What people are saying
Mixed reception: fun concept but buggy and shallow at launch.
Many players enjoy the core concept and see potential, praising the developer's rapid patching and the shared game universe. However, they also note significant bugs, poor optimization, and a lack of content that makes the game feel unfinished. [4][7][10][14][19][21][22]
Critics highlight that the game is very short (7–14 hours), repetitive, and lacks depth, with limited crime types and automation. Many also complain about game-breaking bugs like NPCs getting stuck, save issues, and poor performance in the late game. [1][9][23][24][26][28][30][32][34][35]

60 of 223 · most liked firstThis game is basically over after 7 hours and it is not a good look. There is exactly two types of criminals you encounter: People who try to steal gas and people who tag walls. All of them are of course clothed in full black because they are criminals. You then proceed to chase them with a gun to make them surrender and carry them to the station. That is the extent of the crimes... Of course there is also traffic crimes, but it is very barebones. After you upgrade your station you basically…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Devs, you seriously need to take another look at what Police Chief Simulator is supposed to be. I enjoyed the foundation you created with Car Dealer Simulator, but trying to connect and combine everything into the same universe and gameplay style is starting to take away from what made that foundation work in the first place. Police Chief Simulator should have its OWN identity. Right now, this doesn't make me feel like a Police Chief. It makes me feel like a beat cop, janitor, delivery…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's okay while on sale, but at least at release, this game is a buggy mess. Optimization is bad at Tier 3 building and beyond, civilians stand in the middle of the road constantly, and that also holds up traffic, and all the while, there's virtually no agency given to the player to pursue criminals or issue tickets when they see infractions happen. The game has to 'spawn' the action, and tell you it happened, for you to do anything. It's so far disappointing, as the potential is there. I'm…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is at more-or-less a middle of the road "may buy on sale" level of quality. It is not bad. It's just painfully ok. Things that it does good are either offset by lack of variety in those things, or them being just plain boring. Things it does badly are not offset by anything. “Good” things: Automating a police station is fine, until you realise that you automate 2 work stations and then being a busy boy running cases from a detective room to a briefing room. The briefing room is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You see the screenshots with people briefing, detectives solving cases, police officers talking with each other – fake, doesn't exist in this game. You see the trailer, with people arguing about a ticket, people getting arrested, animations, people arguing about getting arrested – fake, doesn't exist in this game. I do have a little bit of fun here, but it's all so shallow for a finished product. There is nothing here except for about 8 hours of grinding for money and reputation. Also, a lot…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually like the idea behind Police Chief Simulator. The premise is interesting, the overall concept is something I wanted to enjoy, and there is definitely a decent game buried underneath it. Unfortunately, the further I got into it, the more it started to feel like a very shallow and unfinished experience. The biggest problem for me is that the game looks and feels cheap. The assets, animations and environments don't have the quality you'd expect from a fully released game. The trailers…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Paid about 16 bucks for it, kinda had fun with it, yet negative This is far, FAR away from a finished product. A bunch of ideas loosely thrown together, nothing really feels right and most of it only works whenever it feels like it in the "late game" that being a couple of hours in. THIS should be Early Access (at best). That's what it's made for. Yet it is marketed as a full game. There is a horrible item duplication glitch either making you rich or being a nuisance. And either way the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Gas Station Simulator and some other games such as 'This is the police' when it comes to dispatching officers through the briefing board. Initially, you'll be essentially a reception jockey-detective and/or a janitor for the station. Once you pass this stage, the game will slowly transition you into a patrol officer, where you patrol the streets, arrest criminals, etc. Once you pass this stage? That's where you start dispatching officers on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The tragedy of small developers...you want to give them some slack, but at the same time you can't really have a standard and not hold them to it as well. Police Chief Simulator is strange because it's one of the first games for me that I want to recommend and not recommend at the same time. It's a middle of the road game. For now, the game needs another six months of development time to maybe hit a point where it's worth it, if they stick with it and fill out the rest of the punch card. If…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A super huge shoutout to the DEV. In about 1 week from launch he actively released 16 hotfixes, very reactive and willing to stamp out the bugs. This is not a launch and patch in 6 months AAA project. As for the game, I fully recommend it. The name says it. you are the manager and chief of a police station. Less patrolling (after a long tutorial like buildup) and more busy bee work, documents, employed cops, supplying the section with papers, weapons, handcuffs etc. You are a delivery boy with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 Fourth Amendment doesn't exist in this universe and you can just full body search random civilians and cite them for possession with no reasonable suspicion or probable cause.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Buggy mess. The devs have been prioritizing small little bugs while ignoring game breaking bugs, like half the users can't load a save game. Things I liked: Existing town from another game I play. Interesting idea Things I did not like: To escort criminals, you literally throw them over your shoulder and carry them. No way to tackle fleeing suspects, although you are much faster. You are required to shoot them in the back if they don't stop running. BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGS everywhere.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really can't recommend it's so buggy but that is not the only parts that makes me not say yes you hire officers and you can only send them out on case they don't go out and petrol the city like what this is a police game not a office game come Dev do better and don't get me started on how annoying the handcuffs are in this game and then you get the speed charger I do not need a charger to take the same time in real life to charge this is a game like for real and the whole having to order…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the definition of an aggressively okay game. Sort of fun for a time, but the same amount of lustre as a boot being polished with sandpaper. Had it been released in early access, I'd be more forgiving. But a supposed 1.0 title requiring 12 ((Edit: 26 in the 10 days since release) hotfixes? My city has a bug zoo that this game could supply for generations. Officers clip through the floors constantly and don't work at their assigned stations (the second officer at the registration desk…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games been out for 2 days and already 8 patches, Devs listen and stay Invested in the Game, and with the collab of Dealer Simulator this is awesome!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a solid police game and has made a promising beginning. Since it's just been released for one day, there’s a lot of room for growth, and it might become the top police game on Steam. The gameplay is quite distinct from what Patrol Officers provided. From what I’ve seen, some players have mentioned bugs in other parts of the game; however, it appears to be less glitchy than Patrol Officers. The primary distinction between this game and Patrol Officers lies in the player’s role. In Patrol…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →!!!!!!!!!!!!CARDBOARD GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! A cardboard game — they made it out of a gas‑station simulator, tried to combine everything together, and it turned into complete nonsense. The graphics… I’ll just stay silent, give me my money back, the game is trash! Maybe someone will like it, but such cardboard games aren’t worth 500 rubles — the developer got way too greedy. If you know how to make cardboard games, at least make something decent — even with graphics like this you can create a cool…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is full of bugs. It regularly crashes, locks up, and now, it won't load from the load screen. Avoid this at all costs.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is overall kind of boring, you need to be able to hire more officers earlier in the game and eventually you just reach a point that your dispatching officers and waiting, it was an alright game but not overly worth it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game was okay at first, but once I reached the level 2 police station, I started running into constant game-breaking issues. I’m now regularly reloading my save just to fix problems. NPCs are getting stuck under the floor, handcuffs randomly disappear, and I currently have a deceased officer that I can’t remove or do anything with. If this continues, I’ll eventually have no staff left at all. Performance is also very poor. Even with the graphics settings reduced to low/medium, the frame…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I completed the game in 15 hours, which was kind of disappointing for the price. I was hoping for more content. I imagine the publisher will add more DLCs since the ending phone call implied there might be more to come. I did thoroughly enjoy the game. I didn't run into any of the bugs other people left in the comments. However, I was able to buy more throughput for electricity and lockers for employees, but wasn't able to install them, so that was kind of deceiving that I could even purchase…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, had alot of fun with it despite the bugs. But its a very short game, one or maybe 2 night, and everything is fully upgraded. I hope they will add alot more content, as it have a endless oputinity. Things i hope they will add: Swat team Training rooms Helicopter Double size City More upgrades for existing rooms. Own prison bus Room where criminals store their stuff while in cells. Maintenance garage for your car park. More people/citizen variety. More patrol cars types. More…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Have Been playing PC games over 30 years and I love both of your games. But if you are going to be one of the most trusted developers and publisher you must optimize your games to run smooth. the games is very good and would recommend it but to be perfect you must optimize the games, a lot of lag not game braking but annoying. if you do that. The developers will become one of the best simulator game developers. I Have added to my REVIEW. I fully recommend this game now developers are updating…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played quite a few police simulator games and this one is probably close second favorite. For now it's lacking content, but as the game receives updates I expect it to improve. Since you have the whole station under your control, it gives you more options than standard police office simulator games. However, the game doesn't care too much about laws, you can do pretty much whatever you want and noone will care about it. Drive over a citizen? That's fine. Cause a crash going 150 kp/h in the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it's worth getting on sale. Not an amazing game, though. Decent graphics, it's neat that it shares a world with another simulator game, and it does have a satisfying gameplay loop. But all that satisfaction kind of goes out the window when you reach the end and you're left thinking "So this is it?" The final tutorial mission wants you to get to 10 reputation... and your reward is a phone call basically ending the tutorial. But at that point, you've unlocked everything and will be on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As this is a fully released game, and not some kind of early access, I'll treat it as a fully completed, finished product. I paid for it with real money, not monopoly money. No one has ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tested this "game", If anyone would, they wouldn't release it. The amount of bugs and NPCs (including our own employees) being stuck in some state is unbelivable. Just unlocked employees, hired two people, both of them got stuck on the same fence. So I destroyed the fence, hit them with my car, but they…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does exactly what it says it does. There are some bugs and some softlock risks but the devs have been working on patches. It's very well done other than needing some polish and some bug fixes, there is alot to do and most of it can be automated. The whole system is interesting because what can start out as a simple ticket for jaywalking can turn into a fake ID, with a knife and suddenly you're throwing a crazy lady in your trunk to process and send her to prison lol. Fun and unique sim but…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the hype through Car Dealer Simulator I was properly excited for this game, but what a bloody disappointment it has been. The game is, for all intents and purposes, an unfinished product. Over the last two days I've had to start a new "save" 3 times because you simply can't reload a bloody save without crashing the game. That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ elementary, Devs! And the bugs! OMG the BUGS! Officers getting stuck on furniture, casefiles floating around, I mean just look in the forum... I'm a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m honestly torn on Police Chief Simulator. I’ve had it on my wishlist for a long time and was genuinely excited when it finally released. After about six hours of play, though, I’m finding the experience surprisingly shallow and, at times, outright boring. Maybe I’m still too early in the game, and if the mechanics expand meaningfully later on, I’ll update this review. But right now, the policing aspect feels extremely underdeveloped. As someone who spent a lot of time with Police Simulator:…

I've played this game for a few days now and it has random issues that come up. The detectives suddenly stopped doing work. They will pick up the reports and then take them into their office and just drop the files on the ground. Then they will go back and pick up another file and do it repeatedly. If you try to change whose in the detectives office the issue still exists. The amount of files the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is fun to play and has a lot of potential. I also like the collaboration between the devs and other games using the Winston Springs map. My only request would be that they take the collaboration to the next level, and make the town show your current state of progress in each related game. For example, if you've completely leveled up the car dealership in Car Dealer Simulator, it would be nice to see the fully upgraded building on the map when playing Police Chief Sim. It would greatly…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a buggy mess got potential but as usual with this type of dev never listen to the people and fix the major bugs just daily easy bugs, You can buy 30 cuffs and 1 hour later they are gone in to the either same looking crooks you carry them they cant even walk hardly anywhere you carry them like what are the devs inept. They just dont listen typical shovel ware. Just go and look at the screenshots you will see the great work of the devs.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 9/10 - you learn new game mechanic as you progress through unlocking levels of upgrade Story 10/10 NPC 6/10 - NPC gets stuck on the floor or object like camera to capture inmates Character 4/10 - can't see your own legs simulation 8/10 - due to previous mentioned quarks I enjoyed it so far, by far the only simulation game that I didn't get bored easily to
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A buggy mess. The core gameplay looks really promising and its fun right up until the player hits a game breaking bug. This comes across as if it was not tested by any QAT team at all. For now i cannot recommend giving it a go until some more serious hot fixing / patching is done.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had fun with this game ('had' being the operative word). It is short (14 hours on record and was stretching it) and there is no replayability. After reaching level 10 (reputation), there are no more upgrades and not much novel to do. And I've only had this game for 2 days. Why the Thumbs Up? Read the last section. Odd and questionable design choices. The town looks like a replica of a small American town somewhere in the Soviet Union, seemingly part of a social experiment. They also must've…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →13 hours from start to finish and what a ride. All achievements work, and were super straight forward to unlock. FPS drops hard around the station in the late end game, something I hope the DEV will tend to. And I have to praise the DEV because they are posting updates constantly, so they are 100% on it to make sure that this game is the best it can be. The funny thing is, I actually got the game because of a negative review. Someone said that this is just Gas Station Simulator but as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would recommand it, i see the devs working day and night to fix everything thats bugging. In my experience you cannot fully give us an amazing game withut having bugs in the beginning. I played 4 days and was level 10. Sad, but as the person in the game said. It is not over. I know that the makers of this amazing game are going to give us a change to expand and give us more to do. I am going for 100 procent achievments so that is a challenge. Thank! for giving us a game that is interesting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At this time I can not recommend this game unless you like testing games that are at the pre-alpha stage. There are so many bugs and a lot of them are game enders. The only fix is to start from scratch. Some bugs like the loading a save file causes a crash has a work around by deleting a specific file, which happened on the second game play, and again on the third, but the file to delete is not there and nothing I do can allow me to play the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a cautious recommendation. If it weren't for the fact the devs are rapid firing patches and additional content coming, then I wouldn't have recommended. I think this would have been more appropriate to be an early access title, but when I say that I mean more like a late stage early access title.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thought they would have learnt on their last experience with Car Dealer Simulator, bugs galore on release date, then they go and update with hotfixes, and it makes the game even worse, with even more bugs. The thing is you spend loads of time getting far in the game, then a bug just puts you back.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend this game in its current state. To start this game is clearly not optimized. I am running around the police station with constant frame rate issues and slowdown from simply turning and walking down the hall. Second, the game mechanics around solving a case is simply guessing and trial/error. You can figure out who the victim and suspect are easily because the victim will submit the case and the other person is the suspect, cool. But unless I just dont have a specific game…

The officer on reception keeps getting stuck between the default cabinet where they put case files on and the sofa.. which means no income unless you do it yourself.. And then we have police cars getting stuck out on patrol responding to case when your officers get involved in a crash and you can't get the police car back and loose the investment into…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Recommended? Yes. Why? The track record of the publisher makes it a safe buy, and the shared universe just adds to both games, giving you the feeling that you're part of the town. If you like police simulators, you'll like this, just understand that you won't be in shooting up the town like others. You will, however, write tickets, pull over speeders, and patrol around town, all the while managing the station, pretty much like a Police Chief. The longer recommendation: I…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing this game since the prologue was released, and I've loved it ever since! Seeing more and more content added over time only made me more excited to finally play the full release. There are a few quirks here and there, but overall, it's a great game and I've really enjoyed my time with it. One thing I'd eventually love to see is the stores with clerks actually becoming operational, with the ability to purchase items from them.
