It's about a bunch of juvenile delinquents who go around getting people killed because they won't just surrender to an invading Russian army. Of course they end up siding with China! Terrible movie. These "Wolverines" should have been put in jail!
negative · AI labelView post →Somehow, this makes me think of the movie Red Dawn. Except here, it's our military on American streets.
neutral · AI labelView post →Gen X thoughts: I wonder if all of the right wing fanatics who fetishize the 1984 movie Red Dawn realize that they’re now on the side of the dudes who parachuted into the schoolyard and slaughtered the community instead of, ya know, Patrick Swayze and the Wolverines 🤷♀️
neutral · AI labelView post →A great example of the opposite of this is Red Dawn. it's a banger movie. tons of fun. written by a right wing maniac but created by a team of people who were more interested in telling a fun and gripping story. the right wing ideology is very evident, but not so cloying that you can't move past
positive · AI labelView post →#GenX: remember when we were kids and we saw the movie 'Red Dawn'? Remember how we were all 'HELL YEAH!' at seeing those kids take down the Russians? About a third of us would be cheering for the Russians now. How did that happen?
neutral · AI labelView post →Channel surfing yesterday and came across the movie "Red Dawn." For a split second, I thought it was the news.
neutral · AI labelView post →For me, it was 1984. I'll never forget the Marxist propaganda of "Red Dawn," a movie about brave Soviet soldiers fighting ruthless gang of evil American jocks led by Patrick Swayze & Jennifer Grey, who'd later switch sides to try to seduce us with filthy socialist undulations in "Dirty Dancing."
negative · AI labelView post →Red Dawn is a movie about republicans taking over and then trafficking us to Russia
neutral · AI labelView post →I needed a great movie. If it’s been a while…do yourself a favor. Took everything I had not to watch Shawshank, Rounders or Red Dawn…but I have chosen wisely
positive · AI labelView post →We watched Red Dawn & Schindler's List this weekend as a double feature. It seemed a fitting mash up for the vibe of this nation & my thoughts... What two movies would you put together?
neutral · AI labelView post →Trump rooted for the Russians when watching the movie Red Dawn
neutral · AI labelView post →I just re-watched "Red Dawn". My reaction in the 1990s, was pure amusement of seeing what the Cold War had looked like to teens on the other side of the Iron Curtain than me. Today, I noticed this: even at the height of the "empire of evil" era, in a movie about Soviet invasion/occupation..
neutral · AI labelView post →Who else watched the movie “Red Dawn” in 1984 as a GenXer
neutral · AI labelView post →it's funny how each movie is essentially Navi Red Dawn (Enjoyed)

neutral · AI labelView post →On this day in 1984, Red Dawn debuted. It was the first PG-13 rated movie. Wolverines!
neutral · AI labelView post →Red Dawn (1984) dir. John Milius In this movie the threat dropped out of the sky onto American soil. But in real life 2025 it has come from within. What the hell happened, yanks? You used to hate the Russians & be friends with Canada and Europe. What became of your moral compass? #filmsky #moviesky
neutral · AI labelView post →Watching the movie Red Dawn didn’t prepare me to be invaded by our own government.
neutral · AI labelView post →In the 80s my mom saw the movie Red Dawn and told everyone she saw Purple Rain and confused EVERYONE when she discussed the plot.
neutral · AI labelView post →Funny, I thought about that exact movie as I watched the tRump/vance shit show yesterday. I’m an 80’s Cold War kid. Red Dawn was US!
neutral · AI labelView post →He'll never get Canada. NEVER. We'd be exactly like the wolverines in the movie Red Dawn

neutral · AI labelView post →John Milius at least believes in what he says he believes in and he has that “warrior respect” for the enemy in Red Dawn, the Soviets in the film have a certain amount of humanity, and the young men and women who fight are equals in combat. This new film is just racist slop made by hacks
positive · AI labelView post →Anyone else feel like we are currently living in the prequel for the movie Red Dawn?
neutral · AI labelView post →Milius is to me an actually pretty interesting example of genuine conservative art. Even late in his career he's still writing films like Geronimo. I also think Red Dawn holds up very well as a much more complex film than its initial perception by critics.
positive · AI labelView post →Qatar. Who (Qatar) funds Hamas. Who (Hamas) willfully murders multigenerational Palestinian families. Who (Qatar) will be building a military base in Idaho. This. Tickles. The. Shit. Out. Of. Me. We are literally remaking a remake of a 1980s movie, "Red Dawn" in 2025.
neutral · AI labelView post →Wow! A movie from my youth is on "Red Dawn". Watching mess like this is another explanation as to why Gen X is the way it is. SMDH! I forgot Superfly was in it.
neutral · AI labelView post →You know the movie “Red Dawn” ? Yeah, that’s not how it went down.
neutral · AI labelView post →High schooler Toni Mason (Jennifer Grey) gets roughed up by Soviet Union soldiers who invade her small Colorado town in the 1984 Cold War action film Red Dawn. Happy #BicycleBirthday, Jennifer Grey! Born March 26, 1960

An earlier ban of an US "anti-Soviet" film - likely Red Dawn - was mentioned as a precedent.
unlabelledView post →I crave an honest spy film about this national security nightmare but a remake of Red Dawn might be interesting too. It seems we’re not there quite yet.

unlabelledView post →what is your favorite somewhat silly war movie? Thinking of things that take themselves seriously but are silly premises, NOT COMEDIES: Iron Eagle Rambo Red Dawn
unlabelledView post →You ever watch Red Dawn? You know how the opening 30 seconds of this red scare invasion movie are a scrawl of a contrived scenario detailing how the United States found itself isolated on a global stage? I'm starting to think maybe this was written from America's POV and they left out a few things!
unlabelledView post →July 1, 1984: The PG-13 rating is introduced by the MPAA. On August 10, 1984, the action film Red Dawn, starring Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen, became the first-ever PG-13 movie to be released in theaters.

unlabelledView post →I never expected the 1980s movie Red Dawn was going to be about Canadians fighting against an American fascist invasion.
unlabelledView post →Red Dawn. Maybe also Cobra. I've mentioned before, but I met a retired Army LTC who said Red Dawn was his favorite film and something he patterned his life after, which is frankly one of the weirdest things to hear at a listen to the company leadership talk.
unlabelledView post →Yep it's 80s movie time. Going with some Red Dawn since we probably headed in it's direction in the world. A classic with a amazing cast #80s #reddawn #filmsky #genx
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #133 "Red Dawn" (John Milius/1984) A classic of my youth. Communist soldiers invade a small town and a group of young people fight back. You know what I'm going to leave you with...WOLVERINES!
unlabelledView post →Two references to keep in mind: 1.) Watch the movie “Red Dawn” 2.) Realize that the primary habitat for Wolverines is in Canada.
unlabelledView post →Triumph of the Will, Christopher Nolan's Batman movies, Falling Down, Red Dawn, Ghostbusters, cold war thrillers, Reagan era action blockbusters, big government 70s dystopias like A Clockwork Orange. Apparently Yukio Mishima directed a film, so that would be worth considering.
unlabelledView post →This film makes me miss the subtlety of Red Dawn. I am dead fucking serious.

unlabelledView post →FWIW, the daughter of the director of Red Dawn made a 2020 MAGA propaganda film entitled "The Plot Against the President." Here she is being interviewed on "Gun Owners Radio" about it. youtu.be/vf-IL3IYiRo?...

unlabelledView post →In 1965 a local storekeeper contacted the FBI about that paramilitary training camp the Bible College student was being recruited to attend in 1961. They said the camp was basically prepping people for a Red Dawn sort of scenario, only this was 2 decades before the film Red Dawn was made.
unlabelledView post →I watched the 1984 movie Red Dawn last night. Holy fuck, I think that's a foreshadowing of what's to come.
unlabelledView post →Red Dawn is a movie. All but two of the kids die. It’s a significant point of the film that their victory was only in being remembered and that their fighting essentially had little to no impact on the outcome of the war.
unlabelledView post →Remember that movie Red Dawn? #reddawn #behindthescenes🎬
unlabelledView post →Red Dawn, how could I forget Red Dawn, the 1984 movie. This is what all this reminds me of.
unlabelledView post →On this day in 1984, Timothy McVeigh's favorite film of all time, RED DAWN, opened in theaters. Trivia: It was the first film released with the PG-13 rating.
unlabelledView post →I mean... who would have guessed that the movie Red Dawn would have really been the US invading and occupying the US?
unlabelledView post →Red Dawn! Damn. I was thinking about that movie the other day.
unlabelledView post →Reminds me of the film Red Dawn (1984 version) but in this case US is already occupied by pro Russian assets.
