60 of 173 · most liked firstTower defense game originally released on the Playstation 3 in 2007 with an original look involving Polynesian-style creatures with masks. There's a charm to the game, but it lacks tower types and visible upgrades besides differently colored flags. Eventually you do get more towers, neat ones, but it takes a while. Moving the hero around to transform trees to towers and pick up loot is different than the usual, but borderline annoying as he's slow and the loot vanishes after a certain time.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best tower defense games ever made. Originally bought this for PS3. Best with 2 people and controllers on the couch.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →tons of childhood memories with this game. From PSP, to PS Vita, and of course I needed to have it on Steam as well. I love how playful it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simply put, the greatest tower defense game ever made.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a big fan of the tower defense genre. I have played and enjoyed other games in the PixelJunk series before. I have tried to play PixelJunk Monsters on three different occasions: 1. When the game first released, circa 2007, I attempted to play the game on PS3 and did not finish the game. 2. When I first purchased PixelJunk Monsters on Steam, hoping to give the game another chance. I did not finish the game on this occasion. 3. Very recently, when I was determined to beat the game for the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played it on the PSP years ago, it was fun back then and it's still fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The great PS3 classic is back! Still love it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still one of the best Tower Defense games on the market. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this game a long time ago. Only thing I remember is that I left it in a bored and frustrated state. I prefer most cheap mobile-ports over this one. Probably more enjoyable in Co-Op.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i want to review this for the sake of getting it out of my hair, not that anyone is ever gonna read this. this game reminds me of dungeon defenders. it's a cheap, easy TD that uses the gimmick of a player character to force people to engage. there are barely any QOL additions that make the TD genre tolerable - no way to find out where mobs are spawning from, no stats to judge performance of towers, no speed up function. it tries to make the player feel like you're constantly rushing to force…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great tower defense game. Can ramp up pretty fast compared to others. I like the upgrade mechanic that can work either by spending gems or by staying near a single tower for a period of time. Often I will try to get the early tower upgrades by staying near them than later ones by spending gems. Overall a fun game, just gets frustrating at points with the quick difficulty ramp.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →noooooooo, my baaaaabiiieees
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Meh. TD game with basic graphics and repetitive music. No story here. No bugs or crashes. Overall, a somewhat dull game. Not too strategic and kinda a chore to play. It includes cards and achievements. There're so many TD games that you really can do much better than this. I will.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best couch co-op tower defense games ever. The soundtrack for this game is amazing, and the replayability is also top notch. 10/10 game for when you want to spend an afternoon screwing off with your bestie
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty hard even on Casual difficulty, but I still love it. It was fun on PS3, and it's still fun on PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best casual tower defense ever
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're looking at the steam reviews of this game, then I can already tell that you will like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A PS3 Gem. Will delight and infuriate you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming tower defense that will become challenging after a while Monsters Ultimate is the definition of an "easy to pick up, hard to master" game. The cartoonish graphics may sell the impression that the game will be casual, and at first it is, but completing all achievements is a great challenge. The core gameplay is really enjoyable and moving the character around to perfom all actions is a fun challenge, although I wish its walking was less slippery. I enjoy games that allow me to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this is the best game to play on the couch with a friend of all time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are some genuinely good ideas here. Controlling your character directly while building and upgrading towers is much more engaging than simply placing towers and watching waves. You have to run around the map, collect resources, build towers, and manage your defenses yourself, which makes the gameplay much more active. Unfortunately, I found the execution a bit lacking. The pacing is quite slow, and I think the game could really use a fast-forward option. I also didn't like how enemy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game seems to be mostly forgotten now; But don't let that deter you. This is a fantastic Tower Defense game with an incredibly relaxing atmosphere that contrasts the high difficulty well. Lots of content, great online co-op support. The scale of the enemies and player are a bit oversized in comparison to the original on PS3 but that's hardly a complaint. If this even looks remotely interesting to you than make sure you pick this one up,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a classic! good via steam play together too! would recommend co op, super fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun classic tower defence. You are some sort of disfigured creature trying to stop hordes of invaders that craves the flesh of your first born. Just like any good border patrol agent, your goal is to set up defences and defend your homeland from the invader. This game however is not lead and directed by steven spielberg so no flashy explosions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very good on deck. easy to grasp, but can be challenging. a game that requires quick thinking sometimes
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played this game multiple times over the years on PS3. Only recently picked it up on Steam. The ultimate edition is a nice touch as it packages all the DLC and feature upgrades the PS Vita version of the game received, and packages it here on Steam. I've been greatly enjoying this game on Steam Deck, as well as playing some local coop with my brother recently. It performs flawlessly, is an extremely beautiful game to look at (despite coming out in 2007!) thanks to it's timeless art…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I barely played it, but I already see that I wont like it that much. Some core elements are tedious. You need to pick up money, if you dont do it after a certain while the money disappears. It can be tedious, as your character will get hurt and lose money if he touches enemies so you need to wait until its clear. The enemies move slowly and there is no way to speed things up. Its hard to say what exactly the range of your towers is as they seem to act differently to the indicator. I havent…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →got this game for free played it a little my wife saw the game and me playing it and said that looks cute asked if she wanted to join as it had 2 player Co-Op. ended up really loving the game and bought another copy of the game for her steam account that way when I had to travel for a while for work we could chat in Discord and play this game a little bit here and there was an absolute blast really like the random level generator system too where you can put in a code and it will generate a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i played this game when i was like 10 on my dads ps3 and i lost on some stage in tiki island and threw my controller at my widescreen and broke it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, played this TD thingy. Graphics? Meh. Music? Yawn. Story? Nope, nada, zilch. Overall? Bit of a snooze-fest. About as strategic as picking what socks to wear and feels more like a chore than a game. Oh, and it throws in some cards and achievements, like that's gonna spice things up. Trust me, there are more exciting ways to spend your time. I'll be looking for 'em.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best video games ever made. As closer to a perfect video game as I've every played. Now we need a 2D sequel that looks and sounds as great as the original!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best tower defence
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, one of the reasons I wish pixeljunk would make more games. The vibes are immaculate, as the kids would say these days.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best game everrrrrr. Best soundtrack everrrr. Hottest and the illest swag that came outta 2008. 10/10 will play this for the rest of my life bro.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tiny towers hold Monsters march through every path Strategy saves the day
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is cozy. This game is HARD. Like really hard. Every level requires a specific strategy, so you'll almost never 100% it your first try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Favourite tower defence game of all time. Aced it on PS3 and trying again on PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →psp era is back
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33401179/]Follow my curator page for more reviews! A tower defense with a decent simplistic artstyle and aimed at being more casual-ish, but it's not very fun thanks to difficulty that's all over the place and co-op that's bizarrely implemented. There are many other better casual-friendly tower defense games like Bloons TD, Defense Grid, Kingdom Rush, Sanctum 1 and 2, and the Orcs Must Die series. I only played this in co-op so maybe single-player is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun casual game that I can play seemingly forever!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple, relaxing, addictive, fun and deviously challenging.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →finished it on the psp, finished it on the deck. will finish on the next. pretty good TD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the BEST tower defense games ever!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wished this was available on the nintendo switch. this classic game is so great and crazy Sony hasnt release it on the PS5 or 4
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very entertaining, but it can be a bit frustrating at points. There are sometimes where it feels like a run fails just due to bad luck, but not enough to where I'd never want to play again. Multiplayer is a bit hit or miss when it comes to lag, but not unplayable. Overall, I'd recommend it if you're looking for a fun tower defense game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not playable Windows 11- controls broken
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate didn't age well, better off playing other tower defenses. Kingdom Rush, Rogue Tower, Gemcraft, EmberWard, Bloons TD, Defense Grid, X-morph, almost anything else! 2/10 🎮 Core Gameplay 3/10 • Mechanics: Classic Tower Defense with some minor interesting changes. • Balance: Lacking • Challenge: Frustrating, The final quitting point for me was I was playing this level that was air dominance, there were essentially no ground troops so I built all anti air. The final…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PixelJunk™ Monsters Ultimate is a fantastic tower defense game with charming pixel art, addictive gameplay, and challenging levels. It offers hours of strategic fun and is perfect for fans of retro-styled, engaging tower defense experiences.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my favorite tower defense game of all time. I've been playing this game for over 10 years and still come back to it. It's great!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simple but addictive. Couch co-op on PC with controllers works great. Hours of fun with my wife! In terms of recent games, this one does the best job of channeling the tower defense Warcraft 3 mods I played long ago with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game - very relaxing. Music is very interesting.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've loved this game ever since it launched on PS3 back in the day. Would love if this version could make it's way on to PS5 but for now it's a good time on PC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A tower defense strategy game with bright graphics and a cozy atmosphere.
