unlabelledView post →Not a bad thing necessarily, but don't expect that Rail Route is an indepth/realistic simulation of real world signal operations. It's a very basic train dispatcher program which does what it says on the tin. Basically route a train while using very basic pathing and signalling. Without purchasing extra DLC things are always perfect, there's no trains or equipment breaking down, no random events - everything is predictable. Other things of note - - You can only use 3 track types that have…

unlabelledView post →The idea is cool but the UI and tutorials are infuriatingly bad, to the point I asked for a refund before the 2h limit. The UI is full of confusing details, with too much information thrown at once, coupled with obscure icons. As a result I found myself constantly trying to separate what matters from what doesn't, trying to understand what was happening to the trains. Unfortunately the tutorial doesn't help, because - like many other people say - it does a horrible job to explain you how the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This one’s tough. It’s fun for a bit, but I bought it after watching a three-year-old playthrough and was really disappointed with what they did to the UI and upgrade system. It doesn’t feel rewarding anymore and everything feels limited. The UI is clearly designed for consoles now, which is a shame. Yet another game pushing a console interface onto PC players like it doesn’t matter.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can't recommend this game. While it looks fun and fancy, the tutorial is so confusing I have no clue what I'm supposed to do or where the actual fun is. - Several bugs on Linux - the game crashes when alt+tabing out, it also crashes on changing VSync. (this is on NixOS 26.05 w/ KDE Wayland) - The tutorial is extremely slow (even using the "time multiplier" buttons), does not do a good job explaining how to optimize, and you can end up softlocking yourself by messing up your contract timing.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If there were more review options, this game would get a neutral one. I'm really in two minds about this game. It has fun elements, and I can make it fun for myself, but it is not at all fun by default, and it has many issues, both gameplay-wise and on the technical side. Despite all that, this is still the best game of its kind currently available, and I do recommend playing it if you jive with it. I have to start with the performance issues. As other reviewers mentioned, this game is a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty great wee game! With a catastrophically bad UI. To be clear, the GUI itself is, in most places, very 3.6 roentgen; not great, not terrible. I have a significant measure of sympathy for the dev in how awkward Unity can be in this regard, and they've largely done well with the primary interface. However, this game falls apart completely for me with the most important interface in a game like this: the scheduler. For a start, the visual design of the interface is somewhat…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rail Route seems like a promising game, but the tutorial is one of the most frustrating I've ever played. It's oddly slow where it doesn't matter (storytelling and pacing), yet incredibly impatient where it does matter; actually learning and understanding the mechanics. Every few seconds, the game bombards you with both an audio cue and a visual ping telling you to perform the next tutorial action. I could understand this if the player appeared to be stuck, but it starts after only a few…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this is a very realistic simulator. I worked for hours and achieved absolutely nothing, just like real life
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Probably has one of the worst tutorials I've ever played, and I haven't finished it after 1 hour but I might just skip it at this point. Goes in depth on the dumbest things and shallow on what actually matters. The level of stupidity it delves to is equivalent to "This train is stopped, when a train is stopped that means it is no longer moving. A train that isn't moving cannot reach its next destination." When you accept your first contract the tutorial tells you to examine the train times…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For my taste the game was too loose with it's mechanics. I'll give you an example, but it's not the only one. The Endless map benchmarks you on a number of trains dispatched in the game hour, so you naturally try to maximise this number. The most efficient way to do that, is to choose a short route, and build as many trains over this route as possible while making sure no other trains interfere with them. Do this 2-3 times in different corners of the map and the goal is achieved, as a side…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs, I'm screaming from the rooftops on this one. You struck a goldmine with this concept. I remember buying this game years ago before the DLCs were even a consideration. It played solid and logically. But after putting in an additional 13 hours in the last couple days, I'm royally pissed. Here's some of my grievances: - Every piece of media on the steam store page is clearly AI generated, save for some actual screenshots of in-game. It's disgusting. - The game is riddled with bugs now. Menus…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Don't waste your money. This game is incomplete (it plays like a second-rate early access game). Automation DOES NOT WORK at scale. You will spend hours manually routing trains (certainly enough hours to prevent you from getting your well-deserved refund). You might eventually earn the automation upgrades to finally build your network at scale (the entire point of the game?!), but many of the sensors needed to automate do not function reliably (or stop working when you change an unrelated…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Failed to complete tutorial. 1) Tutor character is insufferable and voice actor was a really good pick for that role. 2) Tutorial tries to also be a story that does not make any bloody sense 3) Tutorial fails to tutor and instead throws things at you, constantly egging you on. eg: "Press that button" I press that button. A whole window now presents an array of information and settings. I settle in to study the scre- "NOW PRESS THIS BUTTON" Ok, fine. Will do. Now let me- "NOW PRESS THIS…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game. The idea is good and it's fun and relaxing. But I play it on Steam Deck - and it's a pain! Too many bugs and issues with UI, sometimes I had to kill the game. Also after connecting my steam deck to a 4K TV I configured scaling (otherwise the text was too small). On the next restart the scale was so bad, that I couldn't see a single button and I had to reinstall the game. I really wish developers to re-think the software part of the game(maybe from scratch) and make it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Do I know anything about trains?...no. Do I love this game?...Like you would not believe! I hesitated so many times about buying this and I never should have. My appeal was the planning, designing and managing tasks that I hoped the game required and I was not wrong. But little did I expect to love this game as much as I do! It is so well designed, coded, built, thought about, all of these things and more. After only a few days I have already put in 36 hours of game play, that I did not expect,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The interface is not easy to understand. The examples sensors do not do what the tutorial teaches. For example, Departure Sensors DO NOT work as explained in the tutorial. Instead of enjoying the game, it's seems like the game fighting me with every sensor and switch that is being used. The tutorials seem like they were writing for a previous version of the game. That is another thing that adds to the frustration. I hope you make some improvements. Until then, I would give this game 2 stars out…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is not a chill game. I guess I'm just a dumbass? Because MULTIPLE times I have failed a tutorial and I do not understand what I'm doing wrong. I had to fully turn off the main story/tutorial because the game literally was giving me contracts that were unfulfillable, but by the time I finally figured out what was going wrong, it had soft locked me into having to restart completely because the autosaves kept saving right after my run was officially doomed. The rate at which the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rail Route "clicked" with me for some reason. It might be the most addictive game I've ever played, and I've been playing video games a long time. So far, I have about 455 hours on this game. Generally, I play Rail Route in Endless Mode and try to get all three stars plus diamond for each map. In that mode, each map starts out somewhat slow, even tedious at first, as you have no automation and very little money. But before long, you earn enough points to automatically accept trains, then…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoy the game, definitely worth a buy. I even bought it on switch so I could play a game on the go should I wish to. I do have a slight issue with experience points (green/red train tokens), although the beginning is slow I still feel like some of the upgrade token costs could be increased to make the difficulty harder. Especially in the other tiers as by the time you unlock them on some maps you have enough tokens to buy most of the upgrades straight away.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rail Route is out now on Nintendo Switch! 🚂 So proud to have scored this brilliant & unique game - have a listen to my soundtrack here: orcd.co/railroute
unlabelledView post →I supervise a real-world railroad dispatching office. It's a game, not a simulation. The controls are clunky, not at all like the point and click dispatching systems of modern railroading.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cant recommend this. If there was a "no time limit" mode, like trains didnt need to be somewhere in a specific time I would prefer it, but I find that sticking to the strict timetables just too much for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is genuinely one of the most engaging games I have bought in a long time. I really enjoy how the game progresses slowly from the player manually helping each train to its destination to some basic automation to fully automated train routes. The game really forced me to be patient and learn how each upgrade functions (with optional short tutorials for each one) before I could really expand my routes to my heart's content. If you're a fan of colony builders and factory builders but need…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great train network management game. There's a cool intro to get the gist of the system with The Story of Jozic (which also works as a free demo), and from there it's quite easy to understand how the rest works. The automation adds another interesting twist, and the few game modes make for more gameplay variety. Contrary to some reviews, I find the UI quite clear and easy to use.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A simple yet entertaining game. It starts off easy, with just a handful of trains and stations to manage, but gradually becomes more demanding and complex. Unfortunately, the UI doesn’t keep up and elements are either uncovered or poorly covered, and the slow pacing makes the later stages feel more frustrating than fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Parts of this game are interesting, and it could be fun, but the UI is bad. The tutorial is both confused, and confusing. A lot of elements are either not covered, or are covered poorly, and it leaves your initial map a disorganized mess. Everything about the game is confusing, hides important information from the user, or otherwise doesn't do what it suggests it will do, and overall the entire game is very slow-paced.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Relaxing game, just don't accept every route offer (you're not meant to accept them all!). Fun endless optimization puzzle. A great step up from Mini Metro or Mini Motorways. Progression by unlocking newer technologies by dispatching trains on time does a good job of scaling to avoid overload. Real-world locations (both included in the game and community-made in the Steam Workshop) are a delight. The interface takes a little to get used to, but is perfectly serviceable and there's a good range…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have difficulty to read any text on the steamdeck. I would not give a full green compatibility but only a yellow with a mark on text difficult to read.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really nice game. as someone who likes trains and looking for a game you can control all the trains in your network, this is THE game. I have got one minus point. In previous versions it was much easier to terminate contracts. You went to the contracts tab, you picked the contract you wanted to stop, en you can cancelled it. Now you have to wait for a train with that contract and terminate his ride. when you expand your network quick, you want the option to easy terminate contracts.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy playing this once in a while, and when I do I spend hours on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tutorial is not the best (but I mean to be fair, for sandbox games like these, it's usually up to players to figure out thing on their own.) But once I have a grasp on things I find it hard to stop playing.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There aren't words in any language to properly describe how annoying the tutorial is for this game. The whole system upgrades system feels tacked on, and the integration with the tutorial is.... I guess technically that, but no more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the game when I played it, but whenever I feel like starting the game up again after a few months of not having played, I like to be reminded of the functions and intricacies of the game. The thought of having to slog again through a slow-paced and expansive tutorial of over an hour before getting up to speed again puts me off and I just don't play this anymore. Will change my recommendation when they find a way to make the learning experience more engaging for players who come back…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is no more me. There's only a train dispaatcher, and my boy Jozic. this is good, pick it up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love playing around with trains in Factorio so I thought I would enjoy this. It's fun for a while, but once you start trying to automate things, it's a massive headache. Even doing very basic automation requires multiple signals, sensors and configuring each one individually. I don't know if that's realistic or not, but I do know that it becomes a bit of a chore. I would say it's still worth to try because it's a very unique game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IT'S A GOOD GAME BUT AFTER PAYING TO PLAY, IT PLACES COOKES TO MONITER YOUR COMPUTER TO PLACE ADS.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, loved this game from the beginning. It has a very addicting gameplay loop for me and would easily spend more hours into it. I just cant support the way they handle updates. All big updates where I am like, omg this is such a good update and adds content are paid DLCs. Edit: Your paying 25 euros for a game who doesnt receive any updates anymore. Its something to note, its too expensive, and players need to know what they getting themselves into and if its worth it to them, fine…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a very nice puzzle game, Though some things are left to improve, it is quite a good pass-time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent sandbox game for railroad maniacs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This seems like the type of game I would enjoy for winding down on Deck, but the tutorial is reeeeeeallly lacking. It wants to hand hold you through individual button clicks, but doesn't do a good job explaining what those things its telling you to build actually do. It wants to tell you "stopped trains can't finish their route" (duh) but tells you to "accept contracts which work with your schedule" without explaining how scheduling works whatsoever, and just presenting multiple graphs with no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the better I become at Rail Route (a game in which you dispatch trains) the more soothing it becomes for my brain when things are well automated I can just watch the lil trains go weee and it's very satisfying
unlabelledView post →It was fun not gonna lie. Learning curve is steep tho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tutorial is not great. They have integrated the story and credits into it so you keep getting interrupted. Theres also no way to pause the tutorial and get use to the mechanics as they stand. New ones dont come into effect until you purchase them, but the UI flashes and the voice over keeps directing you to engage with the new mechanics. Just frustrating.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The idea is good, but the execution less than stellar. The tutorial is utter crap and switches between rushing through explaning the basic concepts and then takes forever to move on to the next step - I quickly decided to ditch this awful tutorial completely, because the descriptions in the tech tree are far more useful than any of the tutorial instructions. The next part that quickly becomes obvious, is the complete lack of basic construction elements like bridges and one-way track.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So it's very interesting and the tutorial pacing is fine until you are asked to add a platform to a new station. At this point the tutorial fails, because whilst you have accepted the new platform into your control, there is no track in place for the newly contracted train to reach it. Messing around with the construction menu leads one to attempt to construct a new line, but not in the way the game expected. Also the new line line needs (or doesn't need?) switches and signals, and the placing…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not very fun, rather boring. Expected a game where you not only conduct trains but also build own station, routes etc. basically management. But all you do is click on a button to allow a train to go somewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The games main automation mechanic, auto signals, seem really buggy and clunky. I tried a couple times to make them work but sometimes they just refuse to switch to green, grinding your entire network to a halt.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have the Mac version and very buggy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of the best games Ive seen the last 5 ys, however unplayable due to the RAM issues (I play it with 32GB). switching between buiilding mode and game mode takes very long seconds.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lowkey addicting af, but its VERY difficult to understand late/end game mechanics. but when you get that shi fully automatic, its PEAK!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In compare to other railroad games this one has the most pity switch management. And who got the idea the schedule management is an upgrade: why I should suffer before an obtention of basic needs?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rail Route is a charming and engaging puzzle and simulation game that challenges players to master the art of railway management through intuitive mechanics and clever level design. Developed by Tyde Studios, the game offers a unique blend of strategic thinking and creative problem-solving set in a visually appealing, low-poly world. Unlike complex train simulators or large-scale management titles, Rail Route focuses on the essentials of building efficient railway networks and optimizing train…
