This game definitely has a learning curve right off the bat, you WILL die repeatedly until you get the mechanics down and start figuring out what characters are best to possess. The combat is fine, you need to be aware of what fights you're getting into, what those enemies do and strategically pull them without grabbing a huge pack. Like any Roguelike, you have progression as you continue to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros -Decent Visuals Cons -Puddle Deep Combat System: Ranged characters feel horrible to play, dodging is so incosistent to the point that its almost useless, all you do is just spam attack and wait for the little parry icon to show up and time it, its like Batman game but if it was mobile. -Boring level design: just paths packed full of enemies -Enemy AI is terrible and they all feel like Big Yoshi -Upgrades are just stats like 10% more melee damage instead of something that acually changes…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let's get this out of the way first: yes, the game is gorgeous. People are going to get very mad at this, but if you just want to play a game that looks like this, Genshin Impact is free, just don't do the gambling. Once you leave the bonkers ridiculously gorgeous starting area, you are given control of a character and then let out into an ever changing world to defeat enemies, possess their bodies and find perks/buffs. You also collect various currencies to permanently upgrade your ghost…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've enjoyed the game and finished it a few times. The gameplay at the start is quite different than once you get some skills. It's actually hardest at the start and I think many people might be turned off by the game due to the high initial difficulty. My biggest tip to anyone who buys this game is to persevere until you at least unlock the mines skill. The main problem early on is that you will get surrounded by enemies and it will be difficult to parry everyone. I recommend using a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a simple mindless action game where you are stuck in a loop. You go as far as you can, die and start over. You're a spirit that just keeps taking over new bodies to keep fighting. The story may as well not exist as it's the generic "quick, there's no time to explain, go over there and kill things ~ oh you died? Quick, start over and do it again" ~ forever. Combat is mostly functional, but not really very deep. Combos are simple, the range attacks are particularly boring, and for a game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've seen a wide variety of reviews for this game....and they all don't really do the game justice. This is a very unique spin on a Roguelike and I love it! Each run feels so different because of the possession mechanic, every enemy type feels so fantastic from the melee characters, to the ranged, to the hybrid melee/ranged. Many other reviews focused on the combat being the issue which I seriously don't see the issue. Any and every attack can be Parry blocked and it's pretty easy to chain…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hard, but fun. You run through levels, swapping between bodies that have different attacks and alt-attacks. You get two cooldown abilities later as well. Because you possess enemies, all enemies have the same attacks as the player (minus abilities) - which makes for an interesting set-up. Sometimes demons (which you cannot possess) pop up to assist enemies - which gives them the edge they need to make the battles fair. Still exploring around, but it seems decent as is. I look forward to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was tricked by the reviewers into bying this game. Its cool in the first 3h then it becomes massively the same and you get bored the s. out of it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun. I'll come back from time to time but not often. Categorised points for easier skimming. Replay Value = Somewhat-re-playable "Almost" no interesting reason to encourage players to replay the game. Can add only 1 modifier + 1 "hard mode" modifier at any one time. These modifiers are not really challenges but more of a boost for using something specific yet, there doesn't seem to be anything that punishes you for being too specific in your playstyle. Aside from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been playing the Demo of this game before. The game already offered a lot back then. The EA has added so much more since then! The newly added biomes are beautiful to look at. The new enemies at a lot of depth and variance to the gameplay. Great soundtrack, engaging gameplay, a lot of meta unlocks. I can't wait to see what else EA will have got going for it! Keep an eye open on this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ugh... no no no no no. While the game offers potential, I believe there are some balance issues that cannot be fixed based around the core design. The character you get is random initially, and potential new characters are random, and... I don't mean random like some random upgrade. I mean your core stats, such as health and damage. Also, the downtime cycle is underwhelming. This is definitely no Hades or even Dreamscaper. Honestly, this feels more like a pre-alpha proof of concept, not…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really fun and a bit unique. But due to the frequent crashes, I have to refund it for now. I will keep it in my wishlist and buy it again in a few months when it is a bit polished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst rogue-like game I've ever played. I mean it looks nice, but feels horrible. I've never felt so disgusted by an overall good looking game. Very bad level design. Unrewarding progression. Boring combat. Game just throws RNG at you without any idea or system behind it. 3 enemies or 6 enemies - it's the paramaunt of current generator. Tactics? Strategy? Forget it. Block is almost useless because it has very narrow window of effect and very long animation. Mostly you are fighting more than 2…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game looks amazing and feels good to play but the movement is slow and juddery and just not fast enough for a roguelike, i almost always die to a slow initiation of an attack or a dash and there is just not enough movement in the game and it feels more like a souls-like rather than a action roguelike, there isn't even an option for sprinting which isn't too odd considering other roguelikes such as gunfire reborn don't have sprinting in the movement system either but in this game you're way…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rogue Spirit certainly has the potential to become one of the great roguelites on Steam, if Kids With Sticks are able and willing to make the Essences more impactful and the combat more interesting. This could be done by decreasing the windup times for stronger attacks and/or increasing the damage on skills, familiars, and attacks; so that they become more viable. The game is still in Early Access, so let’s hope for the best. Read more about this game on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't really like rouge-likes, but a few minutes into this game and I was having a ton of fun playing the levels. The bosses are a little cheesy in their move sets, and your character's skills are usually not enough to win while focusing on a play style you might like, but otherwise the game is very fun. The different bodies you possess are all quite unique, but some of the mechanics are contradictory, and you might be forced to abandon a legendary(class) body you really like from time to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent foundation for a good game, but I don't like it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rogue Spirit has a gameplay loop that becomes quite boring, as it requires a lot of grinding to obtain upgrades. You have to go through every single location after death, but the gameplay doesn’t offer enough engagement to make the grind enjoyable. All of the warriors move very slowly, which forces you to dash nonstop in battle. It’s fine for a couple of hours, but after that there’s little motivation to continue playing. The story isn’t essential for this type of game, yet it still feels…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You are a prince soul brought back to fight the demons. Go possess variety of vessels and kick, punch, slash or use elemental magic on them enemies and win. Fun story, smooth gameplay and little tough at start but delighted on completing. re-playable too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iks40ogpps&t=4s
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rogue Spirit - 100% Completion Review Score: 6/10 Rogue Spirit Is A Fantasy Roguelike Set In A Ancient Asian Period Where You Play As A Spirit Of A Prince Able To Inhabit The Bodies Of Defeated Enemies As You Journey To Defeat The Enemies Of Chaos And The Demon King, After Fully Completing This Game I'll Give Some Pro's, Neutrals and Cons PRO'S: -Quite a refreshing and innovative idea with the whole play as a spirit who can inhabit others, allowing for different ways to play -Good music,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A real hidden gem that stole my heart <3 Be sure to read my guide if you're struggling! It has quite a steep learning curve, but really rewards perseverance and when things start to click you'll be able to consistently beat every challenge the game throws at you :) It's a roguelite, so you can unlock new things, like abilities, buffs and pets with the currency you earn during runs and by completing challenges. There are also special mutators you can activate to add a special challenge or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A prety easy roguelite game, currently in early access. Pretty fun, but easy (let's be honest, if you can beat the final boss in roguelite the first time you get to him, it's not a good thing). Hopefully, the full release will improve on this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feel an urge to review this already. The game is so fun, and runs great. I realize I'm joining towards the end of the Early Access, but I simple don't understand how this game does not have a much greater score. Teaches me not to look at scores huh? I mean this is a hidden gem. Look forward to playing it much more.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →• Action game with stealth elements in a rogue-lite game loop Stealth is an afterthough in this game. If you call going behind enemy and then punch them to get advantage, stealth. I can call elden ring a stealth game as well. Also stealth game doesn't encourage people to kill enemy but to avoid, but the enemy here drop goods so...yeah "stelth"
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game for 15 minutes. In those 15 minutes, I crashed 4 times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Makes Dark Souls look like Minecraft creative mode. Can't get out of first level. 10/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These are the single player games I live for. Just pure fun with intrinsic and extrinsic motivators and rewards galore. the combat, the room to experiment and to make crazy -or just op builds, the overall gameplay loop.. just perfect. Its also a looker while being very well optimized (ue) I completed the game in 7.4 hours, for if you find hours played an indicator to determine if it's worth your money or not. But there is so much more to upgrade (most things actually) and to try that chances…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →About the only rogue-like game that I have enjoyed. Great on deck.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rogue Spirit, in a way, feels like some of the great roguelites. For me, it feels like a mix of gunfire (aesthetically), Midboss (mechanically), and Dreamscaper (concerning how you handle fights). The gimmick here is that your primary way of handling enemies is to... well... become them. Fun factor: Really fun once you get the hang of it. Replayability: Plenty of permanent upgrades and replayability. Learning Curve: On par with most roguelites. Patience is key here. Good to stream: Good for a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm terrible at this game, but I'm determined to get better since I've past the two hour mark for refund.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good for a couple hours of play. Excited to see where it goes in development.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game mechanics are really fun, possessing bodies and powering up ghost boy (the prince) to make your stronger bodies more durable and hit harder is a satisfying process. Personal/Technical issues: I clip through the map sometimes, but that is easily remedied with the ability to warp to past shrines and shops etc. Rarely happens, but can be jarring when it does. All the bodies are viable, but the power distinction can be noticed. (slashers are for example, able to hook enemies, turn…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome addition to my rogue like collection- fresh mechanics, awesome visuals, great sound design, ez to learn, hard to master mechanics Really like it a lot!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is fun. I just wish that there were greater resources for health. Kind of a big let down when you have an epic character and you have to switch it out for something lesser just to avoid dying. Otherwise, for the most part, the game is quite fun and decently challenging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i have been play this games sense pre release and i found it a lot of fun and it have changed a lot over the time i recamend it and the game gives of a gunfire vibe
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beautiful and addictive!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rouge Spirit is an excellent game. Art design looks great. Game-play mechanics work well with the theme of the game, you can poses any enemy you beat, and the game encourages you to switch often. I have only played in short bursts; progression has been relatively slow, but I believe 505 and Kids with Sticks addressed this in a recent update
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty balance The developer heard what players want
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You a ghost that becomes not ghost to kill other not ghosts. 12/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →basically unplayable by now - cant play longer than 10 min without the game crashing. edit: It is exactly 10 minutes until the game crashes. I used the bug report form but you wont get an individual response. There is a link for immediate help to the 505 games support website - but the link leads to nowhere - page doesnt exist. So neither does this game work, nor can you expect help if you have a profound problem with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like it, It's definitely one of those kinds of games where you'll suck at But over time, you'll get stronger as you upgrade your character.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Binged the early access over 3 days. Love the combat and cant wait for the full release. Started out and beat the game sticking to ranged characters, but once I learned the enemy patterns and learned to parry, I realized how fun it is to swap hosts constantly. There is room for a some buffs and balancing (looking at you, Thunderstorm progression quest) but overall very satisfied with all the combined progression systems and abilities at the player's disposal.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Would not run on RTX3080 on 4K monitor. Blank Screen no signal, Alt+Enter doesn't work either. Refunded
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While i will recommend this game, while i was playing i had a lot of things bought already, but while playing my computer froze and when i opened the game back up the majority of my progress was lost. Its a very disappointing thing to see, and the reason i will recommend this game regardless, is because it is fun, and it is only in early access. Just know that it will be rough around the edges while in early access, I have high hopes for this game and I hope issues like this will be fixed in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is much much better than I had anticipated. If you like games like Risk of Rain 2 and Hades, then you will most likely enjoy this one. It is Early Access and I know, for legitimate reasons, that puts a lot of people off. I can tell you, that I only had one real issue. I had a game closing crash, disappointingly during what was turning out to be a very interesting fight. I enjoy the art style, though that will be a personal preference. The mechanics are solid, the game feels responsive.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a fun little roguelike. The game is somewhat repetitive but there is enough there to keep you entertained. The ghost possessing different bodies that all have different attacks and stats keeps things fresh and there are a good amount of different characters, the majority of which play and look different. Theres also familiars and special abilities to pick up. The modifiers are pretty useless and most of the upgrades you pick up mid run are just stat boosts and don't change things much and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a solid roguelike with great combat and stealth mechanics. Visually appealing. Lacks some polish, but overall it's a fun and challenging experience with a good amount of depth to explore
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you seen my games you know how much I love roguelike games. This is no exception, truly the best one out there. Try it and you'll get addicted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite rogue-lites. Just need some new characters and new modes if possible.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a nice roguelite game with unusual twist. It is not perfect, and there are some conflicting mechanics and not so polished parts. Yet, Rogue Spirit has its charm and it is different from any other roguelites I played enough to make it interesting. On technical side: combat is fluid and challenging, and game mechanics push the player to try new ways of playing. But the variance could be better - variance of enemies, variance of possible builds and variance of environment. Overall it is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to enjoy this game. I like the stealth and the big risk reward to engaging in certain enemies. You are very fragile in the beginning of the game. It is going to be a grind for a few hours to get leveled up. If you are at the end of the run, and didn't get everything but the EXIT is right in front of you. just EXIT. It's like Dark Souls in a sense that YOU LEARN EVERY TIME YOU DIE. So... 30 -40 minutes into the level and you DIE. not really gaining anything but knowledge…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really looking forward to when this game is finished. It is really solid starting out and seems interesting. Although, the game is essentially unplayable right now. I found this challenge area and I couldn't do any damage to any of the enemies. Looks like it'll be really enjoyable when it fully releases. Don't recommend it right now
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do love roguelikes and this one takes it to a whole new innovative experience, I suck at it because it's not really an easy game, but it's really good and unique for it's genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Needs a lot of work still. the way you almost cant get away once youve been seen, the fact that i died in the start of a cutscene???? that was weird
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you need a game that makes the flow of time seemingly slow to a crawl, look no further than Rogue Spirit. I spent a little over two hours with it, but they felt like twenty; despite the appealingly colorful visuals, the gameplay – specifically the combat system – is both clunky and tedious with little to no depth to it, turning every single run into a mindless, repetitive slog.
