished my first run of ROGUEBOOK tonight, and man is that game fun! Very easy to pop into for an hour or so.
unlabelledView post →I've been playing Shogun Showdown. It's a neat turn based roguelite ninja game. Also recently enjoyed Loop Hero, Arco, and Roguebook.

unlabelledView post →Roguebook, Monster Train, Fights in Tight Spaces are all solid picks. Hand of Fate 1 & 2 if you want some action rpg / board game with your cards.
unlabelledView post →Highly recommend Roguebook if you haven't played it. Probably my fav non-Slay the Spire deckbuilder and is a Richard Garfield game.
unlabelledView post →Man I am really trying to like Final Fantasy 16. When it hits it hits hard but there are so many fluff time syncs built into the game. Other than that I've been playing a lot of card games. Roguebook is great, Wildfrost was kind of a random find that I'm loving.
unlabelledView post →Deckuilding maybe not (that's more like idk, Roguebook or another party-based game with multiple characters), but StS I think hinges on "upcoming enemy turn preview" at least as much.
unlabelledView post →Its a perfect day for working on my list of Steam #games that I have bought, but not really played. Up first - #Roguebook Turn-based card-battlers arent generally my kind of thing (this was recommended by a friend) but it may be the only game I play today. It is not easy, but the relatively simple mechanics can produce a decent amount of strategic options. #shareyourgames
unlabelledView post →That Vampire Crawlers demo is EXTREMELY good. Like GOTY good. This game is gonna devour hours from me. Already feels more fun than Slay the Spire 2. Also, Roguebook is still the best deck building roguelite.
unlabelledView post →I had my first successful run in the game Roguebook before leaving the house to go to work this morning. The rest of the day is all downhill.

unlabelledView post →Made in to epilogue 11 in Roguebook and then the game crashed and corrupted my save file. The PS5 was able to recover it from an earlier save, but that was from 4 hours earlier, before my successful epilogue 10 run. So that will be the last I play of that. Super frustrating.
unlabelledView post →I feel like Ive been pretty neggy in games recently but this game Roguebook is pissing me off. You can lose a run in a single turn of card combat to rng which just feels mega bad. Love the exploring mechanic but the card battling is just too RNG.
unlabelledView post →Recommend Roguebook for a Slay the Spire alternative. Not sure if it's on game pass but I really enjoyed it on Steam
unlabelledView post →First game of 2025! I've really enjoyed Roguebook, but I think I'm about done with it. Still a ways to go before I hit max level, but I feel like I've gotten everything I want out of it. The progression seems great, but for whatever reason I'm not inclined to grind it out.

unlabelledView post →I have one solid reason not to do that. I would get confused between all the different save files. Also I recommend the board game and Roguebook (same genre, but distinct and just as fun)
unlabelledView post →Not gonna talk about video games in all of this because this is one of those spaces where you’re not really even talking about experiences so much as relationships. The difference between Roguebook and Arcanium: Rise of Akhan is as much about the relationship you want as the aesthetics of the game
unlabelledView post →Roguebook. As the name suggests, it's yet another roguelike-ish deck building game.
unlabelledView post →trying to make 1% of M:TG with a regular deck of cards is more or less how i started in game design! Richard Garfield’s entry to the genre, Roguebook, is definitely a later one to look at as it’s very “Advanced StS” and the runs are 2-3 times as long, but it’s excellent as well.

unlabelledView post →Okay so I've spent around 12 hours with #Roguebook now, and I have to say... I really, really like this game It has *just enough* of that #SlayTheSpire feel that that it draws you in, and then it really holds its own as a very distinct experience Having to manage two characters and strategically switch between them, combined with the use of "allies" makes combat feel different enough that it requires its own strategies, and I really really love the progression mechanic of "pages" for permanent…

unlabelledView post →Finally getting into #RogueBook on #NintendoSwitch. The deck buildin/drafting mechanics are interesting, and the card combat itself is simple enough to be able to get in quick. Compared to Richard Garfield's other game I'm currently trying to learn (Vampire: The Eternal Struggle) the complexity level is a breath of fresh air.
