Started strong with a great new Adam Wingard John Carpenter clone, enjoyed the craziness of Repo Man, Penda’s Fen was a fantastic fever dream and rounded it all off with some big monster movie magic #LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched #Filmsky

unlabelledView post →"Repo Man" movie GIF, 1984. Emilio Estevez as Otto. Critics loved this film - some called it the best film of the year. The audience stayed away but the cult audiences found this film a fun and scathing attack on Reaganism and commercialism in the 1980s.

unlabelledView post →After a long day hanging out at Petaluma Pride in the Petaluma Urban Chat booth, came home and crashed out to "Boys Go To Jupiter", an extremely low budget animated film that... reminded me a *lot* of "Repo Man" thematically. Very weird, but maybe just right for the evening.

unlabelledView post →I'd like to say something like Rumble Fish, but I was not nearly cool enough at 13 to be seeing something like that. So instead I think the closest thing is Repo Man. Which is a fantastic movie, but maybe some of why it's so fantastic is how absolutely rough it is around the edges.
unlabelledView post →Prepare to be simultaneously underwhelmed and overstimulated. I dig the movie but if Repo Man was an indie bunt that turned into a triple, Buckaroo is a big swing that caroms of the foul pole and kills an elderly couple in the most tragicomic manner possible.
unlabelledView post →I feel like you should be able to get a group of people together to pledge and pre pay to go to Imax in the future and then they put literally whatever movie you want up. Like, Can you imagine? Repo! The Genetic Opera in Imax? Beautiful.
