60 of 175 · most liked firstI requested a refund on this one, and wish I could give a "neutral" review. I saw that a lot of Phasmaphobia players loved it, and noted it has a deeper story and focuses more on this than the number of ghost types. The game CAN be fun, but there's one major problem that my group encountered and couldn't get past: it's very vague, and there's a massive disconnect in the logic it wants players to use and how it tells them to use it. If you get a "double jump" ability in a game and then see two…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly, this is perhaps the worst ghost investigation game I have played. The premise and promise by the developers was amazing. Yet, the ball was dropped in many ways. Some of the clues do not always lead you to the objects you need for the exorcism. The stories some times make absolutely no sense. The assets used feel like assets you could get for free or buy from the game engine's marketplace. What is even worse is that the developer studio has stated they have no intention on fixing any…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Received as part of Humble Choice so I did not pay full price. The game is legitimately fun but with the devs no longer continuing the project or even enabling ease of modder support to help give it more replayability, I cannot recommend it at the listed price. The recent positive reviews are from others who received it from Humble Choice. As for the game itself, it has a lot of things that make you go "oh cool" until you realize they aren't exactly fleshed out. Characters - There are 4…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but it'd been abandoned with a fair amount of bugs and glitches still needed to increase basic QoL. very fun to play with friends but the bugs are driving my patience down. Fun to play at 1-2 hour bursts but after that you're kinda just doing the same thing over and over again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good idea, poor execution. Puzzles invariably seem like a lot of 'guess what I'm thinking' type scenarios from intentionally vague clues that potentially have several answers from the environment provided, leading to frustration. Very little variation outside of this and the game got repetitive and boring well before I cared enough to figure out what the clues were ever trying to get at.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a complicated one to review. The game is fun while it lasts, and it's a lot less obtuse to break into than something like Phasmophobia, but it has its share of issues that could use addressing, and by the sounds of things the dev is done working on it so I wouldn't expect any of it to get patched. If you don't mind something of a shallow possibility pool, you'll probably have a good time, solo or with friends. The individual ghost types are interesting, if incredibly easy to identify…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The notes are way too buggy for a completed game. Several times, we've had matches to the correct objects that were considered wrong. Player and body collision is terrible as well. For example, when another player dies and you get stuck on their body, so you can't escape. The concept is great and the ghosts are a neat change, but it is still way too buggy. Matches are more frustrating than fun, so at this time, I can't recommend this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best horror game ever, if you climb on top of the bed the monster stops working! 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sadly cannot recommend this, despite it having some promise in plenty of areas. The core mechanic of matching objects to environmental clues about the ghost's life and death is certainly a cool idea, but in execution it is confusing and completely inconsistent. It becomes pure trial and error and half of the 'clues' in the notes you find are a total dead end. This ultimately makes the whole experience frustrating. Otherwise though, this game has some good ideas. A light class system with a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting ghost hunting game, with the focus of telling you unique stories. The ghost are pretty fun to go against and the maps are quite interesting too. However, this game got abandoned without telling it on Steam. Unfortunately, there are some annoying bugs that won't get fixed now because it's an abandoned game. I even didn't find any announcements on social media (but perhaps there was one, well hidden on some social media platform). So if you want to have some fun for a couple of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Idea is decent but the execution is lacking. It is a buggy mess with incoherent clues, not so engaging gameplay and the most fun part was blowing doors open by charging into it. I'm not sure what else is in line for this game but I fail to see it improving enough to become interesting.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a really interesting premise compared to the other ghost games I have played in the past, like Phasmo, Ghost Exorcism Inc and Ghost Exile. This game is more like mini story-based compared to those other ghost games. In those, you figure out what ghost it is and then either leave or exorcise it (based on the game), while in this one, you learn more about the who the person was before they turned into a ghost, then searching the house for items based on the items mentioned in the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wish there was a middle ground for rating. I don't want to say no, that I don't recommend it, because the game itself is so different and engaging that I actually do think people will enjoy the game, however for a game that has been out for a few months now and is apparently in full release, there are a LOT of bugs. PROS: - Creative and interesting gameplay. - You actually have to use your brain and do mechanics depending on the ghost. - The character models are interesting and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is currently in the Humble Choice for October 2024, and this is part of my coverage of the bundle. If you are interested in the game and it's before November 5th, 2024, consider picking up the game as part of the current monthly bundle. A multiplayer Roguelite horror game that’s not that scary. I am not a horror fan; I have to say that every time, but Remant Records isn’t a horror game. The first time I saw a monster, it startled me. After all, they are enemies you can’t attack.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a full released game, the bugs with getting caught on other players or on objects where you get stuck and cannot move is frustrating. Even more frustrating is the unclear clues or even more so the clear clues which the evidence is obvious yet still wrong. For example clues talking about communicating with the afterlife or custom boards, and the the oija board is somehow incorrect. Another clue stating that a person is taking pictures of me, and the camera is not a correct item? It is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does this game feel ready for full release? No, not at all. The feeling of the game is dead once you see the levels. How does the farm house become pitch black when entering the zone but outside the zone it's all sunshine and rainbows, there was absolutely no thought into the actual map design. Like modular house asset, level of design. But don't worry, if you get the supporter pack then they will laugh at the critics for saying the first level looks bad right in the dev book. The stock…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The roles are cool. Orphan ghost is a b**ch. Little jester lookin' mofo came out of nowhere and decided to tickle my no no square, not cool.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remnant Records is a hidden gem in the indie horror genre that deserves far more recognition than it currently gets. Developed by a single developer, this game blends puzzle-solving, exploration, and paranormal investigation into a thrilling experience that keeps you on your toes. The premise of the game is simple yet highly engaging: you take on the role of an investigator tasked with solving supernatural cases by piecing together clues from the remnants of tragic events. Each case you solve…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The concept of this game seemed cool and I had high hopes for it but my friend and I played it for a bit and it's just bad. You have a tutorial that doesn't really teach you anything and the gameplay is very bland. You're stuck trying to find items off of vague story descriptions of the ghost. One game we couldn't even figure out what items it needed. Then comes the problem where you do find the right items and you have to exorcize the ghost but it doesn't tell you what you need to do. Again…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very Boring and not scary at all. The missions are just a repeat of the same story with change names. The game is more of Scavenger hunt than a actually ghost game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had so much promise. I was really looking forward to the narrative based ghosts and working out their stories and lives that led to them haunting a location but unfortunately this just didn't materialise as promised. The items for the exorcism were often random and nothing to do with the scant diary entries available. Such a good concept, so badly executed. All it needed was more diary entries that had clear links to items in a clear narrative that allows you to explore what happened…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say, this game is really neat! It has some great mechanics, and I love the role, contract, and perk systems. However, the game is a bit... well, ♥♥♥♥, to put it bluntly. It's clunky in some areas, with a few bugs—one of which is game-breaking, as you literally cannot move. The monster designs are comical, which takes away from the experience. This game needs more time in development; it has a lot of potential and could be fantastic with more polish. It definitely feels more like an…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a great game to bond with your friends & family, had all sorts of reactions when playing it especially when 4 people trying to beat an orphan xd
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no new ideas here. own 4 games just like this and 2 of them are far better with a much larger player base
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty fun as ghost hunt game but still needs more TLC. Hope to see some new updates as this does not really feel like a full release game this time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried it with three friends, very disappointed, went to an other horror coop game. Unintuitive gameplay, a lot of badly (if ever) explained mechanics, a very long and not very useful tutorial, a proximity chat that not only isn't fun but that always punishes you for using it, a pretty boring detective work and a lot of random guessing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a fan. It's cheesy and unrewarding.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Remnant Records delivers a solid horror experience in the paranormal investigation genre, even if it doesn't quite reach the heights of Phasmophobia. For maximum scares, playing alone is the way to go. The game's oppressive atmosphere truly comes alive when you're isolated inside those eerie, haunted locations, heightening every tension-filled moment. In co-op, the vibe shifts toward something more relaxed and lighthearted, partly because threats become far more predictable with multiple people…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has/had a lot of potential its sad to see developers just lowkey abandon it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →edit: i remember the time my girlfriend made me geek the ♥♥♥♥ out so i closed the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it from Humble Bundle. This is a finished game 1.0? Please. There is nothing about it first level 1 or 2. Bring items, try the ritual, hide and rinse repeat. You tried to make another Phantasmaphobia, but this is just boring. It's not even remotely scary. Big NOT recommend.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unless you want to pull your hair out do not buy this game, its completely unfair the riddles are terribly designed i was teleported around against the mannequin for 15 minutes straight til i died and tell me how the noose = a terrible accident how do you accidentally hang yourself.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is really fun to play with others once you learn how to actually play. It may be hard to play and join with some random people, but if you don't want to, you don't have to. I would recommend playing with friends, as it may be pretty hard to do alone. If you want to take the challenge and go do it alone, go ahead! If you do get this game, good luck!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its Scrappy, But I Like It!!! Played this game with some of best people to play it with. <3 appreciate you all! The game is fun, Love the jump scares and looking for the clues while trying not to die. heh-heh Give it a shot if you can. /:) with friends is better. Cheers!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →erm i think i broke my friendship up by playing this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 4 hours of multiplayer game play, I would recommend the game, especially if you are new to horror games. However, it does get a little repetitive but when you bump up the difficulty, it still offers a good challenge. In terms of fear factor, it can offer some good jump scares and the risk of death does add to the fear you feel but after a while it feels pretty weak. The game overall has good mechanics, the ghosts are unique in their abilities but it's a shame there isn't more to do within…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Another Phasmophobia-like. But unlike the former, this game has absolutely no atmosphere and does not feel scary. It could use a smarter IA and an overhaul of its animations. It does not feel like an investigation at all but just a prop hunt, which is a massive downgrade from Phasmo's gameplay in my opinion. It tries to be different with a class system but this barely bring anything to the table. Unless you don't want to really investigate, play phasmophobia instead.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play with ur friends
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not quite the feel of phasmo, but still has great elements, and ambience for some fun gameplay! Give it a try!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really great ghost game, a hidden gem horror game in my oppinion. It needs some time for you to get what you need to do but its okay, I like the challenge in this game to learn, and I think I got it now. Roles need a bit "balancing" because the cardromancer is kinda the most powerfull one atm, while the medium is actually simply weak for not even knowing where the shusher or mannequin is, it should be able to see where it is at least, not only footstep sounds. Also I wish myself ofc more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Easy to play once you get the hang of it, difficulty even on level 1 can be very challenging so I'm sure the higher levels will be a nightmare to survive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games player base is almost completely dead it takes literal hours to fill a lobby and whenever you do join a public game people just kick you even if you're level 10+. Do not play this game until the player base fills up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- The concept is a bit bland because if using a horror standard it kinda a bit low. - the clue and the diary of exorcist before player kinda too direct not exactly a puzzle type rather then searching a typical ghost item with a guides. - Rather then make a puzzle type, better make an exorcist type games. - The mechanic of the roles kinda nice but need to balance and exactly what the roles need rather then unclear instruction.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The records are remnant
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is abandonware. Gameplay loop kinda sucks bro ngl uhhhh idk how to write a review i recommend not getting this game fr. Phasmophobia and demonologist are better games although those games are kinda boring unless you are a sweat. at least one of the ghosts was literally a mannequin that you can just avoid by standing on an object i played the game a couple times with friends and that was the only one i saw. The game is find evidence put it on a board and leave that's it and there is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun to play with friends, it challenges the player to really think about what goes on the exorcism board instead of looking at a small clue and calling it good. I would suggest more outfits, brighter flashlights, ghost types, and maps. I've been kicked from custom games to try and seek achievements then have to try all over again so please fix that bug. Overall 8/10 its still fun to play.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We are the second worst thing that has happened to those orphans 8/10, needs more content
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dead game but not dead with friends. You can bash doors and I will say it is the best door bashing simulator around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the notes are a little buggy and hard to understand, making the game frustrating. otherwise fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wasn't too sure at first, but after awhile of playing, i found myself really enjoying it. I would like to see more maps, evidence, and notes added in the future. After awhile of playing, you get used to seeing the same notes. Game definitely has a lot of potential.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really don't understand the lack of players in this game. It's affordable, tactical, and extremely fun. Players can pick the 4 roles and they all have their special qualites, countering different types of ghosts. I hope there will be more updates to improve the progression system in this game, and perhaps the addition of more ghosts. I love the ability to buy information with vouchers, it gives a sense of immersion and sense of achievement and progress in understanding the game. Overall,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this game scary? Not at all. It's more like silly. Like a comedy horror, but with little horror. It's very trial and error in terms of puzzles which is fun. It has it's own spin on it but don't expect things from like Phasmaphobia or Demonologist. It is it's own game and it is worth a try; with friends of course.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun game to play. Especially if your friends get scared easily. :) Can't wait for more game updates.

We played it for a couple of days and had some fun, but I got burnt out on it not long after - while she still is very fond of it... The 'clues' are crap - heavily reused. The 'hints' for handling different ghost types don't seem to always be applicable. This is also essentially a dead game. Through all the times we loaded up, I don't think we ever saw another person online. Nobody joined our public games, and there was never a joinable game…
